Incorporating some elements from the Legend series is fine by me, but remaking any of those games? Madness.
I mean, for both Spyro and Crash I don't think there should be more remakes, at least not until they've each proven themselves with a brand new game. The remakes were a good way to make them get the franchises on their feet after a long effective hiatus, but continuing to just wallow in nostalgic pandering after having already exhausted the games that are universally liked by the fanbases is just begging for the franchises to slide right back into irrelevance.
The most likely characters to be adapted from Legend of Spyro into Classic Spyro are probably Cynder, Ignitus and Malefor. I do hope they're handled with care though. I'd like Malefor to be a more threatening villain than most of the Classic baddies but not to the point of suffocatingly so.
Would also be neat if Cynder wasn't affected by Malefor in some way in a Classic reimaging. So much of her character in most adaptions is dealing with Malefor in some way. It'd be nice to see what her personality is like without Malefor's influence. She could probably end up as a sort of rival to Spyro in the games.
Ignitus could be Classic Spyro's dad but given that fanon has taken to the Raised by Dudes interpretation regarding the Artisans as a whole, it's probably unlikely now.

My thought on that is that Enter the Dragonfly was so much... nothing, that if they remade it as a full game this time and not the catastrophe it was, it could be a really good "Spyro 4", because besides the few remaining levels there would be significantly more content, to the point where it'd basically be a new game anyway.
Mostly it'd let them recycle the collectables instead of coming up with a new one, would let them re-use the "plot" and maybe make it an actual story, and expand on and help make the worlds that were already in the game not as bad. Basically it'd be a redemption quest for when Spyro collect-em-alls hit the Polygon Ceiling

Neither a Hero's Tail nor Twinsanity are games whose gameplay should affect too much future Spyro and Crash games, in my opinion. Decent experiments, but that's it.
Even if Enter the Dragonfly and the Wrath of Cortex soured the formula of the original trilogies, the formerly mentioned games are a tad too reactionary.
Influences are good, but I stand in my ground than N.Tranced and Season of Flame hit the jackpot in terms of how the franchises should have kept on evolving.
Still, Red and the Sorcerer were paralleled by Cynder and Malefor, and the latter are more popular than the former, so perhaps a combination of them would work: Cynder being a big bag, latter revealed to be corrupted, and turned into an ally; Malefor being behind most stuff, not being quite a dragon, but something more horrible... Could work.
I'd still prefer if we'd get an interpretation of Cynder that wasn't corrupted by Malefor in some way. Too much of her character in both LoS and even Skylanders revolves around her corruption by Malefor; I'd much rather prefer her Classic interpretation not be a case of corrupted by Malefor so we could see what she's like without emotional baggage; especially since a villain redemption arc had already been done by Bianca in the Classic series.
I would like to see Malefor come back as the first truly serious Classic villain though. I do hope they at least keep some of the lightheartedness with him around though. Something like how Kirby handles its final bossess and not just *death, death, DEATH* like he was in LoS.

Eh, WOC at least was a fully finished game. It rehashed a lot of the third game but at least it was finished.
Can't say the same for Enter the Dragonfly. Although if you ask me, the next game should try to introduce Cynder to the classic canon. And maybe give both Elora and Bianca something to do.
Uni catDefining isn't always a good thing. *Glances at the piles of Wangst regarding Cynder's fanbase*
Granted, Skylanders (or at least, the TV Series) did it somewhat better from what I heard in that it wasn't the *only* defining aspect of her character and moving on from it after her introduction episode but I would like other aspects of her personality to be expanded on.
In tEN she was basically a glorified Damsel in Distress and kicks the plot off because of her past and basically doesn't have a personality beyond 'I feel bad about my past'. She is shown to be cunning and a bit short-tempered in DotD but those moments are few and far between because every time she's brought into the plot it's someone crapping on her for being mind-controlled by Malefor.
The best comparison I can give is Bianca. She was basically proto-Cynder in a lot of way. Acting as a dragon to the Sorceress and had apparently taken years of verbal abuse from her yet when she finally cuts ties and joins the good side the fact that she was a former villain doesn't matter. Not only did she have more personality traits *before* turning good beyond 'bad guy' (Adorkable Minion with an F in Evil) she also pretty much slides right into the group naturally and we get a lot of funny and heartwarming moments from it.
That's what I want to see from Classicverse Cynder. More personality that can slide in naturally and play well off of others and isn't *just* 'but MUH DARK AND TROUBLED PAST!'

The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled third Grand Prix season ‘Spyro & Friends’ detailed
Small thing I found interesting: "In addition to these, you’ll have the opportunity to unlock amazing new decals, stickers and paintjobs to deck out your karts with, and a ton of awesome new skins for characters new and old, such as the Dark Spyro and Gnome Velo skins you see below:"
Probably reading too much into this, but makes me wonder if we're getting a canon Dark Classic Spyro in future games. (Even though, admittedly, I'm not a big fan of Superpowered Evil Side video game mechanics.)
Here's some videos related to the "Spyro and Friends" Grand Prix that's out for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled right now;
Reminder: Reignited Trilogy comes out for Switch and PC today. When the latter gets more mod support, I plan on buying it again for PC.
In the meantime, wanna place bets on what kinds of mods we're likely to see? I'm already expecting character mods that replace Spyro's model with Flame, Ember and Cynder to be some of the earliest ones.

Wow, somebody besides me remembers Shadow Legacy.
