Everyone so far looks good, though is there any information you guys want me to specifically address? Though regarding Janos, how long would you say they have existed? I'm trying to work out how Natalie, another more prototypical nanomech being made by Servant HUNTER, relates to Janos. If Janos is under two years then Natalie's design was probably referenced, making him a more powerful and refined version of the concept. Course, each of Servants' divisions are rather large, so individual projects could of been made without awareness of others.
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."It's JANOS all caps.
(I'm still working on the backronym)
And hmmmm, given the stolen research and tech part, I'm fine with JANOS being after Natalie. So yeah, under two years. Possibly just a half year to a year of actually being sapient.
Also, for those curious, John von Neumann's native Hungarian name is Neumann János Lajos. Hence, my naming a sentient mass of von Neumann machines JANOS.
Click Click Boom Boom- Name: Cynthia, (Either no or has forgotten their surname.)
- Race: Immortal human, "Memory vampire"(See bellow}
- Gender: Female
- Appearance: A woman of a thin and undefined build. Of average height, her quite faced rounded and seemingly innocent. Her skin smooth and fair in tone. A pair of envious jade green eyes to look about upon the mortals. Sometimes covered by her long black hair, running down her back smooth and despite being imprisoned very healthy and clean. Personally she dresses in darker tones of black and red. Currently her clothes consist of rather fine and expensive set of older style clothes. Finely laced tunic, though slightly revealing on the arms. A pair of full length black pants. The outfit overall is fine, practical and only slightly revealing. The choice to make it slightly revealing was actually on purpose to try and make it easier to steal memories from overly excited individuals. Though she has her pride and standards, so does limit it.
- Abilities & Skills:
- Memory kiss: Cynthia can transfer memories from a creature into herself by establishing a spiritual link with a kiss. Such a kiss allows her to store the view whichever memories are taken during the link. Unless the target is willing, the memories transferred are a scattered jumble of their recent thoughts and their strongest and most emotional memories. A willing target could decide to bring certain memories to the surface to be taken instead of it being random. Depending on the intensity of the link only small portions of the memory might be copied however as the intensity increases more memories may be taken but it can also begin to cause the target to gain short-term amnesia surrounding those topics or even permanent loss at the most intense forms of the spiritual links. As the transfer is a link at the spiritual level it require the other target to have a soul, or at least a sizable fragment of one. Though against those who are missing or have a damaged soul, the memories gained may be unclear or comprehensible. The transfer of memories is near instantaneous, even the most intense of transfers could only take about twenty to thirty seconds. As the connection is caused by a kiss it does require the creature to also have some equivalent of a face for this to work.
- Memory degradation and dependence: Cynthia's soul was damaged by intense magic long ago. Such damage has caused her mind to be unable to retain memories. It started slowly but overtime has become a leaking tap of knowledge, slowly lost. As a result she remembers remarkably little of her personal life and what she does remember she covenants and tries to protect through whatever means possible. This includes the growing compulsion to steal the memories of others to both rebuild some sense of identity, no matter how false but also to shield those few personal memories with these fresh ones. Without stealing the memories of others she slowly becomes more distant and far more reactionary due to being less able to apply context to situations and plan accordingly. As a result however memories stolen also shape her personality as they make up the majority of the context she has to work off. Even when she has a huge mental cache of memories stolen and experiences had, she often craves more. Knowing otherwise they will all begin to fade away day by day till she remembers nothing. A side effect of stealing and using the memories of others is she has developed a lot of unusual skills that her victims had learnt.
- By unusual skills it is mostly just miscellaneous things and her spellcasting. Examples might be that she knows how to play a certain song on the piano even though she has never tried before or can cook a certain dish well despite never trying before. For the most part it will just be small things.
- Magical Immortality: Strange magics weaved into Cynthia throughout time has made her almost completely immortal. She does not age and does not fall ill to disease. Though injuries, poisons, thirst and hunger can still weaken her however never kill her. She magically seems to regenerate any wounds and clear the majority of toxins from her body with only a few hours of sleep. Hunger and thirst can still lead her to being exceptionally weak, even if it cannot slay her. She can even regenerate limbs and organs, though such takes a couple of days instead of hours of rest. Since her immortality is magical someone with some equivalent of anti-magic could temporarily negate her regeneration.
- Innate magical understanding: Due to a combination of the memories and experiences stolen and the magic deeply weaved into her, Cynthia can and is very proficient in performing magic. Seemingly able to do so with just her force of will, though that is more an illusion when you consider the vast but forgotten experiences she has absorbed. Mistakes in spell casting are of course still possible, especially when she is unaware of some factor in the immediate area. Finally she is of course still limited as anyone else is by her limited pool of life energy or by lack of other sources.
- Inventory:
- Cognitive Stability Amulet: This small shield shaped magical amulet is attached by a small silver chain around Cynthia's neck. The amulet constantly stimulates her mind with random fragmented memories to act as a buffer to delay her 'mental bleed' and allow her to retain her current personality and memories. It was given to her when she was imprisoned to make it more humane. It has to be replaced regularly as the same fragmented memories become ineffective.
- Black pocket watch: This is seemingly a old ornate mechanical pocket watch. Its outer casing is a deep black with a unusual arcane designs drawn upon its front. If you listen close its ticks echo unusually. Though despite the strange designs and sounds it is seemingly mundane but highly treasured by Cythia.
- Backstory: While her exact age might be forgotten to all including herself, she is at least several hundred years old. Long ago she became the partner of a necromancer who thought he could make them both ageless and immortal. A dream Cynthia was okay with till it actually happened, her partner dying int he process and her memories leaking forever after. She doesn't fully remember her time with this figure, just her first moments as an immortal...
- Cynthia has certain memories she cherishes. She met a young mage, a necromancer who thought she could aid Cytnhias condition and the two became very close friends. After years of work she eventually failed, and in her final moments she asked that she takes her memories and forever keep them to remember her by. Since then Cynthia has tried deeply, to keep those memories alive by often spending time reliving them as she could. The pocket watch as a memento of hers and a key to trying to preserve those memories.
- Other than that throughout her long lifetime she has wondered to many places, often from mage to mage in search of permanent cure to her cognitive breakdown. Unfortunately on a number of occasions she may have taken the memories of a few individuals she should not have and learned some secrets that even with temporary memories, brought dangerous attention to her. Not only figures connected to the servants discover the distant trail of people she has erased the memories of. Cynthia in a desperate search of new memories may have over-drained a partner she met, whom was also a rather influential figure connected to the servants leaving them a reactionary husk. While she never meant to drain so may memories but she was desperate and this lead to her imprisonment.
This is the extension of the previous idea. Inform me what you think. There is always part of me that wonders if I went over the top. If I do, whelp I can make changes. I need to go back and fill out these last bits as well but first I need to prepare dinner.

"After time adrift among open stars, along tides of light and through shoals of dust, I will return to where I began."She looks good so far, though I'll need explanation on the skills she acquired and I would say the Mind bleeding balances out the magic proficiency. Regarding equipment, as incentive to stay imprisoned she could have something that stabilizes her Mind whilst in her cell. Thus, allowing a solid personality to work off with at the beginning but also allowing the Mind bleed to stay in effect.
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."This is pretty bad, and I doubt you will accept it, but worth a try.
Name: Khj'Il
Race: Cosmic Force
Appearance: A black, humanoid blob wearing a [[badasslongcoat blue longcoat]], black trousers, a black shirt, and buttoned boots. He has white strings resembling Anime Hair, and purple eyes. His hands are clawed. He has two dark purple spots, which light up to the same shade as his eyes when he is talking, on his face like a mouth
Abilities & Skills:
Intangibility: He is permanently intangible, and cannot fight for himself and thus has to use the more gullible prisoners Long-Ranged Telepathy
VERY weak Telekinesis: It is very weak, and can barely pick up anything heavier than a mobile phone or filled coca'cola can
Technopathy: He is very intelligent, his domain is in knowledge... seems pretty obvious he can use electronics
Inventory: Nothing
Backstory: He is a cosmic force - there are millions. His role is Void, with a "domain" of knowledge. Every cosmic force has a role, and a "domain" that compliments their role. The power of earth caused disruptions in the cosmos, so he wanted to destroy it. However, he took a liking to it, due to it being one of the few worlds sharing something the cosmic forces had (read: internet). He wanted to guide it through the darkness of the void that is everything - but he was captured by the Servants of Humanity when he tried to get them out his way
Now, it seems he has his opportunity to escape

He doesn't seem very Voidy, and Cosmic Entities are a little worrying. I suppose a good rule of thumb is the more potentially iffy a concept, the more the character should be detailed. I just don't want any weird stuff randomly getting pulled. Really, when some dude god mods its pretty disorienting for the Game Master (observation rather than personal personal experience).
Anywho, some additions made to the Signup and Discussion manuals. Not as much as I wanted because Tales Of Zestiria is awesome, though worth mentioning. I'll probably have more additions up by tomorrow, and when do you guys think I should start Nightmare Normalcy?
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Actually finished the main signup for Cynthia now Kkutwar. Sorry it took a bit, exams plus coursework all piled up suddenly. Anyway what do you think, any questions you want answered or changes you want made?
"After time adrift among open stars, along tides of light and through shoals of dust, I will return to where I began."A quick question to kkutwar, would it be reasonable for my char to know how to channel his magic to form runes made of light for Geometric Magic to buff his golems?

"One may feel fear in the face of danger so long as one banishes fear when danger actually arrives"Well you'll need sufficient skill at working magic and understanding of light, though it is possible. Course, you could use any other field as a medium if you're that skilled at magic working.
Regarding Voidy, it might be easier picking something on a lower scale than Cosmic. Plus, given how everything is worked out, he probably wouldn't be a true Cosmic Force anyways.
Finally memory vampire looks good, and try not to pull out too many skills without consulting me first.
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Hmmm, I don't have any actual plans focused on this, but would JANOS learning some magic through out the RP be alright? I mean they don't really need magic, even as 'nerfed' as they are they're kind of still pretty powerful. Albeit right at the start of when they get free they're going to be comparatively weak.
Click Click Boom BoomUnless JANOS is more Golem than pure scientific Robot (which are considered purely scientific Golems anyways), there's nothing stopping him from learning magic. Though other then learning how to focus magic, magic actually isn't hard to learn (mastering or even outputing practical spells is what is difficult however).
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Neat. JANOS shall learn to CAST FIST!
Hmmm... JANOS could totally eat a really buff dude and use that as their default male form for FIST casting.
FEAR THE NANITE SWARM! NOM NOM NOM NOM
Note to self: Make muscle wizard for next storyline.
Click Click Boom BoomWell that would be in the realm of possibility, granted they won't be earthshattering buffs and probably will require a lengthy cast but that's better than no buff at all. s
So I think he could be good enough in magic to draw a rune made of light into the air (if he isn't interrupted that is) and then use this as kind of a 'command' to his golems.
"One may feel fear in the face of danger so long as one banishes fear when danger actually arrives"Oh dear, I'm late! I'll just post this WIP for now.
Name: Leonard Pendragon
Race: Human
Age: 17
Appearance: Leonard normally looks like a normal teenage boy. He's a bit tall, at 6'1, and his skin is pretty fair. He has black hair that is perputually unkempt. He spends a lot of time working out, so he's in pretty dang good shape.
pic related
◊
Abilities & Skillz: Leonard is the recipient of a Gift. It lets him move his soul outside of his body, while still maintaining a link to it. While it's outside of his body, it takes the shape of a broadsword. A really big broadsword. It looks like he shouldn't be able to lift it, but when it's in his hands, it's weightless. This ain't just any broadsword, though! It's a magical sword. The exact properties are tied to his Heart. As he develops as a person, his sword gets new abilities. In theory, he could even develop new forms. For now, it has two main ones.
First off, his sword can counter some magical effects. The flat of the blade absorbs energy based attacks. Be it a dragon's breath, a storm elemental's lightning bolt, or a wizard's disintegration beam, the blade can block them. Meanwhile, the edge can cut through magical defenses very easily. This includes spells that increase the durability of magical objects, magical forcefields, stuff like that. It even weakens supernatural healing factors for a few minutes.
The second effect is passive, and is active even when he doesn't have the sword actively materialized. It essentially removes the limits placed on him by his human body, in addition to making his physical abilities grow faster than a normal human's. He still has to work to get stronger, but if he exercised enough, and used extreme enough methods, he could theoretically suplex a dragon. For now, he's just at the level of an extremely badass normal human.
The power is not without it's problems. First of all, the blade is Leon's soul. So while it is extremely durable, if it were damaged, it would be very bad for Leon. Second, the blade has some intelligence. Right now it's only as smart as perhaps a dog. This wouldn't be too worrying, except for the fact that when he got it, it was about insect level. Spikes in intelligence seem to occur when it gets new abilities. It hasn't rebelled yet, but it has shown some personality. Leon can feel it's emotions to some extent. So far, he knows that it doesn't like when he does bad things. It seems that this link goes both ways, as the sword has responded to Leon's thoughts too.
Iron Will: Just as much a personality trait as an ability. Leon is an incredibly determined person. He just doesn't give up, is all. While completely nonmagical in nature, this power does make him resistant to mind-affecting powers. He can shrug off lesser effects, and while stronger powers can bring him down, he can resist them for a while, and it doesn't take much to make him snap out of it. He can also ignore a lot of pain. And, of course, it means that he can work out for longer than most people would think possible.
Inventory: Inhibitor Shackles: Stops him from summoning his blade.
Backstory: Leon was born to a single mother. He didn't have much guidance as a kid. His Gift manifested when he was 14. He was found by a gang of delinquents who worked for Eldon. They were really nice to him, made him feel like he belonged, and got him to do all kinds of heinous acts. They pushed him too far one night, though. They asked him to compromise some morals he didn't want to compromise. He said no, and they beat the crap out of him and left him to be arrested by the Servants. He's been serving his sentence for about a year now.

You're really not late, and I've been consumed by video games & television lately anyways. Though since today is Halloween that makes today perfect to start up Nightmare Normalcy. Still, probably won't start the roleplay until its darker because of that as well.
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."More explanation on your backstory would be nice, such as how he learned his Gift (which is called Royal Heart because I've been Disgaea 5 and The Seven Deadly Sins recently, plus it reminded me of my Angel Eggs concept so...). However I have no actual complaints, though your backstory should probably include some properly heinous acts.
Regarding the starting, I wanted to detail the Manuals some more first (I've updated the Discussion fairly). Though this Mind of mine is burning, telling me to write it down with all my fury. So today for certain, though Aldnoah.Zero is pretty rad. Ultimately though it'll probably take an hour or two to write what I want.
In the meanwhile, giving me questions would greatly help me work out or consider ideas I hadn't beforehand. Some of my niftier ideas were provoked by pondering, and admittedly I've probably forgotten some things just because I hadn't thought about them (such as Liches and Dragons).
Oh, and I'm a little surprised there's no official Servants in all these applications.
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Yeah, I can understand keeping some nice reveals or simply showing a thing instead of describing. Still, I should have some idea of his actions messaged to me. As it stands, the only reason I see Servants has to holding him is to ascertain his Gift's morality and intentions (Royal Heart is one of the rare Gifts that actually grow).
By the way guys, I'll admit I didn't make this clear, but you have a fair deal of freedom with your posts. I established the Prisoners, Servants, and Eldon to each to be over a thousand miminal. However, I obviously do not have six thousand fleshed out characters, so you guys can do a lot without involving me. Sure I'll do events and stuff, but I want to see how well I can do more hands off Mastering.
Anywho, opinion on the first update guys? Feedback and questions help me become better, and I want to provide the best story I can.
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."
Ooh, I like that. I should tell you that it's not so much his Gift that grows, and more that his Heart grows, and his Gift reacts to it. Like...His heart is a prism and his gift is the sun. And depending on the properties of the lens, the light from the sun can take on different properties. Developing emotionally will cause the prism to develop more facets, and thus split the light into new colors.
And I like that reason for him being in the prison more than the one I had. I'll edit my history to reflect that.
Speaking of, the Soul actually does grow when you're younger until a 'stopping' point (more like the trigger for further growth is insane) different for everyone. Separate from that is how the soul 'refines' itself (basically how a person can be radically different at different points).
Though Servants wouldn't just keep him there for study. So can you send me that reason? Oh, and guys, if you need a general guideline for Prisoner/Servants/Eldon characters I can provide one.
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."

Okay, done. Might add a picture later.
we will survive.
