Day twenty three, debris and hubris

• Characters are back to their normal selves, including outfit, abilities, and all items, plus those they have received in the city.
• The city has been entirely replaced with an underground labyrinth, with no evident edge, or middle. All of the notable locations of the city, including the library, are gone.
  • Since the library is gone, the radio antenna tower on its roof is also gone, so long range communications are impossible.
  • The upper areas of the labyrinth are like natural caves, and are sporadically inhabited with various monsters that would typically inhabit underground terrains. Anyone who tries to tunnel up higher will only find themselves still being in those upper areas, no matter how far up they try to travel. There is no sky to find and thus no light from it, thus the caves are mostly rather dark; some lighting can be found in the form of glowing mushrooms, fungus, some bugs, and occasionally, lava. There is no direct issue with oxygen content of the air despite there being no outside.
  • These monsters in the upper layers can be spawned in and controlled by players, OOC. As always with these rules, please refrain from spawning in monsters on other players' characters without their permission. These monsters are generally though not necessarily hostile to the characters, and though they will fight each other if need be, they'd probably much rather pick on easier looking targets...
    • Addendum: These can include intelligent, even tool-using enemies, however they will still be generally hostile and any kind of negotiating would be difficult, if not impossible, because they also will not be automatically translated by the city.
  • Going down into the labyrinth goes into underground labs, which are abandoned and in disrepair; there are no monsters tied to these zones, though they can still be hazardous due to toxic chemicals and broken machinery.
  • The further down one travels into the labs, the less in disrepair the labs seem, but they are still abandoned.
• All characters start the day at random spots in the upper areas. Where they were during the transition and who they were with does not matter; it is entirely random where they are placed. This even includes characters who are operating the inseparable rules. The upper areas are also where everyone respawns after death, even if they were deep into the lower levels when they died.

Now uh, I actually goofed up when switching to the new computer and didn't probably back up my file about who hasn't posted during Day 22. However, looking through the current active list and trying to remember, I believe it's Ominae, Alley Dodger, Fantasy Liver, Azure Rain, and Gundam Pharmacist; Ominae actually specified that he was sitting out the day on purpose however, so he won't be removed from the active list unless he goes through all of Day 23 without posting either.

As always, feel free to wrap up Day 22 stuff in flash back style, but also as always, please try not to drag it on too long.

EDIT: Okay, and I'm gonna go ahead and get going for tonight. Tomorrow I'm sleeping in with no alarm set, so I'm not sure when exactly I'll be on. I expect later than when I hopped on before work, but probably not a whole lot later. Maybe an hour later, or two. Though I will of course try to remain fairly active, I am expecting to be doing more of hanging out with my RL friends now, along with other things that have taken the back burner while I waited to both get on the new computer and then get Day 23 started; so for the rest of this week, maybe next week too, I might still be kinda slow on posting.

EDIT: Okay, with that post and being up a bit later than I intended to be, I'll be going for tonight. Tomorrow I'm not sleeping in since I have to go early tomorrow night, so I should be on a bit earlier than I was today. Probably not a whole lot earlier, but still.

Well, the stuff I wanted to do before getting on ended up taking more time than I expected, so so much for getting on earlier; my apologies, folks. I'm going to check on Discord and then start working on a post, but first while I'm posting here anyway, I have my schedule for next week:

As a reminder, I have a moderate, early shift tomorrow, Sunday, so I will have to go pretty early tonight. I'm also planning on probably swinging by the grocery store after work, before coming home, and also doing a load of laundry. After that, Monday is a somewhat long evening shift, Tuesday is a very long evening shift, and so is Wednesday, just at a slightly different time; all three of those, I do not expect to have time to get on before work, so unfortunately it's three days in a row of me not being on until pretty late at night, I'm afraid. Thursday and Friday are off next week, I will want to go out one of those two days to get something done, but that won't take super long. Next Saturday is a somewhat long early shift, and next Sunday is a moderate early shift, same as tomorrow.

Thankfully, there aren't any days where I expect not to be able to post at all, but I do expect I'll probably just be doing one post on some of those evening shift days.

EDIT: Well, I better go ahead and get going for tonight. Given when tomorrow's shift ends, I would normally expect to be hopping on around an hour earlier than I did today, but I'm also planning on swinging by the grocery store right after work, so that's probably going to eat up half an hour of my time or so. Oh, also, I'll be doing laundry after work tomorrow too.

Phone post, sleep last night went terribly, so I'm going to rest while my laundry is going. Should be on for real in a bit over an hour. Also, there's been a change to my work schedule this week; I'll give the details when I get back.

Guess he'll have his tac backpack only and the pistols for now. I'll need to look and see what he has (Aside from clothes) before I sat the day out due to being in Canada to take care of personal stuff.

Anyway, I am finally actually here now and recapped. My laundry is fully done already, due to the time it took first drugging and then shaving the cat; at least this year I finally realized a simple trick that made her so much more cooperative. I didn't really get any more sleep, just some resting, so I'm still kind of out of it though; gonna take me a while to think through what I need to post, I think. Anyway, before I get started on that I'll be checking up on Discord.

Quick new post because I completely forgot to mention those schedule changes:

There's one small change, which is Wednesday's shift being a bit longer by starting a bit earlier. Then the first of two big changes is that I won't have Thursday off, but instead will have a somewhat long evening shift that starts fairly late. Lastly instead of the early shift Saturday, I'll have a short evening shift instead.

Normally I would certainly be able to get on for a bit before work Thursday given how late it starts, but under the circumstances and the rest of the week, I will probably be going out to get that thing done before work instead, sorry to say. Also Saturday I will not be able to be on for very long, but I should still be able to post.

EDIT: Well, I should get going for tonight now. So unfortunately tomorrow starts four days in a row where I likely won't be on until pretty late, and the other nights are going to be even later than tomorrow. Anyway, as for how late I expect to be on tomorrow... Probably around the same time I initially made this follow up post about my schedule changing, actually. Handy coincidence, that.

Alright, I am here now and fully recapped; I actually had to stay at work about half an hour extra, and had to take care of garbage and recycling when I got home. The only reason I'm here as early as I expected is that I actually skipped doing some things that I intend to get to after posting. Speaking of which, I'll get started on that right after I check on Discord.

EDIT: Well, I guess that's going to be it for tonight. Tomorrow should be pretty similar; I will probably be on a bit more than half an hour later than I was tonight, depending on how things go. Also I will probably be doing laundry after I get back. I am sorry again for the slow pace of things; life is just continuing to decide to be busy for me.

Oh, but in mild good news, I've realized a little change I can do for my schedule this week, that will let me actually hop on for a while before work Thursday.

Considering that I had to swing by the grocery store after work and start a load of laundry after I got home, and didn't get off work early either, I think I made pretty good time today. Anyway, I'll be seeing about working on a post fairly soon, after I check up on Discord.

EDIT: Okay, with that tiny post just so that Korodzik doesn't have to wait until tomorrow on posting, I'll be going for tonight. Tomorrow starts the latest scheduled shifts of this week; although I do expect to probably get to clock out early actually, I wouldn't necessarily count on it. If I do have to work as late as it's scheduled, then I probably won't be on until around half an hour later than when I got on tonight.

Okay, and I am back from work and recapped now. I'm not in a big hurry to post, since I was able to post earlier today, and I know most of you are probably in bed already. Still, I will start working on one after I check on Discord and do some other things.

EDIT: Okay, with that little post since Korodzik has now posted, I'll be out of here for tonight. So, tomorrow I should be online fairly early in the day, but I have a previous engagement going on that might mean I won't be trying to post for a few hours, possibly. I'm also still not sure exactly when I'll be online, as I want to run out and get something taken care of after I wake up, and it depends on how long that takes. So my rough estimate is somewhere in the ballpark of getting online around thirty minutes later than when I hopped on before work, or probably a bit later.

Okay, previous engagement is now finally over, along with other stuff I didn't expect to take as long as it did today. Anyway, my apologies to those who have been waiting on me, I will now be starting on a post, though I am a bit distracted so it might still take a bit.

EDIT: Alright, well little post for that combat scene so Korodzik won't be left waiting until tomorrow, and I'll be out of here for tonight. Tomorrow I won't be on until after work, but with it being a short shift that actually won't be terribly late. Probably around the same time I made this discussion post today, actually.

Unfortunately I won't be around for too long since I have to go early tomorrow night. I should probably have a finished work schedule for next week, though.

Alright, I am here now and fully recapped. I got off work on time, but got some free food there of the kind that is only good if eaten right away, so I was a bit delayed getting home. I'm going to check stuff on Discord and then work on a post; probably only one post, since I only have about an hour and a half to be on.

As I mentioned before though, I have my schedule for next week: After tomorrow's moderate early shift, Monday is a moderate evening shift. Tuesday is a fairly long evening shift. Wednesday is an extremely long evening shift by way of starting a good deal earlier than my evening shifts usually do. Thursday is a long evening shift. Friday I have off and I plan on going to get something done. Next Saturday is an extra long evening shift. Next Sunday I have off.

Of note: Monday and Thursday I should be able to hop on briefly before work. Because of Wednesday's early starting time, I actually won't have a whole lot of time Tuesday night, but it shouldn't be quite as bad as tonight.

Oh, and just going to mention now that I should be on earlier tomorrow. Should be around four and a half hours earlier than I got on tonight.

Okay... I am finally back and recapped. I agreed to just clocking out early instead of getting a break today... But then neither happened. So damn I am worn out. It seems like it's been pretty quiet today actually, considering how long I've been gone. I'll still see about posting tonight, but, holy crap.

Oh also @Locoman: I do kinda have to put a GM brakes on Rick's action since, if his portal gun does work that way, then he's carrying around an effective one-shot-instakill device that can't really be defended against, and that's just OP.

EDIT: Tiny post because why not, and with that I must go for tonight. Tomorrow I should actually be able to hop on briefly before work. Somewhere in the range of like... Seven and a half hours before I got on tonight. The shift is scheduled to end the same time tonight's was, so unless I get off early or something, I won't be back on after work until around the same time though.

Damn, I am finally on. Tonight's shift may not have been as long as yesterday's, but it was a fair deal harder, and I had to stay about twenty minutes extra. Anyway, I'll see about posting, after I check on Discord and unwind a bit.

EDIT: And with that tiny post with a mild attempt at being 2spoopy, I need to call it for tonight. So tomorrow I have the day off, and as such I should be online a whole lot earlier than I was today. Exactly how much earlier is hard to say, since I'm gonna go out and do something right after I get up, and I'll need to do something once I get home, too. My alarm is set for about an hour earlier than when I hopped on before work today, so that's the latest I'll be getting up, and I doubt that everything I need to do will take more than... I wanna say two and a half hours. So, around an hour and a half later than when I hopped in before work is the latest that I expect to be getting on, and hopefully I'll be on earlier than that.
