Arcade sighed in relief at the change of topic. He frowned in thought, trying to think of something positive that wasn't the time he spent at the amusement park trying to avoid his problems.
"Well... I suppose in terms of interesting people," he said, "Silanea over there is the leader of a group of non-humans. I haven't talked to them about their official policies or anything, but I believe it's for protection against the more xenophobic humans around here."

I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life."Whatever it was, Lewis didn't want to talk about it. That was fair enough, this was probably not the best time to talk about it either. Curly and Rex showed their sheets next, Curly was surprisingly powerful while Rex was surprisingly weak but versatile. They both had the same level too, so that was an interesting little detail.
So up here we had to fight Silanea's resentment and distrust. The former made Sans wonder if there would some directed at him thanks to everything that happened in that wish competition and the latter... Well, that was probably going to be a hard one.
The AI who was guiding through this whole thing mentioned that the things placed in the meditation room that gave it it's calming feeling were turned off. Now that was a little worriying since that meant that there was something going on outside and they had no idea what it could be. Hopefully the others would be able to keep them safe for the duration of this game.
Before much else could be said they were apparently going to be ambushed and had to roll the dice. Sans heard the sound of them showing in the little can on my wrist and so he did as instructed.
"well, let's get rolling."

As Ben entered, he looked confused at Fastanook's explanation of what was going on.
"A trance? Then wake them up!" Ben exclaimed. "Slap them in the face, pour water on them, something! They need to get out before the giant monster crushes 'em!" He looked at his watch. Still red. He sighed. "My watch is still cooling down. Once it comes back on I'll go out there and help fight the monster! Maybe try and lead it away from the hospital."
I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.Quickly scanning Rex's sheet led to at least one interesting item before she passed it on, "If nothing else, it means the two of us can talk on radio if we need to split the group up"
Though further evaluating the team's strengths and weaknesses was interrupted by the news that the meditation room's effect was disabled. "Then there's something in the room messing with the magic? Looks like we'd better hurry" Curly said as she grabbed the dice from her cup and rolled
Anders glanced over to Silanea, raising an eyebrow at her for a moment. "...just xenophobic humans, eh?" he asked. "That's actually a little novel. Back in Thedas I'm guessing all the races are xenophobic to each other. I'm guessing that from how often they tell me as much. One of the other Wardens is an elf and she goes on rather regularly about how repugnant and horrible humans are, pretty much right to my face." He chuckled a little. "And then Oghren led her on about the dwarves having their babies come from rocks and such. ...it was all really very amusing. Of course, I told Oghren about monsters shaped like pants called schleets that roam the surface. ...the Commander hasn't really forgiven me for the sight of Oghren running about the Keep in nothing but his smallclothes for over a week. But what can I say, he called me a manskirt-wearing freak. I had to explain why the robes were superior to pants, after all."
Anders just grinned slightly, reaching over to put a hand on Arcade's leg, as though to just keep his attention. "I could also tell you about the time I tricked the Templars into letting me get outside so I could jump into the lake and swim to freedom without them being able to catch me. A hundred pounds of heavy Templar armor does not float well, after all. I have a lot of stories to tell."
Arcade listened to Anders with a small smile. It sounded like he had a... Colorful group of friends back home. The more people who had something worthwhile to return to, the more hope Arcade felt.
He didn't need to pretend his future was bright, and he didn't need it to be. There were still people who had gone through trouble and found themselves something to return to. The small respite in the city before his death just proved that there was hope for other people out there.
That was enough, he decided with a small nod. Even if Ben found his enjoyment of the city abhorrent, the chance to see people with futures let Arcade accept that his would be brief.
The hand on his leg snapped him out of his reverie. A small blush started to form on his cheeks, and his smile grew slightly. "If I ever find myself near any pure water while trying to avoid some Brotherhood of Steel grunts, I might steal that trick," Arcade said, amused.
I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life.""Brotherhood of Steel? They sound cheerful." Anders tilted his head to one side, glancing around the room, checking on everything around them a moment. "What is it about groups calling themselves 'brotherhoods' or 'orders' or something like that? It sounds so cheerful, like 'oh we are all brothers here,' but then they're all 'oh wait, you aren't one of us, die you monster'. Really I'm all about a nice group of folks who hang out together but then they turn around and try to murder everyone else. Can't they just make a nice clubhouse and get together once a week for tea, cards, and chanting arcane praises to their destructive gods, without having to involve the rest of us?"
He looked over to Arcade after he finished checking over the room. "The energy in here feels a bit different. I can't get a good feel for it, especially not missing my own magic, but...ah well. Things seem to be all right, at least."
He hadn't really moved his hand yet, seemingly having forgotten about it's placement for the moment.
The plan was simple: Beat Silanea's resentment and distrust to get to the next level and destroy five of her guilts.
"Oh ok, so we just have to punch their faces in—I hope they have faces"
Lewis sort of explained how to play the game to Eve. Rex was still wrapping his head around it but that was mostly because he really didn't want to deal with it. At least the kiss was quick. This was going to take a while. Not to mention Wells was going to drag his ass off to the ship the second they were done here.
But right now the sheets were the important part. Lewis had an odd question "Yeah, 'Big Fat Sword'. Why?" and Curly pointed out a helpful radio mechanic of the game so not everything was bad news.
"I guess" Speaking of... "Wait, we have signal in here?"
Oh and Eve's sheet was bullshit but at this point Rex couldn't care less. No matter how strange this place was, the challenge still boiled down to making fun of him. He was getting used to it.
And just to make things even better, there was something outside messing with the runes of the room they were physically in.
"What's going on outside?" Rex said, rolling the dice to deal with whatever passed for an ambush in this game. He didn't want to play along but if this was what he had to do to help Silanea, he was going to do it.
"Oh, you don't understand," Arcade snarked, "they're the only ones who can be trusted with advanced technology. 'Outsiders' might abuse the power and attack innocent civilians who have something they want. Like powerful technology that the Brotherhood should have." He rolled his eyes with a small huff, in a slightly better mood than before Anders had placed his hand.
The topic of magic left Arcade feeling slightly lost, again. The most he could understand was that the room they were in was special somehow. "Well, Dave did call it the meditation room," he said, "maybe it enhances meditation magically? If that's a thing?"
I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life."Miss Tairee looked over at Mary and the fluffy creature, then typed for a couple moments on her computer. "That's an alpaca. They're similar to llamas, but smaller" Miss Tairee answered Mary simply.
"Would you like to hang out with the other children, Mary?" Miss Tairee then offered, motioning to where the other children were hanging out with another of Miss Tairee currently reading a story book to them.
"I already tried to wake them up; I couldn't" Dave said to Ben, since Fastanook was already leaving the building at that point. "I think it's some kind of magical trance, though what kind of magic I haven't the slightest idea" the doctor added.
The troll then paused for a moment, raising up a hand and rubbing his fingers together, his eyebrows lowering in some confusion. "... Something just turned off my magic. I wouldn't be surprised if their trance is responsible; or maybe the trance got turned off too. I left somebody up there to keep an eye on them" Dave then mentioned.
"You have a signal to each other. You cannot currently contact the physical world" Tester clarified after Rex brought up the topic.
"If you fail your perception rolls, you will be left unable to act and your defensive values will be ignored for the first round of combat" Tester then idly mentioned while waiting for Rick and Morty to do their rolls. With a little more screen flashing, another of those simple rulebooks appeared in the same de-pixellation effect as before, for Eve.
You are reading this."Technology? Sounds rather like what I've heard of the Qunari back home. Bunch of brutes and savages, they are...but at least for the most part they stay to themselves." Anders shrugged a little, and moved his hand, only to just sort of drape an arm over Arcade's shoulders, letting out an exaggerated sigh. "My dear Arcade it does sound as though your world is just as much fun as mine. But here, oh, I've been here an hour and been attacked by demons, had my clothes turned into candy-,"
He seemed to remember something at that point, and abruptly plucked a couple more chocolate feathers with his free hand, offering one to Arcade. "Anyway. This place is fun. I'm sure I won't be saying that in the next ten minutes if whatever is out there destroying everything gets here, but you know, horrific monsters bent on destroying the world. Nothing really new."
Oh Dear, Desert > Hospital
The boy and his pelican found them the hospital. "Look convincing to me." She chuckled at Delta's frugal acknowledgement before she nodded at Orchid and followed the rest heading to the hospital...
...only to be met with some kind of thing rampaging indiscriminately nearby what Shenhua assumed to be the hospital in question. Charming. "Never a dull day, yes?" She hummed, readying the knives. The glowing spheres the thing held looked like obvious weakspots, and it seemed Spyro's attack actually made it flinch. It was smart enough to try and find cover while ignoring attacks that were not actually harmful to it.
There was some fighters at the scene already, like a man in black running in guns blazing like a dumbass and another one in red armor running in guns blazing like a dumbass. Figures. Give man a gun, he would lose his goddamn mind. Roanapur lived by that rule. No matter. Shenhua got close enough for a knife throw - and far enough to not get clipped by one of Kurt's blades - before releasing the trio at the other sphere unlike the one Wang and Caboose were shooting at.
"Guns? Barbaric." She teased the former with a small smile, readying another bunch of knives and ready to reposition herself if need to.

Qunari? Arcade raised an eyebrow at the unfamiliar term. Most of what Anders had mentioned were terms from his universe, but he wasn't sure what to make of that one. The tone he was using to describe them was a little disconcerting, but if they were comparable to the Brotherhood of Steel, he couldn't exactly throws stones, could he?
Any concerns were briefly scattered when Anders threw an arm around his shoulders again. He'd almost forgotten what it was like to be in such close contact with an attractive man. He seemed to mostly be interacting with children and skeletons, he reflected.
He took the feather and distractedly ate it. "Well, if it does decide to visit, we'll need to relocate, won't we?" He asked, quietly, "somewhere we won't get interrupted quite so easily."
I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life."Ben raised an eyebrow when Dave said that it was a magical trance. He shrugged and shook his head. "I dunno anything about magic, but once my watch cools off I can totally deal with the monster. Until then, you guys need any more help with anything?" he asked, looking a bit impatient.
He hated waiting for the watch, especially when he was needed!
I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither."Well I mean we'd have to fight the thing, we wouldn't be very good guards if we just ran off as soon as a threat showed up. That would be pretty...bad. Actually." He absent-mindedly handed Arcade the other feather, glancing around the room at everyone again. "Not that this isn't all terribly interesting, but...maybe if we don't die in the next however-long-there's-a-rampaging-monster, we should go see what else there is to eat out there today. I know the sands are all sugar...though Ser Pounce, ah...defiled some of them...still, I'm curious."
He offered something of a sly grin, looking over at Arcade. "Though, going somewhere to not be disturbed sounds nice as well. Maybe a bit of both?"
Arcade blinked dumbly, remembering that they were working and not just flirting. He sheepishly accepted the second feather, eating that almost as quickly as the first. "Well, everything is edible today," he noted.
Returning Anders's grin, if slightly more lopsided, he said, "you have something in mind?"
I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life."Kamina placed his hand on Simon's shoulder, telling him as Simon looked at him "Yeah bro! Gurren Lagann is a Gunmen made by two bro's uniting together to fight against the impossible! I can't do that without you Simon! Your drill is the drill that will pierce the heavens!" and with that, Simon tilted his head down, withdrawn face on. If just the two girls had said that, he wouldn't have accept it as fact. But they two said it so surely and Kamina had backed them up. Feats.....back home that was something Kamina was know for. He was just a digger. But just now, two people believed in him and so did Kamina like always.
Simon's face smiled warmly and he said "Maybe she's right bro" and Kamina replied back with "Of course she is Simon! After all, I agreed with it and you can always believe in the me who believes in you! Now, let's go show her how right she is by giving this bozo a taste of Gurren and Lagann!" and that's when Simon looked up and noticed that everyone was already moving out. With a quick nod from Simon, the bro's ran after everyone on foot.
And which soon brought the two where Shenhua stood, one on each side of her. Kamina took in the rampaging armored snake thing and he knew that him and Simon could handle this! It was just like a beastman style Gunmen! "Don't worry! This bastard is nothing even close to what Team Dai-Gurren has beaten before! Come on Simon, we will show him just who the hell we are!" and the two ran forward Kurt Ziza, entering Gurren and Lagann right before the start of the sprint.

Spyro-Hospital
Spyro watched in satisfaction as one of his fireballs hit home, and the big lug flinched. Looks like he was right on the money. Those Orbs were important. "Alright! Go for the orbs you guys!" Spyro shouted, ready to fire away again.
The Big guy, though, decided to put a whole building between them, momentarily putting a stop to Spyro's plan. Spyro couldn't help but snort though. If the big guy thought that that would be enough to get rid of him, he was sorely mistaken. Spyro was more than fast enough to make up the distance between him and this big coward. With a charge, Spyro blasted off the dune, and kept charging until he was once more in firing range of Kurt. He then began firing once more at the retreating figure, running right along side the figures carrying guns, Shenhua, and the two cool dudes who turned into mechs.

Digger - Desert > Hospital
I looked past the behemoth in the diving suit to the newcomer. "Isn't this place always—oh, yeah. What the dragon said."
I followed the group to the hospital—or, whatever part of it that already hadn't been destroyed. I watched the scene unfold with a mix of awe and terror and, somehow, disinterest. While everyone else rushed in to do their hero crud, I stood back by the dunes to...assess the situation. Figure out a strategy. Those glowing orbs looked pretty—wait, they already figured that out. Okay then.
(holds pool noodle threateningly) Do you want to know what we do to artists?"Hello ladies and gentlemen, we're back, and more breaking news!" Adam's voice said, sounding a little huffed, like he had just been in a hurry.
"What the militia believes to be the day challenge thingamabob is currently underway, and attacking the area near the hospital! They're trying to get the hospital evacuated so that nobody gets hurt if the building is damaged in the fight. Granted you folks will probably find it obvious if you're anywhere near there, but just so you know what to look out for, it's a two story tall, snake headed thing with six arms, apparently" Jeff's voice said, likewise sounding a bit huffed.
"There's a team from the NHA on the way to help fight the thing now, as well as multiple militia patrols trying to make their way there. They're finding the city shifting a bit more difficult to deal with than usual however; here's hoping some of those heroic types also get there to pitch in" Adam's voice added on, having caught his breath now.
"These things usually have a reward, don't they?" Jeff's voice added, sounding like he was just wondering out loud.
"Yeah, I've heard that for today it's that big buffet place will start existing every day if this thing is defeated" Adam's voice answered.
In short order, there was a whole, little group joined up to throw their attacks at Kurt Zisa: Lo Wang, Caboose, Shenhua, Spyro; all unleashing their assault from just far enough away that Kurt's blades wouldn't reach them in a swing. Caboose's wild firing on Kurt wasn't really doing anything, but Wang's concentrated fire on one orb along with Spyro's assistance finally popped it with a small flash of energy; Shenhua's daggers got started on the other orb, but didn't come close to finishing it off yet... And then, Kurt showed that despite its huge size and clanking armor, it was by no means slow.
Kurt made one large, sudden lunge forward at the group, clearing multiple times the length of its own body in a single moment and stopping practically right on top of the group. In the same motion, the two large swords were brought back as it lunged, then swung forward as it landed, sweeping the blades right into all four of them.
"Oh, jeez!" Louie commented from the nearby rooftop, and then recalled Lil' Sunny to her pokeball. Considering his options, he called out Pecha, and huddled together with Pecha and Swishee for a moment, quietly talking over some strategy with the two of them.
Fastanook had been running out towards the fight and quickly stopped once he saw that attack, looking understandably terrified. Still, after taking a moment to shake it off, he started to fire his phaser at Kurt's head while running away from the hospital, though it seemed to do nothing, and Kurt didn't even seem to care.
Kurt then looked over, as not too much farther away, Kamina and Simon were making their charge, with Orchid and Delta a little ways behind them. As Delta brought Orchid closer, she would of course feel all her magic go away, save for whatever made her golem body able to move. Lloyd however, was not so lucky, and went completely inactive, falling out of Delta's shadow and hitting the sand in a limp clump.
Seeing the two miniaturized mecha charging its way, Kurt Zisa raised its arms up, holding the two large blades up high for a moment...
"Whatever you can do, kid. We're just trying to get this place cleaned out so these people won't die if that thing brings the place down" Dave said with a shrug as he waved another patient out the door.

You are reading this.Yuyuko internally remarked on how large this Library must be, the ones she was used to having magic to make them larger on the inside.
Youmu internally remarked that they probably could have killed that thing instantly if they really felt like it.
Eventually though, they arrived, and Yuyuko was kind enough to let everyone in before her (including Youmu's ghost half, which had returned aboveground at some point). As soon as they were safe, she wanted to make some idle remark about how nice this place was but, right, it was serious time for everyone else. Try to be respectful!
"So! We're all safe now, that monster's quite far from us. Unless it makes a beeline for here, we'll have nothing to worry about," Yuyuko said. "Now, are we doing nothing for the foreseeable future?"
Subject Delta - The Fight
That thing was pretty big. Delta had half a mind to just turn around and leave. That was undoubtedly the most effective way to protect the kid. But it would be temporary, since this giant snake-headed spider-crab-legged sand-tossing building-crushing son of a bitch would still be alive to fight another day.
And that would be unpleasant.
Stomping over to a shattered building, he wondered if it was also made out of toffee or chocolate or whatever other candy-coated crap everything else had been made out of. Lighting a big chunk of the 'concrete' on fire with a brief application of his Incinerate plasmid revealed that it was indeed some sort of edible. Or at the very least it wasn't cement. Switching over to his Telekinesis plasmid, he yanked it up and then threw it at the big snake-thing with a grunt, keeping it high and fast so that it would go above Kamina and Simon to give them some sort of opening. It wouldn't do to clobber his new friends in the back with burning caramel.
Well, friends was rather a strong word. They were people he wasn't currently seeking to kill, so that was already pretty good terms.
Lo Wang glanced towards the new voice at his side, taking in the appearance of the woman as he kept up his firing. Asian. Wearing a cheongsam that was split so high he could see the ties of what he was sure was a thong. Carrying a bunch of bladed weapons. Yup, crazy assassin lady seemed like a good bet. He raised an eyebrow at her words, though the teasing tone wasn't lost in him. "Are you serious, lady? I mean, I like a good blade as much as the next guy, but good luck doing jack shit with those against this guy. Guns are like shooting hundreds of little knives faster than you can throw them."
"That was one of the stupidest things I've ever heard." Hoji deadpanned.
Their conversation was suddenly cut off as someone stepped between him and the woman. The Japanese man had to do a double-take as he caught sight of the person, and the glasses they were wearing. Even with his lesser interest in his country's own shows, he knew those glasses. A glance in the other direction showed him that Spyro had joined the little group on the other side of the space-idiot, and Wang shook is head. He had no clue what the fuck was going on, but damn it was wasn't awesome.
He shoved that part of him aside for the time being, before he went into a full blown nerd attack, and focused on his target. He grinned wickedly as the orb he was shooting at popped. It was quickly wiped from his face as his eyes widened slightly, the massive beast moving far quicker than he had expected. Even Gozu hadn't moved that fast. Still, fast or not, with blades that big any swing was going to be telegraphed to hell. The moment Wang saw the blades pull back, he swore and pushed himself to sprint even faster before diving forward and into a roll that barely worked; The wind of the passing blades brushing his back. Coming to his feet, the assassin instantly began to strafe to the side to try and get out from under the giant monster, switching out his magazines as he did. Then he opened fire upwards at it. "Missed me, asshole!"

"Well, you've been here longer than I have, after all, I'd think you know better than me where to go for...various entertainments."
He studied Arcade a moment before raising his arm from around the other man's shoulders, just long enough to tap very lightly at the bridge of his glasses. "You know I've only seen maybe one or two people in all of Thedas who were able to afford spectacles. Most of the things I've seen were looking glasses instead. They make you look rather...distinguished, I think. Hides your eyes a bit too much though. ...I've always liked blue eyes on a man."

Hospital Boss Fight
Wang made a smart move by speaking to Caboose in an insulting tone. That's what his friends did all the time so this guy must be decent at everything and have his best interests in mind just like Church always did oh boy. In the voice of a child eagerly excited for a game, Caboose said "I can do that. OK Freckles, Let's get em!" And so he proceeded to start running in a beeline towards the snake thing that looked, to Caboose, like a Kurt.
Despite everything wrong with him, Caboose did have some decent aiming skills even without Freckles preventing any shots from firing that would definitely result in a miss. Hitting a teammate with a sniper rifle took just as much skill as hitting an enemy with one, and Caboose was definitely good at the former. The first shot that came out of the gun was simple confetti, probably to the sheer confusion of everyone in sight. But the target was large, and with Freckles preventing most misses from occurring through user error by making confetti come out on sure misses instead of bullets, there was a high chance that subsequent shots would find their mark. Caboose kept firing.

Why is a yam attacking me?
