And the Reinvented version was...not well liked, to say the least of long time E3 host Geoff Keighly leaving it beforehand and confimring on social media that what he saw was not something he thought would go over well with people.

On one hand it will mean Crowbcat gets to make a video detailing the cringe at E3 again. On the other hand, there probably won’t be that much cringe if it’s not going to be in-person.

Given the massive #MeToo-ing that's been going on in there recently, I'm not exactly expecting to get knocked off my socks over here...

You think Microsoft and/or Nintendo will announce any big studio acquisitions?

After Zenimax, I think it's a bit soon for Microsoft to be announcing any other new acquisitions.

I wouldn't mind seeing Nintendo working with some Japenese devs that Sony just slammed the door on. As far as acquisitions go, not so sure. Nintendo's policy of late has been to only talk about stuff when its near ready, so (monkey's paw intensifies) ideally their show will be focused on finally delivering some Bot W 2 news, perhaps with a dash of Metroid and Bayo. Splatoon 3 while just recently announced is set for next year so not-unlikely there will be something there, but just as likely we don't see it again until they have a direct for it closer to launch.

The one thing we can definitely expect from Nintendo at E3 is a Smash reveal. Beyond that and what you mentioned, who knows what they're up to right now?

Nintendo is very conservative about buying other developers and they just bought out Next Level Games a couple of months ago (and the previous was Monolith Soft back in 2007).

And Nintendo wouldn't likely announce it at E3.

We now know someone who *won't* be coming to E3 2021: Konami

They say it's due to conflicts in timing, but is anyone even holding their breaths over this?

Apparently they've been going hard into video games lately (Perhaps due to the Big Sick affecting their golden goose Pachinko, I dunno.). Do I honestly give a shit that they are making games right now?......Well actually that questions comes with an asterisk, they outsource some remasters (Like a Suikoden Collection I would buy.) then I might care a little, but otherwise I would be VERY wary of anything they'd announce. Not to mention alot of their current releases have been Japan only.

I'd honestly like to see the Metal Gear games get a modern rerelease. Especially 4 since that remains PS3 only.

But that's going to go into my "things that won't happen even though I really want them to" box.

Konami in general feels like its in a transition period; basically doing/licensing more modest stuff like Getsu Fuma Den and Momotaro Dentetsu for safe profits while bigger projects are getting worked on.

Gung Ho USA is the one that is the most baffling.

I want to assume that Gung Ho's involvement regards some news relating to Ninjala. Since season 5 of the game is slated to end two days after E3, that probably means that there will be an announcement for Ninjala Season 6 at Nintendo's conference.

Guess it's too much to hope for HD ports of Grandia 3, Xtreme, and/or the Gameboy Color one?

I'm just hoping the rumors about a new 3d Donkey Kong game are true. Although it might not be 3d... (Supposedly it'll be announced at e3)

Ubisoft will have a Ubisoft Forward presentation for E3, but don't hold your breath for anything on Skull & Bones, which I think was supposed to be their response to Sea of Thieves, but then became something else, isn't showing up.

Worse, it got pushed to 2022.

(Geez, what is this, the Duke Nukem Forever of pirate games?)

Eh, screw Ubisoft. At least until they give some demonstrable proof that they've done something about the work culture that was exposed last summer.
