I think the Claw arc is long enough to cover a whole season by itself, unless this is a double-length season, I can't see them covering it here. Can you tell me what you see in the trailer that indicates they'll cover the Claw arc?
The way I see it, episode one will cover Mob running for Student Council President, that whole little bit. The next 2 or 3 episodes will just be Mob and Reigen solving various minor spirits and urban legends, here is where Mob learns about his chlorokinesis. The next four episodes will cover the Mogami arc, and the last four of the cour will cover the Reigen Revealed arc.
I was figuring that the citywide destruction although I don't remember if the Mogami arc has the exact same stuff. But there is a literal one frame shot at 1:06 time index that is the exact shot of Shou Suzuki before he torches Mob's house.
If that's in there then I'd be lead to believe that the rest will be, either that or they are choosing to end it on one HELL of a cliffhanger.
There's also the fact that the season poster https://www.fathomevents.com/events/mob-psycho-100-season-2-premiere
Features characters from the arc in question. Look at the "bottom" of the tower near the bottom of the poster.

I'm guessing the citywide destruction is from the Mogami arc, when Mob starts tearing apart the mental world and he has to fight a bunch of evil spirits inside Mogami.
The thing with season 2 covering the Claw arc is that the rest of the series after that point: God Dimple, telepathy aliens, and Mob's date would be perfect for a single season cour. The Claw arc is also by far the longest arc in the series, so I could totally see that being its own season.
Maybe season 2 ends on a cliffhanger, maybe it's double-length and continues into the Claw arc, but I really can't see them fitting that arc into the back half of a normal cour, especially with the rest of the content the season will cover.
Yeah, that poster is definitely one big reference to the Claw arc. I hope the season's double-length, I just don't want them to rush anything getting there.

First episode is out now and we're already off to a good start. they've already covered four chapters. Changed the order around a little where he becomes aware that he can manipulate plants, then goes into the school election and the fake-dating thing.
Damn if I didn't get a little choked up at the scene where he uses his powers to regather the shredded novel though.
I actually think it makes more sense to put Mob's chlorokinesis before him running for Student Council President because it makes the episode come full circle when he uses his psychic powers to repair some pieces of paper. In the original, you just had to accept that Mob can just put the paper back together, but by having Mob learn chlorokinesis first, he's now actually mending the plant fibers in the paper back together, and it makes the episode's beginning feel more connected to the end.
In fairness, the first OP hinted at things that would happen this season and next, if not a potential fourth season. Not as on the nose but still definitely there.
Also, very good start to season 2. Forgot how much the stuff with Emi got to me when I first read it and seeing it animated hit just as hard.

"Evii is right though" -Saturn "I didn't know you were a bitch Evii." -Lior Val

Fantastic that the studio and staff are also being kept intact unlike with OPM season 2. I wonder how much they'll cover?
