Eve|Hospitree|Cute Bonding Moment, GO!
Eve continued smiling. "Where would they relocate you too?" The Followers. The group of doctors Arcade was with before ... whatever made him a fugitive again happened. Arcade was reminiscing now, about someone who did something. Sounded like drugs?
It was probably drugs.
"I don't want to know, do I?"
[TOP SECRET]Digger - Grocery Grove
"Nah, I can handle it," I told Simon. Even though it would help. I don't see why I couldn't just hand my stuff over to a kid in a giant robot.
After an arbitrarily long amount of time spent thinking about it, I decided that yes, I could use some help with these bags. I took my pack off and handed it to Simon, who...was over there petting a tiny dinosaur with Crash. I didn't have any words for the situation other than "how", "why", and maybe even "blood of the architect, that thing's gonna bite their hand off!"
I quickly rushed over, dropping my pack unceremoniously, and tried to pry Crash away from the dinosaur, which failed, almost humorously. "Hey, Crash, I've seen some weird things," I said in between grunts, "but I know for a fact that petting a dino with sharp teeth is a one-way ticket to the hospital."

(holds pool noodle threateningly) Do you want to know what we do to artists?Arcade chuckled and deadpanned, "oh, is the Militia not a force of combat medics? Glad I didn't try to join them first, I would've been quite embarrassed."
His smile became slightly crooked when Eve correctly guessed that Arcade's story would not be good to share. He said, "I think it's one of those 'you had to be there' stories. It was mostly just funny how quickly everything devolved into chaos. I'm still not sure how my pants go-" Arcade cleared his throat and mumbled, "anyway, I should probably get to work."

"The visor issued to all YoRHa units displays various feeds from the android body, such as status, satellite data, item logs, sound wave visualizers, and other intel as well," the Pod said. "It is also used to transmit visual and aural data to Type-O units."
"What it said," 9S replied.
When he heard Miss Tairee's remark, he thought to himself for a bit. This was a question he hadn't expected. Perhaps it was due to budget constraints. Perhaps it would be too taxing on an average android's systems. Or perhaps YoRHa R&D was simply too lazy to come up with that. "That... is actually a good question. Maybe I'll ask the Commander when I go back to the Bunker."

Rero.Eve|Hospitree|Noodle Incidents Are Fun
Eve laughed, clear and sweet. Raising an eyebrow at the mention of Arcade’s pants doing something, a quiet "aww" could be heard. She was enjoying this. She didn't want him to leave. "That reminds me of when someone, I'm not actually sure who, spiked Train's drink with catnip."
[TOP SECRET]After what felt like the longest minute of Rex's life, Silanea finally stopped hugging him. She still was sure that Rex for all his flaws, owed her to bring back her people and was clearly still shocked since she hadn't quite finished crying. Rex took a second to react after what had just happened since he expected a misunderstanding, Silanea attacking him, or her not buying that the deal was legitimate. It was surprising for Rex to see Silanea break down like that, explaining that he was doing much more than she thought was appropriate and, honestly, kind of feeding his ego. It felt... nice.
"H-hey, the city is in danger because I asked for us to be able call our home. I'm just making sure you at least have someone to talk to"
Now that the awkward moment was over, it was time to actually get ready for whatever was in store for them.
"Just get your guys ready. I'll handle the rest. Oh, and take this" he said, while giving Silanea the little door and frame "The note said we shouldn't lose it, so keep it somewhere safe"
Rex used his communicator to call Sans and, unsurprisingly, the skeleton was too busy with other stuff to answer. Probably sleeping. A voice message would have to do, then.
"Uh, Sans are you there buddy? I accepted a challenge to help Silanea but I need all the help I can get and..." he trailed off. He kind of needed to explain just how important this was but with Silanea right there things were kind of awkward, so Rex decided to whisper into the communicator so only Sans could hear him "Let me put it this way, Silanea just hugged me! So, you know, kind of a big deal"
With his best option unavailable right now, Rex decided to contact the militia channel. Wells needed to know that the city could potentially get in danger again and Rex needed to convince him to lend him some of his manpower.
"Uh, hello, is Wells listening to this?"

"Cat... nip?" Arcade asked, raising an eyebrow, "cats are extinct in the Wasteland, I don't know much about them. Is catnip some kind of... Cat food? That affects humans? Or is Train not a human?" Arcade's scientific curiosity had been piqued.
I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life."Crash-Grocery Grove
Crash blinked in confusion as Digger tried to break up his hug with with Baby T. She mentioned something along the lines of hugging dinos being dangerous. Crash could see how that would be true of any other dino, but this was Baby T! He was a sweetheart! "Baby T's a friend!" Crash said to Digger. To prove this, Crash heralded Baby T over to where Simon was.
Baby T tilted his head as Lagann's metallic hand approached him. Baby T had never seen a robot before, and wouldn't even understand the concept of a robot. Taking a moment to sniff the mysterious metal man, Baby T eventually decided the smell wasn't a bad or threatening smell, and recognized the gesture for what it was. Baby T gave another small yip, before moving his head under Simon's hand, happily wiggling it's body as it waited for pets.
"Hmmm?," Crash said with a grin on his face (no surprise there), gesturing full body to Simon and Baby T's interaction. Baby T was a good little dino!

Eve|Hospitree|Train's Status As A Human Is Often Up For Debate
Huh. She had forgotten that catnip usually didn't affect humans, and that Arcade may not know what they are. A world without cats. How sad. " Catnip generally only effects cats. And Train is human, he's just...different." That was a word for it. She was still sure that that was on Rinslet, but she wouldn't put it against one of the Chronos Numbers to do something like that. She couldn't see Sephrenia doing it, But maybe Shao Lee or Janus.
Either way, he hadn't come down from the roof for hours.
[TOP SECRET]Before the doctor could say anything to me, Eve showed up and began talking to him. I was right in assuming it was her he was refering to, as he quickly spoke to her and was eventually led to another room so they could talk in private. Hopefully things worked out.
"Well, we need to find the owner of this establishment. Let's go, Chise," said Elias as he grabbed my hand.
I merely looked up at him and nodded. He then began leading me through the tree/building trying to find whoever was running the place. My mind was still back at the doctor, apparently named "Arcade", and Eve, but eventually Elias derailed my train of thought.
"Why did you take so long to come inside?" He asked me with curiosity evident in his voice.
"I was talking to Rex, but then he got busy with other people and I didn't want to interrupt. Sorry if I took too long."
"You seem to have gotten attached to him rather quickly."
I had to stop for a moment to think about it, it was true that I already felt some sort of bond with him and could even relate with some of his struggles a little, so maybe I really was starting to get attached. Thinking back on him, that fae at the entrance did say he escaped from prison, so he probably had gotten arrested for putting the city in danger... He was technically a criminal and yet I still found myself on his side, it was a strange feeling.
"I guess so," I said simply.
"I wonder if he's gotten interested in you as well," Elias added, his voice sounding impassive.
I had to wonder what type of "interest" Elias was talking about, did he think there was something going on between the two of us...? Maybe his jealously was starting to act up again, that was a little concerning, but at least I shouldn't have to worry about things getting as bad as they did before we ended up here.
"I doubt he'd be interested in someone like me," I tried to brush the whole thing off, still smiling.
Elias began stroking his chin as he began to think. "Well, he's no fae and I doubt he can use magic, so I suppose the fact you're a Slay Vega wouldn't catch his attention..."
"I don't think he has a clue of what a Slay Vega is, Elias." I couldn't help but snicker a little at the direction this conversation went.
"It's...different..." Cole said, after a moment of thought, looking down at his hands in his lap. "Spirits, we aren't...we're ideas, more than people, we aren't...we aren't real..."
He was quiet for a second, clenching his fists a little, before shaking his head. "...no, Sans...Sans and Caro told me that wasn't right. That I'm...that I am real. And...a-and they're right. I'm...I'm not just a spirit anymore. I'm...I'm more of a human now than a spirit, I've changed from what I was. ...I'm not what anyone thought I really was at first, not...not a spirit, not a psychic, I'm...I'm...me. I am...I am...weird, that is what people here have said, but...almost everyone here has treated me well, have...worried about my powers, but no more than about any of us with those powers..."
He looked back up at Miss Tairee suddenly, a rather thoughtful expression on his face. "...Miss Tairee...it...it wasn't...you who sent Sawyer away...was it?"
So, Train was a mutated human? That made sense. Arcade nodded and asked, "so what are cats like? They're mentioned in some of the books I've read, but nothing specific. They're pets- like dogs- right?"
A voice in the back of Arcade's head reminded him that Eve's world different than his, so he shouldn't try to compare hers to the Old World, but he couldn't help himself. His scientific curiosity was mixing with his eagerness to talk to his friend. She really was keeping him together.
I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life.""Ben Tennyson, march your giant mecha behind right back here this instant!"
I bolted after Ben as he turned in a...Transformer? He could scan those?...trying to catch him before the shifting let him get away. He didn't get it, did he? All he was going to do was make himself look even more suspicious because he couldn't exercise two minutes of patience. You could tell he was 10, you really could.
"Don't you understand that just repeating yourself isn't proof!?"
i guess you can watch me shitpost i guessBut that ain't all it did.
No, within her degraded mind, a great shroud had been lifted. Though she fell backward into the waiting arms of the one who caused it (and he might note that she was surprisingly heavy for a 13 year old), unconscious, on the inside she could see a door swing open. A titanic door with locks of polished wood and hinges of steel. Rain fell beyond that ancient portal, and in the distance, a furious thunderstorm played its cacophonous symphony.
Her mind was not restored, but she now knew something that she could've never imagined in her wildest dreams. Before her mental body lay an item foreign, yet so familiar that she could never forget it...
Yoshika awoke with a start, immediately touching her face, as if to confirm she was even in the room with them. Her eyes were wide, and slowly, she realized there was only one thing she could say at a time like this.
"...I know how to play the guitar."
Eve|Hospitree|A Girl And Her Puppy
Eve nodded. "Cats are pets. Often. Stray cat is also a nickname for a Sweeper, like me." She had often wanted a cat. There was no room for pets in a Sweeper's lifestyle, though. Cats didn't like moving around much. Besides, as Sven had often told her, they had Train, and, judging how he spent one afternoon batting around a ball of wool, that was enough. One of these days she'd have to try a laser pointer.
[TOP SECRET]"... So you don't want one of the better rooms? Uh, okay then" Blue said, sounding a bit perplexed by Kamina's decision. Blue glanced over then walked up to the scene with the young dinosaur. "Well, you guys ready to go? We've got enough food, so now we've just gotta get it back to the hotel" he mentioned to Digger and Crash.
"So it displays information and transmits data. Does it actually collect the information itself, or just display what other instruments are picking up for the user?" Miss Tairee wondered. "Either way, that's impressive for what appears to just be a strip of cloth. But since you're an android, I also wonder why couldn't the information from instruments just be transmitted directly to your mind? Perhaps there's some limitation to androids from your universe, and they need an indirect medium to filter information" the librarian continued, tapping a finger to her chin as she thought.
"... Or maybe it was actually made for humans, and you were purposely designed to be able to use human equipment; that could explain why you appear so human-like despite being an android..." Miss Tairee went on, then trailed off and refocused on 9S. "Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to be impolite; I just like to think about things. Now, are you sure there's nothing I can help you with?" the librarian stated to the android.
Meanwhile, the Miss Tairee sitting with Cole paused for moment when he brought up Sawyer, her hand stopping in place on his head. A second later, she turned her head slightly to look at nothing in particular on the floor, then took in and let out a deep breath through her nose. "... No, it was not me. She was selected at random to be sent home early, like some of the others. But I did..." Miss Tairee trailed off, a small frown coming to her face. "I'm sorry, Cole. My boss won't allow me to talk about that. Not yet" the librarian told him quietly.
Silanea sniffled and seemed to contemplate what Rex said. "... I guess, that is a point" Silanea thought out loud, then took the door and looked at it intently, turning it over in her hands. "So this... I just put it on my head?" she thought out loud.
And then proceeded to do just that, as if to test it.
The door stuck to her head as if glued there, and Silanea looked momentarily shocked as her arms lowered slightly. Then, her whole body went extremely still as her eyes rolled back and her eyelids lowered, making only blank whites visible in her eyes. The door then opened itself, but rather than just a view through to her head, through the little doorway all that was visible was a white light.
"What the heck just happened?" Fastanook asked, looking like he was briefly considering putting his phaser to use, though nothing else seemed to be happening just yet.
"Of course I'm listening, Rex. What is it now?" Wells' voice said over the militia channel in response to Rex, sounding a little frustrated.
Dave brought one large hand down to help Plague Knight catch and steady Yoshika back to her feet with his troll strength. He looked at her and waited as she seemed to have some internal struggle, then made the announcement that she knew how to play the guitar.
"... Congratulations, she's a musician" Dave said to Plague Knight, half jokingly. Then he returned his attention to Yoshika. "So, is that it? Do you feel any different?" the doctor asked her.

Oh, a different Rex. A dog. She had never met many dogs. Torneo had guard dogs but they...weren't friendly. "Not quite. The Sweeper lifestyle calls a very particular type of person. Bound by nothing except the code, Sweepers drift. Most Sweepers go through life alone in the world, surrounded only by criminals and their own kind. Most Sweepers are fighters, but it's more than that. It's that we are strays, in a way."
Train, with no family, and nothing left of a life he once lived as an assassin except a gun that is no longer what it once was. Sven, his partner dead, carrying his last gift, with no family in the beginning. Saya, who ran from a family, and who ended up dying for a few kids. Kevin, River, Silphy. Sweepers lived a different life from the rest of the world. They always had.
[TOP SECRET]Cole just watched Miss Tairee as she seemed to have some difficulty with the answer, but she did say that it hadn't been her decision to send Sawyer away. There was something more to it than that, that much was obvious, but...well. Cole hadn't asked anything more.
He sat up a bit, then leaned closer to hug the librarian as best he could. "I thought you did it to punish me..." he admitted, a little sheepish. "Because of what happened with M-Mary...and there was yelling and..." He was quiet for a moment. "People have gotten angry and punished people close to me before, because of...what I've done. And I'm so used to...doing things wrong, but I could always just get rid of it and try again, before I became more human..."
"And then, when the demon was...in the library..." Cole was silent, before apparently deciding that didn't need to be elaborated on. "That's why you frightened me so much before. I...I thought that you hated me, that you wanted to hurt me. People with power usually...use it against people without it. ...or, at least...that's the way they use it back home. I...I'm sorry for thinking that about you. I...I am still learning that things here are not like things in Thedas."
Eve was rather poetic in her description of Sweepers, Arcade noticed. Once again trying to make connections he said, "that sounds a little like... There's not really a name for them, just a few people who were the only ones to act when something needed swift action.
There were two other than the Courier, the Vault Dweller and the Chosen One. Their names were forgotten, but they wandered the Wastes- often alone- and took down an army of super mutants and the... Enclave, respectively." He had to choke back the slight guilt that bubbled up whenever he thought of what was happening in Navarro.
I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life.""...Smarterer, yeah. Smarterer," Yoshika concluded.
She raised her hand to her face and slowly moved her fingers, looking at the grey and blistered skin. "I just...I felt like I could play a guitar if I wanted to. I don't know how to say it, I guess? It's the weirdest thing I've ever felt."
Her fingers suddenly twisted and thrashed, recalling muscle memories that she never had for a brief moment, before returning to rest. She had zero idea what to make of it, because up until now she wasn't even really sure what a guitar was.
Yoshika sighed, and reached down to pat Plague Knight on the head. "I'm sorry, it didn't do anything. I think. It's probably useless, but don't worry! Now you know you can't make that kind of thing," she said to console him.
Eve|Hospitree|Everything Is Not Arcade's Fault
Eve patted Arcade somewhat awkwardly on the back when he mentioned the Enclave. Talking about that probably hurt him. She nodded. "Sweepers are bound by a tight code. But we do what's needed. We're not the only peacekeeping force. There's the International Bureau of Investigation, each country's police..." a long pause. "...and Chronos, of course. I'm sorry that where you come from requires three individuals to stand up."
[TOP SECRET]"They're not the only ones who solved problems in the Wastes," Arcade elaborated, "they're just the ones who get remembered for their contributions. The Followers were pivotal in fighting the Master- ah, the super mutant- army. Those three were just the ones who made the final, dramatic decisions that are most easily passed on by word of mouth."
I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life.""Wait!" shouted Morty as he bolted after Lewis, and Ben. "You - you're gonna die out there! There are giant angry dinosaurs and - and I think you're supposed to stay at - at the scene of the crime and - you're going to get eaten and die horribly!" he shouted after them.
It took a moment for him to look around and realize that his legs had acted before his mind. Where the path to the church-tree had been just a moment ago, there was nothing but a stand of tall tropical flowers.... and a flock of tiny, malformed little dinosaur things
scampering around in their branches.
"Oh. Fuck."

"The Followers aren't exactly paid either," Arcade said, "doesn't mean the more rambunctious members aren't relocated to get them out of the way." His smile was genuine. Thinking about his old friends back in Freeside was less painful, at least they were still alive. In fact, last he saw they were thriving; he was happy that they were able to make the Wasteland a little better.
Arcade then smirked, briefly caught up in a memory. "Though, I guess this wasn't as bad as the Follower who snorted a ground up cazador venom sac," he reminisced, "now that was an interesting weekend."
