It's...fine. It isn't a big profit, but it isn't a huge money-loser either. If it hadn't come out so soon after Blue Beetle and The Marvels (and less than a year after Flash), and so soon before Madame Web, we would be calling it a failure, but as of the current superhero climate it is a fine neutral result.

I made some money. It probably wouldn't be greenlighting any sequels anyway, but it made some money. The movie's marketing was also really modest compared to Black Adam and Flash which had comically ballooned marketing budgets on top of their comically ballooned production budgets.
It's a disappointment for sure. But still a moneymaker.
Blue Beetle isn't really part of the conversation. Claiming it bombed is a bit unfair when it was dumped with minimal marketing and then sent to streaming. The theater run served to get it decent word of mouth for its inevitable dump to streaming for the holidays, which it served quite well.

Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Any worries about Kung Fu Panda 4 underperforming at the box office? I do: Minimal marketing and being released one week after the hyped Dune 2 doesn't help.
Hollywood Reporter is saying that Gladiator 2 has had its budget balloon to $310 Million.
How likely is it to make its money back?
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire. Not much, it would have to make around 700 million to be considered a success. Granted when adjusted to inflation the original made 336 million domestically, but these kinds of histrical epics sadly aren't very popular anymore (at least on the silver screen, tv is another matter).
Children of Dievas - my webcomic about the Northern CrusadesConsidering Ridley Scott very recently released a historical epic that underperformed in Napoleon (2023), that costed around $200 million. Again, it's a tall order that might have not been an issue if the post-lockdown filmgoing experience didn't throw a wrench in things.
And people wonder why Paramount is in trouble like come on....
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."They're also about to lose their biggest asset, which has got to hurt.
I didnt know studios "Owned" actors after the Golden Era Of Hollywood
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here. What was the first movie’s budget, roughly? I feel like budgets have increased disproportionately more than what you’d expect from just inflation in the past decade, and that doesn’t always seem justified by better visuals…
It cost $103 Million, according to Wikipedia.

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Budget bloat is still an increasing problem in Hollywood and they refuse to rein it in.
What’s weird is that it has somehow gotten worse after covid, as if the studios’ brains were still stuck in 2019, when there was a billion-dollar hit every month.
Oh, it’s a bit more than I thought.

Gladiator 2's genre isn't even as special FX and CGI reliant as superhero movies or sci-fi movies so where the hell did that $310 million go?
That's a common misconception.
Practical effects can be cheaper than special effects, but not always. A movie that would forego CGI (and we don't know that Gladiator 2 doesn't have CGI), doesn't neccessarily mean it would be cheaper.
Plus, some sources say the budget could be as much as $60 million less than 310. And the production did recieve slightly more than $50 million in government rebates.
So the actual operating budget could be about $100 million less than some reports.
I look at Killers of the Flower Moon budget and you can deadass know that Martin went all in with practical effects and managed to still balloon his budget.
Like... yay more jobs but should get an economist you trust

Pantheon server for all who click here. Freaking lost $410 and I am hunting down for a nuke to reign down....Do you mean accountant?
The entirety of society must revolve around Martin Scorcese films
Pantheon server for all who click here. Freaking lost $410 and I am hunting down for a nuke to reign down.I just thought "yeah, I guess an economist would help."
But it's a bit like getting a professor of physics when what you need is a practical engineer.
It should be noted, that movies continue to make money long after they have been released. So a flop isn't always that bad businesswise.
Also getting big-name actors in movies isn't cheap, unless you're Christopher Nolan and can convince every actor who works for you to take a pay cut from their salaries.
Do we think that after Wonka and Dune, Timothee Chalamet is gonna be considered a major Hollywood star in the vein of Tom Cruise? Like a major box office draw?

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Nope, he may be having his moment now, but it takes more than two movies to become a A list star. Also, I am not sure that Tom Cruise is a guaranteed draw. Look at MI:7
Black Adam made $394.5 million out of a budget of approximately between $190-260 million.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods made $134 million out of a budget of approximately between $110-125 million.
Ezra Miller Flash made $271.3 million out of approximately $200-220 million.
And lastly, Blue Beetle made $130.8 million out of approximately $104-125 million.
