Taking a deep breath as she was left alone and restraining the aura of Wrath under invisible chains once more, the Priest had half a mind to go out and join the fray in question... when she felt a burst of Pride tingle through the air. It was the kind that was sullied with the flavor of justification, the one where one would have the mentality of 'if I do this it's for the greater good' or "if I should, then I need to".
Pausing for a moment before turning away from the windows and walking towards the moving source, Sin Sayer soon found herself near a couple of people clustered around a young girl with blonde hair done up in twintails. It was the child that drew her attention, like looking into a distorted mirror and remembering her own past. Heels clicking against the ground, the woman of god couldn't help but feel worry burble out from deep within her, empathy and sadness intermingling in both gaze and expression.
Wordlessly holding a hand out and wringing the remnants of holy magics out to try to heal the girl on a level that wasn't physical, the dark avenger let loose with everything she had in order to bolster the flagging and weak, to renew what was broken. Still, for all her wishes, what she could accomplish was probably minor and temporary and even then it would be something that had a lesser effect due to the City in question.
For now though, none of that mattered and she let flow repeated castings of Healing Prayer for as long as no one would interrupt her, temple throbbing with a migraine from the pressure of channeling magic so vehemently opposed to her overall nature over and over again, more thn one should perform with this kind of body. Still, the pain mattered not as long as she could save one more person...

Rex was a little relieved that Rega didn't bring up the messages or anything so his motivation for attacking him was a lot easier to make fun off.
"Oh so you are one of those. You should really chat with Marcus some day, I bet he would lo—ahh!" Rex backed off as Rega's plasma sword cut through one of his builds. He quickly opened and closed his actual hand to deal with the pain "Do you mind? I play videogames with that hand!"
But there was no time for more banter—okay, that may be an exaggeration—as another armored monster used his shoulder cannon on Lucas and then tried to draw the militia phaser shots to both Rex and Rega. Nice way of making it easy for the militia to handle it.
"Gotta go!" he said, putting on his goggles.
Rex quickly jumped out of the way with his mechanical boots—which were a grape purple now—and landed meters away from the two aliens trying to hurt him. He was closer to the library now and the distance would surely give him some space to deal with them and maybe come up with a good strategy. To be honest, punching them until they surrendered was up there in the top list.
That battle plan was interrupted by a someone falling from the library and attached to some kind of rope. Rex instinctively caught the person with both arms—being used to that kind of situation and all—when he noticed that it was none other than Mary. That explained the light weight. Rex recoiled at Mary's sight and decided to instead grab her by the back of her collar, keeping her as away from him as was humanly possible but not giving her the chance to escape to the library.
"Awesome, caught the psycho. What do I win?"

Spyro-For Whom the Bell Tolls No More
With the bell tower now properly on fire, Spyro figured the shooter had to be inside now. Quickly making his way to the closed front door of the building, Spyro readied himself for his attack. "It's time to bring down the house. Church. Whatever," Spyro said quietly to Sparx, who was now glowing bright blue instead of his usual yellow.
With a charge, Spyro would bust the door in, and then he'd start spitting fireballs everywhere, hoping to either hit the shooter or set everything on fire.

Gon, on Day 15:
With the day ending, he returned back to the apartment safehouse and decided to catch more sleep.
There was nothing to do anyway.
Day 17:
When Gon got up, feeling rested and refreshed, there was one thing he noted. For one, the weapons/gear he stockpiled was missing, including the laser rifle he secured with Ms. Tairee.
The other thing... he saw that his MA-1 jacket was now in a woodland camo finish and his boots brown. The facemask and cap used to conceal his face were also missing.
"I don't remember that I changed clothes..."
He looked outside and saw that the surroundings is similar to a desert, only this time it's filled with sugary stuff that can make you fat.
"Perhaps I ought to get something on the way."
The assassin got out of the safehouse and walked to the library, hoping to see some friendlies and get some answers.
That and to try and get a decent weapon until the day is over.
Jack smiled down at the young girl, running a hand gently through her hair. "It's no problem."
He very pointedly kept his gaze down, refusing to look out at ongoing fight and fought to ignore any voices or sounds. A particularly loud shout from Tairee made him flinch, but he hid it well and continued to comfort Eve.
The next disturbance was something different to what the Guardian expected. He glanced up at the sound of someone whispering Eve's voice, and found a vaguely familiar older man standing before him. Judging by his reaction to her condition, he was either family or close. He gave the man a sad smile. "You know her? She's... better than she was, but she could use someone close to comfort her. I'm Jack Frost. I think we've met before?"

Eve|Library|'Cause The World Might Do Me In, It's Alright 'Cause I'm With Friends
Eve looked up at the sudden arrival, both answering Jack's question and acknowledging the doctor's presence with a reaching out hand and a quiet, broken "...Arcade...". Then a woman she didn't recognise appeared. She was young, maybe, and pretty. The woman reached out a hand and Eve felt better. Not much, but Eve felt stronger. As if she was with Sven, or Train. She looked up and met her eyes, wordlessly recognising that the woman was the source of her new-found strength. "Thank you."
[TOP SECRET]Meh
It was her fault for not moving around, really. Then again, she should have known betterthan to stand still. Just because she was discluded from the general proceedings didn't mean she was safe from them.
Of course, things went to pot even as her haphazard impromptu grappling hooks didn't work quite like Shenhua would want. Mary came back first, covered in glass. "Aiya, really sorry. Thought you would splatter on wall there." A couple of glass cuts were probably better than ending as a frost topping. "I'll make up to you later, yes?" She could do that much. The poor girl no matter how much Rex would say wasn't any danger nor was she really aware of wh-
And then something killed her.
It wasn't a sudden, quick death. First there was a sharp feeling of pain, sharper than ever. Then came the blood welling in her mouth and only then did she notice the reason for all this suffering. A length of sharpened candy... such an absurd weapon, and such a bloody effective one. "Son of a..." She gasped, eyes flaring up with hatred as she sized up the invisible enemy holding the spear. "...you. Predator." She spat with blood, and then coughed up more as her body shook, impaled with the spear.
"...Rex... put... her down..." She wheezed over to the Maryhater before her head dropped down.
Am Back, Hospital
Appropriately, Shenhua woke up in the hospital, on one of the candy beds. She gasped for air again, checking where her gaping wound used to be. Nothing, not even a scratch. There was no pain, no nothing. She was as good as new.
She scoffed and checked her clothing once more before stretching. Good as new. Something about this pissed her off. She was grateful to be alive, certainly, but the cheapness of death in this city was not lost on her. Rex was right, no kill here would work. She couldn't help but wonder if the invisible assailant knew that.
She walked about until stumbling some additional strangers, that being Curly and Silanea. "Hello there."
Arcade gently took Eve's proffered hand, still looking guilty and horrified. It probably would have been more moving if the horse-like creature hadn't gone crazy and smacked into the couch. Arcade elected to ignore it.
"We met a few days ago," he said to Jack, "the fight with the doppelganger? It was after that killed me that I met Eve." He looked down at their hands guiltily, "I promised I'd protect you," he mumbled.
I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life.""M-mom? I can't... I can't!" Silanea muttered, her voice getting quieter, but more insistent and despairing in tone as her arms and shoulders started to shake and she sobbed. She didn't even notice Shenhua coming into the room, and didn't respond to her. "Mother? Mother I'm sorry! It's all my fault that it happened!" the lamia continued, her tail finally starting to move, now to wrap around herself as she continued sobbing.
You are reading this.Bubble Trouble
"I'm so sorry what happened to you, my dear. It pains me. I know we just met but I'd love to adopt you and protect you from such vitriolic awfulness in the future. My name is Edward." The Riddler called out to Yoshika, hoping she could hear him over the bubbles.
"Would you like to tell me anything about yourself? If only to pass the time?"
"Not... a problem." Voice coming out a bit more hoarse than normal due to the exertions involved in the spell maintenance, the Priest's now trembling hand slowly lowered as she found the girl had benefited. Little as it was, it was better than nothing at all and would give her the strength to try move on, something that the woman had personal experience with. Her weakened state made her body feel the heaviness of the sins all the more acutely, weighing down like an invisible stone that caused the woman to slightly hunch over while supporting herself via planted scythe. Still, from the shine in her eyes, it was all worth it. "As long as you are better... it is full of worth." Softness rarely seen by most flashed through her eyes, content that she could do her part once more.

Outside Library
The plasma shot hit Lucas mid-charge, causing him to stumble from the not insignificant amounts of pain. It was nothing life threatening thanks to his counter reflecting a good chunk of the attack, but it would definitely impair him. The pain had cleared Lucas's head of the unnatural anger he had felt, enough so that he could reflect on how stupid he was being. This is what happens when people are hasty. They go charging in like an idiot and end up getting shot before they can make any sort of impact.
Retreat would likely mean getting shot again, as would attacking. Staying where he was would also do that. Lucas figured he had enough energy left to heal himself and do one other thing with his PSI. But something stopped Lucas from trying to heal himself, something rational. Those two aliens both had ranged weapons that they were good at using. If he healed himself... all that would be left was a strong kid with a bat in the vicinity of people who could shoot him before he got close to them or the library. That was unlikely to end well for him.
But how could he deal with this? PK Love wasn't far reaching enough and bats were obviously even shorter ranged. There wasn't anything he could do... no, there was one possibility. It was a gamble, as Lucas had no idea if he could blind them with light, but it was his best shot. First, he used PK Flash in a way that should be able to potentially hit both Rega and the predator. Regardless of if that worked or not, because Lucas needed to execute this quickly, he then would throw his bat at Rega... with the added surprise of using the energy saved from not healing himself to propel it forward very quickly with the force of PK Love α.
Then Lucas would just try running as fast as he could to an entrance into the library. The unhealed wound would slow him down, but if Lucas had learned anything from all the times he had gotten hurt in battle it was how to work through the pain.

Why is a yam attacking me?Ciri - Just Outside the Library
Somehow, the ghost freak had been protected by a quen sign, the energy shield absorbing some of Ciri's sword strike before it broke. He must have cast it in the time it took her to return, so she had to make sure to strike fast before he could cast another spell on himself, and more importantly, before he could return to Seiga.Seiga's lips moved as the ghost approached her, her words masked by the ear-splittingly loud infernal music that was drowning out any chance she had of hearing. She simply hoped that whatever spell she was casting to take Yoshika's soul out of Lewis was a lengthy one, as it would give her more time to slay him. If the little zombie girl didn't wind up popping out of the dead ghost, then the necromancer's fate would be sealed.
To her great fortune - or perhaps to Yoshika's misfortune - the monster ignored her, instead foolishly thinking it could somehow outrun her. She brought Zireael up quickly, its monster-slaying runes and glyphs glistening in the ever-present high noon. Charging forwards to once again appear right behind the specter, she slashed down at an angle from the right, attacking Lewis from his right shoulder to his left hip, which she'd follow up with a pirouette into a continued flurry of strikes on the ghost.

It did not take long for Mary to be caught by yet another person once the rope tied to her stopped pulling her. Unfortunately, it was Rex, who decided that the best way to deal with her was to grab her by the back of the collar, which naturally caused the front to start choking her. Naturally, her instinctive reaction was to bring both of her hands to her neck, in order to give herself some breathing room while kicking about desperately regardless of pain, but in doing so not only did she drop her stuffed bunny, she also stopped fighting the stomach forces crawling up her throat.
What followed was the very unpleasant sight of Mary spewing forth a rancid liquid out of her mouth in all directions thanks to her incessant squirming and moving, with the random occasional solid bit of partially digested food mixed in, granting it a wide variety of colors. Naturally, this new and unknown bodily reaction terrified her, and caused her to momentarily redouble her efforts to free herself from Rex's grasp in order to breathe properly, but the hanging had already started to make her feel very lightheaded, and it was getting harder to keep struggling.
In the meantime, Shenhua's kukri and rope vanished alongside her, and a tearing sound signaled that the fabric Rex was holding Mary by would not withstand such strain much longer.
And her reaction to all that was to just go further into an emotional breakdown. I merely shook my head and stood up, heading towards the door.
"Good luck with this one, you're going to need it," I said to the little girl that was still attempting to comfort her.
I then left the room, briefly acknowledging the new arrival with a polite nod before heading off. I had to go see what happened with Chise and judging from how her position was still the same, she was definitely somewhere at the library.

The Floran turned right as Digger impacted with her, and took the impact pretty well actually, just being forced back a step and letting out a slight, "oof." Then as with others, Digger blurred and vanished, reappearing back near the central desks in a third bubble next to Yoshika's and the Riddler's.
"I know why those two did it at first, but why did you think it would go any differently for you?" the Miss Tairee there asked of Digger, then looked over and gave a slight gasp as she saw Cole. "Cole! Oh thank goodness you're..." the librarian trailed off, gave a quick glance at the situation outside, then added, "we need to talk about something, later." With that she pointed her arm at Cole and started to heal him with a green beam from the device on her arm.
Outside, Rega was going to charge after Rex still, but then Lucas' PK flash hit him and the predator. The predator didn't seem affected in the slightest, but Rega reeled back with a pained yell. And then Lucas' bat hit Rega; with two offense ups, and boosted with his PK love blast, the bat impacted Rega's chestplate with so much force that the bat promptly exploded into splinters, throwing Rega onto his back with a damaged breastplate.
The predator had been messing with the device on one of his forearms, until Rega fell next to him and unblocked phaser shots from Phillip came his way; two shots hit, but one just hit part of the predator's armor and didn't seem to do anything, while the other didn't seem to be enough to put him down with his physique. He apparently decided now was time to leave. The predator turned on the spot while falling down to a crouch on one knee, stabbing one of his forearm dual blades down into Rega's neck. As Rega disappeared, the predator sprinted to and picked up his spear from where Shenhua had died; at the same time, his targeting system aimed his shoulder blaster towards the struggle between Seiga, Lewis, and Ciri, and fired a shot of plasma... At Seiga's head. Then he braced his legs for a moment before making a mighty leap towards the church building where Spyro and the robot were.
Speaking of that struggle, Lewis was now finding himself in a bit of trouble, as the shield was still down as Ciri's assault started, (and was remaining down for now because of it) and now her blows were starting to deal more damage on top of landing repeatedly. Not having full knowledge of the situation however, Ciri was then the target of renewed phaser fire coming from Nails, who was stepping around Phillip as the latter continued trying to fire at the retreating Predator. Nails was aiming for Ciri, but didn't seem concerned about if he hit Lewis as well, so he wasn't holding back on his rate of fire.
The floran, after giving the Miss Tairee near the door a quick grin, then ran outside anyway, jumped up slightly, then started boosting herself in repeated, short bursts at a slightly upward angle, resulting in a crude flight in the same direction the predator was going.
"They're already leaving?" Louie said, keeping pace with Ben with seemingly relative ease, as he was both used to plenty of physical activity, and had slightly longer legs. He grabbed one of his pokeballs and threw it forward, releasing Swishee the pelipper. "Let's get 'em Swishee!" the trainer yelled, practically doing a running vault to get into the pelipper's bill right before she took off into the sky.
At the church, when Spyro busted in and started flinging fireballs with reckless abandon around the room, there was shortly a response of another gunshot from just behind one of the pews, which would've gone right into Spyro's eye but forced Sparx's protection to trigger again. The robot, not really all that bothered by the flames in the room, then ran back to leap through a rear stain glass window (which was now some kind of solidified corn syrup) while working the lever on its rifle.
Meanwhile, the Miss Tairee standing at the revolving doors looked in near panic as she typed a bit on her holographic screen again. "Rex! Rex! Just please bring her inside! If you do, I'll... My boss will..." Miss Tairee paused mid sentence as she read more information scrolling past, and then looked very confused, and a bit incredulous. "... He'll make me go out on a date with you?!" the librarian said, donning a quite bewildered expression despite the circumstances of the situation.
"WHAT!?" all three of Miss Tairee then yelled in equal bewilderment and shock.

You are reading this.I had her begging for mercy, pinned down at the top of the sternum, and forced myself to ignore the timbre of her voice and sing over her as loudly as I dared.
"—Fuck, it's you I hate the most..."
Still holding her down, I drew the hand holding the pin closer, aiming for her pretty little neck, before being jolted forward by another slash from behind (though managed not to stab anything...somehow). It was a horrible inferno compared to the last, which some small part of me connected to the fact that there was no blue flash, only a blue-haired bitch directly under me and two seconds from choking.
The blows kept coming.
But I refused to divert my attention from this, no matter how much glowing red not-quite-blood spilled over the sands, in small part out of fear that I wouldn't be able to bring myself to do it again, or worse, sink back into the same suffocating haze as before, but mostly out of pure, obsessive hate.
I sloppily traced a heart shape with the pin against Seiga's exposed neck, too angry and in too much pain to give a damn about neatness, then half-rolled half-shoved myself to the side and collapsed, catching a glimpse of some sort of energy attack that looked like it'd been aimed for her anyway.
No. I wanted her to feel this.
I threw a half-assed fireball at the projectile, trying to see if that'd cancel it out, and then lay there, finally looking at who was going nuts with the sword. Oh. It was the amazon lady. I guess she thought I was still being controlled.
"...This is a bad first impression, isn't it."
i guess you can watch me shitpost i guessPhoenix figured that sitting on the ground was no way to hide from a fight. He scurried backwards, pulling Maya along as quick he could, following that Garrett fellow into the library.
The situation inside was a bit...less chaotic, at least. The (multiple) Miss Tairee seemed to have gotten a handle on everything.
As they entered, so did a strangely familiar guy in a big hat. Maya was sure she'd seen him somewhere before. One of the Tairees had notices him as well, and was doing something with him. Not wanting to waste a lot of time, Phoenix led Maya over to that Tairee. "Excuse me? Maya's arm is in a pretty bad shape, is there anyway you could fix it?"
"What?! Now way! This make me look super tough and cool!"
Ciri - Just Outside the Library
Ciri rolled out of the way and looked back at their attackers when a large fireball of some sort flew past her and towards Lewis, but the ghost intercepted it before it could connect. Instead of being able to use his distraction to finish him off, she spat in frustration as one of the idiots she had met in the hospital started shooting at them, but with such carelessness that she wondered if he was drunk. Now having to rapidly roll and charge around to avoid his aim, Lewis had managed to take advantage of the time to kill Seiga. With Seiga also died any hope of being able to retrieve Yoshika quickly. In the end it didn't really matter what happened now. Even if she died, she would just be resurrected as though nothing had happened. Seiga would be resurrected as though nothing had happened. This ghost was soon to be resurrected as though nothing had happened. Yoshika would be resurrected as though nothing had happened. Resurrected back to how Yoshika and Seiga had been when they first arrived.
Whatever sort of geas Seiga had upon her that made it so she wasn't simply able to kill herself to return Yoshika to her control these past few days, it no longer mattered. And now that the necromancer was dead, she would be safely hidden away elsewhere in the city, miles away, so they couldn't torture her, or use whatever method Rex had discovered for entering minds that he planned to use on the snake-woman.
Now all that was left was to make sure those who brought about Yoshika's death would understand pain. Her death tore a gaping hole in Ciri's heart, leaving only a burning drive for revenge to fill it.
And she intended to get her fill.
"YOU KILLED HER!" she shouted, bringing her sword around once again for another set of savage blows to Lewis's oddly-colored heart.
Jack twitched just slightly as Arcade brought up that day, smiling becoming just a little strained. That might have been why he hadn't quite recognized the man. He'd been doing his best not too think too much about that particular day. "Ah, right." Then he glanced between the two, looking surprised. "And you've only known each other a few days? That's... surprising."
Then, feeling the growing tension in the air between the two, an undoubtedly private moment about to occur, the Guardian gently shifted Eve off his lap and shuffled to the side; Smiling gently at them. "I'll let you two talk." Of course, he didn't go far. Instead, he glanced briefly at the fluffy alpaca or llama with a confused expression, then turned his attention to the woman that had wandered over and done something to Eve, brightening her spirits. Whatever it had been, it seemed to take its toll on her, leaning heavily against her scythe. She was... well, she didn't look like the kind of person Jack would expect to go out of her way to help a random child, with the dark, and interestingly designed, clothing, dark eyes and massive scythe that Pitch would be envious of. "Hey. Thank you for that. It was a kind thing to do. I'm Jack Frost."

Eve | Library | What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger?
So Arcade and Jack had met before? Based on their reactions, it hadn’t been a good first impression. Eve couldn't remember if Arcade had mentioned dying before. The blonde looked at Arcade, eyes full of sorrow. "........it's okay... She had left. She had ran. It was her choice. And what had happened was no one's fault but hers.
And Zs'Skayr's.
It said something about whatever the woman was doing that Eve didn’t shudder at that. The bioweapon looked at the source of her new-found strength and gratefully nodded. The cause didn’t seem to be okay, however, as she was hunched and seemed tired. Before Eve could do something about it, Jack shuffled her off his lap. She hit the couch with a muffled thump. Eve looked at Arcade and wordlessly held her arms out for a hug which they both seemed to need.
[TOP SECRET]"I guess it hasn't been that long," Arcade said to Jack. He hadn't really thought about how quickly they'd latched onto each other. They both needed someone to lean on and had similar issues. Besides, she was a much better choice than Despair.
Eve barely had time to raise her arms before Arcade enveloped her in a hug of his own. Taking Jack's place on the couch, he started to let loose some of the emotions he'd been building ever since he broke free from Despair.
A slight tremble was the only evidence that he was upset. He was weak enough to let his own self-loathing distract him from what really mattered.
I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life."

Just as freedom presented itself in a deep borehole, cutting through the firmament of the entire city, she felt something constrict around her neck and hold her in place...for all of a second. She took a moment to look behind her, and saw not only the Chinese woman getting stabbed, but Lewis being harangued by...Ciri, was it? Yes, that should be her name, because she didn't care, let's go—
When she turned around to dive into her hole, Seiga was stopped by a much firmer force. The hermit turned her head in the sand, and saw the hollow grimace of her...former servant, staring her down, pin in hand, and singing.
"...H-Hello, Lewis," Seiga said. Even if it was the same serene tone she always used, this time it was obvious how scared she was. "Would you p-please let me go?"
Yoshika kept trying to tear at the bubble for a moment as she inexplicably appeared in it, and only when it became obvious that she wasn't dying and no new smells were coming out that something was wrong. She slowly stopped killing the bubble, looked around...
...and immediately flopped on her stomach, lying in the bottom curve and looking rather tired. Even if she couldn't truly be tired in this state, the last minute and a half of almost getting killed and almost killing people just made her wish that she was adopted already so this mess could be behind her.
