It'd work if Chloe was a more comical villain. Absurdity just follows after that. But she's not, her bullying and bitchiness is played seriously. So it makes no sense why everyone loses 30 IQ points anytime she's involved.

Yeah, the show couldn't seem to make up its mind on how serious we are to take Chloe as a villain/threat after the S3 finale.

The primary demographic wants heroes their age. Ergo, they want villains their age. In many shows like that, the big villain is an adult, but rivals that have personal beef with the hero are their age.

I mean I figure higher ups assume that,* but have kids actually said in direct words that they don't like characters older than them?

  • A lot of snafus in entertainment are cause execs like to believe a properties success can be boiled down to a simple factor.

Idk, but I don't recall cartoon with adult protagonist since Samurai Jack (insert like four-five asterisks to that statement).

Cartoons are way bigger on being relatable than they used to, that's probably part of the reason.

Most children's animation focuses on children

The main exceptions are adaptations of existing Superheroes or shows about anthropomorphic creatures like Spongebob, My Little Pony, and Regular Show.

I feel some of it is that in the old days, adults (Barring the criminal type) were heavily seen as infallible and wise. The shift to more kid centered stuff reflecting the opposite.

Just that you ask a kid if they want cartoons with a kid centric cast, sure they will say yes and that's not a bad thing.

But unless they were asked if they dislike adult leads/focus directly, the question previously phrased doesn't mean that the alternative would be unsuccessful. Especially as kids are known to try checking out movies for example not aimed at them even if said films center much heavier on an adult cast.

And I don't think we need to do away with kid centered stuff, just that it's waste to restrict animation to the same setting. Heck, I always figured that a good compromise is live action sitcoms with the relatable kids while cartoons will sometimes give us a break from a semblance of actual life.

I don't know though. I honestly think the idea of people not being able to relate to those older or young is really accurate. It's just a matter of not stereotyping any age group.

It didn't used to be, alot of cartoons in the 80s and 90s starred adults, as people kids could look up to and want to grow into. Somewhere the culture shifted, and now we have people griping about "adulting" and 23 year olds freaking out about how old and washed up they are. Not sure where exactly it happened.

Still feels more like a case by case thing. I don't know, it seems more often if not that it's a sentiment for those who let their setbacks keep them down (As well as the idea that we have to drop anything kiddie).

Younger heroes absolutely doesn't mean you have to have young villains anyway. Many stories, this show included, have done younger hero vs older villain fine; could even argue it appeals to kids a bit more since it's a sort of "outlet" for some rebellious feelings (not an argument I'm solidly set on, but one that's probably come up before somewhere).

But Lila and Chloe aren't "The Man". They're rivals. Adult villains might want revenge on kid heroes but overall it's much less personal.

Imagine Ben 10 but Vilgax is a kid and Kevin adult.

Does anyone think we will have a episode featuring Chloé reappearing, if only briefly? I think if we do, I bet she'll get akumatized again!

I mean, yeah. They bothered to make her a brand new character design for the new season. That'd be a lot of effort to just have her appear on a video screen for a few seconds.

She is only in London, not that far away.

She's not a regular part of their life anymore though and has been basically banished from the city. I don't think she'll average more then one or two episodes a season now. Then again Felix apparently still lives in London so maybe there will be more episodes set there.

I've seen people moved from shipping Luka with Zoe to shipping him with Sublime now ... Looks like the fandom is more obssessed with getting Luka a girlfriend than he himself is lol.

Do we know who gets akumatized into Revelator? It's interesting that it's not showing us their face, even after they become a villain. You'd think they wouldn't do that if it was a new character.

If it's not a completely new character, I'm guessing that creep from Daddycop. He seems to be the new Chloé, as "Lila" is now the new Hawk Moth.

It's Vincent Aza aka. Pixelator from Season 1. And if you don't remember him I don't blame you as I don't think he's appeared since.

Pixelator is like the most forgetable akumatized villain, I'm surprised they'd reuse him out of everyone else.

We got more Miraculous leaks, and this time, it's for Season 6, and that it's also legit as what the description for this video said. Let's just say we're in for a very wild and very emotional ride.

I've heard of that one but it contradicts itself a couple times. Don't think I buy it.
