Very fun show so far. Series has done a solid job of giving good characterization to everybody (even object of affection Josh already has his own weird quirks) and while I prefer some songs to others (I'm So Good at Yoga and Sexy Getting Ready Song are already on the iPod), none of them feel obnoxious or self indulgent.
I was also quite grateful they zipped through the expected beats with Rachel's relationship with Greg (sort of friends, awkward dates) and now already have a fun dynamic with him calling her on her s*** while still attached to her in some odd way.

Tonight's episode was awesome. I especially loved "I'm in a Sexy French Depression," which needs to be on You Tube soon.
Rachel Bloom just won a Critic's Choice Award for Best Actress in a Comedy for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
Also according to her twitter, all 8 episodes will be available on CW.com on Monday (Before only the last 5 episodes were out there so you had to see the first three with less dubious means). Good to be ready for when Season 1 resumes next Monday.
This show is amazing, and anyone who enjoys comedy should seriously give it a try.

Taking a break from FE1, for the FE8 draft insteadFrom yesterday's episode, a wonderful ode to girl power:
And for anyone who hasn't seen it, you should all watch Rachel Bloom on Seth Meyers
just for the last bit about internet comments.

This episode was seriously hilarious and heartbreaking. The "Textmergency" song, the stinger, Paula and Scott's plotline, the police officer (played by the guy from Pictures of Your Dick
), even the fondue guy.
But honestly, this was the best song ever. Come on now, sing it with me.
Oh come on the embed isn't working again. Okay, here is the link.

People Magazine has the video of next week's JAP (Jewish American Princess) Rap Battle
and it is glorious.
Here is the explicit version of the "JAP Rap Battle":
And for the Goys out there, here are some explanations for the lyrics:
- "Shande" (or "shonda"/"shanda"), as Rebecca says, is Yiddish for "disgrace," "scandal," or "shame."
- "The Goys": non-Jews.
- "Jewish American Princess" is a real trope, as you can see here.
- "So sheket bevaka shut the fuck up!": Sheket bevakasha is Hebrew for "quiet please," so Rebecca is telling Audra to shut up in two languages at once.
- "Blowing frat guys with your A.E. Pi-Hole!": A. E. Pi stands for Alpha Epsilon Pi
, a Jewish fraternity.
- "Bathroom stall at the Matzo Ball": matzo ball isn't just a Jewish food, it's also a Jewish singles event
organized for Christmas Eve (because, you know, Jews at Christmas).
- "Golden's Bridge" and "North Castle" are both towns in Westchester, as is Scarsdale.
- "Then you're trippin' like Birthright.": Birthright Israel
(or just simply "Birthright") is a group that organizes heritage trips to Israel for Jews.
- "We were egged on like seder plates!": seder plates
are passed around during the Seder, the beginning of Passover.
- "you left New York for this fuckin' shtetl": A shtetl is a small village (usually back in Eastern Europe).
And boom, now you know how Jewish that song was.

Holy crap, you guys. I didn't know how they could possibly top the rap battle, but they did. They released a preview for the next episode and the song....well...I have three words:
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend got a season two!
I mean, like, every CW show was renewed, but I was worried there for a minute, but yaaaaay!
Does anyone want to help with the CXG recaps? I've included all the songs and I've started included all the tropes for the songs, but I have finished yet. Take a look as see if they can be improved.

So I finished watching four episodes of this new CW show and by god, it's amazing. It's a musical comedy drama that's also incredibly fucked up.
I mean, it stars Rachel Bloom as Rebecca Brunch, a lawyer in New York who is incredibly unhappy and suffers from anxiety and panic attacks. And she meets an old boyfriend from summer camp and decides to impulsively move to West Covina. Not to be near him, no way, just because she wanted a change (but she would totally go out with him if he asked). And she sings all about West Covina is a giant musical number
. It's awesome.
So far, I think my favorite songs have been Feeling Kinda Naughty
, which is a Katy Perry song if it was sung by Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs, and I Have Friends
, which is just so incredibly sad but in a chipper way.
Special mention must go to the Sexy Getting Ready Song
and it's reference to "ass-blood." How they got away with that on network television, I'll never know.
