For discussing any racial, gender, and orientation misdoings happening across various movies and the film industry today.
This week, producer Ross Putnam started a Twitter account called "femscriptintros", where he puts up examples of how women are introduced in the screenplays he's read. And nearly all of sound like terrible porn or are too concerned with emphasizing said lady is beautiful despite whatever traits she may have. Here's a Take Two podcast made today where he talks about it.

Add me to the group.
Yeah, that sounds like something that changes the entire premise of the series

Also. To add to the "I'm writing something, I will call you to see it later": I'm writing a story with many non-white characters. I'm trying to create a memorable Quechua-descendent Latin American protagonist (those identities aren't self contradictory BTW, many citizens of modern day Peruvian urban cities are from -interal-inmigrant andean families, example: Myself).
And also, a very evil Quechua-descendent villain. People will remind that we can be very, very cruel, to show that we are humans after all...
...seriously, I'm kinda in love with the idea of a Latino Indigenous-looking The Generalissimo. I have reasons for it.

That sounds amazing ngl.

A cruel, sick joke is still a joke, and sometimes all you can do is laugh.Well, if we're sharing works, I'm working on a Fantasy (MAYBE Alt-History?) Western with gay leads. One is a mage from the city streets of New York while another is a Witcher-esque Monster Hunter living out in the Western Territories of late 1800s America. I'm actually really kind of looking forward to exploring racism, representation, society, and a bunch of other topics though using the fantasy elements but, unlike other uses of 'Fantasy Racism to explore real racism', I want to explore some more intersectional topics as well. If people discriminate based on skin-tone, where does that put groups like, say, Dwarves which might already be discriminated against?
Plus I also really like the idea of your usual fantasy archetypes in... Cowboy Wild West. It's so strange and unusual and I love it.
Just... Not sure if I want to write a script or do it as a novel. Novel means more details but a script could be quick fun and to the point, right?
Jumping on the bandwagon of sharing troper works, I've written the first draft, where one of the main character is gay and runs out on her responsibilities, including an arranged marriage to another woman, to have adventures.
Now if I only had time to edit it.
Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?The CW's Batwoman trailer has been bombed with some pretty sexist comments.
Here's the trailer in question.
Well it is the youtube comments section,I'm surprised they left the comments open
New theme music also a boxI did not like the trailer, I don’t remember Kate being a Glory Hound, but when you’re on the nose about diversity on the internet, things go south in a hurry.

No surprise there. The Anti-SJW crowd needs a new target. I mean, last time I checked they were making up "news" about Captain Marvel by creating petitions. Once the DVD is released there will be little to get fake deranged about for a while. This is the next logical target at least until advertising for episode 9 starts.
Honestly Batwoman being a glory hound seems like an interesting angle to go.
I don't even get how she's a glory hound. All she says is that she doesn't want people to mistake her for Batman.
I noticed that they copied the hero/her thing from the Captain Marvel trailer.
And Captain Marvel's comics/Endgame hairstyle too…?

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo. It's not that different from how Ruby Rose's hair is typically styled.
And it's not dissimilar from Kate Kane's comic haircut. Well, I think her comic haircut might be shorter actually, but it's been a while since I've read Batwoman comics.
Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself. What's with the red wig-thingy, though…? Does it have any particular meaning?
Now while some might rage on the feminism and butch lesbian protagonist, I'm annoyed by something else…
…What's with DC and their cities falling into crime just because one vigilante figure has disappeared? It was the same shit in the JL film… THAT'S NOT HOW CRIME WORKS.

Since when have superhero stories cared about how crime works? Batman in particular has been a huge offender of this.
At least some Bat-media emphasizes that Batman does a lot of good in his civilian identity to reduce crime in various ways. So I could see that the problem isn't just that Batman is gone, but that Wayne Enterprises probably isn't bothering to invest into the city in the same way Bruce did.
true, but Arkham Knight was at least interesting when crime basically... died almost over night.
I also think it said a lot more too.
If it's not, then he did a poor job of staffing his board of directors.
Probably hard to find time to run background checks when you're busy tooling around the city in the Batmobile, though.

That sounds awful. If they wanted Bai Gu Jing why not just adapt Journey West? Why shoehorn her into an entirely different Chinese myth
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youWhat was wrong with the Huns? They were very real and very dangerous. Hell, if you want a more visceral threat, why not just use the Mongolians? Why do you need this fantasy crap?
