The idea is, if half a million gets collected for the Kickstarter, the movie will go into production.

I am thinking of donating at least 5 dollars, with maybe adding a few more if I could later.

Don Bluth lives! grin

Well, I mean, obviously he's still alive, but I mean he's making a comeback!

Dragon's Lair, eh? They better have that Eve scene or no money.

Huh. One of the backers is the voice of sasquatch in those "Messin' with Sasquatch" ads, and he offered his services.

If this goes back to Don's early career(When he made movies that weren't 'forced' to be like Disney) I'll be freaking happy.

[up] Yeah, some people on Doug Walker's Facebook were worried about it going that route.

Still, it's good to see Mr. Bluth is back.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?

Damn, I thought that movie came out a little later.

Even if it did, that's a long break. Hopefully this Dragon Lair movie won't be the only new thing we'll see from him.

[up][up] From the sequel, in a scene starring this lovely lady.

Edit: Come to think about it, is this too NSFW for this board? Because if so I'll take it off.

I was thinking that was what he was referring to.

Probably the only thing I can really remember from that second game. Or that I really even know about.

Today I learned there was a Dragon's Lair sequel. For some reason I thought there was just the first game and Space Ace.

Happy to hear about this kickstarter though. I hope it succeeds.

I don't think many people really know about Dragon's lair 2. I know I only found out about it from a review of the Wii port of the Dragon's lair games. I'm guessing it's not as well received as the original.

Bluth does like outrageous ladies. I think he was responsible for Mad Madame Mim in Sword and the Stone. Unfortunately, he's also fond of ridiculously cloying groups of kids (the rabbit kids in Robin Hood, for instance, most of the core cast in Land Before Time). Hopefully they'll be none of those here.

This one was first. I commented on the other one as soon as I saw it later on.

Dragon's Lair was a great game with cool graphics and music, but WAY too hard for me to play. And yes the princess was a terribly sexy stereotype, but then, the hero was a stereotype himself (a handsome if dumb hero). Nobody protests about THAT huh?

I don't see much potential for a movie (the cartoon based on the game was terrible) but who knows, it might be worth a chuckle.

[up]It was all down to pattern recognition. That's practically all the game was. Space Ace as well.

Yeah, the game was entirely about timing. You had to move the stick/press the buttons in exactly the right sequence, at exactly the right time, to get things to work. Unfortunately, on the arcade version I tried to play, this wasn't explained anywhere. I I kept getting frustrated cuz I was trying to play it like any other video game.

Bluth is an experienced director and an excellent storyteller. I'm pretty confident that he'd be able to come up with a decent story into which he can plug these characters.

Space Ace was better as a game, since it had voice acting (which in my opinion was good).

But Dragon's Lair would make a better movie.

Was Cliffhanger by Bluth, too? I remember it bearing a strong resemblance to Lupin III.
