Hollow Knight|| Library || What was that!?

The younger titan was clearly distressed - that much, the Hollow Knight knew. However, for a while she could not react simply due to the fact that Sakura's brisk, emotionally charged walk nearly threw her off her shoulder. Clinging for dear life, the Hollow Knight let out a small "mmmmmmmmm!" As it grasped onto Sakura's - or the girl that Sakura became- shoulder.

Finally maintaining a good footing, the Hollow Knight did as it usually did - listened. Listened to the young titan's words, startled. More ferocious than anything it had heard, more passionate than any of the people of Hollownest, the Hollow Knight stood, as it did, listening.

Then, finally as the rant began to dwindle from her and she fell into uncertainty, the Hollow Knight lifted a hand to her neck, her black vague tendril hand softly Sakura's own neck. What the Hollow Knight hoped to accomplish with this gesture, even she did not know. Did she want to share some modicum of comfort? Of strength? Did it want to reassure Sakura that she, at the very least, stood by her side even if no one else would think anything of her words? Perhaps a combination of all three?

It's gaze as empty as ever, the Hollow Knight continued it's gesture.

Everything was happening so fast for Herc to process as Miss Tairee then sent Ben hurtling onto the floor and then was imprisoned in some weird bubble like prison. “Ben!” Hercules cried as he then darted towards where Ben was and then placed a hand on the bubble and gave a worried look at Ben and still trying in vain to keep his friend under control. “Ben! Listen to me please! It’s over there’s no need to fight anymore!”

Just as he said this to Ben, Eve’s lookalike then was blurred out of the library by Miss Tairee who had now enough of her. While his hand was still placed on the bubble, Herc then let out a gasp as the girl disappeared from sight. Ben then started throwing a fit inside the bubble demanding to know where Eve was and all the while was lashing out at his prison with his newfound water powers and was just plain old angry with her.

“Ben listen to me, it may be possible that your friend might be somewhere else in the city, you’ve really got to calm yourself down your tearing yourself apart.” Herc said in a more calming tone and was just looking quite distressed and then he looked in Sakura’s direction as she then started ranting about the whole situation before her. Herc was definitely feeling sympathy for her plight, same thing for the other two people that were crying right now, in Sakura’s case she had only just arrived recently and was maybe feeling left out of the proceedings, Herc didn’t know what Ben’s deal was with Miss Tairee either and felt that he should comfort Sakura. He then cleared his throat and then addressed her: “Sakura? Do you need to go outside for a bit? Because we could go somewhere else if you want.”

Alisa!Rean ||Library|| Deja Vu 2: Electric Boogaloo

And then Ben got knocked into a bubble, and Eve got teleported Aidios knows where. Well, that was one way to end this. Ben started freaking out about the teleportation and began filling the bubble with water in an attempt to break it. "Calm down! You’re going to drown yourself!" Rean shouted, ineffectually pushing on the bubble. It then occurred to him that maybe this alien could breathe underwater. Can he even drown like this? Rean thought, slowing his attempts to break the bubble.

A small black haired girl with a bug on her shoulder showed up behind him, echoing Two’s cries that they all couldn’t get along. Rean nodded. "Yeah. We’re all in the same boat right now, so why are you all fighting one another?! What if you need to work together one of these days? You can’t do that if you can’t even stop fighting for a second."

As usual, he was lacking context on whatever happened, but the whole thing with Eve, Ben and Rex sort of reminded him of how Jusis and Machias were acting at the start of the school year. Machias had a strong dislike for nobles, and Jusis was a member of the highest ranking noble family aside from the imperial family themselves. While Machias effectively ‘started it,’ Jusis would often egg him on by pushing his buttons unnecessarily. This caused a lot of disruption in Class VII’s activities because the two would just not stop arguing. (The fact that this messed with the ARCUS’ combat link function didn’t help either.) They eventually accepted one another as rivals and learned to work together...But it took Rean getting hit trying to protect the two of them from a sneak attack while they were arguing, and Machias eavesdropping on Jusis’ backstory to get them to chill out for a bit.

Hopefully something like the former wouldn’t ever need to happen to get this trio to calm down. Though, maybe what just happened was enough.

The library — Long Post Incoming

Ben pounded on the inside of the bubble for a bit longer, before he saw Two-in-someone-else's-body start crying, begging for everyone to get along and asking why they couldn't. This, combined with someone else begging the same thing, made Ben slow down his attacks and stop, just glaring forward. He trembled for a bit.

"You want to know why we can't get along?" Ben asked, his voice quiet and almost monotone. "I'll tell you. I can't forgive her because she doesn't deserve to be forgiven. The Writer trapped us here, stole us away from our families and friends, and our worlds, and everything we ever cared about, all so he could write a stupid book and torment us and kill us over and over for his own amusement," he explained. "I am a hero, and heroes don't let anyone die or get hurt, not on their watch. They also stop people who do bad things, and the Writer has done some of the worst things I've ever seen." He cleared his throat, preparing himself mentally for what he was about to say.

"Every day the Writer makes the city different. A couple days in, he turned the city into this frozen snowy place. It started off nice, like it always does. To make you think that you're safe before he crushes you. Then it started to snow. Then it started to hail. Then it started to rain giant icicles that pierce into you and stab you dead," he continued, his voice starting to waver. "I protected as many people as I could, but I can't be everywhere. He knew that, that's why he did it. Hundreds, thousands of people, they weren't safe and they... d-d-d-died to the ice. And when you d-die, you appear back somewhere else. So... so p-people were dying... dying over, and over, and over, and over, until by the end of it all they were so broken, so beaten, that they were dead inside, totally messed up."

Ben started to shake, his voice wavered even more.

"All those people the next day, completely... completely dead inside, d-death would be better than... better than what they had. Trapped in their own heads. Totally b-b-braindead. In con... constant p-pain and suffering. And the Writer said he'd fix them. But only after we play his little game." He started shaking more, voice losing its waver and starting to gain rage.

"This... this monster.. not only did he break thousands of people and make them suffer, make 'em sit there in agony, but then he fixed them, in exchange for completing a challenge for him. He only cares about what would make a good story. Doesn't care about the people he has to torture to get there. Doesn't care about all the real people that he's destroying to make his stupid book real." His fists clenched and unclenched in the bubble.

"He spoils the worlds that he takes people from, abuses and maims those who didn't deserve anything. Didn't deserve that treatment from anyone, especially not an all-powerful dweeb like the Writer. So he tormented and killed so many people, and he's gonna keep tormenting and killing people until he lets us go. Or he might not, because who knows, going back on his word and keeping us here forever would make such a good story, wouldn't it?" he asked rhetorically, with the most venomous sarcasm he could muster.

"And the worst part? People think that this is okay. People are okay with him doing this. People worship him," he said, the rage building, his voice wavering again. "And then we get to Miss Tairee. She said that she was once human like us. She said that she wants to help us, to protect us. To protect kids most of all. Well, you know how many kids died and were put into braindead states in that little snowstorm, and kept dying throughout all 20 something days we've been here since?!" he asked, his tone armor piercing. "She was given her power by the Writer. She's the only one who comes even close to challenging him. But she won't fight him because the Writer can erase her with a thought. And I get that. But she said she can leave and stop working for him whenever she wants. And if this is so evil and heinous, then why does she keep working with him?!" he asked again, taking a deep breath.

"It's because deep down, she's okay with it. She's okay with all the murder, all the bloodshed. Taking a life is one of the worst things a person can do. And the Writer does it all the time!" he shouted. "Without regret! Miss Tairee tried to defend the Writer! Saying he's beyond morality, or we can't possibly hope to understand his motivations. Well I sure as heck don't understand his motivations, but what he's done, and what he's gonna keep do if we can't stop him, if we can't get out of here... it shows he's a psycho. A monstrous mass murderer, torturing people to make a book, keeping them in agony, harming innocent people by dropping monsters on their heads every day, just for the sake of making a challenge!" he yelled at the top of his lungs. He then stopped and took another deep breath, his voice becoming calmer again, though no less angry.

"And Miss Tairee is okay with that. She's involved in that. She's the Writer's puppet, nothing more, his favorite toy that he can play with when he's bored of playing with the rest of our lives! She's just as bad as he is, she just likes to pretend she's better. She likes to pretend she cares. That is why I can't get along with her. That is why she and the Writer need to go down. That is why I'm trying to fight her, and that is why I will keep fighting until the Writer is stopped! No one else is going to die on my watch! On the City Knights' watch! Or anyone else's watches!" He shook a bit more, going silent, but still glaring at Miss Tairee, a glare of near-hatred.

Cole looked around at all the food, not seeming particularly interested, really, but still leaving it for Arcade to decide what to do. He did look curiously at various things, until a strange noise caught his ears, and he looked over at the oddly grinning man nearby.

Sakura || Library || You Won, Now What?

Sakura was aghast at the alien man's account of things, hearing what had happened with the icicles. How he had recounted people dying over and over and over again, like it was some nightmare they couldn't wake up from, and that was their reality. He accused the Writer and the soldier/school teacher/Miss Tairee of all of it; the Writer for doing it, and Miss Tairee going along for it. It was wrong, it was horrible. That much she couldn't deny.

But this wasn't the first time Sakura had been pulled into someone's machinations on what amounted to their whim. Technically it wasn't even the second.

"...Back home, I was just a normal kid, with my brother and my father." she began, gently waving Herc off for a moment. "I didn't ask to become a Cardcaptor; Kero roped me into it! Not only that, but I was supposed to be the one because someone long ago just decided it! I didn't ask to nearly get drowned or fall off a cliff! I didn't ask for my entire class to almost be erased! All of these things I had to go through happened just because a sorcerer wanted to pass down what he had made to someone in the future, and me and almost everyone I know got tangled up in it!"

"I've never seen someone die, and I hope I don't have to." she continued, voice trembling. "But I've seen things that are pretty crazy too. If I sat there blaming everyone who was connected and wanting to fight them, a disaster would've definitely happened!"

She paused, an idea coming to mind. She didn't know how well it'd work, but if she couldn't appease the alien man to at least work together with Miss Tairee, then she might be able to do something else. This kind of thinking was up her alley; rarely did a Clow Card or one of Eriol's trials get solved with brute force.

"What would fighting her change?" Sakura asked. "Like you said, this is a place where people revive over and over again. Even if you went so far as to..." The very idea sickened her. "...kill her, she'd just come back like nothing happened. You'd do it again, and again, and she'd just come back again and again. All you'd be doing is using her as a giant punching bag, and that's if you beat her! There has to be a better way than this! All fighting her would do is waste time!"

Arcade was in uncomfortable agreement with Cole as he stared at the grinning man. Unsure of what to do, he cautiously called out, "uh... hello?"

Immediately, the man responded, "Arcade?"

"Yes, how do you...? Oh, please no..."

The man squeed again, louder this time and moved closer. "I knew it!" he yelled, "you and Lanius aren't my favorite ship, but this is still amazing! It's like my ship is being confirmed right now! Were you at the battle? Did you meet him? Did he talk to you? I know he doesn't in the game, but maybe he did in your universe."

The more he spoke, the more Arcade tried to subtly get between the redhead and Cole. His unnerved mutters of "please, stop," went unheard.

Garrett's eyes went wide moments before he was knocked out by the phaser shot.

...

Upon waking up, dismayed, he proceeded to reluctantly put on the clothes graciously left him by the guards.

At the same time, he looked with narrowed eyes at the opposite cell—the one in which he had seen movement a few minutes before... Was anything else going on there right now? Come to think of it, was there anyone inside that cell yesterday?

At the buffet

Cole raised an eyebrow at the intruder, but on seeing Arcade's discomfort, he didn't even hesitate, pulling away from the older man to move to the nearest table of silverware, picking up the nearest knife, butterknife though it was, and brandishing it as menacingly as possible.

"Back away from my father or I will gut you where you stand. He is telling you to stop."

The Library — "Twenty-twenty-twenty four hours to go, I wanna be sedated. Nothin' to do and no where to go-o-oh, I wanna be sedated"

While the cathartic effect of a good cry was undeniable, it was still hard for Rex to not think he was doing a very bad job and not appearing weak. Any future action where he tried to show off would have looming over him the threat of someone bringing up the fact he literally cried like a girl.

But (un)fortunately it seemed like barely anyone was interested in exploiting that. Just because he had decided to leave the conversation didn't mean it was over. Two was uncharacteristically angry. Other people were jumping in to try and make everyone see their point of view. Hell, even Caboose didn't sound like his usual chirpy self. But the most important—read: loud—of them all was Ben. And while Rex was paying very little attention to everything around him, he could get that he was angry with Tairee.

"Thanks" he whispered to Yuna and started walking to where the desk was all the while looking at Ben.

"Ben..." he said, voice quavering a little "She's doing what she can to protect us" He stopped to wipe his tears which was probably making him more stupid than he already felt. This had already started off on the right foot, for sure.

"Remember that giant ship from a couple of days ago? The one that almost blew up the city? You didn't take it down. Nothing in your watch is strong enough. None of the City Knights are strong enough. And me neither"

"But she is" he said, pointing at Tairee "The only thing I did was punch a hole through a small craft and Tairee took care of everything with a bunch of... I don't know, some kind of flying robots. The point is after saving the day, she told me to take the credit. I'm not sure why she did it. And part of me still thinks this is all a trap she prepared to catch us off guard and pretend she's on our side"

It was so easy to blame Tairee for everything. She sort of was an accomplice to all of this after all. She had shown her flaws time and time again, preferring certain kind of people and having very little patience for troublemakers. But she had never gone out of her way to harm anyone and she did try to reason when she could. Rex had certainly thought she was just a glorified pawn that believed itself better than everyone else. One that really wanted to screw him over. But then again dealing with the ship, helping Lewis, and a lot of various actions in the past had proved her to be reliable. She deserved that at least.

"But I'm starting to think she's telling the truth"

Arcade floundered slightly as Cole moved away. He wanted to chase after him before something happened, but he was worried showing weakness would just cause the fangirl to descend even worse.

For her part, the fangirl didn't even slow down as Cole left, continuing to grill Arcade for information about Lanius that he very emphatically didn't have. He was starting to worry the questions would turn salacious, until Cole returned and threatened her.

"Cole!" Arcade scolded, grabbing his shoulder, "you can't just threaten someone for being annoying!" Did he really think brandishing a knife was acceptable? Right, of course he did, he had probably used his before a lot of times.

Surprisingly, the fangirl didn't seem too bothered by the knife being thrust at her. She seemed startled, but soon turned her attention back to Arcade, who stared at her in bewilderment.

Before she could as more questions, he decided to cut her off. "Look, ah... I don't think you ever told me your name," he said.

"I am designated #356265926," she replied, "but you can call me Jenny."

"...you're a robot?" Arcade finally managed to ask.

"I moved her to one of the balconies" Miss Tairee said simply, and more or less ignored what everyone else was saying, just doing some typing on her computer to pass the time until Ben had started his rant. Before then however, there was a blur in the basket Miss Tairee had made for Hercules, as a walkie talkie appeared in it, along with an instruction booklet of how to use it. Miss Tairee looked over at Hercules and seemed to think for a moment, then with a little more typing the booklet blurred and changed again, to now have simple picture illustrations.

Then, Ben's rant started up. Both copies of Miss Tairee stared at him with a blank, unchanging expression as he went on and on. Only when it seemed like he was finished, did both calmly reach a single hand up to their head and pull down the advanced visor in front of their eyes. The standing copy started to step forward, but paused as both looked over towards Rex, the visor now blocking any expression besides the mouth, which was still neutral and blank.

It was another voice to speak before Miss Tairee. From one of the Church of Literacy members, who had been watching everything in fascination from their group off to one side of the lobby. The books they had gathered for reading were currently forgotten in favor of all this much more interesting drama going on, but now one of them could not help but pose a question. "Wait... So, the Writer's own prophet went against his machinations? Are you certain?" the Church of Literacy member asked out.

"... Flying robots, Rex? Does that really seem like my style?" Miss Tairee pointed out, her tone neutral. It would probably be a good time to mention now, that the tiny Terran base that had previously been between the central desks was not there. "Why would I do that, anyway?" she added questioningly.

"Oh, oh" the Abraham Lincoln impersonator muttered as he worked out what that could mean. "Just died? Sorry to hear. Good luck!" he called out to Eve as she left, then returned his attention to looking out for new arrivals.

"Oh, Lewis? Well, sorry I don't really have time to reminisce" Silanea said, then glanced at the two noblemen. "Them? Just some strangers who were willing to help us out. Valentina isn't really used to that body- well, I guess it's my body- and we needed a hand because of the uh, size... Of me" she explained, a bit awkwardly.

"Yes, they're quite large..." Valentina muttered, her eyes glancing down.

One of the two noblemen glanced at Valentina with lowered eyebrows. "The tail?" the nobleman noted in a somewhat judgemental, exasperated tone.

"Er, yes, it's quite large" Valentina corrected, with a slight blush.

"Anyway, it's good to see you, but we are quite busy" Silanea cut in.

Prison, Garrett's cell

Looking into the other cell now, nothing was happening, and it still appeared empty. Thinking back... Yes, there had definitely been someone in there earlier, and as for last night...

When they'd taken Garrett to the cell, it was... The floran woman. She'd been sitting on her cot, looking upset about something. Now, it seemed she was gone.

"You wanted them to stop and they didn't stop! You said stop and they didn't stop! They're threatening you!" For the first time, Jenny actually seemed to care about Cole's existence. She huffed in annoyance and looked down at him. "I'm not threatening him!" she argued, "I'm just trying to figure out who he's in love with! It's not my fault he's being stubborn!"

Arcade could tell that things were going to get worse before they got better. "Look, you're upsetting my son," he interjected, "could you please stop that?!" He was starting to wonder if he'd have to throw an arm around his waist just to keep Cole from doing anything drastic.

The fangirl's reaction was not what he was expecting. She blinked, and then stepped back as if slapped. "Son?!" she repeated, "you... but you can't... that doesn't make any sense!"

"Or maybe you don't know as much as you think you do," Arcade snapped. There was a quiet pause as the fangirl stared at him in disbelief. After a few moments, there was a soft hiss, and smoke started to pour out of her ears as her eyes lost focus.

He was crying? Ben's expression lightened a bit. Then he listened to what Rex had to say. He looked stern, but less upset than he did.

"I..." he could only say, looking back at the librarian, who had lowered her visor. "How? How could... anyone... work with the Writer? How? I don't... understand. I know there's good in her. But I just... don't understand why. Why, how could anyone help someone as... evil as the Writer?" Ben asked, sounding more like he was asking himself than he was accusing Miss Tairee. If Two was feeling dejected and angry at all the turmoil, Caboose was matching it equally with confusion at how anyone could really act so plain angry at nothing without it being all good natured. It just made no sense to the soldier. People could be so mean and angry... but he did understand sort of, didn't he?

"Everyone can get along, I think," he said innocently in that deep voice he had. "But I don't know if they want to. Feeling angry at each other and fighting over nothing important and being jerks is easier for people I think. That's how it worked back in Blood Gulch, anyways. Before red team and blue team became good friends that just also like to talk about how much we hate each other, we were fighting in Blood Gulch... over each other's flags. I didn't really get it, but Church said it was important. So we were just all alone in this box canyon... and then we were fighting. And we thought it was over a flag, which I guess was a reason, but it was all just because someone else wanted us to fight and just stuck us together and told us to. And it worked really well!"

And now to start bringing in the aspect of why people kept fighting. "Even after we found out it was for nothing... it still took a while for us to really trust each other, except me because everyone is my friend and I am theirs'. Because we all wanted to still keep fighting, not so deep down," Caboose said this kind of sadly, because really talking about the fact that there were flaws his friends had, but definitely none on Caboose, wasn't a happy thing. "Because who would want to say they were wrong? It just doesn't work like that. After trying to kill each other so much, it isn't easy to really stop being a pridey person and lose. So you fight once. And then you keep fighting. And then you keep fighting. It's kind of a funny joke, really."

"I hate that," Caboose continued to Two. "How everyone doesn't want to try to be friends and can act really nice one second and then start making fun of you because they want to make you hurt. It makes me want to get angry... because it is sad that they won't let you get along. And then the other people don't want to try. If you work hard enough then you can make things work, though. You are a really nice lady, Two, I'm sure that you can make things better. Even if no one else decides to be friends and help out, you still have me... and Yuna! We can just be a friend team! Anyone else who just wants to be nice, also!" Friend team sounded nice. Not all teams were that friendly with themselves.

Caboose had completely forgotten about what he was trying to say to Two somewhere down the line, but hopefully it might have done something for her. People had a way of finding meaning in the soldier's words. The girl who walked over to them said some things that made a lot of sense. You could tell it was important because she was saying a lot of words. "Are you normally a kid?" he asked suddenly cheerily. "Because you said things that sounded like they worked well. I am Caboose, and this is Two!" Mood whiplash, thy name is Caboose.

The soldier was vaguely listening to what was going on between the librarian and Rex. "Because you are a nice person who wants to help us and also help Rex?" he shot back as a suggested answer. He was being entirely genuine in his thoughts about this, she seemed like a really nice person in his cooked up mental caricature of her.

“The Writer did all this? Oh goodness me…” Hercules finally said as Ben explained at length his hatred for the Writer and Miss Tairee and when this revelation was told, a feeling of dread crept over Herc’s face about the lengths the Writer went just to get an interesting angle for his story and involved the deaths of many. Could there truly be someone far worse than Hades was? Hercules was unsure at this point whether to take all this onboard just yet.

Sakura then recounted the terrible events that had happened to her, Herc then nodded at her in agreement: “Exactly, I had to deal with being bullied in my world just because I had god-like strength and I even got name called at that. But did it stop me? No. Did I give up when I was fighting the Hydra when it was threatening all of Thebes as I knew it? No. Did I let my friend Meg’s soul be permanently stuck in the River Styx just because I was too late to save her from dying? No I didn’t!” Hercules said to Ben then looking like a big brother would to a sibling: “Fighting’s not gonna resolve anything as far as we are concerned.”

Rex seemed to have calmed down and was now trying to reason with Ben also, though the stuff about the alien spaceships was completely lost on Herc but one thing he certainly knew that he believed what Rex was saying about Miss Tairee.

“I guess one way of looking at it is that help comes in many forms even from those we least expect to.” Herc mused at that very thought while he didn’t know all the details on how Miss Tairee helped he was at least welling to give her a chance.

Sakura || Library || Annnnd breathe...

Well, that was something. Sakura had half expected things to turn even more sour than they already had, but as it turned out the situation began to calm down. She let out a deep sigh of relief, finally noticing the bug man's hand (tendril?) on her cheek, and returned the gesture in kind by stroking it with her finger. "Thanks." she whispered to it, happy to have its company.

Her reprieve was cut short by the man in black armor introducing himself and his friend to her. Caboose and a girl named Two. She... didn't LOOK like a girl. May- Oh, right. The bodyswap. Apparently it crossed genders too. She sent up a silent prayer she hadn't been changed into a boy, be it Syaoran, Yamazaki, Toya, her dad, or any other number of people.

"Normally a kid..." Sakura nodded. "Mmhmm, if you call someone entering middle school a kid still. My name's Sakura, and this is my friend... though I don't know if it talks much." she said, gesturing to the bug man on her shoulder. "You two feeling better? Is it always like this, or was today just a bad day?"

A bad day, and she hadn't even been up an hour. She had a feeling today - and every day after that, for the next week or so, good or bad - were going to be long days indeed.

Library- Things Are Not Adding Up Here

Back over at the desk, things were escalating again somehow. Eve blew off Two's attempts to get things settled. Ben was stuck in one of those protective bubbles for his attempt to fight in the library, and after Eve attempted to apologize for her behavior, Miss Tairee told her not to come back until she'd actually thought about her words and actions, and then caused her to disappear. Predictably this did not help Ben's mood and he started having a tantrum in his bubble. Another girl made an attempt to get people to see that there was no point in fighting each other while we were here, but Makoto wasn't really sure it was going to sink it at this particular moment.

Ben went on a rant about how many awful things the Writer did and got away with over the last few weeks, and while he was right about how it was unacceptable, expecting Miss Tairee to step in and pointlessly try and stand up to someone that could just erase her didn't make sense either. Whether she worked here or not didn't matter. The Writer would continue to mess with them all the same. Calling her his toy just because she wasn't actively working against her boss was too simplistic of a viewpoint. Makoto know what it felt like to be in a position of "power" but ultimately not having much of a choice when it came to the big issues. At least as Student Council President she could try and help as much as she could within reason. If she had quit just because she didn't like the way things were run, things would be just as bad at school, or even worse. For all they knew, working at the Library was the only way Miss Tairee could get in a position to help the people trapped here, or at least make this prison as comfortable as possible. All Ben was doing was snapping at a worker when he was really angry at her boss. This was just wasting people's time and risking making things worse for everyone.

To her surprise, Rex broke away from Yuna and went back over to the desk. was he really about to go in there again? But he didn't seem angry anymore...

"Rex...?" Makoto stood up again. The brace was secure and her leg was heavier and kind of stiff now, but it felt more supported. She trailed after him and listened as he actually went out of his way to defend Miss Tairee from Ben's accusations. She didn't think he'd admit that he wasn't the one who took the giant ship's weapon down. Yet Miss Tairee was now... denying that she had anything to do with it. This wasn't making sense. Why was she refusing evidence that would make her look good? Unless...

She told Rex to lie and say he did it so no one suspected her interference in the challenge. She was playing dumb because she wasn't supposed to help like that. Makoto had thought about that theory before, but now it seemed closer to the truth. And who knew what the Writer might do if he became aware that Miss Tairee was going against an order of his?

"Wait, hold on..." she said to Rex, catching up to him. Now that she was a few inches taller, it wasn't hard for her to grab his shoulder and lean down slightly to whisper in his ear.

"I think that "help" you got wasn't supposed to happen. Maybe you shouldn't tell everyone about it. She might get in trouble..." she explained, before standing up straight (or as straight as Ryuji could stand) and looking away. "Those... those robots that helped you could've come from anywhere, right? There's a lot of people in this City."

Cole kept his gaze locked on the stranger, still not letting go of his knife, before turning away, trying to pull Arcade towards the door. "I was wrong, this place is no better. We need to find somewhere else to go. Anywhere else to go. Somewhere without all these people who are going to keep trying to hurt us. There has been enough of that."

The standing copy of Miss Tairee turned her head only a little bit towards Ben's bubble. "You don't know everything about the Writer, Ben. You won't get to know until he allows it" Miss Tairee said neutrally to Ben. She didn't respond to what the others were saying yet, mainly waiting to hear what Rex would say next.

"No really, I'm fine, but thank you" Silanea said, shaking her (or rather, Tristen's) head, trying to be polite.

"Uh, Cole," Arcade said, hesitantly, "I think... I think I might have broken her..." It was a good guess, since the fangirl hadn't moved an inch once the smoke started pouring out of her ears.

Before he could say another word, the fangirl shivered and then fell to the ground, still smoking. Gently, Arcade placed a hand on Cole's head in the hopes of stopping the toddler, then moved over to the fangirl and poked her with his boot.

I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life."

"Sounds like a kid to me," Caboose said cheerily. "Being a kid doesn't stop anyone from being super neat here, though. I wish I could have had an alien watch or be full of tiny machines and stuff when I was younger. "That would have been so cool, I'm sure Church would spend more time with me if I could do neat things like that."

When the cute thing he was staring at earlier was mentioned, the soldier had to gush over it. "So cute!" he said with excitement. It looked so tiny but also fierce... sort of like a bug... and it had a needle too... he was getting an idea. "Is it like a tiny person wasp? Like a yellowjacket... no wait, I got it! I'm calling you redjacket." Yeah, he was so close to landing on the word hornet, but he just missed it. Caboose moved a finger out towards the figure on Sakura's shoulder and attempt to gently poke it. "Boop," he'd say, if it connected.

"Oh yeah, I'm alright." he said in his super deep voice. "I cannot even remember what was making me feel sad!" Not a lie. "Also, I think I'm figuring out something neat I can do with Texas' stuff now that I am them, so that's nice." He was almost positive he figured out how to work the voice filter. Just needed to actually test it out.

Was everyday like this? It was hard to say. "Maybe," he said noncommittally. "Well, we aren't always someone else. My first day here everything was candy! And then there was some stuff where I was a tiny person. It was just really weird... or were you talking about that whole conversation thing? Yeah, we talk a lot and it sometimes gets a tiny bit heated. I think fighting is just a normal part of friendship, though! But... they have been doing the fighting part for a while. I hope they start the part where they become friends soon."

Cole paused, staring at the person on the ground, fidgeting and looking as though all he wanted to do was run for it. He looked between it and Arcade a moment, before pulling at his arm again.

"Can we at least go away from them in here, please...I do not like them I do not want to be near them..."
