Cole looked around as he and Arcade headed for the door, apparently making some effort to look around for himself. "Y-yes, it's...I would like to know what is...happening, but..."
He caught sight of someone, before abruptly stopping in his tracks, staring as a rather familiar looking troll wandered by. He was dressed oddly, though that seemed to be the point of the day thus far, but still...Cole was getting the hang of all this bewilderment.
"Oh, that...I know him! Um...Dave?" Cole actually pulled Arcade along, starting after the troll. "Hello, I...hello, Dave!"
Lewis - Library - Welp suggestion box it is
"So there's no rule about him using his message to screw over a world." I flicked one hand in annoyance. "Of course there isn't. Why did I ask."
No one was happy about this. Except Ghostfuck, who promptly floated off, because of course he'd take a sadistic glee in knowing he'd be able to get away with this without fear of repercussion from an angry omniscient librarian.
Fine. I'd do this the hard way. Plan B it was.
"Even if his Earth isn't automatically doomed, Miss, it's still going to be in very real danger. But fine. I'm done conversing with him. I have other ideas," I said, turning to the suggestion box where my hand was already hovering in wait. I began to write, and was about to submit it when I remembered something. I quickly addressed it and then left the paper in the box.
You probably already know this, what with the omniscience, but the poser ghost alien wants to use the free messages we've been allotted to enact a plan that will destroy everything Ben cares about. What can be done about this, and about him?
I know Ben gave you a verbal middle finger yesterday, but he's young and had a hard day and doesn't deserve to be dicked over on that scale and the people of his home world don't either. I'm guessing you don't care from the lack of bolts of divine retribution but if you do please let him off the hook.
"I'm sure we'll run into someone else who knows what's going on," Arcade assured Cole. He wondered what the relationship between Cole and Sans was. He could only remember Sans mentioning his sister when they had been together. He was going to ask, but Cole seemed to notice a familiar face.
"The hell?" He exclaimed as Cole suddenly dragged him back deeper into the library. The sudden shift in emotions reminded him of some of the junkies he had to tend to in Freeside. This, however, seemed to be a completely sober mind jumping from one train of thought to another. He looked at Dave in bewilderment; if the troll knew Cole, he had to know some way to deal with him, right?
"Pretty!" Was the harpy girl's happy reply, spreading her wings to show off the colourful patterns covering every feather. She made a bird-like chirping noise, grinning and waiting for Ara's reaction. Jack chuckled and ruffled the girl's head.
The spirit turned back to Ara a moment later, just in time to watch everything go crashing back down to the ground. He bit his lip, trying to stop himself from laughing at her frozen expression. He schooled his face as well as he could when she looked his way, but he couldn't keep the amusement out of his voice. "Sure, sure. Here, watch this."
Starting with the stuffed animals, Jack unzipped his bag, placed it on the ground and easily slid them inside. Then, grinning at the woman, he took her staff and began pushing it into the bag. Soon, the entire thing was gone. Zipping it back up, he chuckled. "Pretty awesome, huh?"
"Is that your girlfriend?" The winter spirit nearly choked at the sudden question, jerking his head around to find that the two sisters had returned with their snacks. The younger one, who had asked the question, was looking between Jack and Ara curiously, while her older sister looked almost as embarrassed as he felt. His mouth flapped uselessly for a second, before he managed to sputter out. "No!"
Eve|Library|Fuck You Ghostdick
Well, there went that plan. Dammit. Apparently there was nothing the Librarian could do. Well, time to do a different plan. Ben seemed like he would be talking to his grandfather, so she could do what she had planned to do when she got here. Eve moved to the suggestion box, grabbing some paper and a pen. She hid what she was writing from Lewis and everybody else around.
You, as you appear to be omnipotent and omniscient, are most likely aware of the current situation involving Ghostfreak, as he is known. Since you have been proven to actually make deals, what would be the price, for me, for you to get rid of Ghostfreak permanently? For you to place him somewhere where he will never be able to hurt anyone? Ever? I would request that whatever the deal is, it does not directly effect the other denizens of the City.
That done, she waited for a response.

"My father had something similar happen to him, wound up in the Fablesphere. Of course, he didn't simply have to deal with his wardrobe, he met the tales themselves. I've never heard of Santa Kurazu, but perhaps you've heard of some others? You may at least be from a world near my own. The Musicians of Blaviken? The Big Bad Wolf? Little Red Riding Hood? The Wicked Witch? Puss?"
"W-w-wait - what- goddammit." Rick sighed and ran a hand down his face as Sora sprinted off. "Y-you can't just *urp* you can't just run off all Leeroy Jenkins in this situation! You - you can't... ugh, whatever. Okay, look, long story short, ghost man is gonna genocide a world and if I save it then I'll get a different dumb kid off my back. " Rick turned back to the remaining members of the group. "Okay, well, he's shit outta luck... can you, kid, Calvin I dunno, transmogrify yourself into something big scary and distract the library? L-like a dinosaur or, or Godzilla or some kind of.... Telquazian barfinoid?"
"Oh boy." Morty watched Ghostfreak ascend through the floors and onto the top. "Oh jeez, Rick, w-whatever we're gonna d, we'd better hurry, 'cause... 'cause... w-we're runnin' outta time and we're in a real pickle here!"

And then the spiky-haired kidnote Sora ran off to confront the spook. Why does he keep doin' that?! In any case, Jenny, I followed him up the stairs and tried to stop him before he does somethin' real stupid.

Of course it couldn't be that easy ... This discussion nearly mirror those of a similar nature with Cole. And he had already been aware of his unique situation for quite sometime and was still deeply wresting with it ... This would almost certainly take a lot of time for her to properly deal with all this, much more than they still had in the city. She herself had taken years on end, even with a lot of help, to mostly resolve her own traumatic issues.
She desperately wanted to be able to tell the poor girl that it would all turn out right in the end ... But she couldn't be at all certain of it at present ... Who knew how things would once Fate and Arf got back? This time around, she might not be able to become friends with Nanoha or meet and become family with Uncle Chrono and Grandma Lindy, people who would almos certainly have helped along the healing process ...
Arf and Sans once again tried to get through to Fate, with the latter then leaving to do something else. In anycase, it had at least managed to spur her on to continue.
Carefully approaching closer, she then likewise took the other available seat on the couch, close but not touching, next to where Fate was. She then ever so gently tried to wrap an arm around the poor girl's shoulders. If she then, rather understandably, flinched away, she would remove it slightly but still make herself available.
Regardless, she would then speak rather warmly, "They are right ... None of this has to define ... You can truly be your own person from here onwards ... You get to decide where you want to go from here and who you want to become ... But you don't have to suffer through all this by yourself either ... You're not alone in this ... From what I have seen of the two of you, I'm sure that Atf will always be there for you ... " she then glanced towards the golden object that Fate was holding onto as if for dear life and given today's cicunstances, she had a reasonable certain of who it really was, so she added, "Your Device, your partner will be always there for you as well ... And for whatever it is worth ... As long as we are still here ... I and Sans will do whatever we can to help you too ... "
Ara Haan (Street) - Excellent Question
"You do look very pretty."
I was not lying either. Her feathers had a very colorful pattern which was truly captivating, and it was hard not to smile after seeing such a happy look on her face. She was just so carefree and enthusiastic... not unlike Jack. However, he almost laughed at me, so he didn't get a smile like the little harpy girl did. However, I did open my eyes wide in amazement when I saw two stuffed animals and my staff just disappear into his bag as if they'd been swallowed. But before I could ask him... that question came.
I tried not to feel embarrassed, but I could feel my face slowly turning red, and my mouth slowly gap while I tried to prepare a proper answer in my mind. Of course I wasn't Jack's girlfriend, but the question had nonetheless caught me completely off guard with how sudden it'd been. I stammered a little, but eventually I managed to put together a... proper response.
"N-n-n-no, no, of course not!" I blurted out, trying my best to stay calm. "We're friends, but... actually I... well, it.... we're just friends!"
Staying calm was not something I was very good at in that kind of situation. And to make matters worse, Eun just wouldn't stop snickering in my head. But... even though I felt pretty bad, it surely could've been worse.
Library's roof — I'm not saying it was Reapers... but it was Reapers
The librarian handed Rex a book out of nowhere that presumably had information about Legion's and Yael's universe.
"Mass Effect? What's that supposed to mean?"
He inspected the book. There were lots of names of things he didn't know about. Maybe he should have started from the beginning instead of opening it at a random page and reading about whatever the "Battle of the Citadel" was.
Miss Tairee for her part, again tried to convince Rex to call home because he wouldn't be able to do it for the next five days.
"Fine. Call Bobo Haha. He's at Providence headquarters. I would tell you the address but you probably already know where it is"
Curly tilted he head as she briefly recounted just what she knew of the holidays before responding "Just that they're typically annual celebrations of some sort, really". When Melanie came in, she started to say something, but quickly thought better of it in favor of letting Chuck deal with that particular bombshell and letting the lamia in question finish waking up.
"Well, thanks for letting us stay for the night." Curly said with the subject of Silanea's outfit theme more or less settled "Guess we should probably start looking into breakfast, or something soon. Right?"
Tairee gave Sans a tablet as well as the message he got from the Writer. Well, that was something to deal with later, for now he had a brother to talk and a little girl to fix.
He then moved back to the couch where Caro was now sitting next to Fate. Carrying the tablet, the note and the pumpkin head at the same time was a little annoying but he could manage.
"hey caro, i got the thing. the thing to talk to my bro, so why don't we get that out of the way?" He asked, then looking over to Fate, "i think you might like to meet him too, i'm sure he'll be able to help you too. so open up some space for me in there."
This was a total shot in the dark but if there was something he knew about Papyrus is that he never disappointed, so all Sans could do was put all his faith on him. Maybe he could even learn a thing or two with it that could be useful later, not just for knowing what to expect when going back home, but also for dealing with people in the city.

For once, it seemed like there was a level-headed woman who came from a world of the magical, like herself. Always a good person to have at your side, someone you can sympathize with and act smarter than.
After contemplating it for a moment, Seiga held out her hand. "Seiga Kaku, hermit and apparently Saint for this day. I'll add that magicians hardly are the smartest, just the most read. There's a definite difference."
Then, as soon as Ms. Tairee worked her magic and they appeared on the sidewalk outside, her skipping turned into a frantic sprint as Yoshika dragged him forward as far away from the library as possible. His hand caught in a painful death grip as Yoshika tried, and failed, to hold his wrist as lightly as possible.
The two came around a building and, when Yoshika was certain she couldn't possibly be seen by Seiga, she let loose.
"I'm ALIVE AGAIN! My body is dead, but I can think, and the Writer did this in response to a stupid request, but I'm here! Seiga doesn't know, and it only lasts for a day, LucasyouneedtohelpmegetpeopletostopSeigarightnow!"

Library ~ Looking Forwards
Throughout the entire time Sans and Caro were speaking, Fate didn't look up again nor really respond, the closest she got being a small flinch as Caro put an arm around her. However, a couple moments later, she opened up her hands to look at Bardiche again. She turned him around as if seeing him in his current form for the first time. Then she picked him back up and put him back over her face, where he'd been before she called her mother.
"...I'm going to take that as a yes," Arf commented, with a small smile and a sigh of relief.
Right about that time Sans came back with a similar tablet to the one she used, and suggested that she get in on the call.
"...'Bro?'" she asked.
"I think that's supposed to be short for 'brother,'" Arf replied, turning to Sans as if asking for additional clarification.
"Oh..." Fate then managed a small smile. "That sounds like it could be nice...."

And she wasn't wrong. There was plenty of times were he felt that he couldn't do anything, that all of his options had been used. That didn't stop him in the end from doing what he needed to do. Same with Ben's problem. They would find a way. He could feel it! Sora looked back up and put on a happy face. Yeah, they couldn't be beaten just yet! They would stop that Ghostjerk!
Sora made the choice to not address Louie. He just cared for others and it wasn't like the Pokemon trainer was going to plan to hurt Miss Tairee over this. Getting angry sometimes is fine as long as you don't let it be stuck inside of you. The person who really needed some help was Ben.
Sora told Ben cheerfully, "We can still do this Ben. He may have gotten this part but we can still beat him. Your Grandpa is part of our team too and teammates believe in each other. I'm sure him and this Gwen will figure out what to do. Just hearing that your ok would be part of how you fight back against Ghostfreak. He want's to hurt your heart but your too strong for that. You know that you have friends here and family back home that would go to the ends to help you. That's a powerful weapon Ben. Now, let's get our calls back home. We have a world to save after all!"
Sora puts his hands on his hips with a happy energy. "And I know two guys that could cheer you right up." Sora asks Miss Tairee 6, "Miss Tairee, I need some things please. The Jimmy Journal, a bag to carry some stuff, and a device to contact Goofy." OOC note Goofy would be up in the Gummy Ship trying to figure out where Sora is from a mixture of concern and the fact that Yen Sid assigned him to do this. Just to note, he will most likely be with Donald who is trying to figure this out too.
Somewhere on the streets
Before Lucas could react at all, Yoshika was already bringing them upstairs in a manner that would not seem suspicious to a certain hermit. This was good. A few moments later, the both of them were gone from the library and back on the streets.
And now he was being dragged, quite painfully, away from the library. If he was able to be hurt today, Lucas surely would've suffered a lot. How fortunate that today was a break day. Still, he was all too happy when the ride finally ended. Seiga being long behind them gave an opportunity to talk. An opportunity capitalized on by the now fast talking Yoshika. Lucas blinked a few times as he processed the rushed run-on sentence. So the writer did this because she wrote something and this would only last for today? This had to be utilized effectively, then. Probably not going to be a second chance from the one in charge of this prison.
There wasn't time to waste. Quickly thinking of people who could be of help, Lucas couldn't come up with much. Jack was obvious, but what of others? Sans and Caro would probably want to help, but they were in the library and dealing with a broken person last he checked. Not to mention the trouble of finding a specific person in a moving city.
Well, talk was a good start. Knowledge was power and Yoshika was right there for the asking. Lucas started speaking "OK, slow down a bit and let's talk this through. So... we should try to get help for this, right? We should see if we can find Jack, but anyone else I can think of off the top of my head is back in the library, which isn't really an option as long as she's in there. I have one question for you. you know this situation better than I do, so do you have any ideas?" It was true, he had no idea where to start solution-wise, being an outsider to everything but the knowledge that Yoshika is a jiangshi being forced to serve Seiga.
Fate reacted about as she had expected to being touched and aside from there didn't seem to be any other reaction coming from her yet. After a while though, there seemed to be some small progress. She reacted much in the same way as Arf did as Fate put on the now mask-like Bardiche. It was a very small and tentative step, for sure, but it was a start at least ...
Sans then returned, announcing that he had gotten something to contact Papyrus with and offering to let Fate in on the call as well to cheer her up, which did get another positive response out of her. This just might be what they needed. From what she had heard about Papyrus, he probably would be able to
manage it and if Sans clearly had that much faith on it, despite things probably being at least slightly different, due to how that wish had worked, then she was more than willing to put her trust on it too.
"I can confirm that is indeed what he means," Caro said to Fate and Arf, before turning to Sans and saying, "That sounds like a great idea. I have been looking forward to this and it just might be what this calls for, so, yeah, let's get on with it!"
She would then slowly pull away her arm, lightly but hopefully reassuringly brushing her hand against one of Fate's shoulders as she did so. She then scooted over to the far end of the seat, close to the arm of the couch, to make room for Sans in between the two of the them.

Yoshika almost looked delighted as Lucas listened to her, but as she thought, her expression turned back to fearful. "I...I don't know how to fix this, I don't know if I can fix this. I...We just need to tell people about Seiga now! That's what the Writer said we should do, if everyone hates her..."
If everyone hates her, she'll be murdered, she mentally finished. Yes, that realization from yesterday still rang true. It might've been the situation clouding her judgement, but that seemed just like the kind of devil's choice the Writer would try and lead her into...
"...I'm not sure about that, but...first thing. We need to find Jack, and to see if he can help us find others who'll also help."
"I understand perfectly Ben. I think it is you who does not realize everything; and yes, you should call your grandfather" Miss Tairee 6 said to Ben, typing on her holographic screen as another tablet appeared in front of Ben with a blur. "Simply press the button to start the call, then press it again if you want to hang up. Once either you or he hangs up, or the day ends, the device will cease to exist" the librarian informed him, then asked in a tone as if trying to hint towards something, "but before that, did you need anything else?"
"What else is there to understand?! You're just letting his world be threatened!" Louie complained still, and readied one of his pokeballs.
Thomas grabbed Louie's arm from behind and shook his head. "Louie, that won't help" Thomas said simply, then looked at Ben. "So Ben, is there anything your grandpa can do, in your world?" the young wizard asked him.
"By the way, you have a message" Miss Tairee 6 then told Thomas, and with a blur a small note appeared in front of him, which he took and read quickly, going a bit cross-eyed as he got to the signature at the bottom.
Next up she glanced at Sora. "... Very well" Miss Tairee 6 stated, and after some typing on her holographic screen, the journal, a bag of holding, and another of those tablets appeared with a blur in front of Sora. "It's just like the one I gave Ben" the librarian added, since Sora should've heard the previous explanation for that one.
Miss Tairee 1, being at the central desks, glanced to Lewis and Eve with a raised eyebrow. "I have a response message; for both of you" Miss Tairee 1 told them, sounding as if this fact intrigued her. She tapped a few keys on the keyboard, and then a note appeared on the desk in front of them.
There are solutions to what you seek already available to you. You should consider the resources at your disposal before pleading to me for a deus ex machina.
And of course beneath that was a multi-dimensional signature.
Meanwhile, Dave stopped and glanced back at Cole, confused for a moment. "Huh? Oh, it's you kid. I thought you'd still be in the hospital" Dave said, turning to face him. "Are you here to get a message home too?" the troll asked him.
"Very well" Miss Tairee 10 said, typing on her holographic screen. After a bit, one of those tablets appeared in front of Rex with a blur. "Just hit the button to start the call, and hit it again to hang up. Once you or Bobo hangs up or once the day ends, this device will cease to exist" the librarian instructed him.
"Now, is there anything else before I go back?" Miss Tairee 10 asked him, hand poised over one of the buttons on her holographic screen.
"Yeah, uh... We've got to tidy stuff up here, so why don't you two go on ahead?" Chuck said in response to Curly, motioning to her and Silanea.
"Huh? Why tidy-" Melanie started, only for Chuck to hush her again.
"Us? Go where?" Silanea asked.
"Out to get breakfast, like she said" Connor said, motioning to Curly.
"Oh... Are you sure?" Silanea muttered, looking to Curly.
"She said she wants to be your friend; it's just like two friends to have a meal together. Right?" Connor mentioned, looking to Curly.

Lewis - Library - I'm just gonna pretend I wasn't expecting worse things
I read the note, idly wondering why my last name was printed but not Eve's. What, did they not have those where she was from or...?
"Like what?" I questioned. "Am I missing something here?"
I noted the tablet she gave Ben, remembering what I came here for and reassuring myself that I had all day to call her.
Ben frowned at her, nodding. "If you can't stop Ghostfreak from contacting whoever it is... can you do something to help my world? Gwen and Grandpa are gonna need all the help they can get. " He looked over at Thomas. "Grandpa is a member of this group called the Plumbers. Don't mind the name, they were undercover. Basically they're some kinda secret organization dedicated to fighting the alien bad guy scum of the universe. They went into hiding on Earth, but all this stuff with my disappearing and Ghostfreak doing thing stuff on Earth is probably making them run around freaking out," he explained to the wizard.
He thought for a moment, his eyes widening. "Miss Tairee! You said my world is fictional in some other universe. Can you get me the source story and show me what Ghostfreak's minion's gonna do?" he asked her.
Ghostfreak flew up, deciding what he wanted to say, before pressing a few buttons on the tablet. Static began to fill the device, as the image of a brutish, but tall and calculating-looking man appeared on the viewfinder. The man's eyes widened when he saw Ghostfreak's image appear on a monitor of his own, and he picked up the communicator and began to walk towards a hallway.
"Excuse me, I must step out for a moment. I, uh, need some fresh air," the man told his associates, and he walked down a brightly lit hallway, into a dark room. The man then bowed deeply, kneeling before the communicator. "My master," he greeted, sounding more reverent, his head lowered. His head then rose up and looked into the communicator again. "I live to—" he started, then raised an eyebrow when he saw the coloration of his master.
There was a moment of silence.
"Yes, I am aware of my shift in coloration. Do not ask, it would take far too long to explain and such matters are irrelevant. Now, Dr. Vicktor. I have contacted you so that you may begin to enact the plan. Send the Loboan to set up the communications network, and send the Thep Khufan to gather as much Corrodium as it can. Once we have done so, we can flood the planet Earth with Corrodium radiation, and bathe the daylight side in darkness in preparation for my ultimate return... and my ultimate revenge," Ghostfreak explained.
Dr. Vicktor bowed again. "Forgive me, master, but I have been having trouble staying underground. Plumber activity in this sector has increased dramatically and it makes it hard to operate openly. And pardon me for asking, but revenge against who exactly?" he asked.
"An irritating human boy... named Ben Tennyson," Ghostfreak continued. "Do not worry about the Plumbers. Tennyson is the only one who will be able to stop you, but he is trapped in another universe as we speak. You will be able to operate with impunity. Go, enact the plan, with haste, and do not fail me or my wrath will be swift and fierce!" he shouted, a hiss in his voice. Dr. Vicktor nodded.
"Yes, master. I will not delay. The shield should be up by the end of the week. When will you make your glorious return, master?" Vicktor asked. Ghostfreak thought for a moment.
"That, I am not sure. But when I do return, I will rule Earth, and I will create a new bastion of darkness for the Anur denizens to thrive in." Vicktor seemed satisfied by this answer.
"I will not disappoint you, master. Vicktor out." With that, Viktor closed communications.

"Ciri," Ciri said to Seiga, taking the offered hand and shaking it roughly. "Be that as it may, well-read still tend to be well-informed, and in this City I could stand to gain all the information available. Though aside from an old man and an ogre, the librarian, you, and your womanservant, most of what I've learned of this city has come from children."
She held up the odd pamphlet. "And this paper." Her face grew grim. "Above all else, what concerns me is where it speaks of the power to raise the dead. That those who perish in this realm are resurrected by powerful magics, yet not as thralls or draugir. In all my travels, never have I seen or even imagined such a thing."
And what better would a friend from a backwards world be if she despised your being? Eh, if she couldn't stand to be around her, it wasn't meant to be in the first place. Seiga smiled, and said "As an aside, I'd like to get this out of the way now. Does it bother you that you're talking to a necromancer right now?"
Fate seemed to be interested, that was good, at least there were no objections. Sans then sat down on the couch between Caro and Fate and began making the call.
It took barely any time at all before the screen of the tablet showed a very confused looking Papyrus, still wearing the same "battle armor" as he did back in the Underground. It all abruptly changed into him being shocked as he began seeing Sans onscreen
"'sup, bro?" Sans casually asked
"SANS!!!" Papyrus yelled out, sounding very surprised, relieved and just a little bit angry, his face getting closer to the screen. "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL THIS TIME?! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW WORRIED WE WERE?!?! UNDYNE AND I HAVE BEEN TURNING THE KINGDOM UPSIDE DOWN LOOKING FOR YOU!" He then began calming himself down and leaned back against his chair, his eyes narrowing. "LITERALLY. SOMETIMES."
Despite this all being a scolding, Sans was very, very happy just by hearing Papyrus’ voice again. It might not have been very apparent, but a lot of his worries had completely dissipated by that point.
"sorry, bro, something came up. i'm fine though, don't worry," he calmly responded to his brother
The initial reaction out of the way, Papyrus just looked at Sans for a few seconds, his confused expression returning.
"WHY ARE YOU WEARING A HALLOWEEN COSTUME? HALLOWEEN WAS MONTHS AGO!"
"halloween?" Sans sincerely asked.
"YES, HALLOWEEN. THE HOLIDAY WHERE PEOPLE DRESS UP IN SPOOKY COSTUMES AND CHILDREN GO FROM DOOR TO DOOR ASKING FOR CANDY. LAST TIME WE WENT I WORE AN INCREDIBLE OUTFIT, AS USUAL, WHILE ALL YOU DID WAS WEAR YOUR NORMAL CLOTHES AND PUT ON A TAG WITH 'COSTUME' WRITTEN ON IT. AND YOU STILL GOT A LOT OF CANDY WITH IT!" Papyrus explained, folding his arms in indignation
Sans snorted, looks like past him was just as clever as the present him. Maybe things wouldn't be so different when he got back home after all.
"yeah, that was pretty great."
It was only then that Papyrus seemed to even realize there were other people with Sans. He had been holding out the tablet at a distance so the others would show up on the screen, but despite that Arf wasn't quite fitting in.
"ALSO, WHO ARE THOSE GIRLS?" He asked, unfolding his arms

How well does it match the trope?
