According to the Hollywood Reporter
, Disney is hiring for AI development gigs. 180 K a year…
This is not gonna help the strike at all.
You’re Gonna Carry That Weight.
The Scrappy of the Trope Pantheon, God of Thumps
Yup. Feels like this is going to go worse than the 2008 strike.
We're gonna really feel its effects by next year in the Hollywood area.
Pantheon server for all who click here. Lost too much money and time, this coaster ain’t stopping.Anyway barbie passed 500 million. 750 million by the weekend. Hey seems Margot Robbie was right it would make a billion which is now locked.
Mission impossible 7 is dead though. It's unlikely to pass 500 million at the rate where going. Which is bad you know on a 295 million budget.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Yep. Opened third. The Paramount and Skydance sequel opened to just $25.9 million from Friday to Sunday, a steep tumble from Mission: Impossible Fallout‘s $76 million opening back in 2018.
Wow. That's horrendous.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Then TMNT really has to perform… and then Robbins has to have a word with whoever dates the films.
You’re Gonna Carry That Weight.Yeah I'm shocked at how badly mission impossible is doing but it really should have moved.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadHow do things look for TMNT? It’s doing really good on Rotten Tomatoes, so that may help?
UPDATE: Box Office Pro is predicting $27-36 million for the three day, $39-55 million for the five day. How does that sound? Remember that the budget is $70-80 million and sequels have already been announced.
In the meantime, I bought a ticket to Haunted Mansion tonight. We will see how it compares to other versions. Maybe it’ll have good legs like Elemental.
Actually, how much will Haunted Mansion need to break even?

You’re Gonna Carry That Weight. If the strike keeps going, the irony that the US Release of Godzilla Minus One could be pretty damn good because the film industry can't promote anything else by the end of the year would make me chuckle.
Watch SymphogearMission impossible dead reckoning is dead.
This is so bAffling they did put it here. It has an A cinema score, good word of mouth, a 90 on rotten tomatoes. And franchise goodwill. Which uh they blew on a bad air date.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Being another nearly $300 Million budgeted movie doesn’t help. Maybe once the strike is over, Hollywood tries to cap it at $200 mil.
You’re Gonna Carry That Weight. With any luck, executives will start thinking about bringing back the mid-range budget movies.
You’re Gonna Carry That Weight.God, I hope so. I really want more movies like Get Out! and The Invisible Man (2020), movies that managed to be a great box office hit despite having like budget of $5 million.

Well, that's just horror in general.
Horror movies are basically recession proof and were even largely COVID proof due to things like: small casts, often of unknown actors, few locations, practical effects, and very brief shoot times.
It's also, of course, why so many bad horror movies get made.

Fair enough points.
I guess that's why there are several blockbuster directors who debut/make their breaks with horror/thriller films, such as James Wan, Sam Raimi, Peter Jackson, and so many more.

Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.

Rise of the Pink Ladies got removed from Paramount+ despite only being on there for a few months and getting nominated for an Emmy. Plus Paramount was the company that famously cut up a bunch of trees around the actors strike picketers.
Whether they're as bad as Zaslav right now is kind of a pointless question because they're bad.
Remember when Disney pissed off their entire company and triggered a feud with a homophobic governor and somehow bumblefucked themselves into being the hero of the situation?
I guess Paramount and Warner don't have the same combination of dumb luck, good will and adaptability.
You are not alone.
