Not sure if I'll have the time to dedicate to this RP, but I can gladly say I'm interested. Good 'ol space opera~
If you don't mind me asking, what sort of tone can we expect the RP to take? I assume there's room for silliness if you embrace Rule of Cool, but are we talking something more akin to Mass Effect or Borderlands on the ratio of seriousness to humor?
As for race ideas... I've got nothing specific in mind (Though I could scrounge something up if you'd rather I do so), but what do you think of the idea of an insectoid race? I've often been fascinated by the concept and their potential applications, and Insectoid Aliens are right at home in science fiction.

First things first, the ratio of humor to silliness will sort of jump back and forth. For the most part, I think it'll be more like Boderlands than Mass Effect.
Second, I'm not against an Insectoid Race. If you've got a solid idea, then write it up. I'm not a Racist.
Yes. That is something I'd say Psychic Powers are capable of.
WOOOOOO GM NOT BEING RACI- *ahem* Thank you.
I’ve given it some thought, here’s something I’ve cooked up. I apologize that this is a lot wordier than what you have for other races, but I tried to stick to what felt “necessary” according to what I'm used to. Tell me how it looks and if anything should be cut or changed…
- Urani: A race of aliens from Uranus, having evolved from insects to deal with the planet’s harsh climate patterns with a combination of their genetic diversity and versatile knack for survival.
- Their government is heavily religious, fostering the belief that their kind was “blessed by the gods of the seasons to test the order of nature”. Their female pope’s authority is limited in their modern age- she is simply the figurehead of a “hive-mind-like” congress that takes survey of the population’s pheromones over time and enacts laws that are most statistically likely to improve the race’s prosperity (Whatever they might agree that constitutes, in addition to just “Less dying, more living”)- but not many are willing to argue against the hive’s decisions.
- The Urani are physically gifted, with exoskeletons that act like a layer of light, plate-like armor and an extra pair of arms for combat or mundane tasks. But while they’re not so closed minded as to reject technology, they are, how do I say… veeeeeeeeery slow to learn how to efficiently use firearms and other complex machines. Simple melee weapons such as photon lances and heat swords are easier to get a grip on (Pun not intended I swear), but their ranged weaponry remains relatively archaic compared to other races, relying mostly on unwieldy and predictable ammunition such as arrows and needles. Their tendency to develop psychic powers is... unremarkably average.
- Urani vary significantly in body types, but they all share a few trademarks of alien insects- chitin exoskeleton, two antennae on their heads, four arms, digitigrade legs, and beady technicolor eyes. Adults may stand approximately as short as 3 feet or as tall as 6 feet. Urani born during the warm season have short tufts of moth-like fur around their shoulder joints, while those born in the coldest years of winter seasons have fluff all over their torso and half of their limbs. Their bodies vary shades of green, black, and red. They have no “proper” hair, but those born into warrior castes often develop a horn (or a row of horns) on their head. Conversely, everyone born outside of the warrior castes tend to develop clear, beetle-esque wings (Which do not let them fly, to their dismay. In fact, they’re more prone to make them a larger target to nonlethal pain than anything else. But they can make a very bold fashion statement).
- Easily peeved off by Uranus jokes.

Hmm...I like this race. The Urani are accepted into the Galactic Sea canon. XD I'll add the race into the race list.
Any animal-save for insects-are acceptable as long as they originate from Earth. So any Mammal, Reptile, Amphibian, Fish, and Avians are acceptable.
Only one Animal-per-Beastkin. No Chimeras.
Considering Centaurs and Satyrs are, respectfully, horse and goat people, I'll allow this. But nothing along the lines of Dragons or Phoenixes or anything to that effect.

Short Answer: As the name implies, they're Space Cops.
They were formed by a collective effort of the various planetary governments. They don't exactly answer to any of them exclusively.
Each planet has it's own Government and each government has a head-or, in some cases, a council that acts as a collective head. They're representatives for an Alliance, which is larger and has more power then the governments separately.
While there's no crime against a Mercenary being...well, a Mercenary, people tend to go to them for shadier, 'Oh my God, I can't tell the GPF all the details of this job' work. So they tend to not have the best rep. The GPF also doesn't take sides in wars, which is another benefit to Mercenaries. And just like real life, there are good cops and bad cops, but for the most part, they're a Lawful Good organization.

Space.
Some time ago, it was always said to be the final frontier. The extent of human engineering, the farthest step mankind could ever go. But as technology continued to advance, and resources on Earth started to dwindle, people began to realize that Mankind couldn't just stop at space-they had to go even further than that. When Humans stepped on the moon, it seemed they attracted the attention of more than just star dust and solar winds. They were met with Aliens.
Hostility and unease was present, but over time, peace was made. An unsteady, nervously made peace, but peace nonetheless. And with that peace, came a new age. An Age of Exploration, Science, Mystery. From the red sands of Mars to the vibrant jungles of Venus and beyond.
But with this new age, came something else: Danger, Villainy, and Destruction. Whether it's prejudice of other races, businesses fueled by nothing but their own hunger and greed, or just a man's own cold-blooded hateful nature, nowhere is safe. But with that uncertainty and fear, comes opportunity and adventure.
So grab your raygun and strap on your jetpack! And set sail across the Galactic Sea!
Well then, time to put the theatrics aside! Ironic, really, considering the RP this is.
Galactic Sea: Cosmic Tales is based heavily on Pulp Science Fiction and Space Opera genres, set in a Raygun Gothic setting. This is, as to be expected, very Science Soft-after all, Venus IRL is way too hot to have jungles. But considering this is a mix of Raygun Gothic and Space Opera, this RP runs less on Scientific Laws and more on the Rule of Cool.
You, as in the player, are adventurers, otherwise known as 'Mercenaries'. As a Merc, you take the jobs that the Galactic Police Force(GPF) don't-either because they're shady, they don't wanna pay for their services, or some other reason. But whatever it may be, you'll do various adventures/jobs, from various sources that will take up their own 'Episodes'/'Chapters'. Some adventures may or may not be connected to each other. If your character dies during a mission-either because you wanted them to die or...I'm just being a jerk, then you can make a new character to join the party in the next episode.
You can give your character just about anything, just so long as your not giving them Disintegrator Rays(These were outlawed after the Beastkin War of 1912), invisible armor that can never be pierced or cut, or anything game-breaking or reality bending. Magic does not exist, BUT you can supplement it with technology if you're smart about it. Again, Rule of Cool is in full swing.
Psychic Powers are a thing. Any race of the races, save for the Biotrons down below, can be Psychic. But one of the races, the Venuxians, are the most well known Psychics, as all of their kind are capable of using Psychic Abilities.
Race List
If you have an idea for a race, don't hesitate to suggest it. Keep in mind if it's too powerful, it won't be accepted.
That should be all. If there's any questions, please don't hold them back.
Accepted Characters
