Fleeing the Library
Washington had hoped that the fight going on would be enough of a distraction to keep people from attacking him, but it seemed that just wasn't his luck. Figures, nothing ever went easy for him! The only person among the reds and blues to rival his streak of near death experiences was Donut. The first sign of trouble was the corner he was heading towards exploding. Though miraculously missed by any shrapnel, Wash stopped in his tracks for a few moments due to the shock. It was unfortunate that the strange fire humanoid had decided to chase him.
There was no way he could fight something like that with bullets and throwing knives. He wasn't a stranger to killing aliens, but those ones weren't made of magma! Thankfully, it seemed like he wouldn't have to. It looked as if the alien's own "friend" had shown up, and was much better equipped for dealing with this. "Well, I'd lend you a hand but I think I'd only get in the way against that," Washington told Gwen apologetically. "Can't throw my life away right after killing Caboose. Good luck, though."
Without wasting anymore time, he continued his attempt at running out of sight. He'd be better suited to killing people who weren't aware that he was an enemy, at least when it came to superpowered individuals like this.
Why is a yam attacking me?Gwen turned towards Washington and nodded before returning her attention to the fight at hand. She shot a look at Louie, who was digging into his bag for something, and flicked her wrist in his direction. She shouted something in an arcane language. The bag of holding started to yank away from him as if she was trying to pull it out of his grip and towards her.
Heatblast jumped in the way of Louie, glaring and lighting his hands aflame.
"Knock it off, you creepazoid clone!" Heatblast yelled. Gwen flicked her wrist again, and with a pink glow, a flurry of pink bolts of energy flew towards Heatblast and Louie. Heatblast grunted, raising a wall of fire to try and block the bolts of energy.
"And who is this supposed to be? New friend of yours? I didn't think you could make new friends. You were always so immature and headstrong. Always driving people away," Gwen told him, almost mockingly.
"You're wrong!" Heatblast shouted. "You don't know anything about what's happened here!"
I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.Lil' Sunny squeaked in a sort of surprise and shock, putting one flower hand over her mouth. She started to step towards Joker, but Nimbus gave an adamant chirp, and Lil' Sunny paused. Nimbus then stared intently at Joker, seemingly waiting for something.
Meanwhile, Louie yelped in surprise as the bag of holding was yanked away from him, though he had a single potion bottle in hand as his arm retracted from the bag. Louie watched the bag slide away, then glared in determination, and turned his attention to Goldeneye, to whisper some instructions to the pokemon. With that done, Louie turned back towards Gwen, but then shouted upwards, "Swishee! Throw Pecha up and then attack!"
Up above, the pelipper hesitated for a moment, but then did as she was told, and spat the surprisingly calm trapinch away before diving towards Gwen. Swishee would basically try to smash into Gwen with her large bill and then fly off.
Of course, this probably wouldn't actually work, but that's why it was the distraction.
Goldeneye blinked out again, appearing in the air to catch Pecha on top of its head, then hum instructions to the other pokemon. Pecha blinked, then nodded, and swirled her head about a bit. Sand, dirt, dust, and other tiny debris started to swirl around Gwen's position, getting thicker and more turbulent, before it would all collapse inward in a sand tomb attack. At the same time, Louie chucked his recovered potion towards Gwen as well; the berzerk potion would make anyone it splashed on feel angry, and possibly lose some control if they weren't able to resist the effects and keep a level head.
While all that was happening, Fastanook had scrambled over to the unconscious Gon and Mo-gyeong. He looked at them both for a few moments, then started grumbling complaints as he tried to drag them both towards the library. The progress would be very slow going, given his smaller size and relative strength.

Just a moment after Caboose was shot and killed, Garrett had run out of the library through the nearest exit and chased after Washington. The blast of the Thunder Child's cannon came as a surprise, but Garrett did not take long to shake himself out of it.
As Washington began running away once more, Garrett used the brief window of opportunity to toss a flash bomb towards the trooper, throwing it as far as he could.
Fleeing Library
Distracted as he was by the giant cannon-caused explosion and the fight between an alien and its cousin, Washington didn't notice Garret also following him. That is, he didn't notice until he heard a noise right behind him of something hitting the ground. The soldier turned around, his mind instantly realizing what he was looking at.
"Oh shit-" he managed to say, right before the flashbang went off. It was clearly a weaker flashbang than the ones he was used to, seeing as it wasn't meant to be used on people wearing reflective visors, but it still was enough to blind and disorient him. Even with the flash of light dimmed by his helmet, it still had enough of an effect.
He had been hit by these things all the time... grenade mishaps were common with the reds and blues. Relying on his memory of what was in front of him, he kept trying to run away. Even as his vision was gone and his hearing was temporarily shot, he managed to keep himself going in a way that wouldn't make him hit a wall.
Though not running quite so steadily anymore, he knew he couldn't stay still. Staying still and becoming an easy target was exactly what the person who threw this thing would want from him.
Why is a yam attacking me?Gwen put up a wall of pink energy to try and deter the attacking Pelipper, before sand started to twirl around her position. Louie grabbed his potion and threw it at her as well.
"ENOUGH!" Gwen shouted, a large pink pulse of energy bursting from around her in all directions, dissipating the sand and sending the oncoming potion flying away and breaking harmlessly on the ground in a different direction. "You two little brats are getting on my nerves! Let me put out that fiery little spark of yours! Tempestus!" she chanted, gesturing at a nearby fire hydrant.
The hydrant suddenly burst, letting a torrential jet of water out and shooting highly pressurized water in the direction of Heatblast and Louie. Heatblast gasped and tried to shoot a jet of fire at the oncoming water spout, but it was snuffed out as it started to smother him.
I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither."Wh-"
Thanks to Ren's magic Rex was thrown away by his own kick's force. That was enough to break his boot and leave him out of the fight for a few seconds.
"Next time I'm listening to Makoto"
Luckily Joker was more focused on fighting Ben's entourage, probably to slow them down and distract them away from another nemesis. And it didn't stop there. Numbers wise, he simply couldn't keep up. His persona disappeared seemingly because he was injured but one could never be too sure. Rex decided to walk up to the phantom thief and take control of the situation.
"Just for the record, I was winning before all of this happened" Rex enjoyed the hollow victory very much and stopped short of putting a foot over Ren's chest as a sign of victory. "You know, I don't wanna kill you. So just give up already"
Rex felt himself get pushed once again. Heat quickly spread through his arm and the uncomfortable sensation he felt when moving his shoulder proved it hadn't been just any projectile. He had been stabbed. By a pretty large sword, no less.
"...I was planning on using that hand, ouch" he complained and looked for whoever could have attacked him. Something told him it wasn't Arsene. "No way!"
To his surprise, he spotted a very tall man wearing a green suit and shades in the distance. He was holding the twin sword to the one that had cut through his flesh and didn't look interested in making friends.
"This day just keeps getting better and better"
Louie glanced at the fire hydrant when Gwen pointed her arm at it, then he quickly moved so that Heatblast would be between himself and the hydrant. Doing so, Louie was spared from any direct harm from the water, but he did yelp as scalding steam was sent off the firey alien. "Not enough, huh?" Louie muttered, teeth clenched, then looked up at the claydol and trapinch and hollered, "plan B with the crunch!"
Goldeneye hummed a bit, then the two pokemon blinked out again. This time they reappeared right near Gwen. Pecha rather nonchalantly did a little hop off of Goldeneye, opening her jaws up wide before snapping down hard, aiming for Gwen's arm.
As Swishee circled around the situation, Louie had to back away somewhat from Heatblast, trying to protect his face with his arms. "Ben! Are you alright!?" Louie yelled.
Up on the Thunder Child, there was some confusion about what exactly was going on, with militia members shouting about whatever they could see from where they were looking over the edge of the main deck. There was a slight delay then, but they did piece together that the man in the suit with a sword was seemingly hostile, so a few phaser stun rounds were fired down his way as well. Weapons were being aimed at Gwen now too, but they were holding fire since they didn't want to chance hitting one of the friendly combatants yet.

As expected, the extended fighting had drawn more enemies in. A red headed teenager with some kind of purple magic aura appeared to fight Ben, and now a copy of Six had arrived. This was no longer a fair battle. Could the Militia probably handle it? Probably with the power of their ship, but it wasn't a precise weapon and risked hitting the wrong targets. Makoto didn't have a choice anymore.
She stood up and shoved her way through the revolving doors, leaving her books on the ground near Cole.
Outside Library
"...Looks like you spoke too soon," Joker said, pushing himself up after Rex was stabbed. His mask burned away, and Arsene returned. "Makarakarn!" He had some energy left, but he wasn't going to last too much longer. He wanted to drag someone down with him though. Maybe the floating creature first. Arsene summoned a different colored barrier around them, only to have to drag Joker out of the way as a motorcycle narrowly missed him. Makoto turned Anat around and skidded sideways until they came to a halt.
"We're finishing this right now," she said. Hopefully she could distract Rex's opponent too and give him time to recover.

After all Herc had to say to Ben, he still, still wanted to go and help out Rex and then decided to dash out the door to do just that not before he changed into Heatblast in the process. Herc could only look at Makoto and Cole give a shrug that basically just said: 'Well I tried' sort of gesture. Before he could do anything else, Caboose then got shot down by a mysterious assassin and just like that, Ben changed his mind and then went after the person who had gunned down the Sim Trooper.
Hercules then decided to follow after him and Louie but before long they got ambushed by what was supposed to be a future version of Gwen, Ben's cousin. He could see she was using a fire hydrant to dose Heatblast with some water. Herc took out the bow and arrows he had gotten recently and then loaded an arrow into the bow and then aimed one of the arrows at the water hydrant. Once he had done this he would then focus on Gwen and shot at her with two arrows.
Miss Tairee and her copies didn't seem to care much about the battle outside, but one of them did look over at the bubbled Alexander, who was finally sitting cross-legged and pouting instead of slamming fruitlessly on the bubble. "Well, you've calmed down now? Then I'll let you out, as long as you watch your language" one Miss Tairee copy said to him, then hit a few buttons on her holographic screen. With a blur, the bubble vanished, depositing Alexander on the floor.
"I'll show you what to watch, lady..." Alexander grumbled, and wandered away from the central desks, as he didn't seem interested in trying to talk to Miss Tairee or her copies anymore. "What's everybody watching over here? Clear some room!" the man said, rudely budging a few people aside in the crowd that had formed to watch the battle outside.
Louie kept taking a few more steps back, only to stop and look as he heard a woman yell, "there you are Louie!" The green hair and primarily red outfit were still very familiar from the previous day, but this woman was no teenager; she had to be at least in her mid twenties. She was approaching down one of the streets, stopping some forty feet away or so.
"Huh? You... You look a lot like... But you're not her mom... Are you, Kaylie's aunt or something? Maybe cousin?" Louie wondered aloud, very confused.
"I am Kaylie, Louie" the grown Kaylie said with an exasperated look, folding her arms.
"What?! But, you can't be! Kaylie and I are the same age!" Louie insisted.
"You always were way too slow to catch on, Louie... Speaking of" Kaylie responded, unfolding her arms and bringing her hands together to fidget for a moment. "Here, you can have this back" she continued, tossing something small and glinting through the air at Louie; Louie caught it. One could practically hear the gears slowly grinding in his head just from his expression, as he stared down at the wedding ring.
"Easily the worst decision of my entire life" Kaylie remarked in a somewhat snide tone, then put her hands down to the pokeballs on her belt and added, "it's time to correct it."
With practiced flicks of her wrists, Kaylie quickly tossed all six pokeballs out to either side; each opened with a burst of light, except for the dusk ball, and the net ball. The sceptile, sableye, and tentacruel were seemingly the same ones as from the previous day, but they looked a bit bigger, and more experienced; the sableye wasn't glittery anymore, but instead had some kind of food she was idly nibbling on. The other half of the team had been changed though, and now were a galvantula with the fridge magnet that the electrode had,
◊ a minior with a small, white herb,
◊ and lastly an escavalier with a vest over its normally somewhat exposed belly.
◊
"Oh. That's not good..." Louie muttered.
Nobody on the ground would see the figure getting up on the library rooftop via jetpack, nor see them running across the rooftop either; only when they did another jump off the side where the battle was taking place would any of them maybe see the soldier. They were wearing armor much like Caboose's and Washington's, and holding a rifle of some sort. They flew above a portion of the battle to go out of sight again, now onto the main deck of the Thunder Child. Then, gunshots started to sound off up there, followed by the crackle of lasers and phaser fire; one of the militia seated on one of the ship's deck cannons glanced back over their shoulder, then took a burst of rifle rounds through the head, dying instantly and then slumping off the seat.
"SHIT! WE'RE BOARDED! HOSTILE ON BOARD WITH A- GHARHG-" Greg's voice was heard through the militia's channel, particularly on Fastanook's walkie talkie, before cutting off to more gunfire.
"Oh no. This is bad" Fastanook muttered, letting go of the two unconscious Asains and stepping away, looking up at the Thunder Child with wide eyes. "Can someone get up there to help? Rex?" the gremlin wondered, before his ears twitched, hearing some familiarly heavy footsteps coming around the corner of a nearby building; Fastanook looked that way, and eagerly asked, "hey! Marcus! Give us a hand, will ya'?!"
Although admittedly extremely similar, the space marine that stepped into view was not Brother Marcus.
◊ "Silence, xeno" the devastator's modulated voice stated firmly, and he lifted the heavy bolter up, and fired a burst of rounds. With a brief look like a deer caught in headlights, Fastanook took a quick dash to one side to avoid the first few rounds, which exploded seemingly harmlessly against the library's glass exterior. However the gremlin exploded into multiple chunks of gore as two of the rounds still hit him anyway.
"NOOOOO!!!" Veela's muffled scream from inside the library lobby was faintly heard. The space marine didn't pay it any mind.
"WHERE IS MARCUS!?!" the devastator demanded fiercely, looking back and forth at the various combatants.

Seeing Washington stumble, blinded, Garrett took his chance. He pulled out a fire arrow and fired it at Washington, trying to compensate for the Trooper's movement as well as he could.
After all, he needed Washington dead. Because he needed Caboose alive. The sooner the naive moron was back from the dead, the more time Garrett had to rob him blind in a bid to complete the Designer's challenge.
However, after firing the arrow, Garrett looked around, swore under his breath and made a beeline back to the library. The place was getting too hot.
Heatblast winced, looking back at Louie as his flames started to get put out by the water, even as the torrential rush of water started to subside.
"Do I look okay to you?!" Heatblast snarked. At last, the water cleared up, especially when Hercules shot the hydrant with an arrow.
Gwen furrowed her brow, eyes glowing pink as she heard Louie's command, seeing Goldeneye and Pecha appear before her and Pecha leap off the creature's head.
With a swift gesture, she encased the oncoming Trapinch in a pink bubble of magical energy, leaving it floating there helplessly. This, however, distracted her from Hercules' attack, and the two arrows hit their mark.
She grunted in pain as she was struck in the side with two arrows, glaring at Hercules.
Clenching her teeth, she raised her arms and started raining magical energy bolts down at the Greek hero.
Meanwhile, Heatblast looked over at the new intruder and just looked hopelessly confused, as his fire started to return.
"What the heck??" Heatblast asked. "Is that your friend again? And what was that thing? Whatever! I'm not in the mood to play games anymore!" he insisted. With that, he seemed to flare up and he shot a huge wave of fire in the direction of Kaylie and her team.

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.Cole looked up at Makoto as she finally gave in and headed outside...as he fairly well knew she would, at some point. Just because he couldn't read minds anymore didn't mean he couldn't recognize that particular behavioral trait, and somehow, almost everyone in this city he'd made friends with had it. Honestly, so had a lot of the folks back home in Thedas, too.
Arcade didn't seem to have that same compulsion, though, and really, Cole thought he appreciated that. It wasn't that his father wouldn't fight, but more that he'd just really rather not, which was where Cole sort of thought he was as well.
Still, there was a crowd starting to form around the windows to watch the goings-on out there, with one especially rude man pushing at people, and Cole moved to clutch at Makoto's pile of books, intent on protecting them from getting knocked over or lost in the shuffle. "You don't have to be so mean," he scolded in the general direction of Alexander, frowning a bit.
Fleeing Library
Washington was just starting to get his vision back when he felt something hit his arm. The arrow itself lacked the power necessary to breach his armor, but the fiery explosion that accompanied the impact had a bit more of an effect. "You have got to be kidding me! he yelled as flames spread over the arm.
He was able to continue running for a bit, though, and finally managed to get out of sight. Not taking a moment to breathe a sigh of relief, he immediately got on the ground and began rolling to extinguish the fire.
By the Library Door
Freckles lay next to Caboose's lifeless body. Now that it had been long enough, the body heat had begun to fade from the corpse. This was what let Freckles determine that Michael J. Caboose was not alive anymore. "Requesting assistance," it said plainly into the open air, somehow sounding furious despite the mechanical monotone. "Someone pick me up."
Why is a yam attacking me?Alexander glanced at Cole briefly, and scoffed, turning his attention back towards the fight outside. "Kid, if you expect me to be nice in the midst of this elaborate kidnapping scheme, then you have some wildly naive expectations" Alexander said, in a way that was almost as if it wasn't even directed at Cole in particular. "At least now there's something to watch. Would be better if I had a nice brandy right now" the man thought aloud, watching the battle with a somewhat bored expression.
You are reading this.Rex tried to move his arm which was definitely easier said than done when such a large and heavy weapon was sticking out of it. He tried to pull it and was met with resistance. Moving the sword at all hurt and it was hard to not let it tear more flesh on its way out. He did manage to take it out but the amount of blood was significant and it was already getting to Rex—mostly the sight of it. After unceremoniously dropping the sword to the ground, he built a smack hand on his uninjured arm. Hopefully his nanites were already fixing the damage. He probably wouldn't bleed out anytime soon but these kind of injuries tended to linger.
"You are really hurting my chances of becoming a pro guitarist, you know?"
"You don't play the guitar" Six claimed.
"...I've been thinking about it!"
Joker took the opportunity to catch his breath and summon his persona again. He looked desperate, but that just made him even more dangerous. Luckily, another persona was there to keep him in check. Sort of, basically Makoto almost ran him over with Anat. Apparently Six's appearance was the last straw for her. She was known for not sitting still when people were in trouble but Rex really expected she wouldn't have to fight at least right now.
"...are you sure you want to do this?"
Meanwhile, Six managed to roll away from the phaser shots, getting closer and closer to Rex with his sword at the ready. The fact he was hunched made it look like he would jump at any moment and with an injured arm, Rex could not take any chances. He managed to shove him away but Six just got pushed back and smiled. He revealed the second sword he had taken from the ground.
"The world doesn't revolve around you, kid"
"No offense but I barely listen to the real Six. I'm not going to take life lessons from a fake"
The amount of fakes only increased, and their threat levels with them. The Thunder Child was in trouble now and before Rex could answer if he was up to the task—it would be hard for him to fight while still healing—Fastanook got hit with a bolter shots.
"Uh, I don't thi-"
Off in the distance, from where the shot that killed Fastanook had been killed, one could see a giant armored brute, just as heavily armed as the ultramarine everyone knew and loved and with the tough personality to match his exterior. He was looking for Marcus, which was not surprising. Naturally his loved one was basically a bigger badder version of himself.
"Who's asking, his boyfriend?"
Kaylie frowned as she saw the fire, but reacted quickly. She grabbed the escavalier by one of its lances, pulling him and herself behind the tentacruel while issuing commands, "barrier! Volt switch! Synthesis!" A bubble of light appeared around the tentacruel, protecting itself, Kaylie, and the escavalier from the flames. The galvantula fired off an electric bolt towards Heatblast, while also leaping back and away from the flames. The sableye and minior simply took the brunt of the attack but didn't seem terribly off; the sceptile however staggered back and was looking pretty bad... Until with another flash of light, he switched into his mega form, and stood back up to his feet, seeming to gather strength and energy as if just from the surrounding air. (the light, actually)
Louie looked up from the ring to see the sceptile transform, and let out a little gasp of astonishment. "So that's what she was talking about in the call..." Louie thought aloud, then looked to Heatblast and added, "careful, I think her pokemon are a lot stronger than yesterday!"
"Like you would know anything about strong pokemon" Kaylie said, looking out from around the tentacruel. "But I guess I'll show you. Power gem, and swagger! On his firey friend there!" she continued, pointing to Heatblast. The sableye stood up straight, putting her arms out and grinning a bit more, then started prancing about to showoff. The minior meanwhile had a floating ring of crystals form around itself, which started firing off lasers towards Heatblast.
Pecha blinked a couple times in the bubble, but didn't seem very annoyed; she started idly trying to knaw at the inside of bubble. Goldeneye had its ring of eyes blink in sequence, then hummed angrily and shot Gwen at point blank with beams from its arms, using extrasensory. Swishee landed herself next to the busted fire hydrant, still spraying out water; there she honked insistently a few times.
Elsewhere on the battlefield, Nimbus chirped in his closest pokemon equivalent of, 'I knew it!'... Then with little other tactical option that made sense, shot the weather ball beam of fire right at Joker again. Lil' Sunny squeaked in worry a couple times, preparing to attack again, but paused and looked over towards the revolving door as she heard something. She quickly waddled over, which wasn't actually very far since the two of them hadn't actually left the area just outside the door yet.
Lil' Sunny tilted her head, giving an inquisitive and worried squeak, then extended some vines from her hands again, wrapping them around Freckles and lifting the rifle off the ground; the fact that he was over twice her weight and three times longer than her height didn't seem to slow her down as much as would be expected, though she did struggle a bit to maintain proper balance as she lifted him above her head. After a brief pause, she squeaked again in confusion, clearly unsure what she was supposed to be doing next.
Meanwhile, the space marine tilted his helmet just a bit to one side as he looked over at Rex. Then, the astartes' helmet tilted back, and he laughed; a genuine, though short chuckle. Then, he went back to normal composure, facing Rex down directly. "Not quite. His mentor" the ultramarine answered, a hint of a light hearted nature in his tone. "You may be humorous, but unless one of you heretics is going to give me the answer I seek, then you all have no use to me..." he said in a more serious and threatening tone, lifting the heavy bolter and seeming to think, before aiming it at Makoto and adding, "starting with her, how about?"
A figure came approaching from another alley nearby, coming up towards the situation from behind Six. There was a familiar slithering movement and well endowed silhouette, however when she spoke, it was clear it was not quite Silanea. "You humans can't even get along with each other" the copy of Akyaliha, Silanea's mother, said in a criticizing tone, as she prepared a floating ethereal shield with one arm, and a pair of floating ethereal blades above her with the other. "Well, need a hand?" she then asked towards Six, in a somewhat rhetorical tone.

You are reading this. There were a lot of people in the library, but it didn't look like they had been eating anything. In fact, most of them were busy looking outside at all the noise and the screaming that was happening past the walls. Some people left too, and added more screaming and more noise to the whole thing. It sounded like there was a lot going on out there. But I still had a lot going on too.
I knew I couldn't feel pain any more, but I didn't know if I was cured or if I'd just gotten healed and everything would come back. I knew I was somewhere else, and that I probably wasn't dead at all. And I knew I was very, very hungry, but there wasn't really any food around. But I didn't really know what to do from there. Sure, I was cured, but I was still by myself, in a place I didn't know, with no food or water. I didn't have a home, I didn't have any medicine, I knew almost no one, and no one knew me. Maybe it was time for me to go out there to look for something to eat... but not through the crowded side, there was a lot happening and I didn't want to get caught in the middle.
So I turned around and walked to the other side of the building, but instead of stepping outside right away, my attention got caught by the door. It wasn't like normal doors, this one had four little doors and every time I moved one, the others moved with it, and they spun on and on, and then when they stopped I just pushed one of them a bit and they would start spinning again. But did they spin in the other direction? Oh yes, yes they did.
It was during one of those spins that the black cat from outside showed up. It wanted to come in, I could tell by the way it started to meow at me. So I spun the doors a little bit and let it walk into the building. It gave me another meow, and then went and lied down on one of those beds that were around in the building.
It made me forget about the hunger. I'd stopped thinking about the food. I just wanted to look at it from up close. So I approached it, and it just kept staring at me with its golden eyes. It let me run my hand across its back, and it made this little rumbling sound.
It was nice. Hopefully it wouldn't mind me doing it for a little bit longer.
Outside, near the library door
As Garrett ran towards the library, he heard Freckles ask to be picked up, and he stopped in his tracks. A vague thought formed in his head.
He held out his arm to Lil' Sunny. "Give it to me! I'll keep it safe for Caboose," he said, although he was unsure how much the Pokemon would understand of his words.
"You don't have to be nice, but being rude isn't going to help you get home sooner and it'll just make people be rude back to you." Cole made a little bit of a face at the man. "You seem like someone who doesn't know how to be nice to people...but it's not hard to do. You treat them what you'd like them to do to you."
Alexander let out a short laugh. "Seriously kid? That's some fairy tale stuff; the real galaxy doesn't work like that" Alexander said somewhat dismissively, not even looking over at Cole. "The galaxy which I own, by the way. So no, I'm not going to treat other people the way they're supposed to treat me" the man added, then narrowed his eyes a bit while looking over at the lamia that had showed up outside, and muttered to himself, "huh, never seen gene mods do that before."
Meanwhile, over at the central desks, with much of the rest of the lobby basically empty, a Miss Tairee copy could clearly see Ellen starting to interact with the cat. The Miss Tairee copy shook her head, and all four of her tried to busy herself with work on their respective screens. After a few more hesitant glances towards the girl and cat though, the main Miss Tairee sighed in resignation and annoyance, and did a little more typing.
There was a blur nearby Ellen and the cat as another Miss Tairee copy appeared. "I wouldn't recommend getting too friendly with him" the Miss Tairee copy said in a neutral tone, eying the black cat.

While the Castform's attack was a direct hit on Joker, all the Weather Ball did was activate his still intact Makarakarn barrier, which reflected the fire beam back at the pokemon. The barrier shattered afterward, and Joker took the opening to try and get away.
"Brave Blade!" Arsene darted forward and summoned a powerful energy sword to slash at Nimbus. At the same time, Joker fired his grappling hook up at the library's roof and pulled himself away. He'd try to finish this later...
Makoto winced as Rex pulled the sword out, but did't make a move to leave his side. This was too much for anyone to handle alone.
"I'm not letting you get dog-piled out here, I want to help," she insisted. Fighting Marcus had been hard enough, let alone an even more armored friend of his. This wasn't going to be easy, but there had to be a way to wear him down and help save the militia's ship. Makoto frowned as the Space Marine singled her out. "You're pretty arrogant if you think you can take me down in one shot too." And of course, Silanea's mother was here to add to the difficulty. 3 on 2, not good odds for them. Anat glowed and used Marakukaja on Makoto and Rex, temporarily boosting their defenses.
"You might want to get in the air if you can," she said to Rex. "I'll try to keep you healed up, but we need to stay moving!" She revved her motorcycle's engines and drove towards Akyaliha, aiming to ram the Lamia after blinding her with a flash of Anat's headlights.

Outside The Library
Any sort of response Louie might have gotten was lost as soon as his Pokemon began to attack. The blast of flames hit Joker hard in the chest, knocking him a few feet away. He forced himself up with some difficulty, and then had to contend with razor sharp leaves. It was difficult to keep track of the multiple angles he was being attacked from. Should've slowed the kid down first, but it was impossible to predict that he could teleport away. And that bird was still in the sky somewhere... This was much more of a fight than he wanted to have. His target was in the library, and he had no way to draw her out here. Arsene disappeared.
