There’s going to be an interview with the writing staff tonight at 11:00pm EST. This is probably in response to some really crazy leaks that have appeared in the past 24 hours.
Said leaks include Shiro marrying a Roy Fokker lookalike, and Allura dying.

If the leaks end up being real, there's some suspiciuos things here and there, so I'm not sure I believe them quite yet.
For one, the original leaker (the one who posted Shiro's wedding) saying they were working on the malay dub of S8... even though Malaysia's last dubbed season of VLD was S2 (the leaker also said they didn't need to sign an NDA to work on the show, which is nigh-unbelievable). Before they deleted, all their other posts were about manips from other shows. Further leaks come from empty twitters and say they are from BTI Studios, which localizes Netflix shows in Europe. Lastly, One of said leaks was a still with text a la "Where Are They Now?" Epilogue with bad grammar, which makes its authenticity doubtful.
It might still be true, of course, but I'm well prepared for these "leaks" to be fabricated.
Oh, and the interview was all about the Game Show Episode, no talk of leaks at all.

The leaks may be real after all. Here's a pic of the french dubbing team taking a selfie with the older paladins leak behind them.

Ok, some thoughts on the leaks.
Roy is a placeholder or else there’s going to be a lawsuit from Tatsunoko and Harmony Gold, especially with the 2017 ruling making the chain of command on Macross rights in the US clear (Harmony Gold gets rights till 2021 at which point they revert to Tatsunoko, the latter of which has no interest in renewing the deal). And they cannot show that scene in every country. To be honest, that’s not as bad as the implication that Allura died, which is just several metric tons of Unfortunate Implications.

Yeah the latter one has me reeling. If true it just sounds like a terrible decision all around, both in-universe and out.
The former one, though, wasn't there a Roy cameo in the very first episode as well as quite a few other obvious references to Robotech? And they openly admitted to ripping off Macross in the latest season. I really don't see why it would cause a problem now.
It’s one thing to have a cameo.
To use the design without changes for a gay marriage is something that they can sue over for unauthorized use. Hence the placeholder theory. That doesn’t account for the bonus cringe of forgetting Roy’s actual girlfriend Claudia, an example of an interracial couple in the 80’s.

Just because the circumstances are now a wedding doesn't make it not still a cameo. I see nothing suitworthy about that. Especially since they would look like homophobes for reacting to this yet not the earlier cameos.
Anyway, wow. After all the trouble they had with just admitting Adam was Shiro's boyfriend, that's one hell of an Author's Saving Throw. Even if they did resort to a literal Last-Minute Hookup for it.

That could be considered denigration of the brand. It’s one thing to have a character in a background, it’s another to make them actively part of the plot without authorization, which if the cameo is “he’s marrying the main character” is pretty easy to say. Especially given how notorious Harmony Gold is about litigating anything that slightly resembles Macross.

Harmony Gold is very lawsuit happy, as fans of BattleTech can attest. But if they change a few things in the final it should be enough to avoid litigation. That’s a degree of legal separation I’m admittedly not an expert in.

Not to be a wet blanket, but I'm still skeptical. Unless you want to make sure you never work again in the business, you don't go around posting smiling pictures with the last scenes of the unreleased final season of a show that you're localizing. If real, Netflix and/or Dreamworks will most probably blacklist this studio in the future. What reasons do they have to "confirm" these leaks and put their livelihoods on the line, anyway? To prove the skeptics wrong? The shadows also look inconsistent, but that may just be me.
Again, I won't be surprised if this is real, but I also won't be surprised if it's not.
Here it is, the final season trailer, with a quote from a linked article
.
Quintessence son!
To be more precise, that seems to be the effect that any Quintessence has on machines powered by it. Remember that the five lions were not originally created with combining in mind. It seems to be similar to Getter Rays in that regard. It gives a more humanoid form to something that doesn't have it.
One Strip! One Strip! That explains how they keep creating new weapons for every new situation.
I also call bullshit on the Coalition and the Blades getting decimated after Lotor and Zarkon are dead. They had a third of the universe, were their defenses that dependent on Voltron?
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.

( As shown in the parodi episode "The Voltron Show!" S4:E4 he gets the nickname Shiro the Hero, Rather then Loverboy/Humorous he would probably get in another show.
Like imagine if bryke had come to comic con and said that Korra and Asami is bi and we will see them fall in love in season 4 ,and then we watch the show 3 month later and Korra/Asami spend almost the whole season separately, only speak in ambigusly sentences that can be both read as romantic and platonic and no kissing, romantic huggings or even a I love you...only a handholding scene in the end.
People would be disappointed and pissed....which many fans of Voltron was during season 7
But it's sadly not much the showrunner can do about it.
