- Name: Ardelle Sanderssen
- Alias: Lockdown
- Hero/Villain: Villain
- Registered?: Registered, on Parole
- Sex: F
- Age: 40
- Appearance: Ardelle
is super short, only around five feet tall. Her figure is built enough from running and fighting, but is on the more skinny side. Her fingers are functional and calloused, with short nails. Her hair is black and straight running to her shoulder, threaded with gray in some parts.
- Her costume is basically a suit of light ablative armor. She rocks a chestpiece patterned with stone bricks over a black tee, with a waist-length cape on the back designed for easy detachment. She wears tight black leggings with boots and a full-face round black helmet with a horizontal slot for her eyes.
- Assets:
- A house in the suburbs with its loan fully paid off
- A Glock-19
- A big sturdy truck
- Power/abilities/skills:
- Ardelle can concentrate on objects in her line of sight and slow them down. This is done at a flat rate, so objects moving fast take more effort to slow. This can't work on organic matter or anything directly touching organic matter.
- History:
- Ardelle's been in the business awhile. She grew up in the rough part of town, with a Dad working in a factory as a foreman and Mom staying home to raise her and her two younger brothers. Not a good house, not a good school, not a good life, so when a local super-fight ended with a time-controlling Supervillain exploding all over the front of a factory, Ardelle saw a shot at escaping. She touched the remains of this time wizard guy, and her life only went up from there. Ardelle dominated schoolyard fights with low-key power usage and became an intimidating ruler of the immediate High School social scene, but all that shit kept her from focusing on a future past that.
- Yeah, of course she managed to get into college with a combination of legitimacy and power exploitation, supposedly cursing any faculty with bad luck if they crossed her, but she just sort of shuffled through it until she got her first tuition payment. Jesus christ, she did not have that kind of money. So that was the first time Ardelle suited up in shitty improvised armor, and she never looked back.
- She finished college in between moonlight robberies, fighting off the occasional superheroic threat later in the year, and became a career criminal once she graduated. She met a cute guy in her off time on a dating website, and they hit it off pretty well. He inspired her, gave her something to keep fighting for. She kept moonlighting as a supervillainess for awhile, laid off the game for a little while to have a honeymoon and get her shit together, but Registration, and this whole Villain Parole thing, rolled around right as she was starting to settle in and get domestic. If she was committed to this marriage, maybe she could stand to stop committing crimes on a weekly basis. She saw it more as a way to break her habit, but still.
- And imagine her surprise when she was paired with fucking Terminal, a long-time rival due to his ability to accelerate crap and directly counter her powers. Then imagine further surprise as Terminal turned out to be motherfucking Harold, her husband. The marriage has recently fallen on hard times, to put it lightly. They're figuring it out.

On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home.Name: Akihiro Kawaguchi
Alias: Kukaze
Hero/Villain: Anti-Hero, technically Hero... I guess?
Registered?: No
Sex: Male
Age: 24
Appearance: Akihiro is a young Japanese man with black hair, thin eyebrows, spiked hair, and grey eyes. He wears a black t-shirt, grey jacket, jet black pants with white stripes on the sides. As Kukaze he wears a jet black jumpsuit with pitch black silicon armor, with a helmet with a flat face, two thin, glowing-blue visors, and flat, silicon spider mandibles Assets:
Blacklight Armor: The black jumpsuit with silicon armor, as described above. He cannot use any abilities without it. And, of course, use his Katana without, you know, extreme amounts of radiation seeping into his skin.
Blacklight Katana: Summoned from the gauntlet on his armor, it is a jet black plasma katana. It can cut through metal.
Blacklight Shurikens: Summoned in groups of 10, they are dark purple darts and stars.
Power/abilities/skills:
Release Steam: His armor has a valve on the right gauntlet which gathers water from the air and releases steam that is basically a functional smoke bomb
Invisibility
Short-ranged Blink
Disguise: He can disguise as anyone he gets at least a pint of blood or handful of hair from. Anyone perceptive enough could notice faint shimmering that betrays his true self
Deception: He can release 3 holographic copies of himself
Wall-Walking
History: Akihiro was born in San Francisco to a rich Japanese family - his family was surprisingly liberal for their wealth, and hated corrupt Business practices. Unlike basically everyone else considered a Superhero/Villain, he has had relatively little trauma. He was a brilliant engineer and scientist. He, of course, being a young guy who knew basically nothing about the outside world, when he was 18 he got... a little too into politics, and found the world was even more f*cked up than he thought. Akihiro took on the role of a Vigilante/Terrorist and became infamous for killing those influential people he declared "corrupt" - in short, he is, depending on your views, batshit or the world's last, best hope

She's almost always dressed in her Villain outfit: A pale pink gothic lolita dress with a wide brimmed sun hat and a parasol, the very rare times she's forced to go civvie she prefer conservative dresses along with copious ammounts of make-up to hide her skin.
Assets: A razor-sharp sun hat (Think of Kung Lao's from MK)

Various kinds of small explosives, shaped like candies.

She also know German.
History: Jane lived with her aunt since her parents (a toy maker and an opera singer) died in a car accident. However her aunt was an instable person, being obsessed with victorian age dolls, and she often abused the little Jane.

She then had to move in an orphanage, were she was quickly out-casted for her silent and introverted attitude, and for such she was a frequent target of bullies and rumors.
Her only friend and protector was the orphanage director, a german former scientist, that saw a great potential in that little girl.
He was right, Jane was a natural in science, expecially in chemistry, had exceptional practical skills and was a quick learner for someone of her age.
Sadly her life took another bloody turn, when a couple of bullies made a prank on her by swapping a chemical during a chemistry experiment with the director.
The resulting explosion blew up half of the director's face and showered the poor little Jane in chemicals, bleaching her skin forever.
Her only friend died shortly after and she had to recover for a week, a period when she was completely silent and almost motionless, she was plotting her revenge.
After her recovery period noone heard of her again in the orphanage, but the same day she left, the corpses of two missing girls where found in the basement, they were brutally tortured and covered in corrosive chemicals.

Her mind snapped again when she heard the news that her love was going to marry her rival.
She left shortly after, leaving behind her the circus and the corpses of two young lovers, dead by poisoning and with an orrible grin on their faces.
She now plan to terrorize the city for her own twisted amusement, after all, all this gray and boring city need for a change is a "Smile".

http://www.last.fm/user/sgtpendulum Yo, check out what I'm listening, it'll be heat, brah :^)Interested, WIP
- Name: Jaime Altriss
- Alias: Doesn't usually use one, but his co-workers jokingly call him Baku sometimes.
- Hero/Villain: Hero, technically.
- Registered?: Works for the government.
- Sex: Male
- Age: 28
- Appearance: 5'7" and slim, but not skinny. He is of indeterminate race. His eyes are dark brown (though they glow purple when he uses his powers), and his hair is purple.. oddly. Whether this is dye or a byproduct of his powers, no one knows. It's usually tied in a ponytail, and when untied comes to the bottom of his neck. On his off days he wears simple clothing, usual just jeans and t-shirts. When he's on the job he wears a black suit made of a sdurable fabric and bulletproof vest.
- Assets:
- An average sized flat in which he lives. It's fairly tidy.
- A cane. It's just a regular cane, but hey, it looks nice. And it hurts if you hit someone with it.
- M&P Shield 9mm pistol.
- Power/abilities/skills:
- Hypnosis: Can make someone fall asleep by looking in their eyes for between 30 seconds. This usually works better on people with weak constitutions, larger or more strong willed people take longer. ((Edit made))
- Dream Eating: A form of mind reading, Jaime can dig in people's minds for information. This only works if the person is asleep and he has skin contact with them. This power has two major drawbacks: 1. when he uses it, it puts him to sleep as well, and 2. he can get lost. The mind is a weird place, and worst comes to worst he's trapped in someone else's- leaving his body virtually defenseless.
- Aim: Has decent aim. He's not a crack shot, but he can get the job done.
- Self Defense: He took some Government mandated self defense courses. He's only as strong as a normal human though.
- History:
- Jaime had a comparatively normal childhood, as an only child of two nonpowered parents. Aside from the fact that they didn't quite know how to deal with his powers when he was young. His school years weren't much different, though he did get marked as a troublemaker for using his abilities on people who bothered and/or made fun of him.
- After college he was scouted by the government for his powers. Though they weren't very good for front line combat, they were extremely useful in interrogation. So after a few years of training, he started his job. That was three years ago.

we will survive.@Gaunt: what is your idea? I might have something that fits.
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home. For a paroled villain, my idea is for a teenager whose powers (either telekinesis or some sort of ghost-dopelganger generation, I'm thinking) aren't fully under her control, who snapped after being bullied and held half her school hostage for a few days.
For a hero, I'm leaning towards an upstanding, Face of the Hero Association type of figure with speedster powers.
If you want, I can come up with a hero to pair with the villain — I'm thinking a big brother sort of guy.
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home.Daydre, increase that hypnosis time to, say, a minute and it's good.
On the other hand, dream eating does seem OP, the ability to dig around the brain without a concrete plan of how to do so or how the affected players can counteract it. I can see it being play out like Psychonauts but I can also imagine the players not wanting to deal with that headache of gming their own mindscape.
So, err, Daydre, either expand upon that power or come up with another one.

http://www.last.fm/user/sgtpendulum Yo, check out what I'm listening, it'll be heat, brah :^)@Gaunt: aright, I'll wait for your profile, then magic something up.
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home. Can I increase it to 30 seconds? A minute is a bit too long in a fight, and I'd prefer he not be completely useless if it comes to that. (Only slightly useless.)
Jaime has to know what he's looking for when doing this, otherwise he might get lost and never wake up again. Er.. Probably should've mentioned this but when he uses the ability he passes out until he leaves the other person's mind. Also, if/when Jaime uses it on another pc they could just say whether he found the info he needs or not. Unless they'd like to gm their character's mindscape. Would you like me to expand more, or is this good?
we will survive.- Name: Joanne “Jo” Masters
- Alias: Shade
- Hero/Villain: Villain
- Registered: Yes, on parole.
- Sex: Female
- Age: 17
- Appearance: Taller than average and wiry, lanky, with long curly orange hair, freckled fair skin and a narrow face. Blue eyes, wears glasses. She has a tendency to stand slightly hunched, to de-emphasise her height.
- Civilian clothes: Tends to prefer jeans and hoodies, usually in dull colours.
- Costume: A lightly armoured hooded white vest over a black tee shirt, combat pants and boots. Under her hood she wears a domino mask with inbuilt prescription lenses.
- Assets:
- Her personal effects – books, a smart phone and laptop, course texts.
- A Hero Association trust fund that can only be accessed for educational and career-building purposes.
- When she is working in the field, she’s armed with a taser and a police-style baton.
- Power/abilities/skills:
- Power: Ghost/dopelganger generation.
- Jo can generate “ghosts” – wispy-white figures resembling her own body, but with no discernible facial features. Despite appearances, these ghosts are tangible and must navigate their environment like any human. As a baseline, each ghost is only slightly stronger and more resilient than your average 17 year-old girl, and can’t range further than approximately 50 meters from her.
- The ghosts can carry out Jo’s mental commands, but without concentration on her part they revert to operating autonomously, carrying out “standing orders” or acting according to Jo’s subconsciousness. She receives sensory feedback from the ghosts – general “impressions” from autonomous ghosts, full sight and sound from ghosts she’s concentrating on.
- As Jo applies more energy to her power, the number of ghosts she can have active at once increases. They also become more solid in appearance, exhibit increased strength and speed and range, and display more aggressive and intelligent behaviour while acting autonomously. Jo has reported that it becomes more tiring to directly control the ghosts more powerful they become, but easier to just let them act on their own.
- Unfortunately, this power is not completely under Jo’s conscious control. Her ghosts become more powerful the more emotionally agitated she becomes. Her power also has a strong defensive reaction with a sensitive trigger, spawning ghosts to protect her without her conscious approval.
- At baseline, she generates one or two ghosts. After some experimentation she’s found a happy middle ground between power and control, where she generates four ghosts and cycles control between them. At full power (either through a conscious decision or emotional distress) she can generate ten to twelve ghosts, but at this level fine control is impossible and maintaining the apparitions is physically draining.
- Training: During her rehabilitation, she requested some basic training - self-defence martial arts, marksmanship and first aid.
- History:
- Jo led a relatively normal life up until her mid-teens, developing a love for reading and writing and a pronounced fandom for several Hero Association superheros. By the time she was 16, however, her life had started to unravel somewhat. Several relatives, including her older sister, were killed in a car accident early in the year, and a group of girls at her highschool began to escalate their previously low-key bullying campaign against her. Compounding this stress was the apparent “haunting” of her home by vague white phantom shapes that only she could see. Jo had always been highly independent, and refused to seek help or counselling.
- Things finally came to a head when her bullies struck during class one morning, and Jo snapped. The previously-invisible phantoms appeared in force around her and started to attack her tormentors. The shock and chaos that followed only made her more distraught, which only made the ghosts more numerous and aggressive. Within hours, the school had been evacuated, except for the classroom where Jo and her ghosts had subdued and restrained almost 18 students.
- After an almost 24-hour standoff, police negotiators and two Association heroes managed to talk her down enough to release her hostages, and she surrendered herself to the authorities. She spent the next year in an Association counselling facility, learning how to control her powers and completing her highschool education. She was recently deemed fit to be discharged, and was offered the choice to either serve time in juvenile detention or serve in the field under the eye of an Association hero. She chose the latter.

How's this? What do you think, Gaunt?
- Name: David Damiens.
- Alias: Dune.
- Hero/villain: Hero.
- Registered?: Works for the government.
- Sex: Male.
- Age: 22.
- Appearance: David is short and rather stocky. His skin is slightly tanned, and his face is pointed. He sports a messy goatee and short hair, both brown, though the goatee is considerably brighter.
- Civilian outfit: David prefers dun, practical clothes. He tends to wear cargo pants, hiking shoes and Polo shirts, with a shabby brown longcoat thrown over the lot when weather permits it.
- Costume: a brown monk's habit,
◊ complete with a hood. The lower part is slashed in order to provide greater mobility, but the slash is concealed.
- Assets:
- A small flat, containing various personal effects and too many books.
- An extensive collection of various sorts good tea.
- A Kawasaki Ninja for getting around.
- Powers/abilities/skills: David is silicakinetic — he can conjure, control and vanish sand.
- David has complete control over all sand in a hundred-metre radius. He can accelerate it to frightful speeds, form walls, cause sandstorms, and the like.
- David can conjure sand from another dimension, which he sometimes dreams of; it is a large, seemingly infinite desert, dotted with ruins of a long-lost civilisation.
- David can vanish sand to the same dimension.
- History: David was a normal guy with a fondness for tea and books; he got himself a degree in law, specialising in law of torts. In his free time, he also volunteered as a literature teacher. Things have changed three years ago, when he began to dream of a desert, full of ruins but devoid of life. One night's dream saw him enter a ruined castle and activate... something; he is not willing to say what. He discovered his powers over sand shortly afterwards, and signed up for the Heroes' Association shortly afterwards. Ever since, he's served as a superhero while continuing with his usual life.
- Misc: David is the field supervisor of Shade, and regards her as a little sister.
Questions; so it's in the future, but not in the very science-fiction way, but is genetic experimentation a thing? Something akin to Spiderman, or maybe The Thing would be a better example. Building on that idea, would a person who can't really feel pain but is like, as fragile as paper be a bit too much for the roleplay, or does it balance itself out?
And I'm guessing we can't take multiple characters?
@Daydre Hmmm, alright, 30 sounds good enough. As for the eating dreams part, just explain on how such process exactly goes, give an example how the victim could potentially counter it and what happens if plan A failed.
@Gaunt Accepted.
@Dessie D Accepted.
@Truth Yeah, genetic experiments can be a thing, just write up that profile and see if it's gucci to go, and yeah, multiple characters are allowed, just don't make them pair with each other, that'll be boring and little bit cheating.
@San Same thing with Truth, write that up.
Gonna write up an intro post soon-ish. It'll be up around, say, Tuesday, sounds good?
