"Aw," I said, mildly disappointed.
One misplaced ladybug leg turned out to be the trick to waking the alpaca up with a yelp, and it scrambled off the couch it'd curled up on, sending the giant ladybug flying out the door.
The alpaca looked at this with seeming confusion for a bit, then started roaming around, examining things, at one point nudging a certain sad toddler.
i guess you can watch me shitpost i guess"DO I?! THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE SO FAR!" If the earlier excitement had caused the woman to bubble up and all but seethe with energy, then the appearance of the majestic hippogriff was what broke the straw on the camel's back and made it all explode out with th power of a giant volcano.
"I'm coming up!" Fumbling around skittishly in her Bag of Holding, Vambre took out a conical red and white item. ROCKET MAGISWORD!" Blasting off while holding onto the thing, the adventuress loop de looped around in the air half uncontrollably before she deactivated in the general area that was above the flying mount to try to land upon its back. Results may vary.
Cole's face didn't really change at Arcade's reassurance, and he just looked around again, as though trying to plot out a more proper escape. "It's...fine. I...I know I can be...scary. Or I could, I...was? ...it's fine...I'll just...you should get back to your work...I...I can't d-do anything to help anyway..."
He looked rather startled at the sudden appearance of a...large, fluffy...thing? He stared up at the strange alpaca for a moment, eyes wide. "...what...are you?"

It felt good to finally land a hit, and a pretty big one at that, but they weren't done yet. Resentment's taunting gave Curly the start of an idea, but for now while Distrust was busy shouting at Silanea and manipulating the Guilts into following orders Curly mentally skimmed her character sheet for options and whispered Tester, Melee Blade: Charge, to Distrust

Library — Underneath the Bookshelf Place Where The Riddler Took Him, Whereever That Was
The Riddler inquired as to where was the tallest point in the city, presuming they'd have an advantage right off the bat if they started building there. However, Makoto explained that both the building materials and the construction site will be likely provided to the participants by the Boss. The Riddler then got spooked by the militia and left, but not before instructing Garrett and the Queen to split up and find Rex... and break out the Riddler if he ended up arrested. The thief couldn't say he liked the prospect of that very much, but then again, at least it'd give him something to do.
Garrett headed out in a direction away from the other two. However, soon afterwards he turned around and quietly went after Makoto, making sure to stay hidden. The Riddler may have been quite crazy, but Garrett had to admit, the girl didn't strike him as the sort who would honestly join a criminal organization... maybe there was something to the Riddler's suspicions. Where was she going?

"Son of a bitch," grumbled Rick as he unconsciously felt the wound on his side and winced at the sensation. "You know, talking a big game about rolling a dice successfully with a massive handicap in your favour puts you in the same category as douchebags who never shut up about that one time they guessed the right blackjack number and coasted on it ever since, or a kid who stacks the candyland deck in his favour." Rick shrugged. "But I mean, you're not going to absorb that information, because you're a one-dimensional caricaturized roadblock derived from an already one-dimensional character with no concrete, realistic motivations or redeeming features with no purpose other than to slow us down so let's just get this over with before you come up with some more witty repartee designed to make me feel bad about losing at a game of chance."
"I portal, uh... over there." Rick pointed over to a remote region of the battle.
"Uh... I guess?" Morty shrugged. "I wasn't really thinking about it, but-" More sensations flooded back into Morty's body as his consciousness got back to grips with the sensation of inhabiting a corporeal body in the physical realm. Various ganglia kicked back to life, hormones started squirting around the body again; and... oh. Well, that was something he had mercifully forgotten over the past few hours.
"Do - do you know where, uh, where the bathroom is?" asked Morty, unconsciously shifting his weight from one foot to the next.

Astolfo I City Corner I Got it!
"Worry not! I'm coming down to get you an- Woah there!" The young paladin yelped, adjusting his mount's position via looping above Vambre at just the precise moment so that the warrior wouldn't land headfirst into him with her accidental acrobatic display in the air. It was a bumpy landing, to be sure, and for a moment, it seemed that they were about to fall off. Luckily, Astolfo doesn't seem perturbed by it at all and, with a few more skillful maneuver with the Hippogriff, both warriors remain perfectly stable on the air.
"There we go!" Satisfied, Astolfo now awaits for both the fairy and wombat to lead the way(or until he feels like he should have them make up already, whichever comes first).

So throwing that copy of him made the Guilt go rogue huh? That ended up being rather convenient, so they had little control over what they did, even if Distrust was trying to keep the one that rebelled in check. That Rick guy made his way out of the chaos, meaning that now Sans would be a prime target for the guilts surrounding him. He could try his luck and see if he can dodge their attack while making sure that Distrust went down or he could try taking the one that would move after him out first. Or even just try to hope Curly could finish him off on her own while he moved himself out of the way with a teleport. At the same time, those thing's actions were randomized and they lower chances of hitting him than Distrust would have if he lived and tried to go after him.
"gaster blaster!" said Sans, pointing at Distrust.
It would be bad to go out after all that speech he gave earlier, but that's what happens when you have to rely on luck to get things done. All he could do now was hope things worked out or that maybe that those two guilts would waste their turn.
Ben grinned at Simon and Kamina, who accepted his offer to join the City Knights. He grabbed the tiny walkie talkies and handed them to the brothers.
"Awesome! We're on Channel 10, press the button when you wanna talk!" Ben explained. His brow furrowed slightly when Kamina explained what had happened with Despair.
"That wasn't Cole, that was Despair," Ben pointed out. "Cole's not like that. He's a good guy. I trust him!" Cole seemed absolutely crestfallen, though. Ben's expression lightened up and he walked over to Cole, wrapping his arms around the boy in a gentle hug.
"Cole, don't worry about it. Everything's taken care of now," he said to the spirit-turned-toddler. "And I don't hold anything against you about it." When Wells spoke up, Ben glared at him. He looked rather indignant at Wells for his comment about soldiers in war, as well as his comments about not applying morality to him.
"Don't talk to me about not applying my morality!" Ben snapped back. "The Riddler is evil! He kidnaps people, robs banks, that sorta thing! I don't know what kind of reality he could possibly exist in where that stuff is on the up and up! The circumstances are that he's a grade-A nutcase! I read the comics he's from!" He huffed a bit before looking back at Cole.
"Anything you wanna do, Cole? Once that arcade comes up, I can show you video games, they're really awesome. I know a couple of games that are a blast to play," Ben offered. "We could also get ice cream or something later. Like I was talking about, remember?"
I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.Figures Distrust would dodge both Rex's and Rick's attack. At least Curly had hurt him and he was bound to get hit again sooner or later.
"You'll run out of luck eventually"
To top it all Eve's attack was ineffective against Resentment but more worrying than that was her undermining the team's efforts to weaken Silanea's negative feelings.
"You know, for a supposed genius you really need to learn a thing or two about comforting people"
Rex picked the conversation where Eve had left off, trying to stop Resentment from turning things around. Not only because it would weaken him and his buddy but also because he had forgotten to choose his attack with all these chatter.
"There are a lot of jerks in the world, probably in every world. And they come in all shapes and sizes. But that doesn't mean you have to stop trusting people. Most of them are decent and even the ones that don't look like much can end up surprising you"
Having said that, Rex once again checked his sheet. It seems he had overlooked a certain bonus that each form had to actually connecting a hit. Of course, they didn't follow real life rules so now Rex found himself in the weird position of having to relearn how his builds—the ones he had designed himself—worked.
"I want to target Distrust again. I think I'll go with the Punk Busters. And I want to boost my dodge... because apparently I can do that, right?"
"Well, but, I-" Veela had started.
"Hey Veela, where you at?" Blue's voice suddenly came from one of Veela's pockets.
"Eep!" Veela squeaked, then fished through her pocket and grabbed her communicator. "Oh, hey Blue. Sorry, I'm at the library right now" she reported.
"Are you still your regular size?" Blue's voice asked.
"Y-yeah" Veela responded.
"Ah, good. Hartwig, John, and I all got shrunk today, so we'll be needing your help with stuff today. Oh, but since you're at the library, ask the librarian if she could give you something for Hartwig to fly with, alright? John and I are already good, but Hartwig's been stuck down on the floor" Blue's voice told her.
"Uh, sure thing, Blue" Veela muttered, then looked over at the Miss Tairee on the central desk. The Miss Tairee shook her head.
"Sorry, no flight. I could give him some gear to climb with, including grappling hooks" Miss Tairee said, having heard the exchange.
"Oh. Well, I'll take that I suppose. Better than nothing" Veela said. Miss Tairee nodded her head and started typing.
Down below in the central area of the desks, the marine's posture didn't seem to change. "By the numbers, boys" the marine responded to Caboose.
A second, identical marine suddenly appeared in front of the barracks then, announcing his new existence with, "Armed and ready!" The second marine then looked at the first and added, "Go go go!" Both marines then started running out of the desks area, moving towards one of the revolving doors along with an SCV that took to following them.
A factory not too far away then suddenly had a tank appear in front of it,
◊ making a comment of, "Ready to roll out!" The siege tank rolled over a bit closer to Caboose and stopped, pointing its turret barrel at him. "Speak up!" the tank then commented.
Meanwhile, on the tray Fastanook was holding, Louie and Thomas looked up at Ben. "Oh hey Ben! I see you were lucky enough to stay the same size" Louie said, then looked back at Fastanook and asked, "hey could you let me off on that desk please? I need to ask the librarian for stuff to help my claydol."
Wells kept glaring at Ben, but Nails stood up and held his hands up defensively. "Whoa hey, Ben, first off we technically don't know which Riddler it is yet. Those comics have a convoluted... Well, multiverse to them, and I think in some of them, the bad guys are the good guys, and vice versa" Nails pointed out. "Also I'd bet that some of the Riddlers are more, well, evil than others. Maybe this one just like, robs places but doesn't like to hurt people" the militia member continued.
"We should also see if he can be convinced to work on our side, given the situation we're all in together. It would be better to have someone that capable helping us, rather than have to spend the effort to lock him away" Wells said, in a stern tone.
Elsewhere in the lobby, the Miss Tairee who had been waiting near the children for them to wake up moved over towards Cole. "That's an alpaca, Cole. They're like llamas, but smaller" Miss Tairee told him simply.
"It's still very rude! What kind of meanie culture encourages being rude to people? When you get home, you should tell them to change it" Little Spiderbee said, apparently completely seriously. She then hopped up slightly and started to buzz her wings as she looked at Astolfo and Vambre on the hippogriff. "You're looking for a very large building; it's not the tallest but it is probably the biggest. It's round and has glass on all the sides, plus a dome on top in the middle" the fairy politely explained to them, though did not realize that her voice might be hard to make out over the wing buzzing.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I should go find the radio station and check on Jeff and Adam" Little Spiderbee then told them, taking a moment to adjust her dress with a sort of displeased expression, then flew upwards above the rooftops.
"... Kid, unless you can fly or something, you ain't getting up onto a toilet today. Look, I think there's a potted plant out in the hallway. If you can climb up into that, then go ahead and relieve yourself there" Dave said to Morty.
"Most things in many universes are ultimately based on luck. Typically the best you can do is, like in this game system, make sure the odds are stacked in your favor" Tester commented to Rick after his commentary towards Distrust, who was mainly ignoring Rick. Then after Rex's comment, Tester explained, "Larger foot stride combined with the fact that attacking an opponent can be done with your large boots, and can thus be done as part of moving around to make yourself a harder target to hit."
Tester's screens then flashed quickly in silence for a moment. "Now, actions are processed. We will begin the next turn with free actions and defensive boosts" Tester began. Among the party, that just meant Rex landing next to the melee and having his boogie pack go away in favor of his punk busters; he then started swaying a bit in place. Since Eve was still controlling her own body, nothing happened with her for the moment. Guilt C, next to Sans, Rick, and Rex, started to sway back and forth some more.
"Most special actions" Tester announced simply. Rick's portal gun appeared in his hand and he fired it, making a portal in the air next to him. After stepping through it, Rick appeared some ways away, just on the other side of one of the crevices in the landscape. then, Distrust stopped stabbing at the ground and stood up, looking around.
Guilt A arrives at the battle!
Guilt A rolls initiative!
2+3=5 End of order, simultaneous with Resentment.
And then just beyond where Rick teleported to, another Guilt materialized, slithering forward as if appearing out of the darkness. It looked at Rick in front of it, and hissed angrily.
"That Guilt will not get an action this round. Now, melee attacks" Tester went on.
7+10=17
Eve must use boosted Dodge!
3+6=9 result: hit!
The giant child silhouette again reached down, this time snatching Eve up and starting to squeeze...
2+20=22
Eve must use Defense!
14+7=21 result: hit!
Eve takes 12 damage! Eve loses her action!
And like with Curly before, the massive hand then slammed Eve down into the ground, taking a bit over a third of her health off in the process. "see how easy this is for me? you guys should just give up if you know what's good for you" Resentment said.
"He's trying to get you to empower him again! Don't let him get to you!" Friendship yelled from the cage.
11+3=14
Lewis uses Defense!
1+5=6 result: hit!
Guilt E deals 8 damage!
Guilt E hissed and swung her clawed hand out at Lewis; Lewis' body automatically tried to bring an arm up to deflect the swing away with his forearm, but instead the slash went into his upper arm. Like with Rick, the hand just seemed to clip into Lewis, though in this case perhaps that made more sense; and once again dripped out black goo onto the ground as it pulled away, but this time when it dissipated, what was left behind was a pinkish, glowing mist that likewise dissipated in a moment.
... It automatically fails!
Guilt D hissed angrily and indignantly at the air where Rick's portal had just been, before turning her attention towards Sans and Rex.
17+3=20
Guilt E uses Dodge!
20+5=25 result: miss!
His body once again acting on its own, Lewis moved forward and threw a punch at the Guilt; a rather impressive downward swing, at that. But unfortunately, the Guilt coiled back quickly in an even more impressive acrobatic feat, leaving his punch hitting nothing but the ground, cracking it slightly.
"can't even kill a guilt that's already weakened. tisk tisk" Resentment smugly commented.
10+5=15
Distrust uses Dodge!
3+7+3=13 result: hit!
Rex deals 20 damage! Distrust is defeated!
Distrust looked towards Rex with a smug grin and said, "boy haven't you paid attention yet? No human can beat m-"
There was a almost sickening crunch as Rex slammed down onto Distrust with both of his giant feet, impacting with enough force to leave an indent of them into the ground about an inch deep. Distrust's body, or at least, what remained of it, then started to glow a bright white, and the whole party's senses were all overwhelmed for a moment-
I slithered around the edge of the pond, smiling and raising an eyebrow. "And what if I find this... Attraction a little hard to believe? What is it you could really see in a lamia like me?" I asked, keeping my tone playful.
Sir Tristen stood there, his armor shining in the sun's rays with his helmet in hand, letting his rugged but friendly features show. He gave me a smile before he spoke in a warm tone. "Your eyes, they captivate me. And your tail glistens like a beautiful summer's pond."
I had to pause a moment, as I felt my heart flutter. "Well... Aren't you quite the romantic..." I said a bit quieter, slithering up to him and laying my arms across his shoulders. "But how about... Some more proof?..." I whispered sensually, as I coiled my tail around him. Tristen didn't look worried, and smiled even more as he caressed my cheek with his free hand. He moved his face forward. I moved my face forward. We kissed.
The kiss was wonderful... It made me so happy. More happy than I ever remember feeling in my whole life.
...
... Why?...
Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY!? WHY!? WHY!? WHY!? WHY!? WHY!? WHY MUST THIS BE MY HAPPIEST MEMORY!? I HATE YOU! YOU TOOK EVERYTHING FROM ME! I HATE YOU I HATE YOU I HATE YOU HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE!
Reality, or rather, the mental landscape, snapped back into focus somewhat abruptly.
"... The remaining actions of the turn were all attacks against Distrust, so it effectively ends there. With only one thing remaining" Tester told them.
Curly's body moved on its own, charging towards the position Distrust had been standing at, or where Rex now was; though she didn't attack once she got there, obviously. Next to Rex's feet, Trust rolled out of the busted cage, then got up on his knees and shook his head a bit before starting to dust himself off.
Resentment looked towards Rex with slightly widened eyes for a moment. "... well, you chumps still aren't lucky enough to get me" Resentment then stated in an attempt to be smug, as he pulled another coin from his pocket and started flipping it up into the air and catching it over and over.

You are reading this.I had a feeling this Guilt's dice were trying to spite me.
No, really. Taking damage to it thanks to a crit fail and failing to hurt it back due to it getting a crit success on the same turn, when it was on its last legs? Or tail, as it stood? Nothing in this fight had been, and perhaps nothing would be, more frustrating.
Not helped by Resentment rubbing it in. I flipped him off. Not like he could afford to be cocky when he'd just lost his main ally.
It was plain to see, with the flash, and the brief taste of what it was like to read someone's mind.
("It made me so happy. More happy than I ever remember feeling in my whole life... Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?!")
...So that's how it was.
I had...figured it was something along those lines. Hah, a crush. I shouldn't have been surprised. Anything involving romance was always so fickle.
Why?
I stared at nothing in particular in a mixture of bitterness, empathy, and not entirely vicarious hurt...and gradually pointed at the newly-summoned Guilt from the last fight.
"...Melee object. Charge."
After a brief look around where it didn't seem to understand what it was looking at, the alpaca attempted to give Cole a small, wet lick on the face, and then the hat. It may have thought said hat was edible.

i guess you can watch me shitpost i guess"That's not what I meant!" Arcade cried indignantly. He had to marvel briefly at how terrible he was at talking to Cole. "I just hate being small like this beca-" he cut himself off when he saw the alpaca, staring at it.
Once it started to lick Cole, he began to skitter away again with much more blind terror than he'd moved away from Cole. "That, that is... These things grow and they try and eat everything," he yelled, pointing at the alpaca, "they're not supposed to be this big and then they keep following their instincts and then they try to eat people! That's what happened to everything in the Wasteland." He did not notice how close he was to falling off the desk as he tried to escape the alpaca.

I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life."Eve|Mindscape|Power Of Friendship, Bitch
Eve just looked at Rex. "...I never claimed to be good with people...." she responded quietly. There was downside to being able to control her own actions, she realised now, as she watched the flashing screens which denoted the dice roles.
She had to let herself get hit.
She had to stand there at let herself get hit, lest she received whatever the punishment for breaking the dice roles was. And she had no doubts that it would probably be worse than however much damage she got from this. Eve stood there and waited, not even bothering to move, and braced herself for what was coming.
Eve pulled herself slowly off the ground, showing no signs of pain, and simply dusted off her skirt. She looked at Resentment. "...that doesn't matter. I will throw myself into this mindscape over and over if that means Silenea can be a little bit happier....that her life will become slightly better......I don't even know her...I don't even know her... and I'm happy to do that much. I wonder what her friends would do?"
"We only have to win once."
Before she could say anything more, she was briefly overwhelmed by an experience which wasn't hers, a soul-searing hatred, a deep sorrow. Eve raised a hand to her eye, and rubbed it, feeling it come away wet. She couldn't tell if she was crying for Silenea or for something else. Eve shook her head, clearing the alien emotions away, thinking about her next move. "...Tester? Health regeneration as a free action, please. And a charged melee at Resentment. Nanocutters." A small, slight smile came onto her face as Resentment mentioned luck. It wasn't much, a small upturn at one of the corners of her mouth. But it was confident. "...luck....I wonder....I used to travel with a Black Cat................what did he used to say?......Oh yes......I've come to deliver some bad luck."

[TOP SECRET]Spyro-Library'
Spyro accepted the Walkie Talkie from Ben, standing on his hind legs again so that he could fiddle with the stations. Once everything was set up, Spyro stashed it in his inventory, coming to rest on all fours again. "Thanks Ben."
It was then a newcomer joined the conversation, a guy named Cole. Apparently he'd been acting weird the other day, but Ben seemed to trust him. Sounded like he'd been possessed or something. Eh, as long as it was dealt with.
Then Ben and a military guy got into an argument about some guy named 'the Riddler'. Man, what a lame name. Spyro would bet all his gems that the guy went about spewing lame riddles, while apparently committing crimes. He'd be sure to be on the look out for a guy like that.
Arcade chose that moment to start freaking out over a...Spyro wasn't sure what it was, but man was it fluffy. Apparently it was called an Alpaca. "Dude, relax. Preeeeetty sure that thing's a herbivore," Spyro said, holding a wing up to make sure Arcade didn't back himself off the desk.
Cole seemed rather mollified at the hug from Ben, and the defense of him not being an evil creature...not anymore, at least. He nodded faintly, rubbing at his eyes as Ben spoke of them doing fun things together, and nodded a bit. "I...think I would like that..."
"...alpaca?" Cole asked, as Miss Tairee told him what the large thing was called. He winced at being licked, gripping at his hat and stepping back, trying to protect it from being eaten. "...it reminds me of horses, but...also of rams. ...it is a strange creature."
He glanced over at Arcade, who seemed to be...having something of a panic attack. But this time he was looking at the "alpaca" rather than at him, and speaking of how the giant things back in his home would try to...
Ah.
Cole was quick to move closer to the desk, looking a little concerned. "P-please don't fall...that is a long fall...don't get hurt, Arcade, please, it's all right...I...I don't even like meat, it hurts to eat it..."
Library
Makoto tuned out most of what was going on around her as she crossed the lobby, trying to keep an eye on where Riddler was before he slipped away entirely. She did catch a few snippets of what the militia and a boy with a clunky looking watch were arguing over. it was something about comics, multiverses, and morality, but she didn't have time to think about what they meant by it.
She had to summon Anat again to wedge the doors open quicker, which she hoped wouldn't drag any attention to her, and she slipped outside. Makoto stopped and glanced around to see if anyone was nearby, and then made her way around the circular building, trying to intercept the Riddler whenever he came out.
Outside the library
Garrett, unseen, had followed Makoto out of the library, and now proceeded to go after her, careful to stay out of her sight.
"Now where's this girl going?...," Garrett said to himself under his breath. Why wasn't she heading away from the library? That was suspicious.
Okay, so there was the possibility that she wanted to quickly rendez-vous with the Riddler one last time. Ah, whatever. At any rate there was no harm in following her for a bit.
Nothing.
All of Yuna's attempts to contact anyone she knew had met the same result. Togo, Fu, Itsuki, Karin, her parents... each one of them she tried to call, and each time she failed. It seemed that, despite her phone having signal, something was preventing her from communicating with other people. Neither voice nor text messages seemed to work either. It was really strange. Had something happened to her phone? Did something affect it so badly that it just wasn't working the way it should? Would she need a replacement? But what would happen to Gyuki and Kasha?
Right on cue, as if her inner thoughts had been answered, two otherworldly creatures appeared from streams of light to each side of the middle schooler. One was a pink cat with flaming paws and a halo above its tail, the other was a white cow with wings and an image similar to a tattoo of a cherry blossom on its side.
And both of them were genuinely massive.
"What..." Before Yuna had a chance to regain her senses and metaphorically pick her jaw back up from the floor, both faeries flew away, naturally curious by the huge colorful nature of the buildings around them. "Gyuki! Kasha! I told you you can't just pop out like that!"
It took Yuna a few seconds of fumbling with her phone to at least recover one of her faeries. Kasha was quickly engulfed in light and disappeared, leaving only Gyuki flying around. But before Yuna could dismiss the winged cow as well, it picked her up with its relatively tiny hands, and placed her on the top of its head before it took off up and away.
At this point Yuna was starting to panic a little, mostly because of what people could think if they saw a gigantic cow flying about, but fortunately the street she was in seemed to be deserted. On the other hand, Gyuki did not seem content with just flying on that street, and it quickly ventured above the toy boxes.
Yuna had no choice but to hold on to her faery when it started to fly around with no goal in mind. Upon realizing that Gyuki would probably not be stopping for the time being, she started to consider the thought that she may as well enjoy herself until she could land. And surely there was a lot to enjoy. The fresh air hitting against her, the beautiful view of the place, the excitement of flying hundreds of feet up in the air... it was all unique and new and simply amazing, and she had to make sure to treasure every second of it.
If only her friends were there... surely they'd love it.
Out of the corner of her eye, she was able to spot something... a building in between all the toyboxes. Wait, did that mean that the building was the size of a toybox, or that the toyboxes were the size of buildings? Well, she wouldn't find out just by looking at it... but she didn't exactly have a way to lead Gyuki. Which meant she'd have to come up with one!
Hero Club Tenet #5: You are likely to succeed if you try!
"Hmmm... hey, Gyuki! Let's go see if that building has food!"
Surprisingly, that was more than enough to motivate the cow-like faery to set course for the odd building and fly as fast as it possibly could.

And Caboose continued misinterpreting the situation. The soldier obviously meant he could tell the future through numbers. The way that he might have described the marine would be Sarge if he wasn't a pirate. Either way, when the tank pointed at him and told him to speak up, Caboose drew a rather worrying conclusion.
"Oh... um, I'm sorry about what happened to Sheila," he said with the air of someone trying to delicately break news to someone. "But even though she isn't a tank anymore, she's still around. She works for this bald guy that is in charge of a bunch of space pirates and is still doing fine so don't worry about your sister."
If no one intervened Caboose would literally never figure this out.
Why is a yam attacking me?"That thing about breaking bones wasn't a joke" Rex said since clearly Distrust hadn't seen his own demise coming. Which, speaking of, it came with some kind of flashback to when Silanea met Sir Tristen. It took Rex a while to react after it was over, mostly because he wasn't expecting it but also because it was hard to tell if it was actually over. At least it was good news.
"Looks like we're finally making some progress here. If it helps I also kissed someone I hate, so I can relate"
Overviewing the scene once more, Rex looked Guilt D who seemed to have taken an interest on Sans and him.
"Don't worry, lady. There's enough to go around for everyone" he faced Tester again "Same deal, charge at her and boost my dodge"
"Teenage hormones make you do stupid things," said Rick aloud as he eyed up the next Guilt advancing on his position, as though Silanea could hear him right now. "I mean, what? Just look at everyone here. Don't even get me started on Morty."
Rick sighed, took a quick swig from his flask, and returned to sizing up the monster approaching him. "Okay, I, uh, I shoot him. I shoot this... guy right here."
"Look, I'll - I'll just, uh, go find somewhere to do it in peace, okay?" said Morty, who wasn't really comfortable with the idea of being in the same room as someone while trying to void in peace... even if they were both six inches tall and the current room was capable of hosting the Super Bowl. "I'll just - I'll just slip out over here, okay?"
"Sure, right," Arcade said to Spyro "I'm just going to believe that like I believed that the cat earlier wasn't trying to kill me less than an hour ago by crushing me." Spyro's wing suddenly looming over him caused him to stop moving.
Cole tried to assure Arcade that he wasn't going to eat him, which caused him to stare at Cole in confusion. "I... Didn't think you would eat me," he said, "I'm sorry if what I said implied that I'm afraid of you at all. I am slightly uncomfortable that you're so much larger than me, but the same could be said of this desk, or that couch. I just don't like the changes today; it's nothing to do with you specifically."
Miss Tairee's assurances did calm him down slightly; he knew that even normal librarians were not to be trifled with. Her question seemed to startle him slightly. He hesitated as he tried to think of something that relaxed him and eventually said, "a collection of poems by Catullus?"
I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life."

So, Arcade was being offered a ride by a... Dragon? He'd seen enough in the city that he wasn't shocked, but it was a little surprising. Luckily Spyro seemed intelligent and not about to try and crush him to death.
Of course, that was when Cole mentioned that he thought Arcade was scared of him. That caused him to pause in confusion. "Cole, I'm not scared of you in particular," he insisted, "I just don't enjoy being reminded of all of the super mutants and deathclaws that have tried to kill me over the years. And everything here dwarfs all of the super mutants and deathclaws from the Wasteland."
