Particuarly when those tropes are aimed at minority groups. I'm just going to be upfront that 'Scrappy' is disproportionaly thrown at women, poc, and gay characters a lot.
I mean, sometimes fairly, like if a series really fucks up on writing a trans character, but I've seen a lot of times where a character is just there because 'T He H DON'T EXPLAINZ TEH GAYZ! WHY DO GAYZ EXIST?! FFFFFFFFFFF-"
Not sourcing YMMV entries is probably this wiki's biggest problem. It is often impossible for the casual reader to distinguish between someone's personal opinion and one held by a large part of the fandom at first glance.
Optimism is a duty.I mean, even just 'citing' someone could result in the same problem. I'm sure I can find a Vocal Minority of people for nearly any YMMV trope out there and, just from those talking, you'd think its a bigger issue than it is.
Point being, even citing things doesn't validate the scale of the... mileage here. Raising that point also starts a conversation about 'legitimacy' and that also sounds like the start of an Edit War.
I finally decided to pick the game back up. And, since I have to pay for Online I guess, I've gone back to Single Player.
Any new updates to hunting? I have a long list of animals I need to hunt down and a lot of them are small and frustrating to try and get a perfect pelt from let alone get to spawn.
(Oops, Didn't realize I was the last poster. I'm sorry.)

I've noticed that about "scrappy" as well. Rather like "feisty."
Bumping because RDR 2 has been making news a bit lately. And not in a good way.
The December Patch (though the video uses the latest patch released this week) downgraded the graphics of the game. Image looks a lot more flat now. Mostly its in stuff like skin and shadows or so I've noticed. Shadow Maps of models look hit too.
The theory is that the graphics were downgraded (specifically Ambient Occlusion) were removed because Online stability would take a hit if they were working, but removing them from only Online would result in people noticing more that its only active in Single Player. So it was removed entirely.
And now because caught wise and are making noise. Personally I think that they should have been upfront and left it in Single Player. I'm sure, yeah, some people will be upset, but its also pretty understandable that you couldn't get Online to run perfect without some downgrades.
EDIT: Can't get the embed tool to work so here's the link.

Wait does the downgrade affect the single-player or just the multi-player mode?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Rolled a 1 on that reading comprehension

Its Single-player. They removed graphic features in Single Player which make the graphics look flatter and duller. The reason being either to make Online run smoother or to make PC look better by comparison. There are a lot of theories. Online seems the most likely since it came out around December.
Well Son of a Bitch!
I didn't mind multi-player before because I falt-out never bothered to play it but now its affecting the Goddamn single-player?!?!?!?!
That's going too fucking far!!!!!!!!!!!

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Well, that's new...
Optimism is a duty.I'm pretty sure its been done before to other games, just maybe not regularly. Nothing particuarly comes to mind though.
Would Keiran go under Unintentionally Sympathetic?
Why would he? The game doesn't give us any particular reason to dislike him. In fact, I felt pretty bad when they threatened to cut off his balls.
So maybe Irrational Hatred, then?
I think I noticed something. Apparently some people who have played RDR2 have discovered an experience of what it's like to live with tuberculosis or other cases of terminal respiratory disease.

BTW, I hate to double-post, but here's a video about the disease courtesy of The Game Theorists. WARNING: Spoilers in this video!
ugh game theory
Anyway, been doing a fresh playthrough (also considering renewing my XBL subscription for the online), and good lord is there a lot of content in this game that I missed, not due to negligence on my first run or anything, but just from how much shit there is in the world. I got two random encounters I've never seen before just last night!
I also finally figured out how to get the safe in the Saint Denis gunshop robbery. You have to "threaten" the gamblers rather than "question", since that makes their weakest link panic and spill the beans. With that and the bootlegging shopkeep in Valentine that I didn't know about, I think I've actually done all the backroom robberies now.
The video is less game theory its more on what tuberculosis is and does.
Good news (announced over a week ago): RDR2 is coming to PC on November 5!
Man, I suspect that an external storage unit will be a necessity. This game is huge.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects. Not to mention the graphics. I wonder what the specs will be like.
So is anyone still playing this? This thread has been pretty dead since June.
Optimism is a duty.I go back to it for nostalgia reasons. It's so pretty. It might very well be one of the most graphically beautiful games I've ever played. I dunno how they got it running on PS 4.
Also, Arthur Morgan and John Marston are both very attractive men
Seriously though, there isn't ANY texture pop. how the hell

I lurk the Edit Banned thread and the number 1 issue
actually is probably poor English
but a close runner up is people who edit YMMV entries. Just be aware that your opinion is not necessarily always correct, even if the person arguing with you is also not correct. Edit Warring in YMMV has brought down many many tropers.
