I'm not sure I can think of anything that would work without having multiple frames and an explanation.
Check out my fanfiction! So basically for this we need a group shot from the source material, then we need roughly the same group shot in an adaptation with the New Character X added into it and then a third from the source material with that same New Character X added into it.
Well I got nothing, I had an idea for Mei Narusegawa in Love Hina or Chika in Hidamari Sketch but cant find crap. Mei's immigrant self is only really in the background of the manga ><.
Also would characters who first appeared in explicitly canon prequel and/or sequel works but in a different medium fit? If not then this page needs a repairshop. Reading it makes it seem like they do not fit but lots are on there.

I'm afraid it'll be too difficult, if not impossible, to do that. Also, it'll probably be a chore to find a perfect "cast sans X" to implement to a potential image. If you can find a good set with those requirements you stated, go right ahead.
For now, I'll go ahead and link what I got. All three involve either a Dolled-Up Installment, a spinoff/crossover, or alternate medium adaptation for the original appearance, since I feel it's better—and a lot less strenuous—than "entire cast sans X" "X in adaptation" "entire cast with X".
- Candidate 1: Shy Guy
◊ (from a game that ended up being marketed as a Mario title outside of Japan)
- Candidate 2: Dark Pit
◊ (originated as a palette swap)
- Candidate 3: Kirby's Water Copy ability
◊ (appeared in anime adaptation first, though this may be the weakest of the three)
Whoops. Should be better.

Bump. So is Canon Immigrant something that can be adequately shown in an image, or not?

(Annoyed grunt)My attempt at making the Shy Guy thing work.
The origin -> The immigration -> The integration.

This image does nothing to demonstrate this trope. The caption has to pretty much explain she's an example.
