Okay, second attempt at doing this due to a moderator misunderstand what I'm trying to argue for. I'm not arguing about Dangerously Genre-Savvy being misused. Far from it. I'm instead, arguing that its name needs to be changed because due to its name being a Bad Snowclone of Genre Savvy.
I believe Dangerously Genre-Savvy was intended to be a Subtrope to Genre Savvy while the latter trope was decaying, hens the snowclone. Now that we've fixed the Trope Decay of Genre Savvy, it's now a lot more apparent that Dangerously Genre-Savvy was never a Sub-Trope in the first place. After all, while Dangerously Genre-Savvy is about "characters taking advantage on how things usually go within their world for their own benefit, showing just how clever or wise a character is", Genre Savvy, in contrast, is now determined by us to specifically be about "demonstrating knowledge gained from pieces of literature". A person doesn't have to be Genre Savvy in order to demonstrate the trope "Dangerously Genre-Savvy" since the reason for them being that shrewd doesn't have to come from them knowing fiction.
So that I don't get on the moderators' bad side, this will be the last time I'll be trying to open a thread about this. If they lock this thread again, I won't try to open another.
