The beach - Things are looking up

Caro smiled warmly right back at Bea and said, "Maybe ... I h-hope so ... "

With Sans having completely switched the topic to stargazing, by now her blush had mostly faded and her face was only slightly tinged pink. Sh also looked up at the night sky and said, "Sure, that would be wonderful," she gained a bit of a thoughful look as she added, "You know, it's kinda strange ... This would be sorta like what we did on our first night here and yet things are so different from then now. It also kinda doesn't feel quite the same with Zelda not being with us for it again ..." She then shook her head, as if trying to chase those thoughts away, as she then said, "But let's not think about that now. So, yeah, stargazing at the beach does sound like quite a nice thing to do."

Beach - preparations

"it doesn't really feel all that different to me, as the saying goes, the more things change, the more they stay the same. a lot of stuff happened since we met but at the end of the day we're still the same as we were before. Sans shrugged.

He then got up from the sand and dusted his shorts to remove some of the sand stuck in it.

"aight, i will set the telescope up, this should only take a minute."

He moved a little further from the group at the bonfire and used the dimensional box to take out his telescope. Once it was there, he began tinkering with the eyepiece of the telescope a little bit.

"Well, we'll stay here, you two have fun looking at the stars," said Bea.

"Yeah, thanks again for all the help yesterday, Caro," said Leo, smiling.

"Hope you're still around for the next days... I guess..." Dan shrugged. "Technically it would be better if you could go home by tomorrow I suppose, but you get what I'm saying." He let out a chuckle.

The Beach

The girl that was looking for Morty thanked Rex for his information on the location of Morty thanked him, and revealed she had another set of arms. Rex just rolled with it.

"You never know what you are gonna get in the weirdness buffet"

One of the drunk robots fell face-first on the sand and started talking about how he had been fighting for 12 million years. His two friends weren't better and one of them even continued drinking something. It wasn't healthy that's for sure. Rex was a bit annoyed at the trio just ruining the moment.

"Do you mind?"

Meanwhile, Lune saw the two volleyball players from before starting to play a game on their own and she got an idea. Rex hadn't paid that much attention to them thanks to the three robots but he was open to anything that would get them out of there.

"Surprise me"

The beach - Warmth under a starry sky

Caro puzzled over what Sans had said and supposed he was right, in a way.

After Sans had gone over to set up his telescope and the trio each said their piece, she said, "Well, you guys are welcome and don't worry, Dan, I think I get what you're saying. It would be nice if we could all go home soon, but while the storyteller god seems somewhat fickle, it's still really unlike. And as along as everyone I have come to care about, as long as there as s are other people still stuck in this place, I would rather stick around to help them all," she flashed the three of them another warm smile and then added, "So yes, as long we are all still here, it would be nice to see you all again. So you guys Enjoy the rest of this wonderful night too and I hope you can stay safe when things go crazy again. Until we met again and if we don't, I hope you all make a safe return to your homes when the time comes. So, good evening to all of you."

She waved at the trio as she and Fried moved away from the bonfire and then she walked until she reached the spot where Sans was setting up the telescope.

Viola I Beach (Rick's Party) I I like it

"Seiga, have I ever told you how I like the way you think?" I told her, listening to her idea as she carried the questionably dangerous container in her hand. "But how do you suppose to- Hold on."

And just like that, I went within the party proper, where I approached the table of a huge slug monster already being knocked out with its arms outstretched and groggily resting its face on the table. In front of it, was pile upon pile of powders of differing color, an ornately-made pipe, a glass of something that I'm not sure I want to know... and several syringes lying about, some empty and the others, not so much.

I quietly took a few of them with me. I'm sure he won't miss them.

I returned back to where Seiga was. "I found something that may help." I showed her the syringes that I have brought. "Or, of course, if you found some other method to get the powder you're carrying into the beast effectively, then be my guest. Speaking of which...," I looked around and noticed the odd beast in question, who'd just finished flinging a person high up into the open sky before coming down with a splash on the sea, as another took up the challenge.

"Would you like to do the honor?"

Beach - second verse, not quite the same as the first

When Caro made her way over to Sans, he had just finished changing the eyepiece of the telescope.

"right on cue, caro, you can go first. ladies first and all that," he said, shrugging, the fact that he was always smiling normally working out in his favor because he certainly would have a mischievous smile on his face otherwise.

Morty and Plague Knight

Q10, having obeyed Plague Knight's command during this time nodded politely at the offer of a drink.

"Greetings - my name is Major Q10 and I serve Lord Plague Knight. An enhanced beverage would be most generous of you. I am not a particularly extravagant partaker but I cannot deny that it does help one get into the battle state of mind." Q10 told the boy.

"If I may, Lord Plague Knight, I am not sure I quite understand what our task is here."

Beach

Since the younger girl smashed the watermelon to pieces, there’s no point in asking the volleyball opponents if Rex and Lune can join them. Oh well.

It’s time for a backup plan. As Lune pondered to herself, she wondered if it is possible for Rex to create those things on the spot? After all, Rex can create plane parts on the fly when they needed to travel to another location very quickly.

“Can you create an orb, a pair of sticks, and a blindfold?”

Rick's Party, You
"With pleasure, my dear." Seiga daintily took the syringe out of her hand, and opened it up. Opening the container, her entire face immediately contorted because its glowing cargo was foul. Yoshika was somehow exactly correct, but vastly underselling it. This was sulfur times ten, and that paradoxical note of lemon was sickening in its combination. Coming from someone who dealt with corpses, poison and Yoshika often, it was probably one of the worst things she had ever smelled.

She quickly but carefully filled the syringe, being rightfully afraid of getting into skin contact with it. Next up was probably going to be the hardest part, getting it safely across the entire party...which was easily solved by just flying over, now that she thought about it for a second. If it weren't for her incredible thinking skills, she'd probably would've had to dodge violent drunkards, a conga line and who knows how many groping hands before making it over there. Thank goodness she was playing it safe!

Touching down behind the thin ring of people surrounding the bullfight, she inspected the blue creature...which was yet another incredible creature from another universe. More than grandeur, she wondered where in the world she would find a vein on that thing's body. As it flung another patron heavenward, bleating in fury with its bioluminescent bladders, Seiga moved in for the kill.

Pushing aside some snake-headed man, who was evidently so intoxicated he only gave a light "hey" in protest before falling over, she quickly got onto the alien's back. The alien didn't give her much warning before it tried launching her like it had so many others, and she had to hold on for dear life.

Now caught between the metaphorical rock of not wanting to leave the City's orbit, and the hard place of having to jam the syringe in without making it obvious, she thought on her feet! Seiga needed to get these people looking anywhere but her right hand, so she quickly raised her left skyward, riding the alien like a bronco with a loud, slightly dispassionate call of "yee haw". The patrons gave their roars of applause for her showmanship, and she delivered the payload with none the wiser, sticking the needle into the thing's back and jamming down.

It wasn't long that even she would be taken off, falling backwards and snapping the needle, bring both her and the remains of the syringe down into the sand. The creature bleated over her for a second, before standing still like a statue.

It must be a wonder to imagine the alien's thoughts in that moment. Standing in a world of strange creatures like it had never seen before, cliffs and rivers of stone covering the landscape, it must've been scared since it had arrived. For a few seconds, feeling something icy run through its veins, it had achieved an understanding higher than its lowly mind, perfectly calm...and then, the drugs really kicked in.

The alien's entire body shot forward at incredible speed, plowing through those in front of it with wild abandon. The creature's sounds suddenly went up multiple octaves as it screamed, crashing through everything like it was some kind of battering ram. Some patrons screamed along with it as they saw the blue mass advancing towards them, others cheered it on, and others were pretty sure it was part of their own trip and ignored it.

Seiga had already retreated far away from it, returning to Viola's side breathlessly. "I think...that'll be enough..." she said in between gasps. Looking back at the thing, as it charged right towards the concessions table (and by extension, Plague Knight) she briefly considered if this was a bad idea. The answer: naaaaah.

Eve spent a while thinking about how to phrase how disastrous this could be gently, and then decided just to give up on subtlety. Luckily, she didn't have to. Ben seemed to get her point. They were then approached by Grimlock. And then by an octopus who was looking to find a home for a gerbil. Eve had no interest in a pet gerbil, but a cat or dog might be nice.

"If you have a dog or a cat that needs a owner, I'm happy to take it."

As for Grimlock's idea for weeding out spies, it was solid, but could use some refinement, since it still had holes (eg. the fact that it wouldn't work if the people in question knew they were being tested). Eve wondered if there were mindreaders in the city, since it would prevent some problems if they were trustworthy (and cause an entirely new set of problems if they weren't).

Lune asked Rex if he could build a blindfold, a pair of sticks and some kind of orb.

"You mean like a piñata?"

He was taken aback by the question. Sadly, Lune's plan wasn't going to work. Rex simply couldn't build that sort of thing.

"No, sorry. I can only create the weapons you've already seen" he remembered creating his tentacle during his last fight with Van Kleiss and thinking about what he could potentially do now "Though there's that new build I've been working on"

Explaining Things

"It is quite simple," Plague Knight said. "I am collecting materials in which to experiment on! See if I can get something viable out of these illicit drugs and fluids. I am also doing some of these people good, taking away these substances from them. I can easily tell whatever chemicals these people are ingesting would do far more harm to their bodies and minds then the temporary euphoria they feel warrants."

The knights then heard some sort of inhuman, demonic wail. He looked towards the source of the sound......and saw some sort of large blue creature that was relentlessly charging through everything in its path, most likely leaving a trail of blood and gore if not for the inability for people to get hurt this day. After confirming that yes, indeed, the monster IS coming right towards him the alchemist reacted quickly -

"Q10, MOVE!!" he yelled as he simultaneously grabbed Morty and a standard black powder with an impact fuse and tossed the bomb at the monster as it came towards them, the explosion causing the monster to shut its eyes out of bodily reflex. Plague Knight, while managing to safely carry Morty, jumped into the air towards the rampaging monster, jumping again in midair, and releasing the fully charged Burst.

Time seems to slow to a near crawl as the knight managed to barely leap over the blue alien as it very nearly hit the two of them, Plague Knight's foot mere millimeter's above the creature. Plague Knight landed and the alien into several tables and cabinets, the sudden larger obstacles causing the creature to trip and tumble. However, instead of stopping the creature entirely, the alien was now thrashing about like a horse that accidentally jumped into deep water, vainly trying to regain footing.

"Morty, get out of here now," Plague Knight as he put the boy down. "Q10, try to restrain the beast!" The knight then pulled out the walkietalkie, setting the channel to ten. "This is Plague Knight, I need assistance in restraining a rampaging beast, I'm at a people currently littered with several intoxicated patrons, please hurry!"

The beach - A slight delay

This time around, Caro realized that, probably just like last time they had done this, Sans was probably only offering for her to go first out of politeness, since he was likely still the most interesting in doing so due to the lack of a true night sky in his home.

"Are you sure, Sans? I mean, it may not be your first time anymore, but I still have seen it way more than you have. So are you really sure you would not rather go first?" She asked politely.

"He will pay for ever daring to enter combat with Major Q10 of Valhalla!" Q10 shouted, shooting his wrist-mounted launcher at the blue mass that stood before him. Then the robot began charging forward to tackle the beast and so serve his liege and protect the drunken hooligans. His mechanical body felt nothing but his soul felt as alive as it ever did when he was in the heat of battle. Perhaps this new situation he had found himself in wasn't a hell - if anything, it was starting to seem like paradise if he hadn't been forced to leave behind his comrades.

He pounded every inch he could of the blue mass, trying to keep it rooted to one spot. He would keep hammering away until the beast was dead or if he could no longer do it.

"caro, c'mon, it's not like you're going to hog the telescope all night long, it won't kill me to wait a couple of minutes," said Sans, then looking back up at the sky, "'sides, i've already gotten used to this, a lot of the magic in it is already gone, sadly."

In reality he just didn't want to end up being hit by his own prank so he had to find some way to get Caro to go first, though thinking about it now he realized he probably should've expected miss goody-goody there to be polite and want to get him to go first.

Rick's party

Plague Knight got no response from any of the random inhabitants or significant groups in the city, because none of them used channel ten.

Q10's launcher jammed the moment he tried to fire it, and when he tried to charge he tripped and fell harmlessly into the sand of the beach. If he still continued to try to punch the beast after getting up, he'd find his fists abruptly and impossibly stopping just before hitting the creature. Its flailing was also likewise completely doing no harm to him whatsoever.

But I care more if people threaten those I care about."

Cybersaur sighed and looked down at Sir Redring. "I think he's just trying to psyche me out, buut what if he's right? What if something did happen to people like Eve, or Sans, or Caro, or Cole... and I was completely helpless to save them? I'd never be able to live with myself." He looked at the poster he had drawn that he had put on Miss Tairee's desk.

"Oh!" he exclaimed. "I've been trying to put together a group of heroes. People who can be called on to save the day when people are in danger. Yet people who can be trusted to keep from killing the bad guys. If we kill them they appear again just fine and they go right back to hurting other people. Sir Redring looked at the poster and blinked a couple times. "Keep from killing them? Don't be preposterous! A quick death is the fastest way to stop them from doing whatever they're immediately doing; force them right off to somewhere else in the city and give you a chance to assess the situation. They also drop any weapons they've obtained in the city, which could give a significant advantage" Sir Redring said, as if flabbergasted that Ben would even propose such a notion.

"And I've fought a few that decided they'd rather not go through another death, and calmed down after their demise lest I take their life again. It might not work against them all, but I see no good reason to completely discard the tactic" Sir Redring continued, the tentacles holding the gerbil seeming to shrug while a couple others had the 'hands on hips' kind of pose.

There were a lot of people along the beach, either gathered around small fires or playing on the sand or eating meals together. In some ways it reminded Cole of back home, when there would be groups of people camping together as they rested from their travel.

Usually there was more clothing though.

He didn't really have an idea of what "homesick" could feel like before now, but he wondered if perhaps he was feeling it. Looking around made him wish that he could see Cassandra, cleaning her armor and testing the joints of it, or Blackwall sitting by the fire whittling at a bit of wood while dinner cooked, or even Vivienne, delicately picking her way back to her tent, magic wisping about to keep dirt and bugs from her area, her furs somehow as soft and comfortable as a real bed, even if no one else could quite figure out how she was managing these things.

Vivienne would have hated this place, full of strange monsters and uncouth people and loud children with magic that didn't obey the rules of the Circle. Not to mention the way one's body would sometimes change, warped and unwilling, into a form outside of normal. The day they had turned into those strange, thin creatures and the rules of the world didn't apply in the same way would have been the worst.

Cole wondered if she was worried about him, having been missing for nearly a week at this point. Her words to him were often cruel, designed as weapons and wards against the abomination she'd been taught to believe he was, but inside where no one but he could see, sometimes she had an image of him in mind like the others...less a monster barely hidden in a human skin and more a strange child, lost and confused in an unfamiliar world and needing a guidance that no one could quite offer. She would never admit it, to him or anyone else, but...Cole suspected that in ways no one else could detect, Vivienne was working just as hard as anyone to look for him.

Of all the people he could miss the most right now, he wondered if perhaps she was a strange choice.

Ahead of him, Cole noticed a familiar pair, and he hesitated a moment at the sight of Sans and Caro, apparently working with some device that looked...familiar. A looking glass, he thought...he remembered Varric showing him one once, saying it was a replica of one owned by a famous dwarven Warden from a few years back. Cole had found it fascinating, but that one had been much smaller than the one the other two were looking at now.

He paused a short distance away, tilting his head and just watching quietly for a moment, unsure whether or not he should say anything to them.

"But I— hm..." Cybersaur tried to protest, but then stopped when he realized he actually didn't have a strong rebuttal to Sir Redring's point. He also wasn't angry enough to go stomping off and get himself in trouble like he did with Cole.

"Maybe you're right, Sir Redring. But... but I can't do it lightly. It'd have to be a complete, total last resort. If I let myself kill too quickly... it'd get too easy. I'd start killing bad guys because it was quick. They wouldn't get justice, they'd just be out of my hair. If it got too easy I might even start killing bad guys when I get back to my world, just out of habit. And in my world death is forever. I wouldn't be a hero. I'd be a monster. I'd be no better than the bad guys... Grandpa wouldn't speak to me. I couldn't live with myself."

Cybersaur slumped as he sat down on the floor. "We need to find some way to keep bad guys from doing bad things. Some way other than killing them. Maybe if it's the only option. But there's always another way. There's gotta be," he muttered, beginning to sound more like he was trying to convince himself rather than trying to convince Sir Redring.

Cinema

Curly glanced at the holographic version of Ben's poster as she passed Miss Tairee's seat by in search of her own. Not really sure of theater ettiqite, the robot girl took a spot somewhere between both Jack and the Librarian as the ads started. Frankly, they were rather confusing, but soon enough the movie itself started... And almost immediately Curly was treated to the sight of Jack, floating underwater somewhere dark. The narration and the imagery forcibly reminded her of her own experience trapped underwater, fighting to maintain consciousness in the increasingly vain hope of finding safety before it was too late.

She couldn't help but shudder at the recent memories, but the movie moved on to a more pleasant outcome than her own. And soon the movie Jack was free from the dark underwater prison and frolicking about. "You can do all that?" Curly asked the live Jack after his film counterpart's clumsy attempts at flying. In retrospect, she probably should have suspected he could be some sort of mage by the way he carried that stick of his around... But she'd had enough other distractions at the time the thought hadn't even crossed her mind,

The part where people walked right through Jack was, earned him a confused look as the scene started to transition.

North and his workshop, the yeti and the elves were also confusing for Curly. Whether due to amnesia or an oversight in her programming, mythology wasn't something she was familiar with except in the broadest of senses, which, unfortunately didn't include Santa Claus or any of the other figures depicted on film today. Even so, Pitch carried with him an unmistakable air of evil and villainy. The soundtrack certainly helped with that.

"A Mimiga on the surface?" Curly said in surprise when the Easter Bunny appeared. She was sure any that had left the cave had been killed... But, this one looked different too. She glanced at her blade when she noticed Bunny's attitude, it certainly reminded her of a mimiga warrior. Though Jack's reaction to his critical line made her jump out of her contemplation, she stayed quiet as Jack and Miss Tairee's quick conversation before the movie continued.
