Dustin from Ninja Storm. Any takers on that bet?
That was an extremely good series. A series I'm going to need time and space before I can rewatch due to how... Weighty it is, how dark and twisted it is. Daredevil was good but I can go back and see it again and again. Jessica Jones is superior, it's amazing. But I would not be able to sit myself through it often. At least not yet, anyway.
And man, the implications coming off of Kilgrave throughout are remarkable. If we had a more open group here, discussing his role as the representation of the western world's permeating underlying culture of accepting rich white male privilege would be amazing. He would be fascinating to analyze from the standpoint of our culture.
Anyway, this was a great show, with strong characterization pretty much everywhere you look. I want more shows to be as good in virtually every aspect as Jessica Jones is.
That theme song though... It's not bad, it's amazing. The problem is that it's two clearly excellent songs put together so neither song gets their proper place. The JJ theme needs to be split in half so both songs can have their full versions.

I thought that was going to be the Sequel Hook when we saw the Doctor and his men retrieve Nuke, but we didn't get that so who knows.

OTC would probably be a good place for such a discussion.
I've finally finished the series, it's dam good, heavy though.

Same here though I wouldn't say binge watch. I took a break for a while. I watched the first 8 episodes Friday and watched the final episodes on Saturday.
Okay I guess you can call it that. I watched episodes 1 through 6 with only minimal breaks had to take dogs outside or restroom breaks. Then I took about a 3 hour break and watched episode 7 and 8. Then I went to sleep and started watching almost immediately after I woke up and finished the final 5 episodes with only minimal breaks.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureI binge watched up the episode where Jessica was planning to get herself locked up but simply couldn't get though that episode, I kept trying to watch a bit more but I couldn't engage, finally I got back into watching today and finished it a few hours ago and came to post here.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranI think Kilgrave is much more than a symbol of rich white privilege.
He's a symbol of the worst in human nature; He's scary because he has the ability to not force us to cross our moral lines, but to make us want to cross those lines. It's not mind control that scary, it's possibility of wanting to the things he commands, the compulsion he triggers in those he manipulates. He can turn anyone into a monster.
He can be more than one, in fact I'm confident that he is, it just depends on our perspectives, what we learn and how we see the world.
I know I see the mind control as a way of demonstrating the privilege explicitly. In our western society it's not difficult for a straight white dude to go around the world and do whatever, say what they want, get what they want, less trouble and less pushback than if they were any other type of person. And of course because they live it, it's natural, it's how the world works, what are the rest of you complaining about?

Yeah. it's not like People Puppets where the victim is going "must.......resist!" the whole time. He does something to your very brain chemistry that makes you actually believe that nothing else matters but following the command he issued to you.
As reluctant as I am to concur with that, I'll admit it does kind of make sense when you adjust your perspective a little.
EDIT: Actually, there was an interesting article where, in one segment, they talked about clubs in South Korea explicitly hiring white individuals to dress nice and simply hang out in their clubs in order to attract more patrons, so yeah I can understand what you're getting at.

@Xbimpy, very much so, in fact I'm vaguely convinced it's part of her origin and she might help the Defenders. Like the Defenders version of War Machine. Not always there because life happens, but around to help.
@Nerv, I knew you would be reluctant based on your past reactions to the very possibility. In fact I somewhat expected you to be more hostile. I'm grateful that you've opened up to the possibility slightly.
@Galadriel, thank you, I try. I got a few more even, the show was crawling with implications like that', the victims side of things is just as interesting.
