Curly was almost surprised that the maneuver worked without getting at least one of them chopped by the chainsaw. Surprised enough that a few paces outside of the shack she turned to make sure Morty's head was still attached and saw that their monster was focused on Rick now. Thinking quickly she grabbed a chunk of broken brick and shouted "Hey, bagface! I thought you liked teens not old guys!" and threw it at Leatherface.
Without waiting to watch his reaction she turned to run, presumably still holding Morty's hand, down a path to the left.
Morty yelped in a mixture of surprise and shock as Curly dragged him around the chainsaw-wielding maniac and out the splintered door, hurtling down the rough cobbled path at a breakneck pace. He didn't really have the energy left to scream or do anything but to pour as much energy as he could into his overtaxed adrenal glands - fortunately, facing imminent death for the fourth or fifth time in as many hours meant that they were happily working overtime.
"Run, Morty!" he heard someone shout from somewhere behind him, the sounds already faint and muted over the roar of gasoline-powered death. From somewhere closer, he heard Curly shouting something about young teens, kicking something through the synapses of his brain...
"Uh... r-run... darling?" he shouted, his voice awkward and trembling over Leatherface's imminent murder spree. "We, uh, w-we're young teens w-who *pant* a-are... madly, uh, madly in love ... and everybody knows slasher monsters chase us!" he shouted with a little more defiance as the two dashed down the path.
"uh I mean you know it's just, like... you know." Morty shot a vaguely apologetic glance at the robot girl as he stammered as though trying to apologize for what he'd just said.

Lewis hitting Leatherface with a mic stand combined with the sudden piece of brick from the other side just barely kept the chainsaw from reaching Rick, passing within inches of his face. Thus it was time for Lewis to attempt his break for it, but Leatherface was not done yet; in the confined space the quickest escape route for Lewis was behind Leatherface, and the killer suddenly wheeled around and swung the chainsaw out as Lewis passed him.
The good news was Lewis made it to the door, but this probably came at little consolation considering the large, profusely bleeding gash torn along his side.
You are reading this."Maybe it is because I am completely defenseless aside FROM A STICK!!!" Plague Knight call out to the Fanboy, his voice becoming louder out of both annoyance and to make sure the man heard him as the Fanboy went to get the page in question. He then looked over a took a closer look at the page Viola pulled out. It was a crude child's drawing on some sort of black humanoid creature with only its eyes and mouth as a separate closer, here being red, almost like fire.
"What sort of creature is that?" Plague Knight asked Viola. "Looks to be some sort of golem."
DAMMIT MARK, STOP HITTING HELPY!!Gon, picking up the slack with rocks again
On his way out to make contact, he decided to go pick up more rocks. Most small and some medium in size. He hoped to find someone who can update on what's happening.
He saw Cole. At least, he thinks it's Cole. Last time he saw him, he got killed.
How the hell... Gon frowned before he realized that it's the work of whoever sent him here.
"What's happened to you?" Gon asked Cole when he saw him up close.
Karkat - Ferris Wheel - insert handwave here
Karkat ignored Arcade and Calvin for a few seconds, most of his attention put onto the ferris wheel. It was spooky and worn and probably had some disease on it... LOOK, I KNOW YOU PROBABLY WANT TO GO AROUND SAVING EVERY LITTLE KID WE RUN INTO IN THIS HELLHOLE, BUT LET'S BE HONEST, IT'S JUST GONNA SLOW US DOWN.

(holds pool noodle threateningly) Do you want to know what we do to artists?Arcade sighed as he stood up once again. He motioned for Calvin to follow him and told Karkat, "I've heard every justification for allowing people to suffer adversity unattended, it didn't stop me from helping when I could. If you don't want to help I can't stop you, but I'm not going to overlook someone in need of help." He moved over towards Karkat and looked around for anything that might offer better protection than a frying pan.

I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life."Viola I Pools I Don't Mind Us
"Maybe. Maybe not. I have no idea what it is, only that it's huge, it's fast for its size and definitely hostile. I don't think I'll be able to survive a second encounter and shouldn't we be helping them?"
I answered the doctor while looking at the struggling militia trying to pull his ally away from something under the water. On one hand, we could leave them alone and escape on our own, letting them handle the aftermath of dealing with an enraged Onnyro or whatever is it Seiga called it.
On the other hand, we'll be back to almost square one, with the three of us left on our own within the City full of monsters. And none of us are the *ahem* 'heroic' kind, so joining up with a militia or two sounds like a good idea. Plus, that one man who talks about the pages certainly know something more about this, so having him couldn't hurt either.
And with more people around us now, it's certainly not impossible for us to overpower the spirit with sheer numbers and escape. Or at least, have one of them to 'volunteer' themselves and help the rest of us escape.
The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning towards the latter.
"We should join up with them," I said to both Seiga and the doctor simply, having reached a decision. That done, I moved towards to the militia and tried to assist pulling Fastanook up from being pulled into the pool.

"Yeah, just to try and get that thing away from them. Don't worry about it" Curly panted back as they ran down their chosen path. Somewhere up ahead the ruined structure of some large wheel attraction stood over the dead foliage and low tents and structures of the day. "Think we lost it? Or they got away?"
Taking advantage of Leatherface's momentary swipe towards Lewis, Rick ducked around the chainsaw swipe aimed at the teenager and quickly moved around behind the masked psychopath as he made a run for the door.
"Uh... um... um..." Morty quickly jerked his hand away from Curly's and stared at the decaying mass of brown wood behind them as he weighed the robot girl's question in his mind. "... m-maybe? I guess- I mean, I hope? L-like, I mean, maybe it-" Morty trailed off again as he tried not to contemplate the unpleasant notion that was sitting heavily in his mind.
"I dunno. If Rick were here he'd tell me not to think about it. A-and then probably drink."

"Hm?" Plague Knight then looked over at Fastanook as he was being pulled down into the pool. "Oh." The knight joined Viola in helping out the gremlin from being pulled under. "Grab my hand!" the alchemist called out to the militia member. If Fastanook did grab Plague Knight's hand, the knight would then stab his staff into the floor in order to provide himself with support and possibly a means to pull the gremlin back up.
DAMMIT MARK, STOP HITTING HELPY!!Wow. That actually worked. Well, there was no need to grab anyone or tell them to make a break for it, so I took the chance to just ru—HOLY SHIT.
I nearly crumpled to the floor on the spot the moment the slash impacted, but through sheer panic alone managed to propel myself to the door nonetheless. Evidently the fight or flight response was just that powerful. Nonetheless it didn't stop me from screaming like a banshee from the pain.
But at least we were out of that building. Being outside meant having places to run, instead of being trapped in a confined space. But which way? I thought I saw Morty and Curly going left, so I went left. Yeah, there they were. Definitely left. No need to split the party. Larger groups could cover for each other, like what'd just happened now. What'd just happened now. Heh, we may have cheated death yet again. Maybe. That was questionable in my case, considering I was bleeding out.
I was bleeding out. It hurt, in more ways than one. I pushed that aside. What if it left a trail. Trails were bad. Something undesirable could follow them. Needed to stop or slow it. Needed, needed a cloth. A cloth. Clothing. Vest. I wasn't sure how absorbant it'd be but it was worth a shot. I hastily removed it, a task made just a bit awkward by the fact that I was somehow still holding the mic stand, and pressed it hard against my injured side. Ow, fuck, too hard. I eased up a bit. Slightly less painful. I could work with that, maybe.
Was that the top of the Ferris wheel in the skyline? Ugh, fuck that place. I called out to Curly and Morty, speeding up just slightly. "Hey, you two alright?"
moved to Oceanstuck because this handle was starting to bother me my tumblrNo, more likely than not, if she was saying this she had something else in mind. So far, she'd been crafty like that, and Seiga could trust her. She tried to do the best absentminded shrug she could manage with a fresh chest wound, which was honestly very convincing all things considered, and abandoned her plans to leave just yet.
With the two of them trying to fish out the little furred thing, Seiga immediately circled around and said "I'll go for that paper thing, whatever it is!" Which is exactly what she did! Seiga ran over to the slide, where some unimportant person figured it might be, and climbed up it to search for it.
Well, not really realized today, because Seiga told her to shout that she was a zombie whenever she wanted to scare someone. An important thing to note.
"I-I'm not a monster!" she shouted at Tommy in surprise. Then, she immediately regretted the decision to shout at a child after probably scaring him with how she was acting. Yoshika sighed, and shook her head at the boy. "...I'm sorry for shouting like that. And, little girl, it's just the day doing this to me. Everything's been strange this day..."
Right now, she didn't really want to deal with this further. With how little could be done, she just had to wait it out. Comfortably, hopefully, which isn't easy to do while standing in the street. Yoshika sighed again, and said "Guys. Let's stop doing this and go find someplace else to be..."
Calvin
"Hey - with all the magic/comic book stuff going on, do you know anywhere I can get weapons? My water balloons don't seem to be working. Something like a laser gun would be really cool." Calvin asked as he followed Arcade.
Hobbes
"I'm all for going somewhere else? What about back to the Ferris Wheel? I bet that...thing is gone by now." Hobbes offered.
OK, that was enough venting. The similarities of the current topic of discussion to what happened to Claus kind of dug up all the sadness that was buried from the near constant distractions he had experienced lately. It had only been a few days since Claus died, after all.
Now that he had told someone else about it, Lucas felt like a great weight had been lifted off of him. He was ready to get things done. He wouldn't be able to face anyone back home if he didn't manage to pull himself together. He was the one who led his friends around on their adventure. Least he could do now was calm down.
Yoshika didn't want anything to be done to Seiga. Her reasons were sound, as well. It was infuriating, but Lucas wouldn't just go against her wishes. There was one possibility he could think of, the suggestion box. But for now, it was time to move on.
They needed to find a place to go. Of course, that was easier said than done. Pretty much any building held a potential for danger. But, he had about enough of this as he could take. Lucas said for the whole group to hear "I agree with Y-Yoshika. Even if the b-buildings are dangerous, we really should get out of the street. I think maybe we should j-just walk in a random direction until we find something promising. That's what I think, at least."
Why is a yam attacking me?"Not everything is about fighting dude! The point of the day is something different!" the Fanboy with the beanie called back at Plague Knight as he continued on towards the slide.
Meanwhile, with the effort of Nails, Plague Knight, and Viola, they had managed to bring Fastanook's progress towards the pool to a stop, and just barely started to inch him back up. But, being the center of such a tug of war was not going great for the gremlin.
There was a terrible crunching and cracking noise as his left leg straightened out in a way it clearly wasn't supposed to, and bent a bit the wrong way; Fastanook let out a loud scream of pain before clenching his teeth. "GHAH! My leg, it's- AAGH!" he said as there was another crunch of his ankle twisting about. "I'm dead for, just let me die and come back" the gremlin requested, his eyes watering from the pain.
"No, come on!" Nails protested, sounding desperate and a little shocked.
"You're just making it longer for me" Fastanook muttered, starting to get short of breath from the shock.
"As long as it's getting him it won't be getting the rest of us!" the Fanboy commented as he ascended towards the peak of the ladder. He got up there and looked around, not seeing anything at first. It was only when Seiga had caught up that he spotted it. "Ah, up there! Wait, up there?!" he said, doing a quick double take as he pointed to the page, which was attached to a ceiling banister where it wasn't visible from the front half of the room.
The ceiling was low enough and the slide up high enough that, if one got precariously up on the railing and hopped up, they could probably grab one of the banisters and climb along the underside to where the page was; towards the center of the room and thus hanging above the murky water of the pool. The Fanboy glanced at Seiga and nervously asked, "uh, I don't suppose you're good at the monkey bars?"
It wasn't exactly like there were any guns or raider made melee weapons just lying about, so nothing exactly was standing out to Arcade. There was some rusty metal rods near the base of the ferris wheel that at least had a bit of reach in a pinch, but didn't look like they'd take much before bending or breaking.
From a nearby overgrown patch of trees and bushes came a sudden, "you out there, shush!" There was a couple moments of nothing else, then a slightly gruff looking older man poked his head up above the bushes a little, and beckoned with arm showing off his red coat. "Get out of the open! There's something up on that wheel!" Lieutenant Wells told them urgently, but still quietly.
Leatherface ran after them out the radio station for a while, going at about a slow run while his chainsaw still idling, but after a bit of running they seemed to lose him. They couldn't hear his chainsaw anymore at least, or see him around anywhere.
Tommy was a little startled by Yoshika's sudden yell, but as his lip started to tremble again, he heard her say this was just a thing about the day, and he looked thoughtful. "So, today made you different? Just like See's eyes being different?" Tommy asked.
Seirwuosuhr, after staring blankly for a moment, perked up a bit as she clearly had a stroke of inspiration. "Uh, yeah! That must be it! It's just the day making my eyes weird" Seirwuosuhr said, sounding proud of her newfound excuse; she did not seem to be aware of how obvious it was that she was lying.

You are reading this.Arcade sighed in resignation, he was lucky to have found even two possible weapons. Calvin seemed to have the same idea, if a little off. He made a mental note to keep his gun away from the boy if he got it back.
He was going to respond when he heard someone trying to get their attention. Arcade took a quick glance at the wheel before urging Calvin towards the bushes, doing his best to stay between the children and the wheel.

I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life."Jack jerked back a little bit at Yoshika's mention of killing Seiga, surprised. He hadn't come across like that, had he? "Whoa, I never said anything about killing. But, I can't not do anything about it. What she's done to you, is very, very wrong. And I can't let her get away with it."
The former spirit didn't believe the girl had no idea of what the woman might do to her, but left it alone. He could imagine what someone twisted enough to do this in the first place might do as 'punishment'. He tensed again when the young girl shouted at Tommy, glancing around in worry. "She's right, we should get moving. We've been here to long."
When Hobbes suggested they try to find the Ferris Wheel again, Jack's heart jumped into his throat and he spun to face the tiger. "No!" Breathing heavily, the Guardian realized what he'd done. "I mean, it's probably best not to. That thing was... bad. Very bad. Let's just... keep looking."
It was all Morty could do not to retch in sympathy when Lewis and Rick lurched out from the shack. His grandfather was more or less untouched - but the large and rapidly growing red stain across Lewis's side was a nausea-inducing sight at best.
"Hoo... oh geez, holy shit, holy..." Morty momentarily lost his balance as he tried to look away from the painful scene.
"Morty, y-you *urp* you gotta calm down, things are *urp* they're going to be fine. He's fine."
"R-really...?"
"No, Morty, t-that was a lie, I was lying to *urp* t-to you to make you feel better, he's probably going to die. I mean like it's a miracle that h-he's up and walking around right now." Rick lightly cuffed his grandson on the back of his head as though to emphasize the point, leaving Morty lightly rubbing the back of his neck while Rick bravely downed another shot of liquor to steel his nerves.
"Is-isn't there... anything you can do?" Morty asked.
"Okay, look, m-maybe - maybe if we find, I dunno, a, a, food stall that's not populated by hamburger demons or certain over-merchandised monsters, I mean, maybe I can whip something up. Remember that *urp* that purge thing a few days ago, Morty? Remember that?"
"Huh, I mean... y-yeah, t-that was a real crazy kind of..."
"Yeah, I'm going to make that... *urp* that thing that I made. Boy *urp* howdy, I mean, who doesn't love t-the, the continuity on display here."

Viola I Pools I Not According to Plan
... Well. The rescue attempt turned out to be completely pointless. I suppose I should've taken this into account. So now, we're down by one man and have five left.
If we find ourselves in worse condition than before, that would be very unfortunate.
He definitely wouldn't be able to move with his leg bent like that, not unless he fancies to crawl himself throughout the entire day. A shame. I'm perfectly fine leaving him as it is, but I can tell some may not agree to it, so I might as well keep up with my previous decision and hold onto him.
All the same...
"W-what should we do?" I asked to those around me, wanting to know whether should we continue pulling him up or let him go. Truth be told, letting him go would save us a lot of trouble. He'll die a hopefully quick death and the ghost will be distracted momentarily, enough for us to get the page and to get away.
... But little girls aren't supposed to think, let alone suggest, such a thing, so I leave the decision to the adults. If asked to continue pulling, then I'll pull. If not...

LOOK MAN, DO WHATEVER THE FUCK YOU WANT, BUT DON'T COME CRYING WHEN HALF OF YOUE BONE NOOK IS BEING DIGESTED IN SOME EVIL BARKBEAST'S STOMACH. He picked up a rusty pipe lying on the ground and tested it out by swinging at the air. He stopped when he realized Arcade wasn't replying and turned around to see him following some guy (he thought he recognized him but he wasn't sure) in the bushes. HEY, WHAT THE FUCK?

(holds pool noodle threateningly) Do you want to know what we do to artists?Curly didn't have an immediate response to Morty, but Lewis called out shortly after. She winced in sympathy at the sight of him trying to staunch his wound with the vest, that didn't look good. Though all things considered they were lucky that was the only wound. And no chainsaw to be heard.
"We're fine, hardly a scratch. Hard to believe you caught up to us like that" Meanwhile it sounded like Rick might have had a plan for patching Lewis up once he got his dose of booze out of the way "We'd better keep moving while we can, if you can keep walking" She turned to Rick before continuing down the path away from the radio station "There's gotta be a another one somewhere in this city if we keep moving. But what are you gonna make out of the stuff in a food stall to help a wound like that?"

Wandering outside - Road towards recovery
Caro was definitely feeling a bit better right now, what with all the hugging and hair stroking. Eventually, she did carefully slipped out the embrace.
"T-Thank you ... That helped a bit ... " She whispered as she did so.
Expectently, Sans concurred that searching for the pages a really unnecessary risk at the moment, without even a known, let alone a worthy reward to balance it out. The discussion then turned to what would be a suitable place to hide. Cole, while looking quite a bit down, literally, issued a somewhat broken and cryptic description of what they should look for. He also said that he should stay behind and fight if anything came, to let the rest escape. She really hoped it didn't come to that again. It had been bad enough with Zelda and when she couldn't do anything to help Cole himself earlier ... Still, she did have to grant that under the current conditions, he probably was the most capable of actually fighting. His physical abilities shouldn't have hopefully, been as effected as the more supernatural ones.
Garrett seemed to be rather confused by the whole thing, assuming that Cole had sensed the place described.
"No, I think that is just a general description ... Everyone's powers and such were taken away, so couldn't be sensing something like that and the natural of this place makes searching for a specific place, even one that we have been to, quite difficult. But yeah, that does sound like probably among the best we can find in this situation ... Which is not much, but at least it is something ... So be on the look for that kind of place ... " She then said.

The Fanboy looked at Plague Knight and gave an unconcerned shrug. "Pretty much every other day has had a task on top of the environment going on, right? I don't see the big deal" the Fanboy said, then looked into the pool room again. "I bet it's up on the slide. I'll be back!" he announced, running forward and past Nails as the militia member ran to Fastanook.
Fastanook had been trying to claw away from the pool as he was dragged further off the edge towards it, but was finding it difficult to get any purchase on the floor with his claws. "Fastanook!" Nails yelled, grabbing the gremlin's hands and trying to pull him away, but only managing to slow his descent towards the pool.
"Did, she say she's undead? Is she one of the monsters?" Tommy muttered, still unsure of what was going on.
"She's a Risen One, but she's alive now? But, mommy said that was impossible..." Seirwuosuhr commented, seeming very uncertain of what was going on.
