Hangar 10
Katrina walked in, along with four other instructors, two male, two female, a wearing pilot suits. In order from female to male, starting with Katrina, their badges read...
- K. Schafer
- L. Anderson
- A. Myers
- S. Princeton
- P. Thompson
By now, most of the class was gathered in the hangar as the instructors took places in front of the Stahls.
"Alright, welcome to your first day at this prestigious institute. As you all will notice, we have not bought in your requested models for this exercise."
With hands firmly behind her back, she paced back and forth.
"Regardless of what year student you are, all of you will go through basic orientation and training in the piloting of a standard robot. No exceptions."
She paused for effect.
"There is, however, a slight change from the previous years at Principal Schafer's request. There will be no combat drills until tomorrow afternoon. Today, we shall go over the basic movement and usage of weapons of ground units, as well as to test your existing capabilities. However, for those who think they are able, we have a special exercise planned after the end of this one."
She paused again, taking a deep breath.
"But first, your instructors. I am Katrina Schafer, acting vice principal and elite instructor."
L. Anderson stepped forward, brushing a stray brown hair away from her eyes, hairs just reaching the top of her back.
"I am Leona Anderson, the basic fundamentals instructor. Should you need to go over the basics, attend my classes. Tomorrow morning's first lesson is compulsory for everyone."
She stepped back again. A. Myers then stepped forward, curly red hair reaching her shoulders.
"Hello, I am Annemarie Myers, resident aerial expert instructor. For those of you who have a desire to pilot flying units, my classes are compulsory for the next few days. You will be informed of the times via PATCH."
She gave a quick smile and stepped backwards. It was now Princeton's turn to step forward, looking as professional with his neatly cropped black hair.
"Sigmund Princeton, tactics teacher. For those who are elected squad leaders, you will have my class to attend to. No excuses or exceptions."
He stepped back as quickly as he stepped forwards. Lastly, P. Thompson walked up, light glinting off his bald head.
"And finally, I am Percival Thompson, combat instructor. Combat drills, techniques and sparring are my responsibility."
He stepped back. Apart from Katrina, who looked to be in her 20's, the rest of the instructors looked to be mid 30's to early 40's.
Dorian grinned slightly at the gesture, usually between friends -I am actually getting accepted into a PHYSICAL community!
When the teachers introduced themselves, he said, entirely honestly "Okay, all you sound like you have the whole vital knowledge thing going on! Can't wait to learn from you!"
"However, isn't upgrading and engineering Mecha very vital? Why do you not have a guy for that?"

Stepping away from Dorian and a little confused as to why he was seemingly smiling, Reiner listened in to the announcements.
The blond teen immediately looked over the women who walked in, and found himself well and truly thinking in terms of which teacher he wanted to be hot for. However despite giving the appearance perhaps to any mindreaders that he was a truly perverted man, he wasn't neglecting what they were saying.
He was not the sort to expose himself to any sort of inadequacy or slack.
Well, time to give a good showing of my abilities this year. Though the shift from today's combat drills to tomorrow is strange. Did something happen?
As soon as Katrina mentioned a special exercise, however, Reiner's eyes were on her. He always looked for ways to prove excellent, and this exercise sounded like something he could benefit from.
He immediately slightly stepped forward, as if inferring he'd like to demonstrate he could show basic movement and use of weapons and such.

Leo stepped forward and asked to Annemarie "I'm wingwoman Bradley, USAF, on wich unit the flying excercises will be carried over?".
" Please be a Skye, Please be a Skye, Please be a Skye!!!" She plead in her mind.

"No defiant last words, Dr. Jones?" "I like Ike"Leo raised her hand with a slight grin, it was the perfect opportunity to try out a REAL mecha.
But she's feeling a bit nervous, since mecha fighting was WAY more different than fighter combat, or at least thats how the manuals she read about Stahl fighting made her believe...
Hangar 10
"Alright, six volunteers...Reiner, Wakeland, Bradley, Roy and Besruchko, you're up. Get in the Stahls, and insert your PATCH in the appropriately marked docking socket, above the HUD."
Zach climbed up, opening the hatch and dropping into the cramped, slightly claustrophobic cockpit. He pulled out his PATCH, slotting it in above the viewing window.
"It's a little close in here...."
His voice echoed from inside to outside.
"Get used to it. From here on, Mrs Anderson will guide you."
Reiner moved quickly up to one of the Stahls, getting in quickly and like someone practised and used to such a machine. He'd be in the lead, he knew, so he'd have to make sure they got the basic idea.
Opening the hatch and looking over the HUD and controls, making sure everything was right in here.
He put the PATCH in - business as usual - and got ready, making sure shortly that his arms and legs didn't have any tension. A cocky smirk showed on his face.

Dorian laughs maniacally like a Mad Scientist as he crawls into his mech "AHAHAHAHA! I HAVE IT! THE MOST PERFECT MACHINE! THE NEXT STEP! AHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHH! HOLYSHITIGOTTARECORD" he said, placing his laptop on the mech, and jacking it into it
"THIS IS IT! BEHOLD, THE NEXT STEP IN SCIENCE! YES! YES! YEEEEEEEEEES! I AM NOW A HARBINGER OF THE FUTU— oh, right. Audience. HEY! GUYS! I am inside! You are seeing through the mech's eyes right now. For extra immersion, watch this on the Oculus! Now, you are going to be subjected to the greatest sight yet! BEHOLD, THE FUTURE OF TECH!"
Leo climbed inside the cockpit, a bit cramped, but for her it wasn't much roomier than the usual cockpit of a fighter.
"Hmm, kinda remind me of the cockpit of a F-34" she remarked with a grin.
She plugged the PATCH on the socket above her and cracked her knuckles while a devilish grin formed on her face.
"I'm ready and awaiting for instructions, Ma'am! Let's fire up these babies!" The tomboy said all excited and giddy.
"Aaand... fail" Dorian said
"Heh. Sorry about that. Uh, I got... a little too excited about this thing. Uhm. I have... certain plans for it. I observed the schematics... heh. I have plans. Very interesting plans" he said, clearly just saying something 'cool', though it just made him seem more socially awkward "Yep. Back to high school"
James yawned, these pups were getting too wet all over a hunk of junk called a Stahl.
You're probably jealous, He thought to himself, Not so, friend. They haven't witnessed the capabilities of the Skye fighter yet.
He turned around to face his new cyborg buddy and said, "What do you think of that thing?"
"In the grim darkness of the future, there is only war.""Alright, now activate the pilot mode of your PATCHES."
Zachary put on his PATCH, screen illuminating the darkness. Several buttons popped up as a figure of the Stahl appeared. A map of the nearby area also appeared, the other four Stahls marked with blue dots.
The buttons read
- Objectives
- Data
- PATCH Situation Analysis
- System Functions
- Deactivate
- Strategic Map
"Geez, and this is the simplified version..."
The lights on the Stahls lit up as the PATCHs were inserted. The hum as the engines started filled the hangar. According to the HUD, the units were in 100% condition, all areas in the green, and the Volaska Cell was at 95% efficiency.

Reiner chuckled at her remark, "Wannabe? I'm afraid I grew out that label with my last few satisfied shall we say, friends with za benefits."
He put his arms back down, and then noted the things Dorian said, and momentarily thought about when and where this guy entered, but decided he was getting a little too big for his britches.
He promptly walked over to Dorian and quickly and roughly rubbed his fist against the fellow's head numerous times, and stated to Leo while doing this, looking over the area again, "Sorry, Pretty Leo, but I'm afraid I see no Skye Units in this Hangar."
X-X-X-X-X-X
Helmut straightened up and rubbed the back of his head wincing at his lapse in organization. Usually he was very good with messages and organization! "Sorry, sorry, sorry, sir."
Helmut calmed down and laid out the files, "The advances programs laid out in these files would test the students here in use of new simulator developed by Hymbach Corp. Essentially, it takes za historical situation, reinterprets it to have Mecha and such, and then lets za students involve themselves with few risks and maximum experience gained."
