Eun (Grocery Store) - Nurse Eun to the Rescue...?

In a way I felt bad for that armored man. He was clearly frustrated at constantly failing to face his foe, even when three days earlier the bird had been just outside the building he was defending at that time. But to insult an injured, possibly dying boy... in all my years, not even I had done something of the sort before. It said much about his character, and how little he was probably appreciated out in the city.

Speaking of which, not many people were as interested in the boy as they should have been.

The first thing I decided to do was to try to calm him down a little, since panicking could indirectly lead to his death. I knelt close to him and shared with him a few words while I patted his forehead. "Worry not, boy," I whispered to his ear. "You are safe here. Simply remain calm, and we will ensure your pain goes away."

Then I turned towards the woman and the... definitely not human who were trying to mend his wounds.

"I shall assist as well. Is there anything in particular you would like me to do?"

Cole seemed only dimly aware of what the others were doing around him at the moment, not really resisting Rachel as she tried to keep him in place. He shivered slightly, looking out of it, blinking slowly a time or two, before Eun came over, trying to soothe him. He turned his head towards her, just staring at her in silence a moment, before focus seemed to return to his eyes, and a low, near growl escaped him.

"Get away from me..."

He seemed to abruptly lunge upwards, sitting up, snarling as he tried to shove Rachel and Fastanook away. "Get away from me!"

The others looking would be able to see what seemed like some sort of green light cracking along his skin, even as his eyes went to a glowing green as well, leaving him hunched over where sat, breathing hard, clutching at the wound in his stomach, glaring around the room at the others. "L-leave me be...y-you don't...you don't care, y-you don't..."

He seemed to almost be struggling against something, shaking his head with a faint twitch, the green light seeping out through his flesh flaring up and fading out as he did. "You let it...l-let it h-h-happen...all of you, y-you...this...l-let it happen!"

Space ship - When space is not the only void

Caro could only watch in horror as Sans' next reaction proved her horribly right. It really had finally pushed him over the edge. She had seeing him before with a hollow smile, with the light literally out of his eyes, but never like this, with that ever present, casual smile just ... Gone. It pained her to witness just how broken he was and must have been for quite some time.

She had to get her act together. More than ever, he needed her. Weak responses like her last one wouldn't do. She had to stay determined and prove to him even with such a horrible setback, things weren't that despairing yet.

While gently setting a hand on his shoulder, her look shining with determination, her tone sounding equally resolute and yet soft, she spoke, "No, no it wasn't! You singlehandly defused that whole horrible hostage situation. You were pretty much the only one here who could have done without it literally blowing up on all our faces. And even though that thing maybe now back anyway, you stopped that ritual. Thinking about it, that bomb they had ... If that ritual required mass murder once it was ready, then likely the plan was to set it off anyway. Preventing that from happening ... People being blown up and having their soul taken for that ritual ... That is a major victory already. And I can't see how absorbing goodness knows how many souls wouldn't make that thing come back even nastier than before ... "

While flashing him a warm smile, she continued, "This won't be nearly as bad as when that thing and Ruckus first emerged. Most people who have been around long enough know about them and we can also all do our best to proper warn any newcomers. People won't anywhere near as easy to be tricked into joining their "cause". They could not only our general group friends but also the two other major groups in the city pretty much united against them, as well as probably the vast majority of the population. This time around, we can probably stop them again before they have the chance to re-estabilish anything. This was a horrible and unfortunate setback yes, but things are certainly not hopeless, far from it."

Grocery Store, Title Belt
Just as they were leaving, one particular set of screaming over the rest of the din of the store reached Seiga's ears. That of Cole, who before now she wasn't even thinking of as a person, just another bystander in this City.

Unlike those kinds of people who were screaming in pain, or that giant metal man who was just directing his rage at whoever was in front of him, this man was much more direct in anger. It gave Seiga just a brief moment's pause, and she turned around to see what the problem is.

Then, it was a very quick decision. She knew that a demon had just revived, something of immense power with dominion over the minds of men if it could make its own organization. While the Oni of her home were very brutal, they lacked that subtle, immaterial sneakyness. The ability to possess. And, putting two and two together, she looked at Cole and figured it out quick enough.

As soon as she could, she shouted over his last sentence. "Yoshika! Pin the green one, to the ground, don't let him move!" Yoshika, standing passively in the general direction of Ben, snapped to attention and moved as fast as her legs could take her, trying to tackle Cole and bring him to the ground. She honestly had no idea why she was doing this, or why this man was growing green, but she'd work to the best of her abilities!

Space Ship - road to recovery

Sans looked at Caro once she placed her hand on his shoulder. Seeing her smile and talk with such confidence despite the situation, it was as inspiring as it seemed foolish. She just kept going, trying to make the best out of the whole situation despite the disaster he had just unleashed back in the city due to his lack of foresight. It was enough to make a small, sad smile.

"i don't get you two. no matter how bad it gets, you keep on going with a genuine smile, like it was nothing. you keep seeing whatever positives there are, even if they don't really matter in the end." He let out a weak chuckle. "although, you've had quite a few times where you hit a low point too. nobody is unbreakable, i guess, even my bro sometimes couldn't keep the act going..."

He then took his eyes away from Caro and looked downwards again, his hand reaching for his scarf and holding tightly to it. After taking a moment to sigh, he kept going.

"caro, when i told you to stay here and wait, even though i did think of bringing that cultist here for you pin him down... i didn't really think i could do it. i told you to stay here because i wanted to be sure that, even if i messed up and the bomb went off, then at least you would still be safe. after last time, i just couldn't risk getting you hurt again.

He looked back at her, he was feeling a little better already, however the look on his face showed both hesitation and a little shame.

"i... i don't know when it started but... you remind me so much of my brother that, after what happened to him..." He hesitated for a bit, the hand holding the scarf shaking a little. "i started seeing you as... some sort of second chance, a way for me to make up for not being able to do anything for him, i guess. all this hero stuff, saving people, fighting bad guys... i don't really care about any of that. the only reason i keep getting involved in any of it, other than because it's convenient for me, is because i know that if i don't, you'll go anyway. i don't want you to get hurt, i want to be there when you get in something dangerous so that i can help you get out of it safe, and yesterday made it pretty clear that i can't rest easy knowing you're out there, fighting whatever the boss is throwing at us that day while i'm not doing anything."

At this point, Sans began tearing up, letting out another weak chuckle as he realized that tears were starting to stream from his face, for the first time in who knows how long, without it being the influence of another being.

"i don't know what you might think of me, but i'm not that good of a guy, caro. the only reason i've doing as much as i have is because, even if you might not have realized it, you've been pushing me forward this whole time. even then, whenever it's up to me to do something, i just mess up and things go wrong, very, very wrong. and despite making it my job to keep you safe, i still almost got you killed fighting that thing." He paused, taking a moment to take a deep breath, the sad smile on his face remaining constant. "it's... pretty pathetic, huh? not even a week, and i'm already trying to replace my brother after i lost him. i wonder what he would think of me now..." He concluded, the grip on his scarf growing stronger.

Grocery Store — No need to fight

Ben blushed when Rex called Eve his girlfriend and quickly changed the subject to the militia. He didn't agree with their methods and they had already rejected his help in the past. Rex for his part, wasn't that worried about Wells' science project and tried to assure the kid to not worry either. Rex took off his helmet and dropped it on the floor. It was badly damaged and it could distract him from trying to help Eve.

"I'm just saying. And don't worry, that ship is not going to be finished any time soon. Besides, if it comes down to it, I could alw—"

Cole called attention to himself by angrily telling everyone near her to get away from him. The spirit also started glowing green, flickering as he moved and seemed to struggle with something. Yoshika sprang to action under Seiga's orders, who told her to pin him down but Rex wasn't going to let things escalate. He put his smack hand right in the jiangshi's path, intending to stop her dead on her tracks.

"Hey, stop right there!" he pointed at Cole that had just started accusing everyone of letting the Ruckus revive the demon "And you, calm down and wait for the doctor. Do you think anyone here wanted the demon to come back?"

The only laboratory Lucas had been to before was in significantly better condition then this place, even after the Ultimate Chimera escaped. Lucas could only imagine how PK must feel about this.

At least whoever did this didn't take the creatures that PK seemed fond of. The plant-thing looked like something he might see back home, like a smaller version of one of the trees... Lucas backed away from Wander in a hurry. Exploding trees leave a really bad impression on someone. Lucas busied himself with gathering up any of the larger shards of glass in his immediate vicinity for proper disposal as he didn't want the bare-pawed judge to accidentally cut himself.

"What do you care??" Cole shouted at Rex. "What do you care about anything? Y-you just want...you just want me to stay quiet and out of the way, to be babysat until you suddenly decide my powers might have a use! Maybe you think you found a use for the demon and you decided to bring him back!"

He doubled over further, clutching at the wounds, glaring at Yoshika as she moved towards him. "Stay away from me!"

The crackling lights on his skin seemed to be spreading further, and even widening as he went, the green glow in his eyes darkening, looking almost as though they were going black, with anyone able to see his wounds able to notice the red blood coming from them was darkening at the same rate.

Grocery Store, EVERYONE DONE DID IT NOW

"Aw jeez," mumbled Morty as the group began to move towards the airlock, conveniently forgetting about the whole "hostage" thing for the moment.

"Well," said Rick, bringing up the rear of their motley group, "Th-that all really... really worked itself out, huh? We *urp* we did it! Go team! We won! We won the *urp* we won the... the challenge, the challenge of the, the grocery store... miniboss fight...." Rick raised his hand in a high five.

"What? What are you talking about?" Morty glared up at his grandfather, who was left lamely hanging his hand in the air. "W-we didn't win yet- we didn't even, we didn't even free the hostages!" he blurted. "You - we- we can't just leave like this!"

"Yeah? *urp* Wor-watch me, Morty." Rick took a shot as his eyes followed Morty's weak whimpers of terror, and then widened when he saw none other than everyone's favourite demon-sensing empath beginning to have another one of his trademark... incidents.

"Hhhhhhhooooooo..." mumbled Morty to himself, staring at Cole's increasingly chaotic form as the boy begin to transform into... something else, something that Morty had only seen once before but really really didn't want to see again, especially not under circumstances as strained as these. Seiga and Yoshika moved into contain Cole before he could start moving on anyone else, which was small comfort given the circumstances - and anyway, Cole-monster quickly threw them off before they could even try to bring him in.

"Aw jeez. Aw jeez aw jeez-"

Rick sighed, pulled out his gun from his pocket, and twirled it around in his hands with the air of an old Western gunslinger. "O*urp* okay, look, I-I-I know I'm gonna get a lot of flack from some people," he announced, shooting a glare at Ben, "b-but I'm just saying th-there's a very easy way out of this situation right now that doesn't' *urp* that doesn't involve letting our nightlight buddy over there.... e-eating.... or whatever... eating a bunch o-o-of... you know..." Rick fumbled for the word, "that... we don't even know where, uh, w-where or what they are..." Rick faltered as his basic argument began to crumble.

"Look, I-I'm as... I'm as - look, I'm just saying that if crazy alien powers and, and, whatever they're gonna do isn't gonna work, I mean, you know." Rick stared at the gun.

"Are... uh.... a-aren't we supposed to be rescuing some people? Or something?" asked Morty in a small voice.

Twilight had put on her helmet and followed the others into the lab.

As she noticed the Judge and Lucas around the glass, she stepped near them and started picking up the glass with her magic.

"Probably safest to leave that to someone who doesn't have to directly touch them."

Library, you should pick your battles more carefully
alternative title, you can't out bitch a reality warper of boundless power

Miss Tairee smiled gently, then said, "Sorry, I can't do that. I must ensure I'm available to help anyone who comes into the library, so it would be a dereliction of my duties to do nothing but explain the radio to you. And I can't guarantee that the tea party will always be available, due to potential conflicts with daily conditions" Miss Tairee answered Viola. "However, I can create an acceptable substitute" the librarian added as she started typing on her computer.

"What is even going on right now?" Kelsey muttered, still looking very confused.

Grocery store

The militia member standing next to Eve frowned as Ben and Rex talked. He opened his mouth and was about to speak up when Cole's little outburst took everyone's attention.

The outburst was much to Rachel and Fastanook's surprise, the latter of whom remembered something. "Wait, is this that demon thing again? You need my amulet?" Fastanook offered to Cole. Then when Rick brought up the topic of his gun, the gremlin turned on him and openly growled, baring his row of sharp teeth. "You kill that boy after he's helped us out so much, and I'll make sure you're stuck in our new jail!" the gremlin warned the old scientist.

Samson, watching the scene with slight surprise and confusion, but no degree of panic or anger, calmly suggested, "how about a non lethal gun?" Before letting anyone answer, and hopefully keeping Cole from realizing what was about to happen, Samson promptly quick drew his phaser pistol and fired on Cole.

While this was going on, another shuttle had approached the front airlocks from out of view, and the door on it opened to let Dave the troll and a couple armed individuals push off and head for the unoccupied airlock.

Plague Knight's lab

When Plague Knight entered and the sapling saw him, it stood up and hopped off the table to run over towards him, as fast as its tiny little root legs could scuttle it across the floor. None of the possible hazards seemed to bother it, and when Plague Knight remembered them and scooped it up into a hug, the sapling's little legs waggled happily.

Then when he passed it off to Wander, the sapling stared at the orange creature with its weird not-quite-eyes, as if just perplexed and curious about this new thing it had suddenly encountered.

The baby hornet meanwhile, only spared a curious glance at the group in general when they entered, and resumed its idle hovering.

Cole looked as though he might turn on Fastanook, huffing angrily, but then he caught sight of another man aiming something at him. "Don't you d-"

He didn't have much time to properly threaten before the blast went off, causing only a sharp gasp from the spirit, who collapsed loosely back against the floor, apparently knocked out for now. Within a few seconds, the glowing cracks across his skin seemed to flow away, sealing back up, leaving him looking back to his normal self, though with some remnants of the darker ichor remaining in the blood stains still spreading.

Grocery Store, That Man Has a Family!
Yoshika rebounded straight off of Rex's overly large hands, falling on the floor and looking rather indignant. "Hey, move over! I gotta fix this!" Seiga sincerely wanted to call Rex an idiot to his face, but she guessed that he wouldn't take what she says as seriously if he was in a worse mood. So, calm and composed she remained, even if she was right in the midst of a demon.

"We need him kept still, because that's a textbook case of demonic possession! We're going to need him in one spot to properly exorcise him," she said to Rex, a little of her irateness showing through. Truthfully, it's not like she had anything on hand to deal with this. She mostly was planning on having Yoshika snap his neck as soon as she could. Then, he'd return to life, normal and with memories of pain in his spine. It was just a matter of figuring out if this demon could jump hosts at will, and if the answer was "no" his death would be all the better for everyone!

It took a while for Drunk Old Man's very, very rambling speech to end, but she certainly agreed with the end result of just killing him. Luckily for all, it never came to that, as a more resourceful fellow just thought to shoot him. Really, why didn't Seiga think about that sooner? Maybe she just wasn't used to firearms.

Best of all, it did seem to work wonders. Presumably, the demon could only keep itself in a conscious mind, since he went back to a perfectly normal, if still a bit odd and damaged looking, teenager. She shook her head at Yoshika, a sign to stand down, and said "Well, then! It looks like my services as an exorcist aren't required just yet," she said to the assembled crowd. "I sure can help as a doctor, however. He's still bleeding out."

Ben turned towards the noise he was hearing as Cole suddenly acted up, but before he could react in time, the Militia seemed to stun him with some sort of weird ray gun. At least they didn't just shoot him. He sighed in relief. When Fastanook threatened to lock Rick up, Ben smirked a little bit before looking back towards Eve. "Eve's really hurt too," he pointed out. "Can you guys help her? I don't have any healing aliens.... and I don't know anything about medicine..."

Lune watched as Ben and Rex were striking up a friendly conversation. They talked about various things like the militia and the City Knights. At some point, Rex thought that Eve was Ben's girlfriend or something ridiculous like that. However, Lune just blushed in embarrassment and cleared her throat as Ben could possibly point out that Lune has been hanging out with Rex.

Unfortunately, Cole began freaking out. Rex tried to calm him down, but that just managed to make things completely worse. Rick offered a mercy kill for Cole, but Fastanook turned that idea down and tu. Samson quickly fired and knocked Cole out before things got worse.

The doctor finally showed up. He was flanked by two bodyguards in case he was attacked. Ben asked if the doctor could fix Eve up. Lune had to wait since Eve was obviously more injured than Lune was.

Viola I Library I Well, Crap

... Oh well. It was worth a shot. Somewhere, I knew it would take more than that to out-trick her. At least she still got one of my requests answered, though I wouldn't put it past the librarian to put her own little spin to it.

Rather than be annoyed, I let out a small laugh. I'm not even mad, just impressed.

"You're really fond of wordplay, aren't you?" I said to her even as she typed into her computer. "Fine. I'll concede for today... Though, now that I think about it, you still haven't answered one of my question. Or maybe you did, but it got lost during your explanation, so I'll ask again just to be sure. How do I contact and talk to others with this device the way it's meant to be used?" I waved the radio in front of her. "And this time, I want you to explain it to me in a simple and concise manner, in languages and words that I can completely comprehend. It's kind of important that I know how to do that, in case of emergencies."

I took a glance at the other woman who's confused at our exchange. I don't blame her. "Long story short, the librarian isn't particularly fond of me. If you can't already tell,"

Grocery store

"There, see? So many things are simplified by having a stunner" Samson said, keeping the phaser pistol in hand but not aiming it at anyone in particular. "Anyone else feel like having a freak out and then a nap? We've got plenty to go around" the militia man asked in a faux sarcasm, glancing back and forth at those around before adding, "good, that's what I thought."

The militia man near Eve looked back at Ben now that the situation seemed to be handled. "We're waiting on our doc; I think that's him now" the militia man told Ben, pointing to the airlock where Dave and two other militia members were coming inside.

Meanwhile, Rachel looked to Seiga. "You're a doctor? Thank God" Rachel said with relief, taking a few steps away, shaking her head. She ran a hand through her hair and sighed slightly, then looked at Samson with a solemn expression. "I need to get on the horn to Wells. Can you guys, handle things here?" she asked him, and after he nodded she stepped away a bit farther.

"Wells, come in, this is Rachel. I've got more bad news" Rachel started after grabbing her walkie talkie.

"Bad news? I thought we just had a bunch of good news" Wells' voice said in a slightly confused tone; he was a little out of this particular knowledge loop after all.

"We've got multiple people here saying that even though we stopped the ritual, the demon still came back anyway. Including that weird kid, with the mind reading" Rachel reported.

"WHAT!? But, how?!" Wells' voice asked.

"I-I don't know yet, sir, but..." Rachel trailed off, covering her mouth with the back of her hand holding the walkie talkie, while using her free hand to support herself on the counter of the nearest cash register. She looked like she might pass out from the stress.

Dave and the two other militia members walked in at this point, Dave looking around. "Are these all the injured?" Dave asked, opening up a large bag he was carrying and rifling through the contents, while adding, "who is most heavily injured?"

"I think that would be him" Samson answered, pointing to Cole. Then he looked to Fastanook and the other militia members present. "Guys, let's see about letting the civvies finally get out of here, and make sure everything stays orderly" he suggested to the others, who with nods of agreement moved towards the airlocks.

As it was becoming more and more evident that the emergency situation was over, a lot of the civilians were starting to come out of hiding and move towards the front airlocks, clearly hoping to get out with whatever prizes of food supplies they still cared enough to carry. The militia members started directing people to line up and not get pushy or rush; the airlocks could only go one load of people at a time after all, and everybody just trying to pile out all at once would make things go even slower than if they just waited patiently. (Or worst case scenario, end up with some people getting spaced before they could get an OSFA suit on.)

Library

Miss Tairee gave a more genuine, accomplished smile, and looked to Viola. "You see where I work, and see my name, yes? Wordplay comes with the job. I suppose I'll cancel the parrot then" Miss Tairee said, hitting a few keys and then the delete key prominently. "I didn't tell you how to communicate with others using that, because you can't. Again, I went by what you said exactly, and gave you a device that only listens" the librarian went on, typing a bit more on the computer.

With a quick blur, the handheld radio disappeared, and a walkie talkie identical to the others Miss Tairee had given out so far appeared in front of Viola in its stead. "Just hold down the button on the side when you want to talk. Oh, and with this one, instead of a switch to turn it off, it turns off when you lower the volume knob all the way" Miss Tairee explained simply and concisely to Viola.

Kelsey still seemed very confused. "A parrot?- no, nevermind. Why would you not like a little girl?" Kelsey asked Miss Tairee, stepping forward.

Miss Tairee looked to her with a fairly blank, still slightly friendly expression. "I can't think of any young girls I've met that I've genuinely disliked" Miss Tairee answered her.

Kelsey's face scrunched up a bit, and she uttered a simple, "huh?" She nearly began to speak further, looking like she was about to get a bit pushy or accusatory with the librarian, but Miss Tairee cut her off.

"There, the tea party is prepared, exactly like the other day" Miss Tairee told Viola, and indeed over on some tables halfway across the lobby, the same setup of various dishes and pots and tea bags and snacks all appeared again. Then Miss Tairee looked at Kelsey. "Now miss, have you decided what you're going to do yet? Will you be needing weapons and armor befitting for your blood god? Or something else? Perhaps you would like to enjoy some tea and cakes if you've not yet decided" the librarian asked of her. The question caught Kelsey quite unprepared, though one part in particular seemed to catch her attention and suddenly make her stand up a bit straighter.

"Cakes?" Kelsey muttered, with an expression like a squirrel that just caught sight of a large hunting dog.

Little restaurant where people are hiding, plus Plague Knight's bar, plus Miss Tairee's desk, plus somewhere in every other building...

Channel 94 had been going for a while with the two men quietly discussing possible music to put on, when suddenly they spoke up about something. "Woah wait a minute, Adam are you hearing what's coming from the militia channel right now?" Jeff's voice asked.

"Yeah but I kinda wish I wasn't..." Adam's voice muttered in return.

"Shit, at times like this we need like, that emergency broadcast beeping tone. Actually I think we might be able to do something like that" Jeff's voice said, along with the noise of him fumbling around with some equipment.

"Jeff, seriously?" Adam's voice asked.

"Uh, right, we'll see about that another time. So uh, to anybody and everybody who happens to be listening, we just heard that there is a demon now on the loose. The demon has some connection to Ruckus; I've heard only bits and pieces about this because we've been kind of holed up in this radio station for the last few days" Jeff's voice announced to all their listeners.

"You know if we were back home I'd figure this is all like a stupid prank or some crazy person talk, but given we had a chat with a walking cephalopod the other day, plus other shit I've seen in this city, I'm willing to bet it's probably the real deal. Um, I'm gonna, see if I can't like, call somebody, maybe the militia, and see if we can't get a description of this demon, so we can warn everybody what to look out for" Adam's voice added in.

"If anybody wants to help and has some kind of radio to talk with, contact us on channel 93. Not this channel, not 94, because it'd get too crowded on here if you did that" Jeff's voice suggested.

With Garrett

"Nice work." He took a seat with Garrett as he looked at the items he secured. "Hopefully it's still edible."

The assassin listened to the incoming broadcast. "Looks like we got some hints on the incoming trouble we're expecting, even with a channel to make contact with the other party.

He turned around and asked the civilians. "Does anyone have some kind of comm device or something?"

Restaurant

Garrett's eyes narrowed as he heard the news on the radio. "The 'Lord of Change' is back?" he muttered. "Great, just what we needed. ...I wonder how the psychic kid is doing..."

Viola I Library I Tea Tim- Oh, Wait

"Hmm? What's the matter? Would you care to join me?" spoke Viola when she turned and looked at Kelsey's odd, fearful expression. Now how could that be, I wonder? Of all the things that she experienced within the City and she's terrified by cakes?

Shrugging, I was about to go and get on to my usual seat on the table before stopping. "Oh, right. I almost forgot. Miss Tairee, can I have a book about Qing'e? You know, the one about Seiga's previous life. And worry not, I already have her permission to look through her biography, so you don't have to concern yourself with intruding upon her privacy. Unless you want the Hermit herself to confirm it to you first before doing that, which is fine by me,"

"... Oh, and I would also liked an in-depth book from Seiga's world about beings known as an immortal hermit such as herself, and how to become one. Or at the very least, the closest equivalent to it, if no such thing exist," I still have yet to really think deeply about her offer and, while I do think the hermit is being honest enough with me, it couldn't hurt to learn more about this curious subject, could it?

Grocery Store — Close encounters of the microscopic kind

Yoshika didn't appreciate Rex's intervention and explained that she needed to fix it. "That's exactly what I'm trying to do" Her "master" chimed in, trying to convince the teen to let her lackey do keep Cole in place since, apparently, she could exorcise him.

"Yeah, sure. Let's try that when run out of options"

The green glowing spirit accused Rex of not caring about his state. At least only in the selfish kind. Cole felt he saw him as a liability and even went as far as to blame him for the demon's resurrection, arguing that they had found a use for him. Someone had just lost his marbles.

"Uh, excuse me? I got shot trying to stop him from coming back. Do you think I enjoyed that? And you know I'm the last person here that would want to use someone else as a weapon"

Tensions were rising now that Rick had proposed killing Cole to eal with his demonic form and the militia dog-thing responded by threatening to imprison him in return. Rex tried to keep a fight from breaking out and placed his other mechanical arm between the two.

"No one is killing anyone"

Luckily, on of the militia members suggested a non-lethal gun and shot at Cole before anyone could do anything. The spirit went down without a fight. Rex was glad that had been taken care of without any casualties but he didn't like that the militia guy hadn't given him a chance to fix things more peacefully.

"Dude, come on, I was this close to talking him down" So, Cole had been taken care of and the doctor had arrived. There was nothing Rex could help with right now. Eve, on the other hand, could use some help while she waited for her turn. "Whatever, there is something else I have to take care of right now"

Rex walked to the cash register counter and observed the situation. He was a bit nervous. Technically he had done this hundred of times in the past but these were completely different machines. Regardless, it was time to see if they were compatible with his powers. After all, nanites were nanites, right? He could talk to them.

"Let's hope her version of nanites are willing to cooperate"

He pressed his hands on her body trying to see if her nanomachines were anything like the ones back in her world and, most importantly if he could guide them to her wounds. Maybe speed up the process somehow. Or at least just relieve her pain.

Damage Assessment

"Actually it is because I often work with and produce extremely dangerous concoctions, and I prefer if no one move to avoid a risk of contamination," Plague Knight explained to X. The knight walked over to Twilight and looked at the glass shard she levitated. "Okay, good, the palsy bacteria already had the air born inhibitor added....." he said, taking down some notes.

Thankfully, Plague Knight managed to hide his notes quite well, so those at least were spared destruction by whatever miscreants trashed his laboratory. The alchemist was seething in white hot fury as he calmly checked inventory, and those responsible will face terrible vengeance in the future when he found out who they were, but right now he sense of professionalism was stronger than his need to panic at the moment. Seeing the sapling safe at least contributed much to his mental fortitude.

Before he went into the kitchen, he heard the radio broadcasting. The alchemist remember that he left it inside the restaurant the day before. A rather stupid mistake in retrospect. Apparently the two hosts of this "radio" show, Adam and Jeff mentioned about the Ruckus causing trouble and a demon -

"Oh no," Plague Knight said. He bolted straight into the kitchen. He scanned the room, seeing everything here was completely untouched, with all the food and utensils in place, with the only change being the oven -

The wide open oven. Completely empty. Devoid of his homemade clay explosives.

"Oh no", the alchemist said, panic rising up again.

He bolted back into the main room. "We have to get back to the library immediately!" Plague Knight told the others. "I think the Ruckus stole all the clay explosives I replicated!"

Grocery Store

"Well." Rick stared down at Cole's body and lightly nudged him with his foot to make sure that the kid was out of it, then took a long swig from his flask. He paused only to grab a discarded shopping bag off a nearby counter and shoved the rest of the alcohol and dangerous alien tech in the incongrouously primitive-looking satchel.

"W-well, that was a *urp* that was a real anticlimax," he observed.

"Huh. Yeah." agreed Morty as he picked up a bag of chips off the floor and popped them open. "You'd... y-you think that... th-there'd be... you know, a-a-a big... boss fight, you know, w-we'd have to stop Cole....monster, a-and it'd be all real dark and dramatic and - and character-revealing and... stuff. Huh. Well-" he concluded.

"-well I guess we saved the day, Morty. T-that's right. W-*urp*-we saved the day. You and me, Rick and Morty, t-the dream team. Me, and you, Rrrrick and Morty, and uh, Ben," he offered a high-five to the brown-haired superhero, "a-and... whatever your name is, blue-haired chick," a high-five, "...and you, uh, *urp* zombie girl, you did it, good job, we won." Another high five.

"Well, yeah, y-" Morty's brain stammered into reverse as his brain caught up with his ears. "W-wait, what? Th-though-y-y-you didn't do anything, Rick!" Rick ignored his grandson's protests as he surveyed what had once been a thriving outer-space grocery store - a store that had just experienced a violent spat of gang warfare, a brief hostage situation, the temporary loss of gravity, a few minor explosions, and most heinously of all, the destruction of the hallowed shelf symmetry.

This was not, at the moment, a happy grocery store.

"You know," observed Rick to the group and the members of the militia, taking another thoughtful sip from his flask as he thought things over, "I could *urp* I could really go for some Chinese takeout right now. I-i-i-is there- is there, like, a Chinese restaurant we could, you know, hit up?" He glanced around the grocery store, but alas there were no woks, bamboo steamers, or takeout counters to be found.

"I mean -" he observed to the group, "hYYURGHpothetical question *urp* here c-could I, you know, w-write to the, the author guy? A-and ask for a Chinese restaurant as like, you know, o-one of those, those boss battle rewards you people are always *urp* always goin' on about?"

"Christ, Rick, this isn't-"

"It's a hypothetical here, *urp* Morty, I'm just - I'm just spitballin' ideas here. But man I could really go for some fried rice or something. Maybe some lemon chicken."

Grocery Store, Triage at Noon
"Seiga, how can I help?"

Having taken her share of the wide array of medical supplies, Seiga set about to work on the unconscious body of Cole. Even if he was possibly still possessed, it couldn't hurt to try and figure out if humans are the same on the inside, in all universes. Seiga replied "No," like usual, and Yoshika made a loud harumph as she sat behind her.

Even if this troll of a doctor probably didn't need any help, forcing yourself into important situations for credit and fun is always the best option. And besides, she was perfectly good at it. While her expertise was with corpses (and she hadn't had a medical license since the Ming Dynasty), the principles between operating on a dead body and a living one were the same.

She set about to work, beginning the long process of surgery on someone who had a few bullets ungratefully take residence in their torso, and ignored Rick's babbling outright. Yoshika, however, walked over and reciprocated Rick's high five with enthusiasm, before returning to her seated position.

Eun (Grocery Store) - Nap Time

Even though the sudden incident with the boy was settled as quickly as it had originated, not giving me time to even draw my own weapon, it still caused me to ponder the whole event for a moment. So Ara was not the only one who had to deal with that kind of situation back home. But at the same time, it was not quite the same.

It was quite curious indeed.

Nevertheless, there would be more time to learn about that; but since Ara would be waking up soon, and seeing that my services would no longer be required, I decided to take the opportunity to rest for some time. I lied down on the floor, closed my eyes, and immediately stopped controlling Ara's body. Her hair returned to its normal black color, and she instantly shifted around to her side, still peacefully asleep, and clinging to her spear like a child would cling to their favorite toy.

Part of me wondered what she was dreaming about.
