Library - ont[O] the hospital
"I'm aware of what they are," 9S replied in a deadpan tone. "Volcanoes, huh...? Most I know are either dormant or extinct. Although... is this one fake like the snow in the tundra?"
Once the reverberations died down, however, he didn't nag her for an answer, and instead breathed out a sigh of relief. "Well, now that's over, I'll be going now. Thanks again, Miss Tairee." 9S then walked out of the library, heading for the hospital amidst the thick leaves.
He saw a rather large lifeform off into the distance, but 9S couldn't make out what it was. He ignored it and wandered for a good three or five minutes before finally coming across a ginormous tree with a huge red cross on it. Shrugging, he went inside, not having spotted any buildings during his short travel time.
What he was witnessing was utter chaos.
The room he was in was rather congested with people, and the only two people he was familiar with was Chise, who was with a blonde-haired girl, and Rex, who was... doing something. There also was the tall blonde man who handed him the pamphlet, and the other blonde man who 9S handed the staunching gel to.
"What the hell is going on," he said in deadpan amazement.

Rero.Eve|Hospitree|Dying Painfully Can Be Traumatic. Who Knew?
Eve nodded to Arcade, allowing herself to be led by the doctor into another room. She moved...loosely, as if she couldn't quite control her movements, and she seemed oddly small, as if she had withdrawn into herself. "I just don’t understand."
[TOP SECRET]Ciri - Hospital
"Yoshika, don't concern yourself with their squabbles, you have more seri out problems to deal with yourself " Ciri said to Yoshika, seemingly not even having a split second to shout at Rex before the girl got into more trouble.Keeping her eye on the gremlins, she got ready to slash the device away from the other one if he decided to raise it towards yoshika.

Cole fought back and kicked Rex's hand. He was only wasting his time but as Elias had pointed out, that was exactly what he was trying to do. Cole was choking on his own blood and it was. This was so bad the usually stoic Eve was freaking out about it and Elias wasn't too confident in their ability to save him from dying.
"You don't know me" Rex answered back at the mage, like if he could keep any semblance of control over this situation.
But of course not. Cole was seconds away from dying and now the plan had changed from knocking him out to make him breath all the while he was apparently getting off to this whole situation.
"No..." Rex said, as he was left with only dirty clothes on his hands. He was so mad, he didn't even notice that his clothes not vanishing along with him was strange.
In a fit of rage, he punched the wall. Sure this was a hospital and all but it's not like he was thinking logically about... anything.
Eve's walkie-talkie was singing a different tune. Ben had taken down the boss and it apparently was indeed a dinosaur. That was good news but Rex couldn't help but feel frustrated that he couldn't blow off some steam by fighting.
Not far from there, Fastanook and another creature like him were still discussing their relationship. Things had gone south and now they were about to fight. Luckily, Yoshika, Elias, and Ciri intervened but Rex still felt he needed to give his two cents on the situation.
"Talk it over like adults" he then pointed at Fastanook "And you stop trying to shoot people. It hurts!" and kept walking to leave the building.
Hospitree
They were outsmarted. Lucas felt his hands clench on their own as Cole vanished before his eyes. It was just so wrong, the way he seemed so delighted at the prospect of his own impending demise. Lucas welcomed the distraction of the news that the T-Rex had been defeated, anything to keep his mind off this.
He walked over to where Yoshika was trying to deal with the issue Rex had told her to get involved in. She seemed to at least be doing something somewhat reasonable. Lucas knew she wanted to fight the boss and eat it, the first part apparently being an impossibility now. He said to her "I just heard the big dinosaur was defeated already, but you could probably still eat it if we find the body. Why don't we try doing that instead of dealing with these two?"
Why is a yam attacking me?Arcade helped Eve into a seat, trying to figure out what she was dealing with. He could guess that it had to do with Cole's suicide, so he tried to answer the best he could. He ignored the announcement coming from the walkie-talkie. He had more important issues to deal with.
Arcade kneeled down in front of her, trying to keep her focused. "I'm not sure if Cole's really in control of his actions right now," he murmured, hesitantly, "no one who's sane would willingly choose a death like that. And you saw how he's acting... Something's seriously wrong."
I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life."Once Eve was seated, I made my way over to a seat myself. I looked at how shaken Eve was by the whole situation, similar to how she was back when we got to the library although at least in this case she wasn't hurting herself, but that might be because she was too shocked to even do something like that. Arcade began offering his own input, talking about how Cole wasn't in control of himself. I had to wonder just how different this Cole person was normally, everyone seemed to know him differently, although from the way Rex was so dismissive over the whole situation, it looked like this kind of thing wasn't infrequent either...
"He was bound and gagged, pretty much being held captive. Knowing the rules of this city in regards to death, killing yourself to escape ends up being a viable option, maybe even logical depending on the circumstances..." I said, not looking directly at either of them and instead keeping my head low, "but laughing while doing it... that's a different story."
How could anyone with as gentle and affectionate a touch as Seiga's be evil?
"S...she did?"
I wouldn't say it was relieving to know that my problems weren't completely alien and could be fixed, but it was at least better than nothing. Unless Seiga was misreading the situation considering that was something she was apparently capable of, but I wanted to believe that wasn't the case.
I still felt like a stranger to myself. The world still felt unreal, a fabrication, almost a cage. And I still wanted to know why, what was broken in me to make it seem that way when I could see plainly that nothing was actually wrong.
If it would ease my mind...
"...How?"
i guess you can watch me shitpost i guessSeiga gently grabbed him by the head, making sure that he couldn't look away, and gently whispered to him "Stop thinking."
Just like that, Lewis had a lot more trouble coming up with any thoughts. Everything seemed to come to a swift and sudden stop within his head. There wasn't anything particularly strange about this feeling, because there was a complete lack of it. Everything in front of his eyes simply was, there was nothing notable about anything, and he couldn't recall any reason why it shouldn't be.
"...Now, then. You have misremembered the last 10 or so minutes, so let me correct them for you. We simply walked here looking for a shelter for the night. We did not fly. The nice man running this place wants us to do something for him, and we have been quietly waiting here for him to return. We did not discuss anything. I did not degrade myself for you. You did not think about anything up until now. You have been happy the entire time."
She backed away from him, and smiled brightly. "You can think now, if you'd like. Are you feeling alright, Lewis?"
Eve|Hospitree|Wrong Issue, Arcade
Eve blinked. "It's not...it's not that." She paused, listening to Chise. She understood that, true. She can't say she wouldn't do the same in a dire enough situation. "It just...brought back some bad memories." Her hand clutched at her dress over her right lung. "Ones I'd rather not think about." The blood, filling her lungs and she couldn't breathe why couldn't she breathe just one more breath please let me breathe please just one more breath She shook her head to clear away the memories.
[TOP SECRET]Arcade's shoulders became stiff at Chise's words. "Suicide is not the answer," he responded tensely. He then softly mumbled, "it's not." He stared at the wall, his stare blank.
After a few seconds he shook his head, focusing back on Eve. He scooted closer and put an arm around her shoulders. "You don't have to tell me what it is," he said, "but I promise, I won't let that happen to you ever again. As long as I'm here, I'll keep you safe. No matter what."
I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life."Arcade responded in a very blunt way, but judging from what he mumbled afterwards, it sounded more like he was trying to convince himself that he was right. I wondered if any of these thoughts had came into his mind before and that was his way of fighting them off. Well, I shouldn't provoke him and truthfully, I really wanted to believe he was right, but a part of me still couldn't really trust it.
Eve seemed to be doing better now, from what I could see the initial shock had worn off and she managed to shove away the memories brought back by it, somewhat. Arcade's way of helping was to promise he would never allow something like that to happen to her, whatever it was that left her so traumatized. It was enough to make me smile a little, how he cared for her. At the same time, I began feeling more and more like I shouldn't be there and that I should leave them to have their moment. At the same time, it would be rude to just get up and leave, so I wasn't really sure what to do now.
"You should take some time to relax, Eve. You've been going through a lot of stress today." I suggested.

Though the hospital group might feel some relief at the removal of Despair. However, he had of course, only moved himself from one location to another with his death...and he found himself within a cave, sitting up slowly from where he had been. It seemed that he were not clothed in the ragged rags that Cole chose for himself...but now he seemed dressed in some sort of tattered black cloak, patchy with bits of remaining fur still clinging. There was a hood covering his head, with sharp bits of what felt like were the remnants of teeth.
Somehow, this felt...right.
And he was not alone in this darkened area.
Despair rose to his feet, eyes flashing light for just a moment in the darkened area, and he began to move closer to the presence he could sense nearby.
"You are the leader of the flock," he said softly. "The one that worships the being that brought us all here. Who summoned us, who has made me this. And now you and I are here."
Dave looked over as Cole vanished, and gave a slightly disappointed sigh. "Well, now that he's gone, can we..." Dave trailed off as Arcade left to another room, leaving Dave there with his back still injured. Dave said nothing after that, just staring that direction with a very dull expression.
When Cole vanished, Veela's stance had relaxed slightly, and she looked almost surprised to currently be holding her thwack hammer. She let out a yelp when Yoshika picked her up. "H-h-hey! Let me go!" Veela said, sounding a bit frightened as she flailed her legs.
Fastanook cast a quick, slightly frustrated look at Rex. "It's a stun gun! I shot her because she nearly killed two people!" Fastanook reminded Rex as he motioned at the unconscious Silanea, sounding absolutely flabbergasted that Rex was still taking issue with his course of action. "And I'm not trying to continue the argument inside or outside! I'm trying to just get this whole situation calmed down!" the gremlin continued.
He paused then as he heard Ben's voice on his walkie talkie. He grabbed it and prepared to respond. "The situation at the hospital escalated for a bit there, but I think it's calming down now. I don't know who Thomas is" Fastanook replied to Ben.
"Is Rex still unconscious there?" Wells' voice then asked.
"Uh, no sir he's actually leaving right now" Fastanook responded.
"Rex if you can hear me, I need to talk to you" Wells' voice added simply.
Once Louie was on the ground, he ran over towards his pokemon, who likewise quickly moved over towards him in return. "Are you guys all okay? I was really worried" Louie said, hugging and checking on his pokemon as they made some chirps and honks in response.
Elsewhere, Wells was speaking on his walkie talkie while rounding up his militia members, then started to move out, back towards the jungle.
Cole and the other man weren't alone either; two other literates were there, around the small camp fire they'd managed to make, looking out the cave entrance towards the sky as the night stars were starting to come out. All three were dressed in various fur garments, and the two other literates seemed startled and scrambled to their feet when Cole spoke up. Pastor Daniel remained sitting next to the fire though, and calmly turned his gaze over at Cole.
"Yes, we are both here. We were preparing to share stories, as seems to be long running tradition to do around campfires at night, in many universes" Pastor Daniel said in a fairly neutral, friendly voice. "Would you like to join us? Or did you arrive for another reason?" he asked, motioning to the fire.

You are reading this.Yoshika immediately and gently put down the squirrel thing and forgot why she was there, as she turned around to Lucas. "HOW ABOUT WE DO THAT, OKAY?! That seems really important, because otherwise it might be not dead still! Let's go for it right now!"
Digger - (Dead) T-Rex Fight
"That's not what I meant," I said as Blue flew away and did something that loosely fit my definition of "cool". With nothing better to do, I sat there and choked down the potion as they took care of the dinosaur. I felt kind of bad for it, but given the circumstances, it was for the better that it was dead and not some poor, innocent soul.
I slowly got up, making sure nothing was broken, and walked over to Blue, head down and shoulders slumped. "Hey, can we go back to the hotel?" I said. "I don't feel so good."
(holds pool noodle threateningly) Do you want to know what we do to artists?Despair tilted his head to one side, taking in the small group, a rather toothy grin coming to his face. "Stories. It all comes down to stories, here, doesn't it? It is what the creature above us longs for, tales spun up from the actions of those he placed within his world. I know the type. In my world, one of the ones that cared for the being I used to be was a writer. He taught me much about what there was to making a good story."
There was a low, amused chuckle, speaking suddenly in a low, gruff voice, one that might have sounded charming, were it not for the vision of the person the voice came from. "A good story. Well, that's about hurting good characters and seeing how they react." He grinned faintly.
"I want to make it a good story."
Well the whole situation with these two small furry creatures wasn't really go anywhere at this rate, at least the female seemed to not be enraged anymore. Although that girl just dropping her on the floor like that wouldn't help her mood much. Even Rex made a comment regarding the ridiculous nature of this confrontation, while also trying to leave. Judging from his earlier reaction to what happened to that mind reader, it was clear that the way it ended left him in a sour mood.
"Rex, where are you going?" I asked him as he walked away, "Are you going to look for that mind reader?"
Ben smiled at Louie a little, nodding as he went to check up on his Pokemon. He then raised his walkie talkie up to his face again to reply to Lt. Wells.
"Thomas is a tall kid with glasses and a hood, he collapsed in the hospital and you guys took him upstairs," Ben explained to them. "Check on him, please? Also, is Phoenix Wright here? I think you said he had something to tell me," Ben added.
I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.Eve|Hospitree|Aww. Protect The Person More Badass Than Thou
Eve leant into the touch, an unconscious reflex. She muffled a small laugh, touched by Arcade’s declaration, but also aware that he was far more fragile than her by far. It was easier, she mused, to push away the memories when she wasn't alone, when there was someone there. Arcade and Chise both. "I'll tell you. Both of you, if you want to hear it. But not now. Maybe not even today. When I tell people, it becomes...easier. To deal with it, to talk about it."
Then Chise suggested she relax. Eve looked at the redhead. "Maybe." A pause, and she looked down at her hands. "I meant to apologise. About what happened in the library. I'm usually not like that."
[TOP SECRET]Rex kept walking, ignoring Yoshika lifting Veela and scaring her and Fastanook's reasoning of why it was okay to be trigger happy with a stun gun. Something did make him stop, though. Elias wanted to know if he was going to look for Cole.
"...Kinda. I was thinking of paying someone else a visit while I'm at it"
At that moment, Fastanook was talking with walkie-talkie to Wells. The lieutenant wanted to know about Rex's whereabouts and after hearing he was right there, spoke up to say he really needed to talk right now. Rex didn't remember a lot of the day thanks to a few punches and phaser shots so he wasn't thinking this could be good news.
"The dinosaur is dead. What do you want now?"
She didn't spare much description before deciding to just—
.................................................................................................................................................................
I had misremembered the past 10 or so minutes. Seiga and I walked here looking for a shelter for the night. We did not fly. The nice man running this place wants us to do something for him, and we have been quietly waiting here for him to return. We did not discuss anything. Seiga did not degrade herself for me. I did not think about anything up until now.
I have been...happy the entire time.
My hand froze up.
...
"You can think now, if you'd like."
...That was twice now, wasn't it? That I'd been like that, absent every mental faculty except pure, unfiltered sensation? Earlier today first, the first thing I truly remembered, and then now. I supposed the technical term for it would be a trance. That it had happened now with seemingly no cause was odd, but nothing else seemed out of place apart from being a bit foggy, and some inexplicable tear tracks.
Or maybe I just couldn't figure out why it happened when I was so giddy.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" I chimed. "Everything's wonderful. It's just so pretty out, y'know, it was such a nice walk and...hmm, the decor in here could use some work, but I don't mind too much."
I began giggling to myself.
i guess you can watch me shitpost i guessCiri - Hospitree
Ciri gave Fastanook an apologetic shrug as she took a step back to get closer to Lucas and Yoshika, ready to follow the two out. If this T-Rex was as big as people seemed to make it out to be, then hopefully it had enough usable meat to keep Yoshika happy and entertained for an hour or two. She had seen more than her fair share of grisly deaths and corpses, but Yoshika and her limited memory might treat things differently, so it would be good to have something to distract her as they waited for the seventeenth day."Okay," she stated to Yoshika, giving her a small nod of agreement.
Eager to get him to talk instead of laugh, she said in a sing-songy voice "Soooo, Lewis~ We've got a good thing going on, you and I..."
Shoot, she didn't have any idea of what to say. Seiga paused, still smiling wide at him, trying to come up with conversation topics. She could've just asked him to stay quiet, but she wanted at least one conversation to go right! She tried to dig into her head for the most banal thing she could think of...
"...That reminds me, Lewis! When you meet our friend, Yoshika, there's something she's quite interested in. What do you think of robots? Of the giant and Japanese variety?"

Elias was right, before anyone could do anything else, Cole's body expired and all that was left were his clothes. Now he was free to roam around outside and I couldn't help but get a feeling of dread from that thought, replacing the melancholy from before that I felt completely vanish. Although I managed to distract myself from the thought because of Eve's situation.
Arcade came over, as it was to be expected, to help comfort Eve. She was talking about something had hurt so much, her hand going over to where her left lung would be. That indicated that what had happened with Cole also happened with her at some point, most likely during her stay in the city unless she somehow managed to survive a situation like that in her own home...
A voice came out of the walkie-talkie that I could recognize as Ben's, apparently they had already defeated the monster outside. That went a lot faster than I was expecting it to and it was certainly nice to hear some good news out of this whole mess.
Only letting out a somewhat relieved sigh, I helped Arcade lead Eve to another room.
Things went about as expected. Cole died and the blonde little girl got more bothered by it than one would expect her to just judging from the behavior she had displayed to me so far. Chise went to help, as it was natural for her to do, so I didn't need to concern myself with it too much. Instead my attention went to the other incoming fight between two similar, small creatures who apparently had a relationship that went sour.
"This is a hospital, if you're going to keep this argument going, do it outside," I told them as I approached, although I made sure to keep a significant distance in case of them actually fighting, although it was looking less likely as more people were beginning to intervene.
