Lune watched Yoshika forcefully kick open the door to the theater for Lune. Although that was a completely friendly gesture, that was very rude. However, Lune chose not to comment on that because she really didn't want to be on the receiving end of that kick.
Lune sat next to Yoshika, and smiled. Man, these seats were very comfy! If only the library had seats this nice there. Maybe Lune would read more books if that happened. Anyways, Lune placed her popcorn and large soda in the cupholders and took a handful of popcorn while watching.
While watching the movie, Yoshika began asking plenty of questions. Didn't Yoshika learn not to talk during a film?! Then again, Lune quietly whispered answers to Yoshika, so she really didn't have room to talk here.
“If she didn't trust Mansley, there would be no plot.”
“Probably... We could get some after the movie ends.”
“He probably is... Maybe we can look some info on him later?”
“Yeah... It's dead.”

When Yoshika and Lune emerged from their movie, (which would still be a while chronologically speaking) they might notice that Miss Tairee was no longer there; the second movie theater had instead been selected by someone to play Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, which was about a third of the way through. The theater next to that meanwhile had been picked at about the same time to play Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.
It seemed even the infinite randomness of the multiverse could not escape some fandom wars.
Wells seemed a bit flattered at Cole's words, but also confused, and had to take a good seven seconds or so to piece through what the spirit had said. "Wait a minute, you're like a mind reader then? In that case boy, I have something more important you could be doing instead" Lieutenant Wells said, turning to more properly face Cole head on. "This city has been rather rough with some of its challenges and dangers. While it might be more practical to take advantage of the city's lack of death and place a bullet between the eyes of anyone who's injured, I'm not willing to stoop to that level if I can help it. This city is sorely lacking any kind of hospital, and I'd like to see that changed" the soldier explained to him.
"I could send out people to ask around for anyone with medical experience, but with the way the city is it'd be very easy to miss people; it could take days to find anyone. Do you think you could find someone using your abilities?" Lieutenant Wells asked Cole.
There was a sudden and brief blur in the air nearby, and then Miss Tairee was there, still in her bikini and sunglasses. "Wells, I need to tell you about something; it's about the remaining Ruckus" Miss Tairee said quickly.
Wells looked at the librarian, his eyebrows lowering a bit. "You already told me some of Ruckus are still active. Is there something else to it now?" Lieutenant Wells questioned her.
"The man in charge just went to the library and got a book containing all the knowledge he needs to restore Feather Beak to his proper form" Miss Tairee answered quickly.
"WHAT?! AND YOU LET HIM!?" Lieutenant Wells shouted.
"Didn't just let him, I picked it out for him. Don't you get it? I'm not allowed to play favorites; anyone who comes to the library and follows the rules, I have to help" Miss Tairee explained. Many of the militia members overhearing the conversation started booing and yelling angrily at her. "Hey! I didn't have to come and warn you! I'm doing the best I can here!" the librarian protested back at them.
"Quiet down! Back to work!" Lieutenant Wells yelled at them. He was clearly still angry, but seemed to be realizing that taking that out on Miss Tairee now wouldn't do any good.

You are reading this.Cole tilted his head to one side as Wells seemed to be asking him about finding healers. He wasn't sure if that was...exactly something he could do, but healers were often touched by pain, weren't they? Yes, he could do that, search for people with pains of lost patients, mistakes made in methods of healing...surely.
Before he could agree to the request, though, Miss Tairee appeared, and Cole couldn't help but shrink back slightly from her, gaze fixing on the ground. When she mentioned Feather Beak however, his gaze shot up to her, eyes wide.
"No...no no he's supposed to be gone! He can't come back! We have to stop it from happening!"
Cole looked to Wells, clear panic in his voice. "I can tell my friends, tell them to find whoever this is and stop them! They can do it, they can stop it from happening! But-but then I have to hide, I can't...I can't let him find me again, I can't, I can't let him find me! And Sadness...she has to hide too! He wanted to make us into monsters, I don't want to be a demon again, I don't!"
Plague Knight continued surfing until he came upon a particularly large wave. Spurned on by the cheers of the tribals, the knight entered the wave, the water curling around him as it fell, as if going through a large tube. Gazed at it all in amazement, feeling almost......weightless. The only other times he felt like this was underwater infiltrating Treasure Knight's Submersible Fortress and traversing through Propeller Knight's Airship, though here it was the feeling of elation and joy rather than having to fight for his life. He then shot out into the air, arms outstretched to the side as he stood tall on the board, almost like a majestic bird in flight......
He opened his eyes and looked down, seeing Rex and Twilight in the distance........which was rapidly decreasing and aimed for the ground. Plague Knight panicked, momentarily losing balance and hanging onto the board until it landed nose first into the sand, throwing the alchemist off and causing him to roll across the sand and stopping with his point masked buried within the soft grainuals. The tribals immediately came up to him.
A beat.
"I am unspoiled!" Plague Knight declared, his voice slightly muffled in the sand.
The tribals were relieved by that and then returned to their surfing. Plague Knight dug himself out of the sand and looked around, not seeing Rex or Twilight, having missed them. "Hm........." There was a chance they were just passing by and were not looking for him, but he did not want to take that chance.
"Goodbye everyone, thank you for the experience!" he said, waving to the tribals.
The tribals happily waved back and said goodbye as well, the little girl from earlier hugging the scientist. "Goodbye tangata manu," she said, before letting and going back to her father, waving goodbye.
Plague Knight then set off for the library, at least to get his bearings before looking for Rex.
..........................
Plague Knight came back to the beach, took out a jar, scooped up some of the sand, closed the jar, and went back the way he came, all without stopping his jog.
DAMMIT MARK, STOP HITTING HELPY!!Karkat - On the Road Again
Despite the fact that nobody was looking, Karkat felt the need to look as moody as possible, as if he was in the sad scene in one of his romcoms, right before he receives advice from his single but socially knowledgeable friend, and he comes back to his matesprit to apologize, then they would apologize, they wpuld get back together and the credits roll. Except there was no friend, no apologies and no matesprit. Just him and Ben. And Viola, but he just wanted to shove her out of his mind right now.
Karkat kept his head down for most of time (going along with the whole "brooding protagonist" idea) so of course he had no clue where he was going. Not like he would know, anyway; the city was ever-shifting, right? He pulled the pamphlet he got a few days earlier from his sylladex and read it over again. Yup, he was right. After he finished skimming it over he returned it to his sylladex, he finally got a good look of his surroundings. His eyes rested upon one particular building that looked somewhat important, and his stomach grumbled. Was he seriously still hungry? The somewhat important building looked like it could have food in it. Good food, hopefully. Karkat put his hands back in his pockets and walked in, hoping for the best. Instead, there was a bunch of people roaming the aisles. Figures. He ducked his head and made his way to the least populated aisle, hoping nobody bumps into him. But knowing his luck, he was gonna end up ramming into the weirdest person here. And that person had a freaking snake body for legs. Definitely weird.

(holds pool noodle threateningly) Do you want to know what we do to artists?"Calm down boy! Losing your head won't help!" Lieutenant Wells told Cole, grabbing the spirit's shoulder to keep him steady. "And just who are your friends, anyway?" the solder asked.
"The group of heroes" Miss Tairee answered for him.
"Oh" Wells stated, letting go of Cole. He was still annoyed about the argument with Ben earlier. "What does this man need to restore the demon anyway? How long do we have?" the soldier questioned Miss Tairee.
"Soul sacrifices. Either a lot of them or a few powerful ones, all at once. So not until tomorrow at the earliest, but after that..." Miss Tairee told him, leaving the rest unsaid.
"I see..." Wells muttered, thinking. "I need to keep work going here. Boy, you should find your friends and let them know, but after that, if you can could you see to my request? Please?" the soldier said to the spirit.
The half snake-bodied Silanea glanced behind herself at Karkat after he bumped into her, a slightly annoyed expression on her face. "Would you watch where you're going?" Silanea said to him in a criticizing tone. Behind her, a few members of the anti-humans were working together to lift and lug around a fridge that had iron chains wrapped around it; the two headed ogre was doing most of the literal lifting himself while the others helped.
"I just knew you couldn't resist me babe. Taking me back to your love nest to finish what we started on that jungle day, amirite?" Jackson's muffled voice said arrogantly from inside the fridge.
"I'll make you regret being born!" Silanea yelled, so angrily it was practically a growl.
"Oh I don't think there's anything you could do to make me do that. You could only make me regret being born in a different universe than you babe" Jackson went on, still as smug as ever.
You are reading this. The Universe Buffet.
Unlike earlier, Sophie now deftly weaved through the people gathered around the food lines, her tray, plate and utensils perfectly balanced on one hand even as she bobbed around, sniffing every which way. She was, almost quite literally, a girl on a mission.
Curly would eventually see her stop at a display full of expertly-arranged plates of food a few meters away from where they started. The lilac-haired girl's eyes were wide open in awe as she stared at one in particular: a golden-brown egg patty with a creamish-white meat of some kind peeking out of the edges, sprinkled with chopped onion and green peas, and drizzled with a dark-brown sauce, all on top of a fairly hidden bed of rice underneath.
◊
"Crablettes......" Sophie spoke in a hushed whisper, with all the gravitas of someone who had just discovered a legendary lost treasure. Her free hand (slowly) reached out and took the plate, setting it on top of the empty one already on her tray. She then turned around to face Curly, her expression one of satisfaction* and determination* .

Karkat - Grocery Store
Was everybody this mean? He didn't even say anything! Karkat sighed while the snake girl and the fridge(???) argued. OKAY, LOOK, Karkat said once they were done, I'VE BEEN THROUGH SOME INCREDIBLE SHIT TODAY, AND I DON'T NEED SOMEONE ELSE SHOUTING AT ME FOR TRYING TO BE USEFUL, THOUGH CLEARLY, I SUCK AT THAT TOO! IS THERE ANYTHING THAT PARADOX SPACE WON'T STEAL FROM ME?!
(holds pool noodle threateningly) Do you want to know what we do to artists?Supermarket - Over and done with shopping
As she finished her popsicle, Caro said "Oh, like the one you ask Miss Tairee to make on our first night here? That sounds nice. It's probably made of plants right? I guess we could find that along with the rest of the vegetables, but ... If needs heating, that could be an issue. We don't have easy acess to an oven or a microwave. Maybe she should leave that for another time. This shopping trip has taken too long already. I think I have taken enough food, so if you two are ready as well, I think Sans should take us to the library so we can get on with the rest of our plans."

Cole grimaced when Wells gripped his shoulder, but took a breath, sniffing a bit and trying to settle himself down. He nodded slowly, looking down at his hands, hesitant, before turning to hold it out to Wells.
"She conjured these," he said, looking to Tairee, then back to Wells. "They keep the demon out of your head. I...I can't see through it either. I'm...like the demon, but not like it. But, I...I can't use my powers when I'm wearing it. Can...can you hold it for me, until I get back? I'll...I'll find someone who can heal, and I'll come back...is...is that all right?"
She sunk back down into her chair, and started to watch the movie silently. Considering the kind of heavy stuff going on in the movie, she decided it was better to try and come up with her own answers from now own.
Yoshika could only watch completely silently as she saw the title character of the movie fly into the stratosphere. Up until the end of that particular scene, she was so completely enthralled in what was going on that she could barely remember what was going on. Not only in the film, but where she was, and what she was even doing.
This was the only time she had ever been truly engaged by watching something like this. Considering the boring stuff that Seiga had allowed her to watch, it was understandable, but to her this was an entirely new feeling. As that particular scene drew to a close, Lune might've noticed a few sniffles from the person next to her.
"Why'd he ha-have to do that, the Iron Giant d-didn't even mean to hu-hu-huurt anyboooodyyy!" she shouted as she gripped Lune for support, sobbing into her side. She was an inconsolable wreck right now. This was pretty much the first time she had ever consumed sad media outside of the occasional tearjerker in classical poetry, and she obviously wasn't taking it well.

Grey Matter stared around at the City from above in awe. He often saw it this high up as Stinkfly, but it was another thing entirely to fly with someone else in Grey Matter form where everything was magnified. He smiled at Eve as they flew. "This view is spectacular. I have an alien with the capacity of flight but it is another thing entirely to partake in events in this magnitude and scale!" Grey Matter told Eve. They soon approached the library and Eve touched down. Grey Matter leapt out of Eve's hands and pressed the button on his back. With a red flash, he turned back into Ben, and he looked around at who all was outside.
He saw Rex and Sadness chatting. He didn't want to bother Sadness since, well, he'd had enough of being sad for today. Morty was the interesting one. He raised an eyebrow and walked up towards the boy, looking up at him. "Hey Morty," Ben greeted him. "Here by yourself? Where's your grandpa?" he asked, putting his hands on his hips.
I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.Silanea looked back at Karkat, her annoyance now clearly directed at him. "What? 'Trying to be useful?' You just randomly walked into me!" Silanea said to him, her group still hauling the fridge off towards the exit.
"I'm familiar with them. The librarian made enough for my entire militia when I was worried the demon might try to infiltrate using a possessed person" Lieutenant Wells said, then paused and narrowed his eyes. "Why do they work on you?" the soldier asked Cole.
"Because he's a similar enough being, but you don't have to worry about him" Miss Tairee told Wells, then looked at Cole. "Cole, I can make more of those things. You can just return to the library whenever you want another one" the librarian suggested to the spirit.
You are reading this."What'cha got there Sophie? Looks pretty good" Curly said, judging by the girl's determination to track it down and the expression she was now wearing the dish must be something special, though they hadn't had much time to get to know eachother, this Sophie seemed much more engaged than she'd ever seen before.
With a grin she reached for a plate of the awe-inspiring dish to add to her own relatively empty tray. "Maybe I should try some of that"
Eve|Library
Ben had turned back into human form, and walked towards someone he called Morty. Eve also saw someone of Hispanic? descent talking to a blue-skinned...thing. She briefly considered going into the library to read, but decided not to, sticking by her previous decision to find out as much as she could about the people while she couldn't be harmed. She approached Morty and Ben, with an impassive expression on her face.
"Hello."
[TOP SECRET]"Oh. uh... hey." Morty waved at Ben, who looked as though- well, it looked as though he'd been... crying?
Yeah, Ben had his, uh, his Omni-thing to fall back on, but the kid was young - what, like ten years old? Nine? Eleven, at most? At the very least, Morty had come with Rick - who was, yeah, a destructive influence at the best of times, but even so, he was someone to rely on when things were going bad.
Then again, maybe things went bad because Rick was always around. Correlation and all. Morty shook himself mentally and returned to his original train of thought. Ben didn't really have anyone his own age... and by the looks of it he was starting to get a little homesick.
"Uh... yeah." Morty rubbed the back of his head, trying to forget about his very near brush with death at the hands of some kind of bizarre post-human species. "Grandpa- uh, I mean Rick - Rick, h-he's runnin', a party by the beach. I mean, uh, it's a break day, right?"

Cole grimaced a little at Tairee's talking to him, lowering his head again, then nodded slightly. "I...I can ask you for things...that's right. I was there when you told Ben..."
He seemed to think that over for a minute before looking at her. "Is...is there a way I could ask you to give messages to people for me? Or...or instead, something I could use to use those...ph-phones the others have? I don't know how to use one of those, but...back home, Dorian had a crystal pendant that worked with magic to talk to other people who were very far away...c-could I have one that would work to talk to the others?"
Lewis was about to figuratively open his mouth and explain why what Jack described was wrong. Thankfully, Ara showed up and did it for him, before adding the dismaying fact that she too did not have any money on her, and looking around to watch the people passing in and out of the buffet. No one seemed to be paying anything at either the entrance or the tables...did the city have currency?
He supposed he might as well sit down before he pressed the issue, and followed Ara to the empty table Garrett had picked out, bumping into some wayward visitor with black carapace ("Sorry. I didn't see you there."), and sat on the opposite side of the table for six, in the middle seat.
He offered the plate with the pizza and the pancake-looking thing (both inexplicably untouched by the surplus of spices) in their general direction. "Okonomiyaki?"

Fortunately, all it took for Caro to recover from the spider donut dilemma was a frozen treat from Sans. And it turned out he'd brought something for Zelda too.
"Why thank you, Sans," she said with a smile as she took the Nice Cream from Sans. As he and Caro discussed the matter of vegetarian monster food, she figured out how to open it up. She'd never seen something like this before, and given the previous experiences she couldn't help but hesitate a little before taking a bite. To her pleasant surprise, it was a very pleasant sweet flavor, enhanced by the cold. The feeling of the food instantly vanishing when she swallowed was something she was going to have to get used to, though.
"I guess the name 'Nice' Cream is fitting," she commented, before she noticed there was something written on the covering she just took off. She read it a little more closely....
'Are those claws natural?'
Zelda supposed that was intended to be a compliment, but she couldn't help but look at her nails with a worried expression shortly after reading it. She was quick to remind herself that whoever made this treat probably didn't intend on a human eating it. A few seconds later she'd turned back to Caro and Sans.
"I think I've gathered enough myself. I suppose it's a good thing the spider donuts are an exception to the rule." She frowned. "Though I think I was getting the wrong impression from both the donuts and those 'Temmie Flakes.'" She shrugged. "At any rate, I'm ready to head out when you two are."
Icon by Civvi the Civilian! When the titular character of the film flew into outer space and sacrificed his own life to stop the missile from hitting the peaceful shoreline town, Lune began crying. She noticed Yoshika sniffling to herself after that scene. Guess they now have something to commiserate over.
When they exited the film, Yoshika was now crying up a storm over the Iron Giant, and Lune was also crying her heart out. At least they had something to commiserate over. Lune simply hugged Yoshika back in an attempt at comforting her. However, Lune was too caught up in the moment that she somehow didn't notice Star Trek and Star Wars theaters at all.
“It's all right, Yoshika... Maybe the giant will come back right? Right?”
Both of them seemed to enjoy their frozen treat and so once Sans finished his own popsicle he picked up his phone and placed a few more things in his shopping bag, namely a couple of bags of popato chisps and also some regular water.
"aight, girls, let's head back, finally," he said.
And with that, Sans teleported the trio away.
The trio would return right in the middle of the library and once they were back Sans went to one of the corners to drop his bag before taking a look around and spotting Ben there.
"'sup kiddo, did you miss me?" he asked as he approached.
Ben's eyebrows widened. "A party?" He crossed his arms, looking over at the teenager. "What kinda party we talking about? And didn't he get the memo about the evil ghost? He might be in danger, Morty." Ben frowned, looking back at Eve and then inside the library. He wondered if Sans would take a while to reach the library as well. Luckily his thoughts were well-timed as Sans walked out from inside the library and addressed him.
"Hi Sans. Took you long enough. Nice outfit, you look like you got attacked by a Hawaiian vacation billboard," Ben teased, with a smirk on his face. "You said you wanted to hit the beach?"

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither."You should," Sophie replied matter-of-factly, walking over to a nearby machine with a picture of a cup on its side. "Crablettes are delicious."
The lilac-haired girl stopped in front of the machine, assuming it would contain cups to fill up somewhere else. Said machine, which was a pale-brown and almost book-shaped contraption, was completely sleek save for the screen on one side, with an illuminated grill shelf underneath that. She looked the screen over, which was currently playing a surprisingly smooth animation loop of various drinks, both recognizable and unrecognizable. The interface reminded her of some holographic touchscreens on Fodra, so she poked at the screen with her free hand. "Please state your desired beverage," a male synthetic voice droned from the machine.
Sophie looked down to think, before looking back up. "Apple juice, please."
A plain white cup materialized on the grill, and then a jet of clear-yellowish liquid streamed into it from above. Once the cup was full, the machine intoned once more. "Thank you for your patronage."
The lilac-haired girl picked the cup up and promptly took a sip. Her eyes closed as she savored the sweetness. After that, she politely stepped aside to allow Curly to get a drink as well.

"Wha-we can't just take the food and not pay!" Ara exclaimed when Jack mentioned the possibility of them just leaving and not paying, although there was not much Ara herself could contribute in that regard. "I... didn't bring any money with me, though..."
Unsure of what to do, she spent a few moments watching as people entered and left the building. She eventually noticed that not a single one of them actually paid anything at any point, which did change her predisposition just enough to get herself through the process, in the hopes of finding out at what point she would have to apologize. However, in the meantime she could not help but ponder what her friends would do in that situation.
What she envisioned did not help.
She pictured Elsword and Aisha fighting over the last few pieces of meat, after Elesis had already taken most of it for herself and placed it in the shape of a large pyramid on her trail, which she carried with both hands in an incredible display of both physical strength and balance. Some distance away, Rena tried in vain to get Raven to include some vegetables in his diet, since his plate was filled mostly with very spicy jerky. Chung walked at the very front of the pack, keeping an eye out for the more... lively foods. Eve, who did not need to eat, was the one picking the table where everyone would sit, while Add continued to stare at her from some distance away, waiting for the chance to pick his food alone, with his plate still empty.
Seeing the futility of her thoughts, and starting to realize she was starting to miss her friends, Ara merely let out a sigh and decided to simply pick up a tray and get herself something to eat. She did not pick up much food, but it was quite varied: some meat, a few vegetables, a bit of spicy jerky on the side, and a small amount of pasta. It was just a small way to keep her friends in her mind, but meaningful nonetheless. Once she was finished, she walked calmly to the table Garrett had picked, sat down in silence, and waited for the rest of her companions.
