After presumably being left on Zelda's makeshift bed, Sans kept sleeping but he also didn't seem to be comfortable at all. He kept shifting around on the bed and occasionally muttering stuff that would be too difficult for her to make out any what he was saying. Eventually, however, he finally said something clearly enough.
"kid... c'mon... leave her alone," he said, sounding rather nervous.
With each passing moment Sans was getting more and more tense and eventually he even started looking like he was in actual pain.
Eve|Leviathan Battle
Eve had been slightly behind the others, and therefore got there a little later than them. She saw Rex go flying, but also noticed Twilight go flying to catch him. To use wings with another transformation, even something as simple as nanocutters might exhaust her more than she could afford. She saw someone that she didn't recognise hitting the monster with a hammer, and decided that that was probably the best way to go. Momentum was her friend.
Eve flew about 50 metres into the air above the Leviathan, idly noticing that the City was now a sphere and that her height didn't affect her oxygen intake. Knowing the landing would probably kill her (not that that was a problem here), or break all the bones in her body and cause her to drown, she formed a hammer with her hair and let herself drop, aiming for main body of the robotic monster, using her wings to help her aim.

[TOP SECRET]With Plague Knight and Thomas's conversation, Lucas found a way he could help finally. He knew that breaking a hole in the Leviathen was in everyone's best interest, so Lucas used Offense Up on Plague Knight. If the regular explosive wasn't enough, hopefully a boosted one would be.
Why is a yam attacking me?"You haven't been to the library?" Nails guessed after Jack's question. "There's a reality warping librarian there, and she's gotta help whoever asks. She's got limits but I'm pretty sure she can heal people" the militia member explained the quick and crude version without going into details.
Cole's comment without much else context got one of the bystanders to look at him in confusion. "You're hurt too? You look fine" the bystander said, leaning in to look closer at Cole's arm.
"Uh, no he's talking about her. He's a mind reader" Nails stepped in and answered for Cole, pointing to Kelsey. Then he added to the two who were trying to bandage Kelsey up, "focus on her stomach and arm."
Then Morty started screaming about how Kelsey would respawn and about the leviathan outside in the distance. Plenty of the people in the establishment looked at him when he said this, most of them looking uncertain, a few looking a bit annoyed, and fewer still looking very confused and worried; those last being those who did not yet know about the respawning. Nails looked over and lowered his eyebrows, thinking for a moment, then frowning deeply, and walked up to the teen. "Oh I'm sorry kid, I didn't know that trying to save a dying woman would offend your sensibilities! Let me just step outside really quick and kill the giant monster with my nine millimeter gun!" Nails yelled at Morty sarcastically, then continued yelling but in a more serious tone, "there's fuck all we can do about that shit right now! So unless you want to argue with the people helping her about mercy killing her, how about you stay out of the way and shut up!"
Trying to ignore the yelling, one of the two guys bandaging Kelsey looked over to Jack. "Okay, it might be okay to move her now... I think. You said you could fly her? Can you do that gently?" the man asked the winter spirit.
Miss Tairee glanced over at Rick with a mostly neutral, ever so slightly dulled expression, then started typing on her holographic screen. After a few moments, a rubber hose, two bottles of pure water, and a monkey wrench appeared on a table near Rick. During this time Miss Tairee walked over and stood herself just a few feet inside the revolving doors that faced towards the leviathan fight.

You are reading this.John's hammer worked as advertised and hold the Leviathan in place long enough for Rex to make its eye flicker after having hit it with one of his builds.
"Oh, didn't see that coming? You shouldn't have hurt my fr—Whoa!"
Rex couldn't say anything else as the behemoth suddenly changed direction and attacked him.
The whole speed and weight of that thing focused on one of its claws packed quite the punch. Even for the guy that regularly tanked hits that destroyed walls, the sheer power of the crustacean was enough to do some serious damage to his bones and internal organs.
Rex fell in an arc against the ocean with his wings falling apart behind him. Luckily, the city didn't have to deal with pesky things like corpses and, so, his body disappeared just a few seconds after hitting the water. At that height, it was basically like hitting concrete. Not a pretty sight for anyone near the scene.
Waking up from something that should have killed you—and in this case, actually had—was something Rex was a little familiar with. For all intents and purposes, it was nothing but good. The pain was gone, he didn't feel as tired or hungry, and he could think more clearly now that the Leviathan was probably miles away from him.
Only downside was, you know, remembering your death an all. Something teenagers—and really, no one—should have to go through. But that's what jokes are good for.
"Ugh, I can't wait to leave this city once an for all"
Another downside? Emotional stress means problems with trying to use your powers. He would have to walk for now instead of relying on his bike.
"Come on Rex, pull yourself together. Maybe Providence already thought of a way to bring me home. Doc is really smart, she could figure something out" Rex's mind shifted from his recent death to how attractive Holiday was "Yeah, I bet she's really worried about me"
With his new found confidence, product of his teenage hormones, Rex tried to call the ones that were still fighting the Leviathan. Unfortunately, his whole contacts list was deleted and he couldn't even contact the walkie-talkies.
"Huh, déjà vu"
As he turned around the corner, Rex saw a familiar fish-man laying unconscious on the floor "Ben?" and a less familiar one-eyed purple ghost fighting against the spider droids.
"You!"

Curly started charging the Spur again as soon as the previous shot ended, and growled in frustration at the lack of damage. But she barely had time to do react otherwise before it tried to crush her and she activated her booster to jump to the side and up and towards the creature's shoulder, fortunately it froze for some reason, and she took the opportunity in passing to fire on the now cracked eye even though her weapon only had enough charge for a level one shot.
The stone monstrosity started moving again before she could land and twisting as well, she jumped and boosted off again as soon as her feet hit rock in an attempt to make it to the Library, or whatever the nearest dry landing place was and then briefly look for another platform to jump to.

"You!"
Ghostfreak looked towards the sound he heard as the spider drones threatened to overwhelm him. The robotic boy that Tennyson was acquainted with.
"You stay out of this, boy! This is between me and Tennyson! And I will not be trifled with by the likes of you!" With that, he used his tentacles, which had been tossing aside crushed spider drones and tossed one of the spider drones in Rex's direction, before glaring at him and continuing to fight and keep him and the unconscious Ben safe from the spiders.
I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.Ghostfreak told Rex to not interfere since the current situation didn't concern him.
"Sorry, I'm not too good at following orders"
Rex didn't know if the alien shared Ben's memories or not but he had an ace in the hole regardless of that. Only Lune knew of his new build and, as such, Ghostfreak was about to be caught off guard. And that's not even taking into account that maybe Ghostfreak didn't know Rex could build more than his metallic hands.
The one-eyed creature grabbed one of the robots and sent it in Rex's direction. The teen, on his part, built two giant nunchucks and moved one, crushing the spider drone against the ceiling. He then proceeded to rotate them and make them clash together, sending an energy wave in the ghost's direction.
Ghostfreak's eye turned wide as Rex proceeded to crush the spider he had tossed at Rex. When Rex sent the energy wave at Ghostfreak, he was caught off guard, snarling as he was whacked against the wall with a metallic clang. This ruckus was enough to make the spider drones back off from the two fighting.
"Insolent child! You have no idea who you are dealing with!" Ghostfreak exclaimed, recovering and lunging towards the EVO, claws and tentacles at the ready to lash out at Rex.

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither."Oh, yeah, this should help," Ara stated with a deep bow. "Thank you very much."
With that said, she turned around to pick up her new outfit, and headed to a secluded spot upstairs to get dressed in her new outfit. And, while she was at it, to see if she could find some book that could teach her how to properly set up the metal cylinder she had been given alongside the suit.
Library — Top floor
All the time, Garrett was watching the combat through the windows. He winced visibly and blanched when he saw Rex killed violently by the creature. "Damn." It was not a pleasant sight, even with non-permanent death.
He registered Viola and Seiga entering the top floor, but he was too far away from them, and too focused on the ongoing fight, to hear what they were talking about.
Sophie was wrong: the creature wasn't as big as the Rockgagong. It was much bigger.
The creature... or rather, machine's strength was incredible* , and it was surprisingly fast, given its sheer size. It only helped her and Curly that it suddenly paused mid-attack, giving them both enough time to dodge it in their respective ways. Alas, Sophie didn't have the mobility Curly's jetpack provided, so she had to settle with leaping a considerable distance backwards onto a nearby sailboat, then repeating the leap several more times along other abandoned boats as the machine's claw resumed its attack, demolishing the pier they had been on moments ago.
That pause... was that because of that 'clang' I heard? Sophie thought as she made one last leap onto another pier, unfortunately separating her from Curly's new position. Its joints appear considerably less-armored than the rest of it... She darted off running in the general direction Curly was heading, hoping to get close enough to, at the minimum, shout her theory out - though she did worry about drawing the machine's attention towards them again before they were ready to react.

Lune's fire on the leviathan, much like Curly's before, managed to darken and do little damage to the bits of its stone-like shell that she hit, but also like Curly's the overall effect on the leviathan seemed to be absolutely nil. But once again it got its attention, and it swiveled enough to point its head that way and joined the tentacles on its face together with crackling, blue energy, the runes along its body glowing the same hue and conjoining at its head. To Caro, given her origin, spotting an opponent charging and about to unleash a ranged attack should be obvious. The leviathan abruptly halted again, but still for only a moment; then a second later it fired off the blue beam, going right for where Fried was and would still be if Caro didn't take the opportunity to move him. Her own attack was still charging.
At the same time, Curly's shot hit the leviathan's weakened eye, but it was hard to tell at the moment if that had done anything appreciable; as for jumping off it and aiming for another building nearby... There wasn't any. Curly hit the water with an unceremonious plunk and started to sink nearby where Sophie was hopping along boats.
John's previous shot with the small tornado did absolutely nothing; it was like aiming a fan at a mountain made of solid stone, and accomplished the exact same thing. His strike with the second hammer, happening just as the leviathan was unfreezing from the time stop, managed to make an impact mark of cracks in the shell about a meter and a half across or so; which on this thing was like a pimple. Still, he had at least done something, and the bomb that suddenly flew over from the library and hit the leviathan's back did about the same thing; same with Eve's hit on its top, actually somewhat nearby where the bomb exploded. The leviathan, picking a new priority from these attacks, suddenly charged towards the library, its torso suddenly passing by Egbert, and its tail abruptly flicking down to smack him like a far oversized flyswatter as it blazed towards the library and closed quickly. Up on top, Eve would have to find some way to stay on or else she'd get blown off by the momentum and air resistance.
Not realizing the significance of the bomb already being lit, Thomas took a moment to ready himself. "wingardium, wingardium, leviosa, leviosa..." Thomas muttered, trying to remember exactly how it went. Then once he felt he had it, he pointed his wand at the bomb and confidently yelled, "wingardium leviosa!"
The bomb floated gently out of Plague Knight's hand at first, as Thomas slowly raised his wand up and the bomb followed where it was pointing. Then he quickly swung his wand about and pointed it towards the distant leviathan, towards which the bomb flew off like a catapulted projectile. The bomb impacted the leviathan on its back just after it had been halted in place a second time, the distant explosion at this range looking smaller than a lit candle head on the leviathan's back, and was gone to smoke not a moment later. The leviathan turned its attention towards the library and started flying towards the building quickly. Very quickly. Like they had less than ten seconds quickly.
"Everyone on this side of the building should move now" Miss Tairee's voice said sternly as she stood inside the door, typing away on the holographic keyboard; her voice was audible as if through a speaker system both outside and on all the floors above, audible on the side of the library the leviathan was coming from. Thomas, seeing the leviathan charging, wasted no time in following her advice and started running as fast as he could along the boardwalk just outside the library. Inside, Rachel backed away through the lobby, her eyes transfixed on the machine coming towards them.

Okay, so she had certainly gotten its attention. She quickly undid the hammer, as the landing hadn't killed her as she had expected, and she would prefer to stay alive. Feeling the air pressure begin to rise, she formed her nanocutters as quickly as she could, jamming them into the gap between the Leviathan's scales. Once they were jammed in there, she turned the blade into a hook-like shape, so that she had more grip. She undid her wings once she was sure she was in a solid position, then hung there waiting for the air pressure to subside.
[TOP SECRET]Library - Incoming Apocalypse
Zelda, for her part, had been quietly listening to the walkie-talkie and to the sounds of combat going on outside. She was aware of the others present on her floor, but not really paying attention to what they were talking about. She occasionally looked over to Sans just to make sure he was okay, and his increasing levels of discomfort did not go unnoticed.
At first she assumed it was just because of his cushioning, and she did make some adjustments to hopefully alleviate that. It wasn't until she heard his mumbling that she figured out that it was because of a nightmare he was having. Going by what he just said, and going by his own personal history, she decided she'd rather not know what it was about.
She also wasn't entirely sure what to do for him. She had originally planned to just let him sleep, but if his sleep wasn't going to be pleasant maybe she should try waking him up again. Of course, the question was if that nightmare was enough in combination with whatever she tried to wake him up. This was the same skeleton who slept all the way up here, even while being shifted around.
Before she could try anything, Miss Tairee's voice stated that everyone should move right now. She looked up through the windows to see the absolute largest creature she'd ever set eyes on charging towards the library at a speed it had no right to be moving at. For a moment she almost locked up, but quickly shook herself out of it. Her next move was to grab Sans and try to get as far away from the incoming destruction as she could.
She hadn't lifted a lot of heavy things in her life and as such she was clearly struggling to move the skeleton, let alone move him in a comfortable manner. At this point, however, she was more concerned with keeping the both of them alive period rather than either of their personal comfort. For all she knew maybe this would be enough to get Sans up...though a part of her wouldn't be surprised if he slept through this too.

"I'll keep that in mind, Seiga," I answered to her in regards to her servant's capability of keeping secrets. "And where else could we go from the rampaging beast? It was at that moment that the librarian's message was broadcast within our floors. At around the same time I spotted a very huge, very threatening beast coming towards us at ridiculous speed from the relative safety of said library's window.
Oh.
"ActuallynevermindjustgetusoutofthereNOW!" I quickly spoke, grabbing Seiga's hand and attempted to get away from there as quickly as my body could take me.

"Uh, no. I've been to the library," Jack rubbed the back of his head. So Tairee actually could help besides just sitting behind her desk telling people things? And she actually had to as well? Colour him surprised, "I just don't tend to hang around. And me and the librarian don't tend to get along."
"Whoa, whoa. What?" Jack turned to look at Morty with an expression of shock and disbelief. Jack strode towards the teen. "There are people here that want to help, that can help, and you want them to stop? Look, I get that you obviously don't like her or something; But that's just low. And if she did die, what if she ended up back down below again? It could just happen all over again." The spirit pursed his lips. "What would you say, if that was your grandfather lying there? Would it still be not that big of a deal? Is she worth less effort?"
The spirit turned to look at what Morty was pointing at, and his jaw dropped open slightly. "Oh boy..." He breathed out quietly. The thing from the water, apparently a giant lobster thing, was a lot bigger than he had expected. And not only that, it could fly. That was all kinds of unfair. "Ok. So, maybe there is a little bit of a problem. And yeah, it's pretty scary. You're allowed to be afraid. But, it's all the way over there right now, and if it does start moving this way, you won't be facing it alone. You're going to be fine, ok."
It was at this point that Nails came over, and Jack moved over a bit. When he was done, the spirit stepped up to Morty again. He gave the teen a comforting smile, pushing down the small burning anger at his dismissal of death. "He's right, Morty. That," He jerked his thumb out the window, "isn't something most people can do anything about. But, they can help in other ways. Helping save people is one of them, and yelling like you did just makes things worse, really. Just... try to calm down a bit, and think of what you're going to do before you start shouting again, ok."
The winter spirit's attention was caught when one of the people tending to the woman called out to him. With a departing clap on Morty's shoulder, Jack moved off towards the man and the injured woman.
He looked down at the woman, sizing her up. She was almost as tall as him, and wasn't light by any means judging by how it was carrying her up the stairs. On top of that, he'd never flown someone her size before, and wouldn't be able to do it the usual way. He'd have to carry her bridal style, instead.
But, he was confident he could do it, and the wind agreed with him. Once he was in the air, it wouldn’t be a problem. And, if he didn't do something, she didn't have a chance. Jack nodded. "Yeah, I can do that. And the wind will be as gentle as it can be. Thanks for this."
Leaning Twinetender against the edge of the table, Jack bent over and gently slid his arms under the woman. Taking a deep breath, he lifted. The sudden weight pulled heavily on the spirit's thin form, and he fought to keep just how difficult it was to carry her full weight out of his posture. He'd be fine, he could do it. But man, what he wouldn't give to have North's muscles right now. He idly wondered if exercising would actually do anything for him. With a grunt, he shifted her up enough that his right hand was free. He looked at the man and twitched his free hand slightly. "My staff, could you put it in my hand. And help me out the door."
Grimlock; Robot mode
Outside the library; fighting against the defender of the greatest civilization
"Ben!" Grimlock said as he saw the boy get knocked out and plunge underwater.
Now he really wished he could float or even swim. Who knows if Ben was all right. He was about to ask someone to do it for him because of that. But he didn't get much of a chance as the giant monster headed straight for the library. Grimlock didn't Miss Tairee's words to know that. He quickly moved to the side as fast as he could, also attempting to pick up and carry the blonde kid with a striped shirt and the other boy who said some spell earlier with him. At the very least, they might be shielded by his body if he wasn't fast enough.
"You said you had a dream... That dream... Make it come true! ... If anyone can, it's you!" - N (shortened) Oh, and I'm a girl.As the Leviathen charged them, Lucas realized he was done for. There was no way Lucas could get out of the way in time, as he spent the first 4 seconds of leeway he had paralyzed in fear. But then, just as he readied himself for death, something metallic scooped him up from behind and started trying to get out of the beasts path.
The robot's interruption snapped Lucas out of his paralyzed state. He instinctively used Shield on the machine carrying him. With how little time there was, he couldn't do anything else but pray.
Why is a yam attacking me?"Woah woah, easy now" one of the two who had been bandaging Kelsey said, helping get her up into Jack's arms and making sure she was supported. "Try to keep her body as still as possible, and try to refrain from sudden starts, stops, or turns" he instructed Jack as he grabbed Twinetender, flinched and nearly dropped it from how cold it was, then placed it in Jack's free hand.
"Are you really going to be okay out there?" Braston asked, moving to hold the door open while the rest of the crowd in the restaurant parted to give Jack a path.

Garrett's eyes went wide the moment he realized that the monster was speeding towards the library, in fact, towards the side where Garrett was standing. He immediately turned away from the windows and ran to the other side of the top floor as fast as possible, only further spurred by Miss Tairee's announcement.
Leviathan Battle - Down
"rex!" Great, now he was off'd. It looked like this was going to be a tougher fight than he thought. The hammer managed to do nothing but make an impact of cracks on the beast. Wait... what was it doing? Was i-
Suddenly, as John was about to think, he was swatted down by the tail of the Leviathan. It was like getting stabbed in the chest, only with less puncture and more pressure, pressure enough to make John burn in pain. Blood spurted out of his mouth as he descended away from the gigantic ancient creature.
Rero.Cole stayed quiet, watching as Jack spoke to Morty and then seemed to be preparing to get Kelsey and get moving for the library. Suddenly however, the spirit flinched as though struck, hands going to his head and eyes going wide. "Wait! Wait wh-what is...don't go to the library!!"
Anyone who might have been near a door or window or other way to look outside would have seen the Leviathan moving at a high rate of speed in some direction just as Cole was shouting.
"Oh no...no no no no no no who's there who's..."
Cole's eyes went green instantly, the glow alarmingly bright for a moment, and he abruptly went completely still, skin paling somewhat as he seemed to be listening to something. His breathing got a bit faster, hands going over his mouth, as he abruptly dropped onto the floor, just sitting there and staring straight ahead.
"No...no, no...no...t-too many...too much...what do I do...wh-where do we go...?"
Honestly, while Plague Knight expected that the bomb might do much damage to the creature, he did not really expect it to react so aggressively in response, nor race towards the library at such a great speed. The knight immediately started for the other side of the library, making sure to grab Yoshika in the process with surprising strength on his part.
DAMMIT MARK, STOP HITTING HELPY!!

Morty had hefted whatever he could of Kelsey's body at Jack's insistence, carrying her up through the ladder and into... a restaurant. Yeah, that wasn't weird at all; Morty wasn't sure that he'd ever get used to the labyrinthine, ever-changing city and throwing a third dimension into the mix was just screwing up his sense of direction... even more than usual, anyway.
The fact that everyone was freaking out about Kelsey wasn't exactly doing Morty's jangled nerves any favours either. "I mean, w-w-what's the big deal, right?" he asked, staring out the window at the gigantic mechanical lobster that had currently found a way to haul its million-ton bulk into the air "I mean, yeah, you know, it sucks if she dies... but then sh-she'll just come back and stuff, and, uh- I mean, d-d-don't we kind of have bigger problems here?" he all but screamed, gesticulating out the window at the murderous piece of seafood that was bearing down on a restaurant currently decked out like a really tacky seafood eatery.
Well, if nothing else, their impending death would certainly be ironic.
Rick wasted no time in kicking the submarine into high gear as the gigantic leviathan burst through the water like a nightmare whale breaching - its ascent demolishing a tangle of the massive subaquatic pipes. Rick cranked the wheel and steered the submarine around one chunk of sinking wreckage - then quickly turned the sub upside down, sending it veering around another piece of sinking pipe, missing it by mere inches.
Rick took a shot and yanked the steering wheel to the right. The submarine shot directly through a particularly large piece of tube, corkscrewing through the water and leaving a trail of glowing green bubbles in its wake. The boss of the day seemed to be ignoring the duo thus far, which was probably good news.
"Bad news." Rick adjusted the rearview mirror note - as a series of unearthly, ear-bleeding shrieks, sounding more like a choir of laryngitic banshee-dolphins - rose above the wail of tortured metal. Swimming up behind them and easily keeping pace with the submarine's speed came a series of eyeless, twelve-foot long eels
, tendril-covered faces rippling in the current as they playfully kept pace with Rick's submarine. It would have been cute if they were dolphins, or porpoises, or seals, or something, but the truth of the matter was that human standards of cuteness just didn't stack up very well across parsecs and universes, and anyway, these things were bigger than school busses and were eyeing note the shiny metal thing and its meaty occupants as some kind of snack. Dinner, maybe, what with it being evening and all.
"Okay, I'll *urp* I'll break this to you, first," slurred Rick as he pulled the submarine into an Immelmann, narrowly skirting the needle-teeth of one deep sea abomination before scraping its belly, causing another one of the sea beasts to break off its headlong charge lest it collide with its companions. "I-I never *urp* really got around to putting weapons into this bad boy so what we're gonna have to *urp* do, Gon, you - you just gotta hold on and let Rick take care of - aw, shiiiiiit-'' Rick pulled up from the mouth of yet another ripper - taking advantage of his expository monologue, the creatures had pulled together in a tight wheeling formation, a rotating cage made of their bodies designed to herd in whatever things they ate on their home planet note
"Good news is- you're going to *urp* feel a slight popping sensation in your-" Rick stomped hard on the pedal and pulled the submarine back down into a hard dive as the submarine went deeper and deeper into the ocean, the water fading from blue to black before levelling off, the creatures gamely giving chase but finding it harder to cope with the pressure. Bioluminescent fish scattered as Rick sucked noisily on a bottle of whiskey and stared up at the glass cockpit... and the whisker-thin spiderweb of cracks that were beginning to spread across the glass dome.
"HoooUUUUUUUrghkay, up up up up up up...!" Rick pulled the submarine up back up again - something big and dark had splayed itself up on the surface, a big square shadow floating aimlessly in the depths of the ocean, its evening silhouette clear as midday thanks to the nonsensical nature of light in this universe-
The crew of the raft were having a rough time of it. Not only had their precious frigate - the height of 1810 French military prowess- sunk beneath the waves, casting them adrift on a raft with only a few scant provisions- but their jury-rigged lifeboat had subsequently been plucked out of their cosy Earth ocean, where the monsters had the good sense to stay on the maps where they belonge,- and set adrift on a rather more random and dangerous sea rife with... things... big slimy things with too many eyes and too many teeth who surfaced every so often to pop the survivors into their great slavering maws and return to the depths.
Some of the more superstitious of them had come to believe that perhaps this was God's punishment for eating Jacques a few days ago when they ran out of wine. Those who didn't believe that believed that maybe God was punishing them for eating Francois or Michel. Nobody had ever seen fit to try and test the upward limit of how many people one could eat in extenuating circumstances before God got upset. Perhaps Brother Pierre would have helped them puzzle out this theological dilemma if they hadn't eaten him on the first day.
"I don't like this," mumbled Etienne as he looked out across the horizon. "It's been almost an hour since the last monster. We're due."
"Shut up about the monsters, or I'll eat you next." snapped Gregoire as he massaged his painful sunburn and wished for a good baguette.
"Oh, it never stops with you, does it?" snapped Etienne. "We're down to three, we lost our best chef to the thing with a million unmentionables, and all you think about is eating?! You utter pig!"
"Quiet, you, or you'll disturb the- mon Dieu!" Something compact and silvery ploughed up through the ramshackle raft, punching it to splinters, before heading on to the speck on the horizon.
"I told you!" howled Gregoire as he treaded water, spitting out the saltwater from his mouth. "I told you not to shout! Now look what you've-" Whatever Gregoire would have said next turned into a muffled gurgle as a ripper poked its head up from the water like an adorable curious seal, grabbed him by the head, and dragged him back underwater.
Etienne splashed the water, feeling the peculiar kind of moral victory that could only come from several consecutive days of sunstroke. "Who's getting eaten noooooWOOOOOAAGH oh mon Dieu non non non non..."
Rick swerved his submarine into the ramshackle dock that had sprouted up around the library, capsizing another poorly-constructed vessel and putting a sizable dent in a nearby catamaran - the elderly scientist sprinted into the library, gun brandished and keeping an eye to the sky in case the leviathan decided to attack the library like so many other menaces had decided to do over the weeks.
"I need *urp* I need uranium-238, and if you're not going to give that to me, which I know you're not, then *urp* then I need a rubber hose, two quarts of bottled water, and a monkey wrench!"
