"U-um..." Freddie wasn't sure what to say. An icy claw gripped his chest and his Aura visibly recoiled from Prospa as if he was being struck with every syllable. He sniffed, face flushing red, and held himself high as she left. Grimm he could handle; he'd gotten punted a hundred yards by an Ursa and gotten up just fine. Thing was, like so many other Huntsmen the lifestyle had left him almost defenseless against abuse from authority figures like her.

He sighed in relief when Fran tapped him, looking up at her. His Aura extended its arms and grabbed her bags. "Yeah, of—of course, ma'am. I feel the same. I'll get these to you room right away." Now with a new job to focus on that wasn't the crushing feeling of having just given Prospa shit she didn't deserve, Freddie turned and headed for Francesca's room, helped along with his body double.

Dust labs

Prospa had dropped his bags off at her designated room and had now arrived at the dust labs. The facility was very clean with several dozen tubes filled with different kinds of dust flowing through them, as well as a variety of work stations.

She nodded in approval. "Excellent facilities, nothing near the quality of the R&D department but it will be more than sufficient." She looked around for a technician. "Will someone please bring me an inventory listing?" She announced to the room at large.

Titanus

Max was in awe as he saw the entire facility rise into the air. (This... the aircraft I've seen have nothing on this. Never seen such a huge man-made object fly before...)

Inside Titanus

"Unit Beta... sweepers and clearers... sounds right for me. Attend meeting at the War Room at 1800 hours... got that. " Max very silently whispered to himself as he checked his scroll, observing the layout of the place.

(Dear gosh, there's so many people I don't even know here... Might as well try to make friends?)

And then he saw that there was a firing range. Whoa. He loved those, they were a way for him to show his skills...

Without further ado, Max got to Unit Beta's quarters, found his room, hastily placed his bag there, and set off to the firing range.

Dust Labs

There were about ten people in the labs, dressed in protective white uniforms. Some were typing away at computers, some were testing Dust samples.

One of them approached Prospa and removed his facemask.

He looked to be in his thirties, brown hair and a tanned skin tone. His eyes were purple.

"Captain, you may make use of any of our computers and workstations, as well as all our Dust. Please treat the labs as if it were your own."

His tone was polite, almost formal. And then he smiled wryly and looked at her like he was amused.

"Prospa Azulong. I've heard of you. My name is Frank Steiner, head of R and D at the SDC. A pleasure to meet you."

Firing Range

Aim. Shoot. Bullseye. Aim again. Shoot again. Bullseye again.

Now Mila was in her element, now Mila was relaxed. Just the feel of shooting again, on a military vessel, ready to go on a mission?

Yes, Mila was definitely used to this.

Mila supressed a grunt of irritation when she heard someone enter the range.

Oh well, as long as whoever it was didn't bother her.

She continued shooting.

Novus 8 - Titanus

Right before they left, Midori was quite ready to pitch a fit when it was assumed they would leave Jiro, her ATV. Only when they assured her that another airship would come pick up their personal vehicles, did the tall grasshopper Faunus assent to boarding the airship.

Her breath was stolen by the very size of the airborne fortress, her earlier ire forgotten. And once Subdivision Beta had bedded down, Midori set off, using her new Scroll to search for the training arena.

Titanus Dust Lab

Somewhere, off in her own corner of the dust lab, a oddly dressed young woman fiddled with a set of Dust-related equipment at a workstation. Though she often had to get an assistant to operate the fancy machines, she could at least use basic equipment to experiment with Dust mixtures.

"Double, double toil and trouble. Dust ignite, and room become rubble," the woman chanted. She peered over an open canister of Dust, casting an eerie blue glow over her face. "Yes, this batch should do nicely."

Araja didn't exactly understand OSHA-compliance, and thus to test her lab batches in a safe environment. She simply stuck her finger in the canister and absorbed a little before she activated it. With a loud bang, her workstation went up in a puff of smoke, and then she started falling. Up. She crashed into the ceiling backside first and sat up.

"Ouch," she said. She looked around, then up. Her workstation was on the ceiling now?? "Well, this is new."

She stood up and quickly noticed the new arrival. She waved.

"Hey down there! So you've come to my dust lab."

Titanus - Hallway

Francesca grabbed Freddie's shoulder before he left, pulling him back. "Hey kid, I noticed you seemed a bit hurt by Prospa. Don't let it get to you, she's just a cynical girl who thinks this is a waste of time. She'd rather be with her dust than people, and that's not just about you." She grinned at him. "If you need a shoulder to lean on, get one of your allies in Beta to chat with you. Or find me." She nodded before letting him be on his way.

Dust labs

Prospa nodded at the scientist. She also knew of Stiener as well as some rather unsavory rumors about him. Of course they had never been proven to be more than that, and I've been the target of a fair few myself. "Of course, Professor I've heard of you as well-"

And then a workstation was on the ceiling and someone was waving at her. "Pardon me, I believe I've just spotted someone I have a vested interest in talking to." She said before darting off to engage the other woman. Prospa stood before Araja and raised an eyebrow.

"I believe that it is standard procedure to test dust on a crash-test dummy even when one isn't in a flying fortress. Especially since you've apparently created a negatively-charged gravity dust variant."

Titanus Dust Lab

The gravity dust quickly wore off Araja, and she fell back down the right way, crashing into the floor in a unceremonious heap. She pulled herself up using her desk as a support.

"Right. I forgot. I'm not used to how it's supposed to be done," Araja said. "Now, if I can just fix that loud bang and the smoke..."

She picked her pointy hat off the floor, laughing awkwardly, and scratched the back of her neck.

"Yo," she said, with another friendly wave. "Welcome to the dust lab, where they let me do fun stuff so long as I don't blow everything up or disturb anyone."

She walked forward and stuck out her hand.

"I'm Araja. Do I do the shake hands thing, or—?"

Shootin' time

Max saw another person already at the firing range. And she was a pretty good shot too. (She's good.)

He probably didn't want to disturb her though. Mainly because Max wasn't the sort to mix around with others unless encouraged to.

He was mainly here to shoot stuff.

Without further ado, Max decided to see how well he'd fare with these guns. He placed Eagle Strike beside him, then picked up a gun from the firing range and started shooting the targets at his side. For the first round of targets, he'd be using his Semblance.

(Should be a breeze.)

Max's eyes glowed a few times, once per aim. He didn't want to expend too much Aura, only using it in bursts whenever he switched targets.

Mr. Rayfer was rather quick on the aim and trigger, and within seconds, all the targets he had aimed at had been hit right in the center of the target. It did tire him a bit though, from the use of Aura per aim.

(Next up, same thing, no Semblance. You can do it, Max.)

"Oh!"

Araja clicked the fingers on her ungloved right hand, producing a tiny flame and a few small electrical sparks. The flame quickly intensified into a shade of blue, and the sparks jumped between her thumb and forefinger. She held that for an awkward ten seconds, and then it fizzled out.

"There," Araja said, returning Prospa's smirk with a cordial smile of her own. "Now I can't explode, even if I wanted to."

Odin and Henry

"I give my word. We might hate each other, we might have tried to maim each other multiple times, but I have never broken my word."

The general nodded. "Well, that's settled, then."

Firing Range

Mila finished her shooting, letting her rifle rest against the stand.

The Sergeant opted to observe the room's other occupant, as she saw no reason not to. The place was public after all.

After only a few shots, Mila was frowning. As he continued, she was downright annoyed.

"You're doing it wrong." she snapped out loud without meaning to speak.

Mila cursed her big mouth, but there was no way to take what she said back.

Instead, she pushed on.

"Fidgety. You're too damn fidgety, like you're nervous. You need to be calm while shooting. Don't doubt that you'll hit. Make the bullet hit."

A sigh. "....Your Semblance, I can tell you're using it. You were glowing with Aura. I want to see you shoot without it."

Inside Titanus

Clinton couldn't help but marvel at the headquarters, listening to the General's short, informative breakdown.

Frontliners? Yep, definitely my type of place. Right up in their faces, nice and personal.

After the General had finished, Clinton made his way to the quarters he had been assigned to. He plopped down what few bags of clothes that he had brought with him and hastily unpacked. He left his single case of Dust for his weapons untouched.

Have to admit. Nice place they got here. If this is what all the Kingdoms can do together... Wow.

A short rearrangement of empty bags and clothes later, Clinton wandered aimlessly, pondering his options.

The Dust lab probably isn't my kind of place, but it'd be familiar at least. Though I think I'll just hit the Gym. Yeah, that's about right.

With that, he made his way to the Gym at jogging pace, just for a small warm up.

Firing Range

(How does she know about my... confidence?)

Max was taken aback when the lady called him out that he was doing it wrong. Not bad, she saw through.

To be fair, she was right. Mr. Rayfer had been using a training gun, not Eagle Strike. He was so used to the weight and shape of his own weapon that he was clearly fidgety and less confident with the firing range gun. Even with his own Semblance making him aim properly.

As Max turned around to face Mila, he brushed his hair and smiled as he tried to keep a calm demeanor.

(Oh gosh, this isn't what I expected)

"Good day to you, lady. I'll have to admit, I used my Semblance to aim this weapon earlier. Not used to holding it well for sure."

He paused a bit.

"I'll do my best to shoot those targets without my Semblance."

(Oh boy, firing this without my Semblance is going to be... tougher than firing Eagle Strike without it)

Max Rayfer got ready to fire. No Semblance use this time. That was a test run, and now's the real thing.

On the other side of the shooting range, someone else was nailing her shots perfectly.

Carnage went for the firing range the first moment she could. Some marksmanship training was essential. She felt she was getting a bit rusty.

This didn't seem to be the case as the pistol shots she fired made a perfect circle around the smallest ring before firing four more into the very center. The recoil on the pistol might as well have been non-existent and yet the bullets firmly etched themselves in a target dummy, indicating a solid caliber.

Dust Lab: Prospa, Araja

At that moment, Prospa's Scroll rang with a message. It seemed that the witch that she was talking to was assigned to her own Unit Gamma.

Well, then.

Gym: Clinton

The Gym was a large, oval room. Weights, threadmills and the like filled it, except for the space at the center.

At the center was an arena, sort of like a boxing ring with a holographic Aura Meter display.

And in the ring was a woman. Petite, elegant, graceful. Light blonde hair done in a practical bun., blue eyes.

She was dressed in running pants and a white tank top. She was barefoot as well. In her hand were twin swords, glinting silver.

She seemed to be practicing by herself.

Firing Range

Mila snorted, a disgusted frown appearing on her face. "Don't...don't call me "Lady". It doesn't suit me. It's either "Mila" or "Sergeant". Don't call me anything else. And get a move on already!"

The lioness noticed another person in the range and she sighed. Well, so much for alone time.

Still...the other woman was good. Flawless, even. Mila was impressed.

"Hey,soldier. Are you as good with the rifle as you are with the handguns?" she asked.

Private talk

"Aye" Responded Henry "I'll do what I can ta help your lads an' lasses out in the field. Goin' ta be a tad difficult workin' without me crew, but I think I can handle it."

"Just one more thing. I want ta keep me ship on your base at all times, I don't want ta stray too far from Johnny if I can't help it."

Firing range

Entering the range with Barrett slung across his back, Henry quietly made his way to a slightly more secluded are of the range, all while quietly singing a song to himself. "What d'we do with a drunken sailor..."

Popping a tripod down in front of him, Henry began setting Barrett up for firing.

"...early in the mornin'..."

With Barrett's tripod set up, the Pirate loaded the gun and placed a stack of replacement rounds beside him.

Ceasing his song, Henry chambered the first round into the barrel and lined up the sights with his one good eye. Henry wasn't aiming for anything in particular, he just wanted to fire his damn gun, but it wasn't a bad idea to keep up good form when firing. Once he had a general idea of where he was shooting, the Pirate simply began to send a number of rounds downrange, where they would promptly explode upon impact with the nearest hard surface.

Stopping to admire his handiwork, Henry whooped with delight before he finally noticed that he wasn't alone on the range.

"Hope I'm not distractin' you lot!"

"Yes, Sergeant. I apologize." Max tried to keep a lighthearted face, but deep down, he was apologizing profusely.

Max got himself ready after apologizing to Mila.

(Oh boy, she's not the sort who would be friendly with me. This time, no Semblance)

He breathed in a bit to calm himself, following the advice that Mila had told him. Granted, not to the full extent yet. Even without his Semblance, Max was a good shot- he had good eyesight, and during his time at Beacon, had trained himself at firing Eagle Strike without it, in the event he was low on Aura.

This, however, was a different gun. One that he wasn't used to, although he had a bit of "practice" with it earlier. Having got a feel of his weapon earlier, his aim would've been better than if he didn't use it earlier.

(I can do this.)

Max relaxed as he aimed at each target before firing, making sure that he could keep his confidence. His aim was still pretty good, managing to nail a good number of the targets in the center. The rest were slightly off, hitting within the target zone, but 1-2 centimetres from the center.

No sooner had he finished, Max heard a lot of loud noise coming from another area of the firing range. Whoa. After it ended, the one responsible asked him a question, to which Max responded "I'm fine, sir!"

Gym

Clinton looked around, silently taking in the Gym and it's facilities.

Yep, right choice. I think I'm gonna get real familiar with this place.

Noticing the woman training by herself, he made his way over to the arena.

"Well, I don't think I've seen you before. You also with the Guardians?"

He put on his most confident smile. It wouldn't hurt to get in the others' good books.
