I do not look forward to Cole's response to such a day [lol]

I was trying to think of what might transition from a water day to a scary day (Day 13) but I got nothing there that we didn't already have for Day 11. So I'm gonna pick at random and say it's the laboratory day that got mentioned in chat a bit. Tunnels underwater, tunnels in a lab that are scary, IDK.

I dreamed day 12 was theatre related. I don't even know how that would be supposed to work.

I still hope Day 12 is either prehistoric themed or mythology themed.

...but I'm very biased so maybe not. Also I just got the ocean day I've been clamoring about so it's someone else's turn.

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.

I would love for either of those. Oh, the prehistoric fauna and myths I could play around with... But we sort of got the mythology one in the fairy tale day, if you think about it.

Wait, you were the one clamoring for it? Huh. Why am I not surprised.

Also was planning on posting starting the next in-game day.

Here now, fully recapped. Just asked Cole Minor about it on skype and now I'm going to work the next post for Nails into the transition post. So that's going to be the next post I make; probably not for a while though, since there's still a load of typing to be done on my end.

And again at some point, (I'm planning in about two hours or so) I'm gonna pause to go get myself dinner.

Day twelve, the last confine

  • Characters are their normal selves.
  • The city is completely replaced and is now in space, resembling an extremely scaled down solar system.
  • A 1,000 meter wide, white colored "star" acts as the center piece and provides the only natural source of light.
  • The buildings of the city have been converted to a futuristic style, and either orbit the star independently as a space station or sit on one of many small "planets".
    • These "planets" come in a wide variety of sizes and styles, each having their own personal gravity (most don't have very much) and individual day/night pattern from their rotation relative to the star. (most have a very short cycle) Most of them do not have any atmosphere.
    • IMPORTANT: The city shifting still affects these planetary bodies in the positions relative to each other and the star, but the contents on each of them do not shift, and you cannot be shifted from one to another.
    • The library in particular is sitting on a massive book with a blank cover.
    • The balconies are floating on their own with a glass dome cover and each having ten airlocks around the edge of it.
    • All buildings, in addition to being atmospherically sealed with airlocks and having their own life support systems, contain self-renewing racksnote  of "librarian approved one size fits all space suits". These "suits" appear to just be a glass helmet, until someone puts it on, when it will then grow a form fitting suit over their body that seems to be made of latex; a little display will be placed on the wrist (or equivalent extremity) showing a one hour long countdown for how long the user has until the suit runs out of breathable air. Though these suits do allow for traveling in and breathing in the vacuum of space, they provide no other functions or protection, including any backup safety or self-repairing function if the suit is compromised.
    • While the simple suits described above are in every building, some buildings also contain other relevant items for space travel, such as more robust suits, and space ships. And yes, this time some of them do have weapons, but there isn't any large, military style ships.
  • While there are no hostiles spawning in for the day, there are scaled down versions of typical space genre environmental hazards, (both realistic and as would be depicted by Hollywood) such as meteor showers, stray comets, wormholes, gravity wells, black holes, solar radiation, and so on. These may be used by players OOC as they see fit in their posts, but you may not autokill anyone else's characters with these; also, nothing that would completely destroy any of the buildings or planets. (For purposes of not creating huge headaches in terms of posting and continuity, nothing may create any kind of time dilation effect. Yes, even if they normally should. No exceptions.)

Written on the boss plaque on Miss Tairee's desk:

The heroes of this city have faced many challenges, and by now should be used to being the stars of any battle. But how would you fare being forced to a smaller role? How would you handle being caught in the tide of a greater conflict?

Written on the reward plaque on Miss Tairee's desk:

Even with death being pointless in the city, many of you still find the idea of going to the extreme for any injury rather morbid. With the next challenge completed, a perpetually stocked hospital will be added to the city for you to staff.

Achievements unlocked!

  • I'm sorry, were you fighting that?
    • Miss Tairee helps fight a daily boss.

  • Welcome to the Fourth of July!
    • A player character sacrifices themself spectacularly to defeat a daily boss.

  • In the criminal justice world...
    • The militia becomes fully established and gains a suitable headquarters.

The following is being added to the notable locations section of the first discussion post:

  • The prison: A large, almost fortress-like structure, with big walls and guard towers surrounding a main complex and courtyard area. While on the premesis, nobody is capable of harming themselves directly or indirectly; however, break day rules are not in effect, so they may still harm others. The militia is utilizing the structure for both its intended purpose, and as their headquarters.

And also the following is being added to the notable NPC groups section:

  • The Fanboys: A collection of various geeks and hobbyists who have decided to enjoy the multiversal nature of the city, in particular the nature of how everything they thought to be fiction is real out there somewhere. They've adopted a pacifist approach, to avoid arguments among themselves getting out of hand, and because they feel their place is to be observers, not participants; they are however, for the most part, very genre savvy. Their symbol is a stylized green hand giving a thumbs up. Given their philosophy, they don't care much about interacting with the other major groups, but do like to observe what they do. They do not have an official headquarters, but can be commonly found in the cinema. They do not have an official leader either. Their theme.

Other entries such as the militia's and the cinema have been slightly edited accordingly.

And for the first time with one of these day transition posts, I don't have anyone to remove from the active list. No achievement for going a day without anyone leaving though, since we still had some people leave, but they announced it beforehand so I already removed them.

And of course anyone who wants to wrap up their day eleven stuff with some handwaves, feel free. Though you should avoid dragging it out for continuity's sake.

And another robot character has entered the city.

And fun thought entered my head, Cole meets Guts from Berserk (No I am not changing, X is fun), Cole does his psychic reading shtick on Guts, result?

My personal guess is that he suffers a total shutdown just from experiencing all the shit Guts has gone through.

With that post, Zelda's out for now and Call's now in.

That being said, I'll probably switch back to Zelda in the future to finish up that subplot of hers. I just wanted to play as someone else for a while, and it didn't seem like Zelda would be overly helpful on this day anyway.

@Firock: Are the Latex Space Suits all a single, generic design, or can they be tailored to each character?

Also, for writing convenience, is it okay if I have Sophie open another door, only to step into a now-space themed area, fully refreshed as if she and Curly had slept?

@Demovere: The suits have to be different in order to fit different people, so yes on that part.

As for the other idea, no, that's not how the day transitions work. You could handwave Sophie getting some sleep though; there was a little bit of a timeskip in my post.

[up]No problem.

@Firock Finion: Wow, that's an awesome theme song.

Also a question: how extensive is the volume of the City/Solar System? How much distance is there on average between the various planets? Could one conceivably float in a space-suit from one planet to the other in a reasonable timeframe?

@Deis the Alcano: Me, I had a dream where the Boss sent Mary back into the City. Mary got over it pretty quickly, but I think Miss Tairee didn't know that right away, and was incredibly upset when she learned.

The system as a whole is still around 10 kilometers in width, though it's not an exact measurement like it normally is with the city. And there's much more of a 3 dimensional element this time around, obviously.

It varies but the average distance from any given planet to the closest near it would be I'd say 300-500 meters. So a timeframe depends entirely on how fast you could get flung from one towards the other. (And hope you don't miss/have some way to correct if you do miss.)

EDIT: Alright, I'm not sure about anything else to post right now, since I want to wait on Yomegami before posting for the little scene at the balcony. So I'm gonna get going for tonight.

But before I do, a heads up on next week's schedule: A much tamer week. The same number of days to work, but slightly different days and for the most part, pretty short shifts, and all later shifts. Aside from tomorrow's shift, I have shifts Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and the next Sunday. All of them are relatively short, except for Wednesday, which is still only moderate. Monday's shift is oddly early while still technically being a later shift, but other than that there's nothing in particular to note about next week's shifts.

As for tomorrow specifically, unless I go home early, (which is a more likely possibility on Sundays because that's almost always our slowest day of the week) I expect to be home and online around two and a half hours later than when I got online today.
