Not sure what's so "flabbergasting" about that veto. TV Tropes is not meant to be a purely serious website, some jokey stuff is OK.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHey Its That Guy needs a tag or something added to the page so that people know it's being discussed here before I can add the crowner. Unfortunately attaching the same thread to more than one page still doesn't work.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAs an example of both umm something like
- You wouldn't other wise be able to tell under the full body prosthetics that were enhance with CGI and heavy voice alteration but the guy under Unkar Plutt in Star Wars The Force Awakens is actually Simon Pegg.
- You otherwise wouldnt notice it under the mask but the Stormtrooper that got Jedi Mind Tricked in Star Wars The Force Awakens is played by Daniel Craig, the only nod to this is in the expanded materials where his ID is JD-007.

Actor Allusion covers the second example.
Both examples look like "you wouldn't know it because X, but.." is just added onto existing examples. Where X can be "so much younger", "has a tan", "before they were famous", "they lost weight for the role", "they wore a different hairstyle", etc...
Sometimes X s a trope, sometimes it is PSOC. I'm in Splitter mode for this idea; big name actors that are hard to recognize because of makeup/costuming that obscures their face sounds like a trivia-trope. Other X count on a case-by-case basis, IMO.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Since the bug is fixed, we could create the thread for Hey Its That Guy and link to this thread, as discussed earlier. Then we can get the crowner hooked up.
I may go ahead and get that thread going if it's alright with everyone (or if someone wants to do the honors, that's fine too).

Actor Allusion is when you get an actor to play something and make references to previous works and stuff like that. What I wrote had nothing to do with that at all which is more you other wise wouldn't know the actor is there because of various factors such as prosthetics and voice synth.

"in the expanded materials where his ID is JD-007." is a reference to his previous work.
That has no point to the matter that underneath the helmet is a famous actor that you otherwise wouldn't actually know who it was because he is completely covered by the Stormtrooper outfit, that's the trope I am talking about.
It's a trivia trope but still it is a trope and I have seen quite a few Hey Its That Guy wicks talking about that.
I brought up several other tropes as well.
You "win" for repeating what I said?
"big name actors that are hard to recognize because of makeup/costuming that obscures their face" still isn't Hey Its That Guy, if that's what you were trying to say.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.I got two new ideas for pages. Unrecognizable Actor, for when the character has no way to be recognized as their actor, and Major Actor Minor Role, for a famous actor who plays a minor role.
Now known as Cyber Controller![]()
By the way, if you want to create a new trope, use the YKTTW instead of the sandbox.
I'd suggest another option for the crowner:
- Merge Hey Its That Guy and Hey Its That Voice, leave them as trivia, and add a warning about saving the silliness for Role Association and not leaving Zero Context Examples.
I'm strongly against removing them as trivia, because they're two of the primary reasons I visit the trivia page. Merging them with Role Association is even worse, as it destroys their value as a source of interesting and amusing trivia by burying them in a bunch of WMG nonsense.
Remember the definition of Trivia: mostly useless but mildly interesting factoids, like the fact that Mark Hamil played both the Joker and Luke Skywalker. They are not tropes, and never have been tropes. They are trivia.

It's been a week (technically 6 days and 16ish hours) and the crowner has not really changed from "kill them merge tropes into Role Association and remove examples from Trivia pages". I think we can definitely call this now.

My thoughts too. However, before tropers start deleting examples to Trivia pages, I would like to recommend that examples, where possible, be converted to more specific trivia items such as Celebrity Voice Actor, Relationship Voice Actor or Stunt Casting.
Crown Description:
What would be the best way to fix the page?

I know our last attempt at fixing these tropes didn't turn out so well, thanks in large part to a rather flabbergasting
Executive Veto. However, I think it's worth another try, and so I have made a new Page Action crowner
.
Proposals deliberately omitted from the crowner include outright cutting (thousands of inbounds tend to rule that out), false-redlinking (which might or might not be doable in conjunction with merger/example removal), and the redefinitions suggested by Memers (not specific enough, I'm afraid).
