Sans and Yael had vanished out of the building, and with that Cole knew that at the very least, there wouldn't be any ritual going on now involving the people inside. That was a relief at the very least, and the threatening explosive was gone as well.

However, he had no idea how to tell the others that their mission had been a success. He didn't know how to use the walkie-talkie, but...

Rex. Rex was watching, wasn't he? Sans had told him to stay hidden, but the danger was gone now, wasn't it? And the Ruckus members seemed distracted. He should be all right.

There was a green wisp of smoke as Cole reappeared, still in the air thanks to the lack of gravity, and he looked around for a second, unaware of a thin bit of blood from his nose as he tried to figure out where or how to signal.

Now that he'd let his power go, he was aware of how...tired he was. He had only used this trick on other people very rarely and very sparingly, and it had been extremely difficult even before he became more human. His head felt...foggy, heavy, hard to describe, and even as dark and black as things were today, dark and lonesome outside, it felt as though it were getting darker somehow.

Anyone watching would have only seen Cole flicker back into sight, looking exhausted and almost injured, before abruptly lapsing into unconsciousness, still floating in the air near where he and Sans had appeared. He had told them his power would be draining, and he had definitely shown that.

Eve| Roof

They hadn't opened the doors. This was a bad sign. Eve mentally rehearsed what she would say if they turned out to be Ruckus. She also prepped a transformation in case they didn't fall for it. A hammer, as her default might puncture her suit.

Which would be bad.

Raising her hand she knocked again, 10 times.

Grocery Store Front

At the pilot's signal, Jack nodded and crawled part way down his staff before unhooking it. This left him a bit further back from the airlock and in a good position to use his powers. Slowly, to not upset his balance, he brought Twinetender up.

A wave of crackling blue energy erupted from the crook of the staff, and where it struck above the airlock, thick ice began to quickly form. He began to draw a large circle around it, building a quickly growing cylinder. So concentrated on putting as much magic into the staff as quickly as possible, Jack didn't notice that the force of it was slowly starting to push him away.

Outside a Grocery Store, The Game Is Afoot
With their being spotted, Operation Hostage Crisis (lacking any better title) was a go! The duo moved into position for insertion as Jack started to form his ice ring, Yoshika safely in front of Seiga. They waited, Seiga calm and Yoshika far too excited, for the barrier to fully form.

Looking back, the hermit noticed that their barrier-man was starting to float away, and doubting that this was recommended for their plan she immediately floated over to his side. Seiga grabbed him by his shoulder and lightly pushed him onto the ground, and pointed down to emphasize what happened. In doing so, she got a good look behind her, noticing a distant light...and not paying much heed to it, because she had much more important things to do than worry about random space phenomena.

Trash Chute — After the crescendo, fortissimo

"Sans saved the day" Rex couldn't believe what he was saying not only because of who had pulled it off but also because he didn't think the bomb problem would end as well as it had "He actually did it!"

There was something else that caught his attention. He saw Cole becoming visible again. And he didn't look like that healthy... or conscious.

"And Cole needs help! Come on, guys" he said, cracking his neck "It's showtime"

Wanting to take care of the biggest number of Ruckus members at once and not intending to let them spot him before they could harm anyone, Rex built both his fists and made them spin, acting as improvised drills. He pressed them on the wall of the tunnel, aiming to reach the front of the store by bursting through it.

Grocery Store Front

A touch on his shoulder jolted Jack out of his focus, his magic ceasing. The blue-haired woman had pushed him back down to the ground, pointing at it for emphasis. He blinked, then looked around in mild surprise. He was further back than when he had started. Apparently his powers were able to propel him back so long as he was in space. Huh, he hadn't expected that.

With a grin and a nod of thanks, the spirit gestured for Seiga to move back closer to the airlock. Then he spun, and with a flick of his staff, created a small wall of ice anchored to the ground. Turning back to the airlock, he planted his back against the wall and went back to quickly forming the ice cap. Once done, it would leave the people in it with enough space to stand on either side of the airlock door, and come all the way back to where he was currently floating.

Space ship - Back in action

A long time passed with seemingly not much, at least not anything immediately noticable from where she was watching, happening. On one hand, that meant that no one had set off Ruckus and caused to trigger the bomb. On the other hand, it was impossible to know if something else equally bad, if not worse, was ocurring. Could the sacrifice ritual be already happening despite everyone's efforts

After a while, she finally noticed something, not further down at the grocery story, but rather in outer space. Suddenly, Sans and someone else, who she then identified as the current leader of Ruckus, blinking not too far from her position. Then an instant later, Sans disappeared again and reappeared further from his opponent.

Then, just as suddenly, he vanished one more time and then the Ruckus leader also vanished a moment later. It was rather disorieting to watch and she wondered just what was going.

Then she heard a yell from Sans nearby, callling to her. She turned around and not too far off from her position, she spotted both him and the Ruckus leader. Now that they were closer, she could notice that he was holding a container glowing brightly in various color and making a disturbing noise. Have seeing that display before, she could easily identify that as the remains of the Lord of Change. So it seemed that Sans had managed to stop the ritual as well as stopping the bomb thread.

She lost no time doing what he asked, quickly casting her summoning spell. The walls of the ship were made of metal, so that made the process of shaping up chains much easier than have to summon them entirely. Once they wer ready, she had the chains lunged to Yael's current position . She would then attempt to have them wrapped around him and then tie him around him on the wall they had emerged from. If the container had been separated from him in the meantime, she would have another set reach for it and then hold it down on the floor.

The grocery store, outside the back

After a couple of minutes of banging on the wall, nothing seemed to happen aside from Jackson leaving his post. Four Arms looked disinterested. When it seemed Jackson had gone, he pressed the button on his chest and there was a red flash, the suit shifting with a bizarre feeling as he turned back into Ben. He shook his head

He waited for a few moments before the Omnitrix turned green again, then he cycled through it until he found a certain amorphous alien. He pressed the button, lighting up the area with green light as Upgrade stood in a now-shifting again suit. He then yanked the suit's helmet off, causing the suit to disappear. He let go of the suit, then palmed the wall until he was at the airlock. Upgrade touched it, merging into it. He poked his singular eye out on the inside edge, trying to see if Jackson was still there or if anyone was watching.

Assuming nothing went wrong during Gon's landing (but of course nothing would), Garrett put on the helmet (with some hesitancy — hadn't gotten used to the strange piece of equipment yet,) then departed from the ship and headed towards the restaurant, entered it and tried to ascertain if there was a huge crowd inside.

Woohoo! Sans did it! Guess his teleportation skills were handy again. For a guy who is just bones and a nice jacket, Sans definitely lucked out in the power lottery, huh? Although, a watch that turns a person into a smaller version of their personal mecha sounds pretty awesome too. Ryusei Date would probably give up an arm to get one that lets him turn into the SRX.

However, Rex said that Cole desperately needed some backup and used his nanomachines to get the drop on those dirty cult members. Rex proceeded to drill his way to the front of the store and Lune started following Rex through the hole.

Outer Space - Glad that's dealt with.

X gave a thumbs up and boosted over to the ships.

Suffice to say the shuttles were small but looked like they had more than enough room for various people. The problem came with the fact that both were fairly broken down wasn't going to help. X could probably preform some minor repairs, the technology wasn't too foreign to him, Dr. Light had repaired a alien robot before and X had files of various robot masters of stranger existence.

The Judge - The Space Between Couch Cushions - Wondering When He Can Be Important

As the strange cat continued to cling onto the robot for dear life, he had to ask himself exactly when he could finally allow himself to speak. He hadn't been able to communicate with anyone or anything without simple, dumb gestures. Perhaps he should have stayed inside the first station. Maybe this was all a test, and he failed, and because of that, the Batter was going to destroy the world.

He pushed that thought away. If he was still alive, then maybe the Batter hadn't flipped the switch. Maybe he had a sudden change of heart. Maybe he couldn't. Maybe the Judge was within the confines of his own mind, an idea he had explored before, and time just moved exponentially slower than in the real world. There were a million possibilities, but he didn't dare try to assess each and every one of them. His brain hurt enough with the automatic intake of oxygen this suit gave him. He spotted a number on his wrist that was slowly counting down from 43:10. He showed it to the robot, attempting to get him to hurry up.

Meanwhile, at a restaurant

Garrett and Gon would find the place to be, while not really 'crowded', definitely far from empty. An assortment of random civvies were there, just hanging out and for the most part listening to a little radio. These were people who had decided that with the need for food covered by being inside a restaurant, they really didn't need to risk venturing out into space today. This seemed to be how a lot of the random civvies spent most of the non-break days; they just got what food they needed and then found some place to hunker down and remain out of the way until the next day.

Grocery store front area, and then people started dying

"I think they must be trying to break in somehow" the Ruckus member blocking the airlock door mentioned.

"You think?" the other Ruckus member scoffed, then noticed Cole flickering into visibility. "What? Wait, I know this guy..." he trailed off, pushing off a register counter to get over to Cole and grab the unconscious spirit.

"Hey! HEY! You see this!? You better back off!" the Ruckus member then yelled towards the airlock, pulling Cole around into view and pressing his gun up against Cole's helmet. "You come through there and his brains are gonna be-" he was then interrupted as a spray of gunfire sounded off from the produce section, and his head took multiple rifle bullets, promptly no longer being a head.

The remaining Ruckus member turned around, surprised, and promptly started shooting back at where the armor wearing man was taking cover, forcing him to move. There was screams going through the store now.

Outside, Thomas was silently screaming out loud in his helmet, while Nails, Rachel, and the militia pilot all got their phaser pistols ready. The pilot in particular quickly and lightly bopped Seiga in the arm to get her attention, then pointed impatiently at the airlock door in front of them.

A bit farther back in the store, starting in a garbage chute

"Alright! Time to- Woah hey what are you doing?!" Fastanook's celebration was halted as Rex made his fists and started boring straight through a chunk of the building, shortcutting through the other garbage tunnels and other important looking cables and such. The freezer section's freezing abruptly halted, but of more immediate concern was how Rex missed tearing Rick into a chunky salsa by only half a foot or so.

Rex then burst out into the main shopping area, in the back near the freezers he'd just disabled. He'd created an awful racket doing this, and the civvies around had already scattered by the time Rex was coming out of the floor, at a slight angle.

The two Ruckus members who had been going towards the front from the vital systems area however, were instead drawn right towards the noise. No sooner had Rex burst into the room with Lune right behind him, that the two both took a hail of submachinegun fire into their backs from above; specifically from the ceiling, which the two Ruckus members were standing upsidedown on to brace as they opened fire.

Grocery store, rear airlock area

Ben's stopping of his banging on the wall seemed to confuse Tuudol, but the wood elf waited and let Ben continue with his own thing. By the time he had gotten to go Upgrade and merge into the airlock, Jackson was already coming back around the corner, a bored expression on his face- until he saw Upgrade's eye that is. "Oh hey!" Jackson said, flashing Upgrade a smile and then bringing his pistol up and flashing a more literal flash with a quick ping! noise from the gun. Whether or not that successfully blinded Upgrade, Jackson then gleefully started shooting the area of the airlock that Upgrade was merged with.

Shuttle floating above the grocery store

A bit more time passed, even after Eve's continued knocking, but then finally the door opened. The man she'd seen through the small window, a two headed ogre, an elf, and a kobold all looked at her through their OSFA suit helmets; near the controls, the sangheili was in his own personal armor suit. All had some gun in hand but weren't aiming them at Eve; though they were eying her with clear suspicion.

Spaceship, gotta tumble if you want to rumble

Yael seemed to be handling the sudden changes in gravity even better than Sans would be, having already planted his feet on the floor, adjusted to suddenly going from a place with no gravity to this ship with standard gravity; he finished drawing his gun and was just turning around to face Sans when the skeleton was yelling to Caro and grabbed his soul to fling him sideways towards a wall.

Of course, Yael seemed to adjust to this on the fly as well, less falling towards the wall and more sliding along the floor towards it. Seeing Caro casting her spell and the area of the wall he was headed towards starting to sprout sudden chains, Yael suddenly kicked off the floor, jumping him upwards and landing with a somersault onto the wall in what was, to Sans and Caro, upwards. Finishing the somersault by standing up,note  Yael swung his pistol up and fired four rounds.

The first three went to Caro's chest, clustered right in the middle; the fourth went to Fried's right eye. The gun in question was a fairly unassuming looking pistol, albeit quite shiny and chrome, with a blue laser sight that Yael used to make sure the bullets were right on target. The bullets were only 10mm, but they did surprisingly explode on impact, with little bursts almost as big as a tennis ball; of course the real danger was less from the blasts themselves and more the force of it and the tiny bits of shrapnel from the rest of the bullet.

On the plus side, the glowing of the container was starting to dim, and with it the whispering of the damned got quieter.

Eve| Floating in Space

Eve looked at the inhabitants of the shuttle and waved awkwardly. She had hoped that there would be air in the shuttle, so that she could talk to them, but without it she just had to do the best she could. She begun gesturing quickly and purposefully.

First she pointed down below her note , then to the door of the spaceship note . Then she raised her arms in a generic any idea? gesture.

Hopefully that worked.

The grocery store, rear airlock

Jackson tried to blind him. Unfortunately for Jackson, Ben had grown wise to Ruckus's favorite tactic and he moved his single eye away from the direction of the gun for the time being.

"Not this time, dweeb! Such lousy fighters that you can't play fair? Wow, you really do stink!" Upgrade shouted, turning his eye back towards Jackson, releasing himself from the airlock and flinging himself in Jackson's direction as Jackson began to fire his pistol. He formed himself so that there was a hole in his center, so that hopefully the bullets would pass right through. If he could reach Jackson, he would attempt to interface with Jackson's gun and either disable it or destroy it so Jackson couldn't use it.

If he managed to slime up Jackson to keep him immobilized for the time being, that worked too.

Outside and Inside a Grocery Store, Tacti-cool Insertion
It's not like she needed to be told a second time that it was time to get in! Seiga hurriedly nodded and got right up at the door, levitating Yoshika so that she was laid out flat in the air. Then, not waiting for the customary thumbs up from the underling, she took out her hairpin and quickly traced a hole just large enough to get Yoshika's shoulder's through. Seiga slammed the jiangshi through against the sudden burst of air, and then closed the hole as soon as she was in by tapping it with the other end of the pin.

Now that Yoshika was inside, harmlessly bouncing on the offending shelf because Seiga wasn't exactly counting inertia into place, our hero ended up floating parallel to the shelf. Even if she was the kind of person who had flown quite a lot, it was briefly disorienting to see it like this.

Only briefly, however, because Yoshika had her head on tight today! With as much grace as her rigored body could afford, she righted herself and grabbed on the shelf, bracing against the airlock and pulling up with all of her might!

Waspinator screamed as he was launched via catapult into space by the protohumans. He rolled over and over, before finally slowing to a stop. Well, more like lose the Earth's gravity. Sadly, he was Waspinator, and thus, fate used him as a chew toy every now and then. And this time, it sent him somewhere else entirely. A weird, floating balcony. In space. Waspinator looked around, confused. "Where is Wassspinator now?"

Shuttle above the grocery store

The various species looking at Eve still seemed fairly confused; the two headed ogre glanced his right head at the man and then motioned at Eve. The man didn't seem certain what the ogre was getting at either until he made a grabbing motion with his hand.

The man, frowning, put his gun away and carefully pulled himself over to Eve, then grabbed at her arm to pull her inside the shuttle. Over at the controls, with nobody else looking his way, the Sangheili sneakily turned around and started pressing buttons for something.

Wander and Sylvia followed along, looking around curiously at the old space junk.

"Pretty advanced, but I've seen better," Sylvia commented. "Wonder if I could fix it up a bit...?"

Grocery Store

As Rex and Lune entered the grocery store for real this time, a pair of Ruckus members shot them in the back. For Lune, the Valsione armor took some of the brunt of that attack. It still stung like hell, though. However, that was not as bad as Sans's bone attack. That didn't cause any injuries, but it hurt her somehow.

Lune looked around for pair of gunmen who ambushed them. As it turned out, they were using the lack of gravity to launch a sneak attack on the duo. Firing the bee gun would be pointless since the bees would be just as vulnerable as Lune and Rex to the no gravity situation. It would take forever to summon her Hyper Beam Cannon. Finally, charging up the Cross Smasher would leave her further vulnerable.

Keeping these facts in mind, Lune quickly retaliated by sending the razor sharp Cross Saucer drones at the duo. Despite the earlier gunshot wounds, Lune was able to focus on guiding the Cross Saucers to the floating duo. Hopefully, this action would disarm the duo before it was too late.
