Agreed. 1 is better art, but 5 shows the size better.
Yeah, I also prefer 5 for showing the size of the city.
FYI: The trope is not about miniaturized locations. Those literal illustrations may lead to confusion.

I'm glad you brought that up...that's one seriously misleading trope name. This may have just gotten a lot harder to picture.
And yet Kandor is listed as an example... (sigh)
Given the complexity of the trope, I think this is nearly impossible to picture—basically anything we could come up with would likely more properly illustrate Small, Secluded World. I'll go with BUPKIS for this one.

I think this trope needs a TRS thread to fix it so I will just go with BUPKIS for now.

Yes TRS real cities in a bottle is a serious thing, I can think of 3 works offhand, and this trope is so different from that and way underused.
