Vincent dragged his suitcase up the ramp. He saw a few handmade signs with words scrawled on them. "<—— bridge", " Training room ——->".

As they turned towards the bridge he thought he heard a loud bang from the training room which made the ship shake.

Vincent have this idea be had more serious thought. Perhaps he should have waited until the captain agreed to let him join before making his goodbye speech. Imagine if they met again; although he doubted that would happen. If he said no then he'd just steal a ship and leave.

Troperia, Mireille's Quarters

Mireille put the Data crystal deep in one of her pockets making doubly sure that it would not fall out "Th-Thanks so much, I promise you that I will continue on your research." A small chuckle "Don't worry child - I never expected any less from you. I'm sure you can do it Mireille." She sipped the last bit of tea from her cup "So, that way my part, the Mechs should have build your new lab by now. If you need anything else - you know where to call me." Gracefullly the professor got up "I'm back in the center now." "Y-Yes, and tell everyone that I'm fine and that I really look forward seeing them again!" Another small chuckle "Oh Mireille, its not even a day, but still, I'll make sure. We'll see eachother again, even if its only me seeing you on the cover of a science magazine." With a last hug she left.

Bridge

Lex nods with Peter's explanation, "Just wanted to make sure you knew, captain, in case anything else comes to a head."

Chris' chuckles at the question mark quickly die off as Peter explains, and his face goes grim, the ellipses almost audible from his expression...before, "THEY DID WH-?"

His attention is quickly diverted by a loud beeping noise, and his manner changes to that of a professional, "There are signatures of an antimatter annihilation within the Kuiper Belt, should we try and establish contact?"

Toraq's Pocket

Toraq may note that his tablet-like device starts ringing.

Since he appeaered last time, Jumpers skintone has changed dramatically, now being a nearly complete black, akin to black silk viewed without a lightsource.

Izvaizovyn, currently accelerating at 20g towards the inner system.

"Vazshta mizaan," Zevai said. She wasn't far enough away. She had a bit over thirteen seconds before the wave of gamma rays flooded over her, and not much longer until the particle radiation hit her. She couldn't outrun light. She also couldn't get up.

About seven seconds after the explosion, the various forms of electromagnetic radiation from the explosion hit her ship. "Mezatai!" She looked around, confused. "Wha - Oh. Forgot to multiply by a half." Only 220,000 kilometers from ground zero. The radiometers were clanging wildly. Fortunately, she was far enough not to receive a lethal dose of radiation. Barely.

Zevai killed the thrust, feeling an immense weight lift off of her, and staggered into the medical bay to look for the anti-radiation drugs. Or at least the anti-nausea drugs. Finding some, and feeling marginally better, i.e. capable of piloting again, she sat back down at the control panel, showing a, ah... Large amount of errors. Fewer than she had expected, honestly, having just survived through a massive gamma ray burst. The engine still worked, the power plant worked, life support still worked, the radiators were still attached... Electrical faults all over the place, breakers tripped, fuses blown. Repairs would be a while, but she had a while. Even if she could get the engines up and running now, it would be hours before she arrived anywhere.

An couple hour later, still travelling at about 200 kilometers per second, repairs were done. Blown fuses were replaced, neutron-activated metals were shed and replaced, breakers were reconnected. And... The engines still didn't work.

That was bad. She'd whip around the planet and take a one-way ticket into interstellar space. Or Lithobrake, if she was really unlucky. Unfortunately, the natives wouldn't know or understand, probably, an Accord-compliant mayday signal. If they did, that would be insanely scary. At least she had a few weeks. Well, 39 weeks. It would be a long time.

Not having anything better to do, she set up the mayday beacon, then put on her suit and stepped outside to see what had happened to the engines.

Message as follows:

MAYDAY. MAYDAY. THIS IS THE ISS IZVAIZOVYN, CURRENTLY ON RENDEZVOUS ORBIT WITH THE 4TH PLANET IN THE SYSTEM.
ENGINES ARE NON-FUNCTIONAL. REPEAT: ENGINES ARE NON-FUNCTIONAL.
REQUESTING ASSISTANCE. OVER.
MAYDAY. MAYDAY...
The message was set on repeat every fifteen seconds.

David sighs heavily.

"Since my original plan was obviously the wrong one, and I'm completely out of options at this point," he looks up at Kijo, "I know you hate us. But to avoid getting yourself and my brother...my kid...killed, won't you at least give it a chance?"

Kijo remains silent, though his eyes have dropped. It's a decision he can't rightly make on his own at any rate...but as much as he hates the idea the older man has a point.

Just a note, the training room and bridge are not on the same floors. Look here for the general layout of the ship.

Bridge

Cue the question mark flaring as it becomes and exclamation point. "What the hell? Why didn't anybody tell me?! I'm the captain, why am I always the last to hear shit?"

"Gaaaah!" As Jumper comes out of nowhere, Greg notably flinches back, the exclamation point becoming a !? of surprise. "Oh...well, either way, I;m glad that you;re alright. And back to stay, I hope."

Tor steps onto, guiding Vincent in behind him. "Captain? I have another who wishes to join our ranks." As Kyerine asks his question, he thinks for a moment before his pocket starts to vibrate. "Ah...excuse me a moment. I'll answer you in a second." he says and gives the boy another quick pat on the had before he takes out his tablet. He answers, his demeanor defaulting to professional. "Dr. Toraq Corax speaking." he says, waiting for the other party to come up on screen.

Greg looks over to Tor and Vincent, nodding to the latter. "Oh, yeah? Cool, come on over." he says, ushering for Vincent to come over.

Delta Dash Arcade

"Heh, well, not too amazing, but...heh. He's being modest, he's pretty good too." Amos responds, looking slightly bashful. "Well, I don;t see any harm in letting him see the ship. Can we?" he asks, Michael.

Training Room

"...What the hell." Rakiri finally speaks, the rather quick escalation of events having surprised him. "...Can we try going five minutes without having a situation. What's going on now?"

Vincent rests his case in a corner and walks over to the Captain, nodding. "A pleasure to meet you, Captain… Captain" he replies, realising Tor hadn't told him the Captain's name and covering it up by shaking his hand.

"I am Vincent Marcanus Lucio, former Chairman of the Lycan system. I have come to join your fine crew because, long story short, I want to get away from here."

Good to know though, wish we could keep that post somewhere for reference, and if it is kept on the main signup page or whatever, then it's my fault for not finding it.))

Troperia Bridge:

Eventually, Torvahk would arrive at the bridge of the Troperia. He noticed that there were significantly more people here than there were earlier, and is unsure of where to begin. He would start by simply asking, "Storage free is there any in Armory?" once the present conversations were done.

Nos Lycarin - Outside the Lyterran Orphanage

Russell seems super excited looking to Michael attempting the best puppy dog eyes he could, despite the fact he couldn't make eye contact. Micahel just smiles a little looking at Amos. "I don't see any issue either."

"Awesome! Anyway this is my place two secs I need to grab something before we get a bite to eat i'll be right back." Russell says excitedly, before heading through some gates onto the property quickly dashing and nearly running into something, only avoiding at the last second since he couldn't see it.

The building is large and relatively old for the planets time period at-least. Well signposted as what it is, a orphanage of some kind run by Steward Executor Grimly. The building looked nice enough, though the kids scared off before at the arcade can be seen on the far side of the property but they seemed to be avoiding Russell and the pair outside the gates.

Troperia - Bridge

Kyerine nuzzles the hand as he is pat before just looking at at Toraq and waiting patiently for his answer. Giving a mild wave to the captain Greg and to Jumper; not phased in the slightest despite the fact they are nearly three times Kyerine's height. Like he has seen someones similar before...

Troperia - Training Room

Blake looks over to Kijo and David. "Look we have alot of issues right now. The first thing though is, I at-least want to know what exactly is going on with Jiko or whoever you are?"

Dominic can certainly attempt to try and read his current mental state which is odd... Its pretty much blanked out, there is activity but it is incredibly weak. Some major force of interference not upon Dom's readings but on the brains own activity.

Blake has rushed over checking his pulse, feeling revealed its still there but he knew something was off, Matthew was usually harder than this to just get quiet let alone KO- Blakes eyes flicker a bright red with a sudden psionic pulse as his evasive powers trigger, a precognitive warning that causes him to acrobatically dive backwards...

For right as Mitch's metal strips make contact and start trying to restrain him. The interfered and distorted brainwaves synchronize in one huge spike followed by this huge wave of activity. "To hell with all of you!" He curses out awaking. His sword that was embedded in the wall igniting brightly and flying towards him and severing the bonds at his wrists in one solid plasma hot strike.

The empowered teen takes the blade in his hand and draws the other, without caution slicing the restrains attempting to bind his ankles; he stands. His eyes with a fiery golden glow, though this purple ring surrounded the edge equally glowing.    "Don't any of you dare touch me!"    His psionic energies rapidly increasing in strength and his blades becoming ever hotting with this vivid and painfully hot golden and purple flame.

"Rylan calm down, stop this now! You don't want to hurt him!" Blake calls out, hopping to dim this storm but he could feel the power brewing. This was not a good sign and Blake was already moving to grab his -... Shitting hell... Matt still has my taser.

Izvaizovyn, currently flying lazily (at 200 kilometres per second...) towards Lyca IV

Zevai was woken by the sound of an alarm going off. "What's going wrong this time..." she wondered aloud. Flicking open a couple of status screens, Zevai quickly ascertained what was wrong. That is, everything, more or less. "Mezatai Zaast." The repair drones still worked, at least.

"Haven't been a mechanic in, what, seven centuries, now? Hopefully I remember." She put her space suit back on. "Of course I do. And plus, I have the computer." Zevai shook her head, before putting on her helmet. "And I have really got to stop talking to myself." The airlock cycled, and she stepped outside.

"Kavzai." A completely blown circuit that was currently sparking into space. She punched a few numbers, and an autofactory produced a replacement part. "Nope, still talking to myself." She killed the power to the engines, pulled out the fault, and replaced the new part, making good sure the engines were off. She pulled the status panels back up, and... voila! The engines were back online. "I am an abject genius!" She walked back to the airlock, and slumped down against a wall, as well as one can slump against a wall in microgravity, at least.

She walked back to the command console, not bothering to take her space suit off except for the helmet. She suspected she'd be back outside soon. She strapped into the command chair, and floored the accelerator. She still had plenty of fuel to get to the planet, or, hopefully, someone would pick up her mayday signal... actually, that would be bad. She flicked the mayday off. Now to wait. It would be a couple days before she got to this new civilization... assuming she wanted to get there. She seriously hoped so.

Just in case, she composed a message to Imperial Command, "''Izvaizovyn, compose message to Imperial Command. Take dictation: Ship is crippled, initiating contact with unknown sophonts out of necessity. Lighthugger is destroyed, antimatter containment breach. Wish me luck. End dictation."

Now, to contact the new sophonts. "Izvaizovyn, commence message to unknown sophonts, all frequencies. Start dication: My name is Zevai kes-Izvaizovyn Mezsh-iv-Kaas," she left off most of her name, to avoid cluttering the message, and because, well, they might, somehow, understand her, and she really didn't want First Contact to end badly because of the title on her honor roll. "First-in scout for the Raasavai. We come in peace, and would like to open dialogues. End dictation. Set to repeat every fifteen seconds." Now the ball was in their court, assuming they could even talk, at least...

"Greg. Captain Greg." Greg responds. "Or, Fireball Captain. The nickname's kinda grown on me, heheh. But, yeah, glad to have you aboard Vince. Just make yourself at home. And don't blow nothin' up."

Greg gives a nod to Jumper. "Sure. If you need any help, just let me know, alright?"

David is about to answer when Matthew comes back to, and he whips his pistol forward while activating the override on his cybernetics. Time seems to slow for him as his mental capabilities increase exponentially and he aims a shot where he knows shouldn't hurt the child any more than he has to. It will, if it works, simply work like a tazer might, as the Equalizer has been set to that setting.

Kijo, meanwhile, simply holds his arms up, ready to react should his attacker try to come at him again, though he is already feeling the sting of too much stimulation to his muscles.

"Passcode for one of the lockers can I have, or way is there to set one yourself?" Torvahk asked, glad that he would have a space to store some of his equipment after all. The weight of his FTX-45 Fusion Cannon despite being compressed in its undeployed form was beginning to take its toll on the alien's back despite the power armor and his physical conditioning.

A Yacht in orbit around Lyca IV

A sensor technician is sitting at his desk, looking really bored, when a warning pops up on his terminal. "Uh, Commander? You might want to see this."

The commander walked over. "Yes?"

"It's a message, sir. Far as we can tell. None of our translation software can understand it. Doesn't look encrypted."

The commander took a moment to process this information. "You're saying..."

The technician nodded gravely. "Yes sir. First contact."

The commander sighed. "Get our best people on translating that. I want a response figured by tomorrow."

"Ye- yes sir." He sent off a message to anyone nearby (especially the Troperia):

Mitch psionically reduces the convection from the heat of Matthew's blades so that it doesn't burn anyone. He then shifts his foot to create a small fissure beneath Matthew's legs that will hopefully trap him in place.

Dominic fires a weak laser at Matthew's eyes to temporarily blind him, then tries to use another stasis bubble at him. The other's attacks will still go through if it hits. "Matthew's gone berserk and is trying to attack Jiko- I mean, Kijo." He says to Rakiri.

"Don't ask me, I wasn't there when it happened either." Peter says to Chris and Greg. "Dear, you might wanna look up." He says, pointing to the flaming exclamation mark.

"Maybe, but I don't think we're anywhere near enough to- hold on. There's another message incoming about... translating an alien language. Sounds like an unknown species."

"Could be the same person." Izzie remarks. "Oh, hey, another new crew member. The quarters are one floor down." She says to Vincent.

Troperia - Training Room

"Simple injuries wont cut it. His pain tolerance is going to be through the roof but don't you dare go go all out! H-he isn't in control of himself!" Blake calls out.

Matthew initially doesn't move much as the volley of attacks come in, quickly proving what was just said. Letting the lightning strike him with only a mild twitch as he seems not to move much and doesn't react with any pain. Equally as the shots hit him in a way that should have effectively tazed him.    "You really think that hurts. You can hurt me a tenth of what they could..."    His tone full of wroth.

Right as the fissure begins to appear at his feet, Matthew starts to move. Psionically launching himself not at Kijo but at Mitch.    "I thought I said don't you dare try and touch me!"    his speed incredible as he moves forward with his blades aimed only to get hit by the blindness; causing him to miss the mark and crash into one of the training machines instead. Leaving him a easy target of the stasis field.

"Dominic let me go... He is not Jiko any more. It said so itself." Let me go or else!"    Matthew shouts over from inside the stasis field, despite all that just happened he had all his fight still in him, his eyes turning form there normal intense gold glow in a fight almost like a infection more purple.

"Matthew stop this. Jiko, Lex, Dominic they all saved you. They helped you when you nee-" Blake is forced to make another emergency evasion as despite being in the stasis field and Matthew being unable to move. As the pair of plasma blades are psionically launched flying out one was at Blake and the other straight at Dominic, its power easily enough to slice through armor.

"... w-no damn it. Don't give in to the control chip. You're my little brother, you're stronger than this!" Blake says, really having trouble keeping up. He was intoxicated and exhausting himself quickly slow. He was also clearly getting desperate.

Troperia - Bridge

Kyerine also waves over to Izzie and Peter. "I didn't make any more go sploosh. We just found this crazy guy." He bluntly says in his innocent tone. "He was drinking some strange smelling stuff." He tries to express the situation.

Nos Lycarin - Outside the Lyterran Orphanage

After Russell went inside Michael was about to make some comment when his communicator starts beeping way with one of his redirected messages from the bridge. "Huh incoming transmission? Translation of alien languages?" Michael sending a response back.

"This is Michael Sitona, communication officer of the Troperia. Request for translation assistance received. Send details down, I can likely aid."

Michael just hoped they didn't check his credentials or anything, after all nobody wants to listen once they found out he is just a teenager without any known background for formal education.

"Captain on deck!" The Captain and owner of the Just Read The Instructions stepped into the CIC. "Situation report

The technician from earlier who first noticed the message spoke, "We have communications from an unknown alien entity,"

The Captain interrupted him. "I know, that's why I'm here."

"What?" Greg indeed looks up and spots the flaming punctuation marks. "...Uh." he quickly raises his hand and fans them away. "Yeah, what Izzie said, one floor down. And thanks!" Greg says to Vincent. He looks back at Torvahk. "Well, I;m pretty sure you can just pick one and then assign your own codes or something. I admit, I don;t really have a need for the armory because "I'VE GOT THE FIYAH!" he exclaims, suddenly flaming up before he stops a minute later, calm as ever. "So, yeah."

Outside Lyterran Orphanage

"Sure. Take your time." Amos says with a nod, taking a moment to look the building over. On a whim, he pulls up one of his holo screens and decides to look up some information on the orphanage. Out of the corner of his eye, he does indeed see the group of bullies, but seeing as they seem to be behaving, he doesn;t say anything.

When Michael mentions the translation business he looks over. "Oh? That sounds like it's right up your alley. Are they going to send it over to you?

Nos Lycarin - Outside the Lyterran Orphanage

"Heh I suppose so... Oh and they just have! Michael replies to Amos, looking down at his communicator.

"This isn't too bad actually...." Michael says to himself reading the text a few times, his brain quickly simulating the possible meanings of it and the thought etymology of its design. How he does this...? Hell knows but he can do it better than any computer could. In only a short time typing back a response.

"Michael Sitona to Just Read The Instructions;I've decoded the message, wasn't previous familiar with it but this should be accurate. I'm forwarding the results now."
"My name is Zevai kes-Izvaizovyn Mezsh-iv-Kaas, first-in scout for the Raasavai. We come in peace, and would like to open dialogues."

Michael more than happy to do this kind of decoding job. It was fun for him to try and he did it a lot unpaid back on Armada, getting some extra funds for the Troperia couldn't be bad. He has made his communicator more than easy to see if Amos wants a look at the work he did.

Amos can look up some information on the Orphanage. It was constructed over 50 years ago to house children rescued from Terran colonies that became orphaned during attacks in nearby systems as part of a joint charity and diplomatic act by Executor Harris Grimly, a human politician for the planet with a track record of bad PR.

In addition it quickly became a location many Spaced Children, who were either abandoned on the starport or otherwise sent planet-side without parents or guardians. A rather common occurrence for Nos Lycarin due to people wanting to give them a life on a clean, fresh world that would automatically by law accommodate needs including that of medical fees which is often a primary factor.

The orphanage complex, houses currently 86 children from the ages of 6 to 18 free of charge with full food, board, education and even extra personal amenities for good behavior and performance in exams.

Troperia Bridge > Armory:

"Thanks many..." Torvahk simply replied before once again walking back to the Armory. He wasn't sure why, but it felt more laborious to walk back the same way he came than last time. Was he feeling sick? Torvahk then recalled the bits of chocolate and stale chips that he stashed in his empty ammo pouches on his powersuit and devoured them in seconds. The taste wasn't very good, and all it seemed to do is remind Torvahk about how hungry he still was. He managed to continue suppressing his needs however as he entered the armory and selected the footlocker of his choice. After removing his compressed FTX-45 Fusion Cannon and storing it inside, Torvahk removed four of the five shield tags from his neck, making sure to keep his own before storing the rest inside the footlocker.

"Your sacrifices will be honored, they will not be in vain..." Torvahk said to himself in his language before closing the footlocker and entering his own 6-digit lock for the storage device. While he wasn't able to recognize the characters, Torvahk was able to connect the dots by recalling the buttons based on their location rather than what was written on them.
