Buffet battle
The invisible foe's next move sure took Garrett by surprise: the madman had jumped off the roof and crashed to the ground, Ben pinned underneath. Now visible, the Predator reached with one arm to—
Garrett's hand flew to his arrow quiver instinctively. He's going to blind the boy!
There was a flash of red, and Ben transformed back into his normal form. At that point Garrett let loose a moss arrow, aiming at the Predator's face.
"Again with people suggesting the militia" the man muttered, thinking out loud and glancing away from Cole for a moment. "You've got some good points, kid, but I'm just not sure it's a good idea for a man like me to be asking a lawman for help" the man said to Cole, glancing back to the boy for a moment.
"... Still, thanks for the help. Keep your chin up, kid" the man added, and started to walk away. Unless Cole specifically kept his attention on the man constantly, he'd find it very difficult to keep track of the man as he was leaving.
"Alright, we'll be on our way" Wells responded to Makoto on the sea shell, then put it away. "Hard starboard! Set course for the buffet!" the lieutenant shouted authoritatively, which got repeated by a few militia members to make sure all heard clearly, especially below deck.
"Consider yourself on evaluation, Riley" Wells said towards Riley with a nod. "Someone get this young man a phaser" the lieutenant added, turning aside.
A bit later, the short, humanoid fox-like creature that was Fastanook the gremlin came from the lower deck, moving to Riley and handing him... A sling, loaded with a single stone that had some glowing runes on it. Fastanook then stared, his face scrunching in a somewhat incredulous expression, up at the lucario. "... Shouldn't you have pants on?" Fastanook asked, a bit hesitantly.
You are reading this.Riley and Lucario's argument was interrupted by the sudden declaration that they were headed to the buffet. While Riley assumed that meant things were going to get serious, Lucario bristled instantly at Wells' words.
"We need to be evaluated?" he harrumphed at Riley, "he will regret doubting us once we prove to be more capable than this entire militia."
"What is it they say about pride and falling?" Riley retorted. The two shared a look briefly before Riley had to look at the almost-Pokemon approaching with a weapon for him. It wasn't what he was expecting, but apparently that was due to the city being odd, so he simply stared in bewilderment for half a second before accepting it with a nod.
Lucario stared right back at Fastanook and blinked, as outwardly confused as Riley had ever seen him. He growled gently in response, expecting Fastanook to understand.

I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life.""I'm on the case, no need to panic" Rex said over the militia channel. Things were quite completely over control just yet, though. "But the dreads guy needs someone to teach him a lesson"
"Stay right there, I'll be back in a minute" he told the floran and drove off in the direction of the Predator, it was time for some action.
While it didn't look like it, Rex had paid attention to the briefing and knew a thing or two about the yautjas or whatever that guy's species was. His threats basically confirmed the info he had so Rex went right ahead with exploiting his knowledge.
"Give the guy some credit, becoming invisible is a really cheap move" he said, accelerating even more and charging with his bike against the Predator.

Cole watched the man go for a couple moments, before looking away to look around somewhat, and looking...vaguely put out that the man had already vanished from his sight. He stood where he was for a long moment, before just sighing softly, looking down, and just...starting to walk.
He didn't really have any plan in mind, or any idea where he was going, or even any reason to be going anywhere. He was just...
...he didn't know what he was doing.
A bit of wandering along, a bit of looking around, he found a place that didn't look all that familiar, but...it did smell familiar. That was the buffet. The place with all the food.
...he should probably eat something, shouldn't he. That was what the others would want.
Cole walked to the nearest entrance, wandering through, not really looking up or around for the time being.
The invisible enemy managed to get behind Stinkfly and Rean, tackling the former to the ground and knocking Rean out of Stinkfly’s grasp. Rean hit the ground a few yards away from Stinkfly, his armor taking the brunt of the impact.
"Ugh..." Rean muttered, lying on his back, stunned. In the distance, the enemy revealed itself, taunting Ben. It grabbed Stinkfly by the eyes and drew a blade. Rean swore, rolling onto his stomach. He needed to act, and fast.
Ben's transformation dropped and he turned back into a kid. Rean got to his feet, and quickly unsheathed his sword with a horizontal flourish. The action created a shockwave aimed straight for the Predator.
There was suddenly a green, transparent shield between Morty and the bound man. "You idiot! If you kill him, he'll just get away!" Silanea hissed at Morty, continuing her efforts to get the man tied up with rope. The man said nothing to Morty, but he was almost certainly finding it impossible to get a breath at the moment anyway.
The elvish woman did not have the skill to deal with Makoto's action in time, and her elvish body was light enough for Makoto to throw easily, slamming the woman down onto her back with a gasp of pain. She was stunned from the hit long enough for Makoto to be free to do what she wanted, at least for the moment.
Meanwhile outside, the predator lost his grip as Ben transformed, and got shifted to one side with his foot no longer pinning the boy-turned-alien under it. "Clever" the predator muttered simply, turning his attention towards the others in time to see Garrett loosing an arrow. With a quick motion, the predator simply dodged the arrow, letting it hit the ground far behind him harmlessly. Next came Rean's shock-wave attack, which hit the predator but didn't do much, as the alien simply braced and took the brunt of it. Following that was Hercules' charge, which the predator moved forward to meet, preparing his wrist blades for battle.
However, evidently he was not prepared for how strong Hercules turned out to be, as the opening punch sent the predator hurtling back several meters, skidding along the cobblestones and moss. Unfortunately this meant that Hercules was now the one in the path of Rex's charge.
The predator wasn't long to recover either, letting out a breath as he jumped up to his feet. "Now this is more like it, a challenge" the predator said, then roared out, "TIME TO STOP MESSING AROUND!"
There was a screech behind the group, where Ben was running towards, as the floran yanked away from the majority of the goo. As she got up, she swung the bellows around, pumping them and liberally sending fire all around herself, cackling madly as she did.
Back inside the buffet, one person who had been moving with the fleeing crowd threw off their shawl cloak, revealing the golem form of the robot hunter; though the glowing red eyes and the bow he was already getting ready were the only distinct hints that it was him.
The predator prepared himself, holding up both arms with wrist blades at the ready, taking a defensive posture for the moment. The floran however moved towards the group, still shooting fire ahead of herself to make any of them think twice about coming right at her. "That human in black iss mine!" the floran yelled madly.
The robot-turned-golem turned and fired its bow on Silanea; with her attention turned outside by the predator's yell, it went right into her back unimpeded. Silanea let out a pained yell and then fell forwards, barely stopping her face from hitting the floor with one arm.
"... Uh, what?" Fastanook muttered in response, now even more confused. "Do you not, talk?" the gremlin added, hesitant and almost concerned.
You are reading this.Ben's heart skipped a beat as he managed to roll out of the Predator's grip, and tried to stay away from the actual combat, grinning from ear to ear as his friends took turns to try and beat the Huntbug senseless.
However, he then saw the Floran escape from her entrapment and start spewing fire everywhere. They needed more help.
Ben backed away from the Predator and Floran, trying to get to a relatively safe place, before pulling his phone out of his bag. He turned to the City Knights channel.
"Eve! You on?!" Ben frantically said into the phone. "I found Huntbug and his psycho girlfriend! We need backup, get to the buffet as soon as you can, we're right outside! Hurry!"

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.Inside Universe Buffet- Combat Medic
There was a lot of activity going on outside, including what looked like flames, but Makoto was focused on making sure her attacker was disarmed. She stepped on the woman's wrist to loosen her grip, and then tried to kick the knife out of her hand. Makoto drew the miniature crossbow from her belt to point at her downed enemy.
"Stay there, or I'll pin you to the floor..." she said with a glare. She didn't want to kill anyone, but shooting through a limb was fine with her. That could be fixed. Keeping an eye on the elvish woman, she went back to Nails and pulled the knife out of him. Anat took the opportunity to cast Diarahan on him, closing his wounds. While she was doing that, a strange, unnatural creature with a bow appeared in the crowd and took a shot at Silanea, hitting its mark. And Cole just walked in from an entrance. This was a mess...
"Hey, over here!" she yelled over the noise, trying to distract the archer. It could shoot at her if it wanted to, and that'd be preferable.

Lucario was apparently getting nowhere with the not-Pokemon. While he usually didn't like to ask for help, he glanced up at Riley almost desperately. "This doesn't make sense to me," he practically whined.
Riley couldn't help but chuckle softly and shake his head. "He doesn't speak the same languages as us, no," he answered, "I can understand him with my aura, but unless you have the same powers, you won't be getting much in the way of conversation out of him."
I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life."Cole stopped in his tracks when even in his depressive, somewhat addled state, he couldn't help but be aware of the utter maelstrom of whatever this was he had wandered into. There was fire, there was screaming, there was fighting...
"What...?"
He abruptly stepped back slightly, as though to back out, looking back and forth, trying to sort out what to do, where to go, or in general just try to get a better idea of...anything.
"Oh. Right." Morty tried to keep his hands steady but the sudden and terrifying spasm of violence was already setting him on edge. He wheeled his crossbow around desperately, as though looking for someone to pincushion. "W-w-what do I do? I-I'm freakin' out here. W-what do I do?"
"Keep 'em *urp* off my back, Morty, th-that's why I gave you the crossbow!" shouted Rick as he hunched over something, smashing bits of wood together while mumbling something about the Pythagorean theorem. "Keep 'em off my back!"
"Hooooh.... whodoIshootwhodoIshootwhodoIshootwhodoI...." Morty cried, before his finger- almost of his own volition- twitched and fired off a single, razor-sharp arrow at the first moving target that presented itself to Morty's panicked vision: the golem.
The unpredictability of fighting with people that Rex didn't even know the abilities of was already biting him in the ass, since he almost ran over Hercules while trying to attack the Predator. He managed to slow himself down with his wings—with their turbines now looking like aerial screws because of the day condition. But that still didn't take care of the yautja who apparently enjoyed the challenge Hercules provided. Unfortunately Rex wasn't going to be able to join in since the floran was free again and enjoying burning everything around her.
"He's all yours buddy, I'll go take care of her" Rex said, before flying off in her direction.
"What did I just say? I was having a nice meal and you guys had to ruin it" as he said that, Rex's turbines turned on their axis and shot themselves at the sentient plant. "We were making progress"
"We're not speaking the same language either; hasn't stopped the city before" Fastanook pointed out to Riley. "I thought for sure he'd be like... Never mind" the gremlin said, scratching his head and turning to walk away, back towards the stairway below deck, muttering as he went, "still think he should put on some pants..."

Garrett cursed under his breath as he saw that the floran not only hadn't yet lost consciousness, but in fact had freed herself — and she was after him specifically.
He reached for a flash bomb and tossed it with all his strength towards the floran — then turned around and ran. He made sure to put on his climbing gloves as he did so.

"I think Poke-speak is a little different," Riley said with a shrug. It made perfect sense to him. Whatever the not-Pokemon thought, it was just an assumption, so it wasn't surprising that he was wrong.
"That thing wants to turn me human," Lucario complained, sounding offended at the mere suggestion of pants. Riley simply snorted as he moved to the side of the boat, scanning the city below with his aura out of curiosity.

Eve kept reading, glancing occasionally at the picture, before hearing the crackle of the radio, and Ben's voice. Getting up, she quickly ran out of the library launching into flight once she was outside of the roof. The Hunters were back, and Ben sounded panicked. "I'm coming," she said into the phone.

[TOP SECRET]Hercules had managed to send the Predator flying but now he was in the path of Rex’s speeding motorbike he then quickly dodged out the way to avoid getting run over himself. “Whoa careful there!” Hercules called back to Rex. Seeing the Predator getting back onto his feet Herc then leapt up in the air, landing a few yards away from the alien in question and slammed his fists into the ground so hard that it caused a shockwave nearby where the Predator was standing.
Hopefully causing some damage to it from the aftermath of the shockwave and maybe catching the Predator off guard.
Ben slipped out from under the Predator and fled, a huge grin on his face. Meanwhile, Herc punched the Predator, knocking him away a bit. He then punched the ground, creating a shockwave.
"Nice, Herc!" Rean said, running over to where Hercules was. Rex and Garrett had the now unstuck Floran handled, so Rean followed up Herc by taking out his ARCUS and casting a Fire Bolt spell.
The robot turned its attention towards Makoto, and drew its bow back, but held for a moment... Morty's arrow hit it in the shoulder, leaving a scratch but otherwise bouncing off; the robot didn't even turn to look, yet still it held for a moment longer.
There was a smash of hardened clay shattering as the elvish woman smacked Makoto in the back of the head with a plate, having used the attention on the robot as her chance to scramble to her feet. The plate was more improvised, since Makoto had kicked her knife away. Soon as the plate was smashed on Makoto's head, the robot let the arrow fly loose, aimed towards Makoto's chest.
At the very least, Nails was now in a stable condition, slowly shaking off the shock he was in.
Outside, the floran continued her advance until the flash bomb went off, making her flinch and growl in annoyance. She kept trying to shoot fire blindly, and was caught completely off guard by one of the turbines slamming into her and throwing her to the ground; the turbine itself kept going, bouncing down the street behind the other turbine, which had missed the floran. "Grrr, I wass having fun with hunting until in sstupid jail!" the floran complained, slowly getting up off the ground.
Meanwhile, the predator watched patiently at the ready as Hercules made his leap, already realizing that the Olympian was not going to land on the alien directly. As Hercules slammed the ground, the predator made a long leap forward, avoiding the intended shock wave and fireball, and also slamming his feet into Hercules, forcing Hercules back. "What makes you so much stronger than these other apes?" the predator asked, making a quick aside swing at Rean with the dual wrist blades.

Cole was slowly backing out now, and no one seemed to have noticed him either. Good.
"Get out of here while you can"- she yelled to him, before a plate was broken over her head. It wasn't enough to leave an injury, since her metal helmet absorbed most of the force, but the woman had momentarily stunned her with the sneak attack. There wasn't any time for her or her persona to react to the arrow, and it struck her in the chest-plate, pushing her back a few feet and almost knocking her down. It had enough power behind it to pierce a couple inches deep and leave a bruise, but the golem creature hadn't drawn blood. Makoto pulled the arrow out and dropped it, her head clearing again.
"Anat, get it!" she said. Anat patted Nails on the back and then shifted forms to charge at the robot as a motorcycle. Makoto turned back to the woman that was supposed to be on the ground. "Don't say I didn't give you a chance..." she continued, before getting into a more proper fighting stance. She lunged forward and swung a metal spike reinforced fist at the elven woman's head. It was kind of overkill, but there wasn't time to try and gently subdue everyone that attacked her.
Cole looked towards someone...Makoto?...when she yelled for him to get out of there, though even as she was saying that, someone else was attacking her, and she was fighting back against them. There was just...so much going on...
Get out? Okay, but...where to? What was this? Was the entire city going to be like this? Was it all fighting today? Cole froze, hands coming up in a somewhat defensive position, just staring at everything still.
"Hooh.... ohgodohgodohgod.... Morty backed away, frantically trying to reload the crossbow that he had no idea how to reload. "I think -I think it's jammed, Rick!" he howled.
Thunk. Something shiny - a large, sharp-ish knife hurtling at terminal velocity towards the clay robot's skull — whizzed past Morty's head before Morty was able to turn around and look at his grandfather.
"There's a *urp* thing you should know about your grandpa, Morty." Rick shoved another piece of cutlery into his creation, which resembled, at first glance, a very small ballista attached to a large drinking glass holding whatever he could find to be fired.
"Rick Sanchez don't eat jam."

Library-Anime binges, not even once
Well, that was definitely a thing Caboose had just watched. Ignoring the fact that it probably should have been impossible for him to have finished all of that in the amount of time he had been spending already (maybe he was watching at double speed?), that was definitely an experience. It had been pretty weird to watch, and at times he didn't quite get what was going on, but it felt sort of heartwarming?
The first sign that something was a bit odd was the way that all the heroes but Karin got some sort of thing they couldn't do anymore. The doctors called it exhaustion but Caboose didn't trust doctors. It was kind of sad, almost, because it reminded him of home. The friends all got along and fought but it wasn't so easy getting back into things afterwards.
And once things got really dark the only light in the tunnel was the brief moment of excitement at seeing himself in the show during the part where Yuna called her friends. Honestly, looking at it all fall apart confused the dimwitted soldier. How everyone found out there was something wrong with what they were fighting for and fighting each other and trying to destroy eachother... succeeding in destroying eachother, it was like a worse version of what Washington would sometimes say about what happened to Project Freelancer. Secrets and lies kept by the ones in charge, injured heroes going crazy, people who were very nice breaking... he didn't really like it.
And that ending! Just a twenty minute long shot of the fiery stuff that was behind that tree wall thing. That was weird. Even weirder was that Caboose actually understood what this meant. And he didn't like it. He set down the viewing tablet thingamajig next to him and kind of just stared in the general direction of Yuna as his brain began to really digest it all.
Why is a yam attacking me?

In a forest in the land of the rising sun
Ryu was fighting against the rogue ninja Yaiba for the possession of the mythical Tornado sword, their blades locked on each other and for a second they looked evenly matched.
"Nice gimp suit, Hayabusa. Where's your ball gag?!?" Those were the wrong choice of words as Ryu broke the stalemate, he then jumped into the air and brought his sword down on Yaiba. For a moment there was total silence before Yaiba's blade broke in half, his body doing the same soon after.
"Ha...HAHAHAHAHAHA HAYABUSA YOU BASTARD!" Yaiba screamed as the cold embrace of death overtook him.
Ryu stared as Yaiba died and started to walk away before his vision was overwhelmed by darkness.
In a strange land
"What..." Ryu stared at his new atire
, the lower half of his face was covered by a bronze mask with an evil grin. His weapons have also been changed, his sword now a gladius and his kusarigama and shurikens now respectively a sickle and knives.
could this be the work of a Fiend? Those questions will have to be answered later as Ryu started to follow the cobblestone path, his hand in the Dragon Sword handle in case of trouble.

There is a point where we needed to stop and we have clearly passed it...but let's keep going and see what happens
