Finally saw the episode.
Seeing Felix smiling and cheering with everyone else in the group Miraculers scene at the beginning was funny. Dude's totally defrosted.
Overall, this season has an interesting, and at this point clearly intentional running theme that Marinette's actions have a way of inadvertently harming the people around her. The end of this episode felt like a fuse they were waiting to blow up in a later episode.
I find the episode an example of Both Sides Have a Point. While yes it seems to be information Adrien should know, Marinette is honoring the wishes of a dying man. And this doesn't even include the behavior of the population should it get out. They basically were going to crucify Marinette over lies for posts, imagine how they'd treat Adrien over being a terrorist's son?
Considering the dying words of Gabriel are fundamentally making himself a posthumous Karma Houdini despite terrorizing Paris for over a year and more than once nearly causing the apocalypse, yeah he hasn't really earned any real right to have his dying wish respected
But the fallout of the truth once it inevitably becomes public will ruin Adrien beyond belief. Won't be surprised if he just snaps worse than anything we've seen before even in "Chat Blanc"
Prettiest Meta Knight Gijinka, nglIt's one of those questions. Is it really worth completely destabilizing a major pillar of the city (when there's already a new villain on the lookout for negativity) and several families (all of whom she's close to) just to spite a man who's already dead? And how much truth is too much? If she tells the truth, people will ask why which just leads down a massive rabbit hole that she wouldn't want to talk about even if she told the truth because it involves details about the Miraculous she probably doesn't want public. IE: "Ok WHY was Gabriel Agreste who was already a gazillionare with the perfect son a supervillain who threw everything away?" "Because he wanted to save his wife who used the Peacock Miraculous to potentially give birth to said perfect child. Also he fixed it and now it can be used consequence free." Great now every rich jerk with delusions of grandeur is gonna want the think to make a perfect child of their own which means Felix has to look over his shoulder for the rest of his life. Alternatively someone wants it to hold the lives of three of the richest kids in the world hostage.
I can see why she wouldn't want to go public with it. Some of that info cannot be shared. The only thing is maybe she could have told Adrien and the team but with the rule that it's a secret they all have to bear because secrets of the Miraculous cannot be public. And the fact that she's just kind of ignoring Tomoe even though she's an active threat still.
Can anyone recommend some good Chloe images for AlphaBitch.Western Animation?
You’re Gonna Carry That Weight. The problem is that there's so many people who already know the secret about Gabriel that it's unrealistic that one of them won't eventually blab it to Adrien. Like even ignoring Chrysalis you've got Tomoe who doesn't gaf about Adrien and would definitely be willing to use it as leverage if it benefit her goals, Felix whom realistically Marinette still shouldn't trust and Nathalie and Kagami whom even if Marinette trusts there's still a chance they could one day tell Adrien out of a guilty conscience. There's just too many people who already know for Marinette to be able to control the secret from ever getting out (especially cause she isn't even close to most of the people who know).
Count me among those that don't give a damn about Gabriel's final wish.
With that said I think how the info gets out matters the most, moreso for Adrian than the public. Honestly I had the same idea as Known Unknown and I do think any ill will towards Adrian can be diminished by properly explaining things since he's a victim in this as well. Honestly, Miraculous doesn't feel cynical enough for anyone to hold any real grudge against Adrian for Gabriel's actions.
No but like I said the problem is revealing the truth about Gabriel means revealing the Peacock Miraculous can create people and Adrien is one of them which definitely might affect how people treat him, especially since he's major celebrity. That's probably why Felix is on board with the secrecy since otherwise he'd have to be constantly ducking people who want to steal his Miraculous for their own ends.
As for Lila, even if she knows the truth she can't prove it (nothing Nathalie sent her is direct proof Gabriel was Monarch) so for the time being, even though she knows it would ruin Ladybug it would be her word against her's and the people wouldn't take Lila's.
Oh and btw in this episode they just said that Chloe replaced Adrien as the new teenage fashion icon and that was after she took over Paris through a coup and was exposed as a dictator working with a supervillain ... So who knows, maybe Adrien being a supervillain's son might actually boost his popularitaty as well, it seems like the Miraculous people are wired differently 🤷♂️.
I haven't watched the episode where Chloe tries to take control of Paris, but it is possible that people are more forgiving in a universe where anybody can randomly turn into a supervillain. Also, Audrey Bourgeois seems to have an even greater pull that Gabriel had (didn't she say she was the one who allowed him to rise to fame?), so maybe she pulled the necessary strings.
Whatever your favourite work is, there is a Vocal Minority that considers it the Worst. Whatever. Ever!.

I saw the opening scene of the episode and I think it's a flashback given Sabrina is in her original Ms. Hound costume.
