By the way, have the novels ever mentioned how long has Kaz been a hikki?
Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaDid I miss an episode or Wiz appears out of nowhere? Anyway this episode puts me in the Kazuma X Megumin camp, they have great chemistry together. Also drain was an awesomely broken skill in SMT 4.
Episode 8: I feel like I'm missing something (didn't read the novel).
Thank goodness for exposition!
Anyway, the doll chase scene is iconic.
They don't have to sleep in the barn any more!?
THERE ARE LITERALLY TREES EVERYWHERE YOU DO NOT NEED TO BURN ANYONE'S CLOTHES.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.![]()
Maybe with a different party, Aque seems to have infinite MP and biggest problem is not doing anything sane, Megumin gets to negative MP so I doubt you can restore her to condition to use magic again (are MP potions not a thing in the setting?) maybe it's useful for Darkness.
Are there english translated light novels or manga to continue after the show?
There is a fan translation that finished volume 6 and got DMCA'ed just when it was starting volumen 7 +
On a different note, the novel tripled in sales since the announcement of the anime.
Wiz must be the nicest lich I've ever seen. And she's in charge of the barrier surrounding the Demon Lord's hideout. Adventurers should just end her and the path will be open... Of course, killing her would just earn them the scorn of the citizenry who benefit from her services. ...That Demon Lord sure is clever, huh?
Heh~, Verdia really was that kind of guy. -Look of contempt-
Being the goddess of cult... Sucks to be you, Aqua.
Add storyteller to Aqua's repertoire. She sure was into telling it all day.
Never doubted that Aqua could handle all them ghosts. Just don't get between her and high-class booze. Or you're dead. You're all dead!
That doll army sure brought its A-game. Anyone would jizz their pants. Yep, Megumin and (especially)Kaz were in quite the pinch situation.
Aqua, ya gotta solve more problems than creating more problems, ya know?
Really? Didn't really feel broken when I used it...
If she is a real Lich Aqua's purification wouldn't have done much at all. To outright kill a Lich you have to destroy their phylactery or else they are just like Voldemort and just come back.

Won't even need some dumb underling to perform some insanely complicated ritual or anything. Just wait a few days and *poof* as good as new.
Honestly, I'm surprised they didn't mention the phylactery at all. I mean, I get that "lich" is one of those cool foreign words, particularly to Japan, but you'd think they'd take a moment to call attention to the one trait that distinguishes a lich from any other kind of undead that isn't a vampire or ghost.

In Japanese RP Gs, Liches just equate to undead spellcasters, and don't carry over the same special hang-ups its origins in D&D had.
Yeah, the anime skipped a chapter of the novel where another lich appears and it doesn't have any phylactery and Aqua does purify it without problems. It is kind of sad that wasn't adapted because Aqua actually acts as a goddess for once.
Speaking of things not adapted, for some reason Megumin's cat doesn't appear in the anime
Episode 8. In which there are cute dolls and frightening liches.
Might be less cold if you put on some pants. Or panties. Or the clothes you had the bright idea to burn.
A fire doesn't blow out like that. It's not a candle. On the other hand, it looks like mostly ashes and embers left. Which, by the way, you can easily light up again by blowing on it. Actually blowing on it, and not just making blowing sounds with your mouth like she does.
She's a very cute lich.
I'm not sure she's the person to go to to learn combat skills. On the other hand, it's that kind of series.
Okay, that's a funny reason to get afraid of her. And not entirely inaccurate. Although the animation department missed the great opportunity to have Aqua slowly chance expression as what Wiz said sank in.
She's really putting her faith into them not killing her by telling them she's actually their enemy. But she's a very friendly enemy.
Her using her skills on Aqua. This is going to be fun, no matter how it turns out.
I wonder how much she actually lives up to being one of the bosses of the evils, since it's kind of hard to tell how powerful her drain would actually be, what with Aqua actually being a goddess, so her resistance against negative energy would probably be through the roof.
She has no concept of time, does she?
She's lovely with her hair that way. Personality is still what it always is, though.
I'm not quite sure that's something that would go away if you close your eyes and pretend it doesn't exist.
Eyes that glow in the dark are cute.
I can see why that would be vaguely disconcerting.
Shortcuts are bad, m'kay?
I certainly wouldn't have minded more episodes with Wiz, like actually introducing her properly. She's adorable.

Check out my fanfiction!Aqua's more OP than anyone else, within her specialties. The other two does have their uses, though, since one of them can attack. Once. If the area is big enough. And there aren't innocents around. Who're not Darkness. Darkness is a good tank.
Check out my fanfiction!

By the way, this series is another victim of Kadokawa syndrome, as we're getting only 10 regular episodes and one OAV (which will apparently feature Yun Yun). Which is too bad, as I'd rather have her introduced in the series proper instead.
