News websites use click bait, comic book movie/Disney haters use it for agenda.
The drop according to Boxofficemojo is 67.1%. Actual numbers for the total would probably be 2.2 to 2.5x the opening weekend for the domestic side.
It's not as much as Superman but they still are showing up. The reason Disney should worry is the "not as much" part. I think that is why people are trying to make it seem like the drop was worse. It is juicier.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI saw a clip from den of nerds where he talking about that this problem that the marvel movies are having have nothing to do with quality control or whatever and it's kind of a little bit more complicated with the fact they keep dropping marvel content once a year and if it was quality control fantastic four would be doing a lot better in the box office.
I don't know everybody feel about him but I am going to assume people here would disagree on something relating to Superman's box office where he said it was underwhelming and something about Lilo and Stitch being bad but kind of in the way where it was a failure and and the worst movie because supposedly Stitch said "Fuck Ohana" (it's probably not that far off from what actually happened in the movie that people feel negative about) despite it made it to 1 billion and will get a sequel written by Chris Sanders.
This article points out it's not just Marvel or even Super Heroes that are doing badly, most of Disney's latest projects are tanking, Disney+ is said to be the cause.

The Scrappy of the Trope Pantheon, God of Thumps
They actually got Disney plus a semblance of profitability with the Hulu ESPN bundle. They clearly cant just kill Disney Plus to bring back value to their brands but they got an inconsistency of profits from Disney Plus because of it.
Getting a budgeter is the first thing they need to get after their current show lineup is over

Pantheon server for all who click here. Lost too much money and time, this coaster ain’t stopping. They could do what paramount plus does, keep the older stuff on but only show the new stuff for a brief time. So you've got to have the service to catch things. They also take longer to come on their.
e.g. It currently doesn't have D&D: Honour Among Thieves. It has Sonic 1 & 3 but not 2 and the first six Mission Impossibles but not either of the reckoning duology.

It’s performing the same as the original. It should make about the same amount. Hardly underperforming.
You’re Gonna Carry That Weight.Bump. Deadline is expecting Weapons to win the weekend with a $38M opening. Not bad given it’s a $42M budget. Freakier Friday is looking at $30M; it’s also $42M budget so that’s not bad.

You’re Gonna Carry That Weight.Cue the "Marvel is OVER" from all the people in the box office related sites and subs on Reddit who have no idea what they're talking about. F4 will be just fine. Marvel will be just fine. Chill, everybody.
The hardest thing in this world is to live in it.A case can be made for why people think F4 wasn't terribly successful (even though it will at least turn a profit, combined with merchandise and so forth). Iger seems satisfied, it's getting a sequel, nothing to worry about.
But Spiderman and Avengers teamup not doing well? I don't think anyone believes that will happen.
The hardest thing in this world is to live in it.Which is why I’m not focusing on it. I’m focusing on this weekend’s movies.
You’re Gonna Carry That Weight.Aren't you the one not being chill if you going to keep talking about the opinions of reddit?
It's relevant to the discussion of the state of such films at the box office, is it not? Or are we not allowed to reference discussions on sites outside of this one?
If I'm breaking a rule, my apologies. I'm finished commenting on the subject.

The hardest thing in this world is to live in it.At the very least F4 merch does seem to be selling well. I just tried reserving some of the Marvel Legends figures from Walmart and just got notified that they ran out. They didn't even have Ben available at all!
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks Marathon

There is clearly something going on here such as how people keep repeating "86% drop" when that actually refers to the Friday numbers not the weekend.
But people keep acting like it does to make the weekend drop sound worse than it actually is.
