Biolab

"Well, ask the biologist." Mitch replies, pointing to Mireille. "What do you have in mind?" He asks, still floating.

"Oh, hey Merrick." He greets him.

Hallway

Izzie is rather surprised when Russell suddenly outbursts. "I think you can handle yourself pretty well. Like Amos said, we're here to help if you need it. We won't force it on you."

Bridge

"Hey, Greg. This is Silas, Whistler, and Godsgift, who you can't see because he's an AI." Val introduces Greg to them. "New members, this is your captain, Greg."

Peter practically glomps Greg when he returns. "Hey, Trent." He says to her.

"Oh, yes. Well, we have a lot of empty rooms in the crew quarters area, so just go ahead and pick for yourselves." He says to the new members.

The Troperia - Hallway

...I'm sorry. I'm used to everyone when they find out treating me like I can't do anything by myself. Doesn't matter if I could prove myself the better at games or on my board or what it was..." Russell explains his sudden outburst and built up angst.

"Hey its okay, I get it, I think we all do. Also so what if you have some trouble, Amos sucks at dancing it turns out, I can't park the ship to save our lives despite being able to fly. Its okay." Michael tries to reassure him.

A few moments pass where Russell is quiet and doesn't really respond before in a sudden curious outburst. "Wait you can fly this ship?!?"

The Troperia - Biolab

Kyerine jumps up from his seat leaving the bear behind. "Lab assistant Kyerine ready to help!" He says boldly.

"One question, what is a Guinea pig?" He follows up with in a confused head tilted manner.

Troperia, Lab/Biolab

Mireille chuckled "Very well, lab assistant." She said, hearing the other question she chuckled again "Oh, its a small animal that is traditionally used as a lab animal for tests, don't worry though." She looked to the two "Well, I thought about doing a fully body MRI, some basic medical tests and taking a little blood-smaple, nothing more~" she looked to Kyerine and back to the two "Would you mind if Kyerine takes the sample? It will be good practice for him and luckily a syringe isn't electric in any way."

[Bridge—>Crew's Quarters]

"Got it," Whistler said. "Just keep us in mind if you need anything. I'm a programmer and a pilot, and Sy... I'm not really sure what he is, but he's good with numbers. I think he's an accountant."

"I prefer the term 'debonair adventurer'," Sy said sarcastically, "but yes, I was an accountant a few years ago. Lately I've been dabbling in a lot of skills, mostly engineering and biotech. I'm sure I can help out around the ship."

"And of course, Godsgift is an insane genius, so it might be best not to ask him to help," Whistler finished. "Let's go, Sy, they obviously have work to do. Good to meet you, Captain," he added.

The two stepped out of the bridge and looked at each other.

"Interesting group," Whistler said.

"You're one to talk," Sy said with a half-grin. "Maybe next time somebody asks about your biology, you just give them a pamphlet."

"I can write a pamphlet," Godsgift said. "Do you think I should avoid the phrase 'freak of nature'?"

"Don't write a pamphlet," Whistler said. "Just point us to the crew quarters."

"Too late. Pamphlet done. You can't tell me what to do."

Shortly after, they stood outside the rooms they'd chosen.

"Sure you don't want to explore? They really seem like they wouldn't mind," Whistler said.

"No, I need to take a rest. I'm exhausted. And I probably have a concussion, come to think of it. I'm going to run a quick diagnostic and get some shut-eye."

Whistler stared at Sy for a few seconds, dipping his heads in a frown.

"You Tines have no idea how to conceal your emotions," the human said sourly. "I'll be fine."

"I just don't... Nevermind." Privately, to Godsgift, the pack added, Would you keep an eye on him? You can communicate with that device on his wrist, right?

I sure can. I can even shock him with it. Or launch a sophisticated hacking assault on the mainframe of this ship's AI, and make it look like Sy's doing it.

Just... keep an eye on him, Whistler said firmly.

"I'll see you in a bit, then," the pack said aloud, and went into his room.

Sy stood there for another few seconds, frowning himself, before he too retreated to relative privacy.

Biolab

"...Eh. Sure. Haven't had many checkups." he says and holds one of his toned arms, so Kyerine can take some "blood". "Never had much need, I guess. Echireans don't get many normal sicknesses and stuff."

Bridge

"Yeah, it is pretty cool. Glad I stole it." he chuckles. "Oh, ok. See you later, then." he says to Trent as she leaves. He then looks over to Sy, Whistler, and Godsgift as Val introduces them. "Nice to mee you guys. Please, make yourselves at home." he says with a smile. "Just don;t break nothin'."

Hallway

Amos laughs at Russell's sudden change of subject. "Heh, yeah, he knows how to drive the ship. He's a bit better than he lets on."

Aaaaand one more solo-post. I'll, uh, try to post fewer walls of text from here on out... But I'll probably fail because I fucking love writing too much.

[Sy's Room, Crew's Quarters]

Inside his room, Sy set his pack down on the floor beside the small bed, and removed the pistol holster from his waist. He started to set it on a table in the corner, then hesitated, removed the pistol from the holster and set the empty holster on the table. The pistol he tucked under the pillow on the bed. Then he sat on the bed and watched his hands shake for a few seconds.

He leaned down, unclasped the pack and pulled out a smaller case, from which he pulled a tiny oblong capsule, mostly transparent with one metallic end, and a small device with a screen, about half the size of his palm. He fitted the capsule into a port on the top of the device and the screen lit up. Characters no one but Sy would recognize began to stream past the display. He tapped a few buttons with the careless speed of someone typing a long-memorized sequence, and popped the capsule out of the port. He stuffed the device back into its case, back into the pack, carefully latched the pack and pushed it underneath the bed, and flopped back onto the pillow, holding up the capsule.

"That's not a quick diagnostic," Godsgift said from the device on Sy's wrist. Sy closed his eyes and gritted his teeth.

"I respect you as an equal," He said quietly. "As much as Whistler and I yell at you, you're smart enough to recognize that. No?"

After a second, Godsgift replied, "Sure. And despite your brain made of meat, I think of you as basically intelligent too."

Sy ignored that. "But one of the great things about being a sophont is the ability to make your own decisions. Free will. No?"

Godsgift didn't reply.

"So Godsgift, I respect you, but fuck off." And he pressed the metallic end of the capsule to his wrist. Anything Godsgift might have said after that was lost.

The initial sensation was just a confused rush, a jumble of physical sensations, contradictory emotions, almost-coherent memories. For the first few seconds, it always felt like his mind teetered on the edge of dissolving into an insensate mess. In his room, his eyes had rolled back and his eyelids fluttered rapidly, but otherwise he lay still on the bed.

Then the peak of the rush passed, and his mind fixated on a set of sensations. It was always a bit of a crapshoot as to what memory he'd reach, except that the drug wouldn't allow him to fixate on memories associated with strong negative emotions. Anything that had caused undue stress at the time, anything that had frightened him or angered him, was discarded by the artificially-focused point of consciousness digging through his memories like a clerk through an old, ill-organized file directory.

He felt fingers in his hair and smelled a sea that he knew was artificial, and immediately knew the memory he'd settled on. He opened his eyes and breathed a slow sigh. He always felt so relieved when it worked, even though he'd never had a bad experience. Maybe it wasn't relief that the drug had done its job; it was just relief to get away from the present.

But he couldn't even dwell on that for more than a second; the chemicals streaming through his brain simply made any kind of brooding impossible.

The details of the hallucination were unimportant, and in any case he rarely remembered them sharply when he came out of the dream-state. Even though they were real memories, and even though the drug caused him to relive them, it didn't make them any more immediate once he awoke; they were the same old, faded memories. The worst part was that he had never captured any images or recordings of the figure from the dream, and he could no longer clearly remember the face or voice. Yet, it was always so vivid in the dream-state. It was the only way he could convince himself that he still remembered everything.

Not that that really mattered. He didn't want to remember; he didn't even care what memories came up in the dream-state, so long as they were—and they always were, as if the drug somehow knew that those were the right ones—memories of Andris.

Then any thought about drugs or memories or even now was impossible to hold onto, and he was no longer his current self reviewing the memory; the memory was real, and he was back on that silly fake beach on a spaceship, looking forward to a life that he really thought was going to be different.

In Sy's room aboard the Troperia, Sy lay motionless except for his fluttering eyelids.

From the device on his wrist, Godsgift emitted an audible sigh. "Fine. I guess I'll just monitor your vitals. Oh, look, your heart rate is elevated and your pupils are dilating. I sure hope you don't go into cardiac arrest. That would be terrible. I would probably have to call Whistler in here, and then we'd have to explain to the crew why you're shooting up on their ship less than half an hour after they saved your ass."

After a few seconds—during which Sy did not go into cardiac arrest—the wristwatch sighed again.

"Even if ability I had, out of range we would be. More than 100 parsecs," Torvahk replied as he searched for a sponge mop and eventually found one to clean the spills. He then added, "Return if I were, demoted I would be most likely, even though fault mine this is not. Gone I am for a while, worthwhile it should be I figure." It wasn't clear whether it was the result of the Neural Scanning/Translation Application gradually piecing together more of the English language, by sheer coincidence, but parts of Torvahk's sentences were becoming more grammatically accurate. Unfortunately due to the limited functionality of the device, it would not work as a perfect substitute for learning a language, and would remain very limited in usefulness.

"I don't think an MRI would be good for me, since I'm partly made out of metal." Mitch says to Mireille. "We usually use microcomputers injected into the bloodstream for scans in Hestia. There should be some stocked somewhere, I think."

The Troperia - Biolab

Kyerine did not falter on Mitch's comment or wait for input from the doctor, taking the prepared needle and while standing on top of a adjacent chair without being given instructions on how to taking a blood sample... Oddly it might be beginners luck, he hit in the exact spot you would have wanted a trained individual to go for drawing out the sample of bluish something(?) quickly.

"Aaaaand done!" He calls cheerfully down, quickly putting the needle down and grabbing a plaster to put over the put over the top. Though as Kyerine presses it down in his maybe overly enthusiastic procedure.

Rakari would feel this sinking feeling in his system, a sickening one where the enegy was flowing in a way he didn't expect as long as Kyerine was in contact. The most notable effect making all of Rakiri's sensory stimulations heightened and ultra sensitive for upto about 30 seconds after he lets go or is pushed away.

The Troperia - Hallway —> Medbay

The group arrives apparently chucking into the Medbay.

Blake pushing himself up from nearly falling asleep, his eyes still psionically, his head was resting on Matt's bed. "Oh you came in person." Blake says blinking and trying to get some focus.

Michael nods looking to Amos who got the message.
Meanwhile Russell curiously "looked" around the room, quirking his head towards Lex, Kijo and Toraq where he waves, looking vaguely in their direction with his foggy grey eyes and a bit of a now cheerful smile on his face again.

Troperia, Lab/Biolab

Mireillle gave an impressed nod, somehow she got the feeling that this was more than just 'beginners luck' it was probably around as much beginners luck as the functions of a MRI were 'basic physics'. She would have to ask him that later, though for now she only picked up the syringe, putting the blood in the analyzer while searching for the micro-computers Mitch mentioned, hoping they would be in here. Normally she would have said something but she was currently doing much too many things at once, she was eager to do good work for the crew, and it showed, while doing such she slightly hummed happily.

Izvaizovyn -> Troperia Med Lab.
Zevai sighed. Nothing for it. It wouldn't be the first tragedy she'd been responsible for. She swiped a few things onto her slate, went back into storage, and grabbed a couple of vials. She walked towards the lock, before realizing she forgot something. She swiped a couple more things onto her slate, and set off. A few seconds later, she returned, and changed from her dress uniform and the (useful, but a pain to get off) space suit into to something both more comfortable and easier to remove. She put the vials and her slate into her pockets, and set off. Actually, this time.

Zevai pressed the button to open the door to the Med Lab, inwardly questioning why the hell anyone would put up signs on a starship, especially pointing the way to the engine room or the CIC. She stepped into the Med Lab and looked around at the colorful variety of alien species. The taxonomists back in Azshtani space would have a field day with this.

Zevai sighed. She had no idea which one this "Mireille" was. She didn't even know if that was a male or female name around here. Hell, she didn't know if they had different genders around here. It certainly appeared so, but, really, she had no idea. She guessed the one running around was the assistant and the uh, plant-lady was the doc, given what they were doing. Taking a guess, she walked up to Mireille and asked, "Excuse me, but are you the Xenobiologist?"

Kriken Prison Moon, outside Detention Facility

Harrier is retconned, his codename is West now

West lied in wait for the lone Kriken. As it turned the corner, it found itself staring down the barrel of not one, but two, high-caliber Gauss Magnums. Suddenly, it's entire body began to smoke, and out of what appeared to be a 7' tall Kriken steps a female 5' 9" humanoid. She looked just like a human, save for her elf-like ears and black runes over her left eye and down her cheek.

"Never expected to find a Talgen here.

"You didn't think the Grand Magus would send someone to break you out?"

Heh. It's nice to feel appreciated. So, judging from that impressive disguise Arcana, you're a Magus as well?"

Space Elves and Magitek are both fine, yes. No worries.

Bridge

"Uh...wow, ok." Greg responds, at the apparent porn being streamed through one of the ships channels. "Yeah, that's totally...not cool." Right.

He looks back over to Peter. "Eh...not really, no...I mean, there's no need to rush her all at once, you know..." he reasons. Yeah, that and someone's terrified of needles.

Med Bay

"Yeah. I figured that might be better, I guess." Amos starts, noticing Matt laid up in the bed, as well as Jiko and Lex. He's slightly curious about that, but figures it's probably better to talk about what they were going to talk about first. "So...what kind of help do you need from us?"

Toraq nods to Kijo. "Any time." As the others enter, he glances over, noting Russell who seems to be looking around. "Well, then, another new face it seems. Welcome." he says with a smile.

Biolab

"Eh, well, it's not "blood", but-" Rakiri pauses, his eyes going slightly wide as all his sensory recpetors are thrown into high-gear at once, along with in intense feeling similar to motion sickness and nausea. "Eughh...! The f...aargh..!" he grits out, yanking himself away from Kyerine with enough force that he ends him slamming himself back against the wall, before sliding down to a seated position, clutching his head tightly as his body shivers and sparks involuntarily. "...Fucking...what...graaagh...!" he shouts, the intensity of sensations from everything unbearable.

The Troperia - Medbay

Blake takes a second looking over everyone and nodding to Izzie. "Oh Izzie I actually planned to speak to you as well anyway...." He sighs, before proceeding to provide a detailed account of everything that has happened here so far, though nothing new over what was already revealed to the others including what happened to them both at PRISM and his need of anti-psionic devices for Matt and the need of the bridge bunnies to help crack PRISM's security and get the access codes for helping him.

"I... I get this might be a lot to take in and it will still be a while before I need the codes but I do need help with it. I am of course willing to provide compensation for it. Izzie, name your price. Amos, I have a offer for you." He says holding up a datastick.

"I have a fragmented copy of the base AI codes for your favourite enemy, Mira. I picked them up on the station before she was purged.."

"What about my reward?" Michael questions to Blake's surprise.

"Hey mr... I wasn't actually suppose to be aboard but your Captain kinda kidnapped me." He replies sticking out his tongue with a amused smirk.

The Troperia - Biolab

Kyerine falls backwards off his chair as Rakiri pulls away, hitting his head on the floor. "Oww my head..." He says rubbing it till Mitch shouts at him starting to push away from Mitch into a wall in a scarred yelp unable to manage words in his sudden shock of being shouted at. "T-h-p.." The lights on the ceiling flickering slightly as he tries to move his hide to hide behind the doctor.
