I recently found my Spyro 3 game is missing—I have the manual and case but not the game—so I re-bought it, and Spyro 2 as well. (I wish I knew where they went but oh well XD)

The Protomen enhanced my life.Wonder if they'll have anything like the Crash/Coco swap
It might be poking the bear of the Broken Base, but I honestly wouldn't mind letting you swap out for Cynder, though that might be a bit too much work since you add on voice-acting and more player to NPC dialogue than Crash, besides the obvious in her looking different.

Honestly, you could make just as much argument for making it Ember or Flame. All three of these other dragons have equal claim to being a playable character in the original trilogy: they're characters that were playable in games way later.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Yeah, Cynder was just the first to jump into my head since Skylanders has kept her relevant and she's a confirmed love interest in at least Legend (I can't remember if Ember and Spyro were ever official or just shipping wars, it's been too long since I've played any of the non-classic games, or dipped into their fandoms).

I'm a classic purist and I'd be fine with playable Cynder. Like Coco in the Crash remakes I probably wouldn't play her much, but the option would be nice for those who want it.
NaraNumas brought up a good point though; it probably won't happen since Spyro is a lot more cutscene heavy than Crash. It'd be a lot of extra work for just a model swap.

The remakes are being done in Unreal Engine 4.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."I don't want Cynder in the classic-verse. Heck, Spyro having no love interest ala Sonic is fine by me.
Ember got an armadillo for a boyfriend.
I wouldn't mind if any of the other dragons like Cynder, Flame or Ember became 'canon' to the Classicverse. Partially because Spyro doesn't have a lot of other dragons his age to bounce off of, partly because what caused most people to dislike Cynder (Darker and Edgier backstory with loads of angst) wouldn't be a problem in the Classicverse while the latter two have become so ingrained in the fanbase that not having them around would be weird at this point.
On the topic of Cynder though, I do wonder how Activision plans to address the elephant in the room in regards to The Legend of Spyro. It may not be a favorite among classic fans but there's no denying it has a pretty big cult fanbase. Until the Reignited trilogy was announced, pretty much any Spyro fan group or anyone I knew who liked Spyro were usually Legends fans, so it's clear there's still a large number of people interested in it.
It's partly why I could actually see Cynder being added as an alt playable character. Reignited trilogy may be aimed at Classic fans but Activision seems to be aware that the Legends side still has it's own fanbase, what with both Cynder and Malefor appearing in the series that must not be named.
Ember and Flame are canon to the Classicverse. Hero's Tale is a Classic continuity title.

For the old continuity at any rate. For all we know, this may lead to (yet another) reboot that scrubs away anything that isn't from the first 3 games.
Edit: In other news, I feel like a cleanup thread for Spyro the Dragon (general) pages might be in order. The franchise has had a history of people Complaining About Shows You Don't Like on the pages in regards to one or more continuities and I've already noted a few people taking pot shots at the other continuities on the Reignited pages. I get the feeling it's only a matter of time before people start going after the other pages with all the 'classic revival' hype going on.

It needs to be moved out of the Franchise index for that matter.
I'll probably get around to making the thread when I have more time. In other news, some eagle-eyed viewers have noted the new design for the crystal dragon looks rather familiar.
Not sure if it counts as a harmless Shout-Out or a Take That!. Right now I'm filing it under harmless Shout-Out. It'll depend on if there are any more references in the game and how those references are handled.
I just realised... the dogs in Toasty don't look diabolically evil anymore.
That's an odd thing to be disappointed in.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television. It's embarrassing to admit but I've never played the first Spyro besides demos, so the current trailer doesn't do much for me in terms of "woah" factor. I can't wait to see the redesigns for 2s and 3s characters, though.
...Apparently Dark Spyro forum is still active. Surprising. They seem pretty psyched.
Dunno how I missed it before now, but this got posted on the YMMV for the Reignited Trilogy.
The music is one of my favorite things about the originals, so I have to admit I was a little worried when they said they were going to be remastering the soundtrack too. That Dark Hollow theme has helped to assuage those fears a bit. IMO it's better than any of the remastered music in the Crash remakes (which was still quite good in my opinion, just not quite up to the originals).

I listen to my old game's music a lot. That is missing a very noticeable part compared with the original. I wouldn't be able to describe it other than "a deep, overbearing part of the instruments", but it's definitely missing.

On a Spyro note, relatively new footage exists of a cancelled Xbox game from before Enter the Dragonfly.
Embedded version of :
I think you mean the bassline. It's still there, just reduced in volume. It don't mind it. It gives the track a more ethereal feel that seems a bit more appropriate to a place like Dark Hollow.
And that video is an interesting find. Though if that's the art style they were going to stick with and not a placeholder I'm kind of glad it didn't happen. Spyro's design is fine, but the environments are far too brown for a colorful, cartoony game like Spyro.

So that's what it's called.
Either my computer's audio is messed up, or by reduced in volume you mean "almost imperceptible". Either way, I miss it.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Just came here to say that A. I officially look stupid now and B. I've pre-ordered the remakes.

I'm waiting until I see if a Switch/Steam port is happening.
Supposedly a Direct is happening sometime this month which a lot of people seem to think is the reason why a Switch version hasn't been announced yet. Overall I'd probably say I'm most interested in a Steam version, if only because I feel like there's gonna be an active modding community around it.
I've seen a screenshot◊ floating around of a listing for the game that accidentally got posted to the Nintendo store, so Nintendo likely is just waiting to announce it separately on Direct.
Yeah, I wasn't a fan of Agent 9 much either. I didn't mind him in his own level, but it really annoyed me how he played completely differently in every area he appeared in.
