The Trope Repair Shop is currently closed for new thread (as stated by a sticky forum thread). In spite of this, people still try to create new threads in that subforum. Perhaps they didn't see that thread because it didn't stand out enough?

My suggestion: Make a flashy banner at the top of the page detailing important announcements for the subforum. Announcements such as, "The Trope Repair Shop is currently closed for new threads. See here for more information".

Why is it still possible to create new TRS threads if there's a blanket ban on them?

Because the staff hasn't asked for a tech level enforcement.

TRS has been reopened, so closing this thread as moot.
