Oh darn it, forgot the diner scene. Edit incoming.
EDIT: Done.

You are reading this.Sad Rick and Morty is fun Rick and Morty.
Cole awkward attempts at friendship go.
- Characters are mostly back to normal save for two possible changes.
- Items or abilities that can create food are removed.
- Items or abilities that can create water or ice are changed so that said water or ice is contaminated and not safe to drink. It's basically sewage.
- The city did NOT restock its food storages at midnight, meaning only what was leftover from Day 8 is still avaiable. (And most of that is pet food.)
- The city is is now a desolate wasteland, many of the buildings are in ruins, none of the electricity or plumbing is working, and sand or dust covers nearly everything.
- The endless void surrounding the city is replaced with a desert that stretches out into an infinite horizon, starting just over the side of the railing. Anyone attempting to go out into the desert will find that no matter how far they travel away from the city, when they turn around they will still be within a short distance of the city. Out in this desert are massive books partially buried in the sand, almost blending in with large sand dunes.
- The heat from the fake sunlight above is especially hot and blistering today.
- Spawning occasionally here and there throughout the city are "zombies" in small groups.
- Players may spawn in some "zombies" and control them themselves, as long as they do not attempt to spawn some kind of boss encounter or a huge horde. Also, unless otherwise noted all "zombies" may be autohit and autokilled freely. Note this is you the PLAYER controlling the zombies, not your character.
- Anybody killed by a "zombie" still respawns normally however their body does not disappear; instead it will come back to life/unlife as the same type of "zombie" that had killed them.
- All "zombies" are on the same side and will not attack each other, even if normally they would.
- For the purposes of these day rules, a "zombie" is defined as the following: An inherently hostile, mostly mindless being that can propogate more of its numbers by attacking and infesting/corrupting other beings.note
Written on the boss plaque on Miss Tairee's desk:

Theme link. (Parov Stelar - Dark Jazz)
Achievements unlocked!
- It was for your own good!
- A player character kills another to make use of the respawn mechanics.
- Time does NOT only move when you do.
- An NPC group finished a subplot before the player characters.
And of course, unless I have somehow missed posts, the following players are being removed from the active list for not posting during Day 8: Darkomega 245 and Lizard Of Aus.
Also, updates to the subplots in the first discussion post:
"The cats that got dragged in" subplot is being removed, because the anti-humans resolved it.
"The glare of the limelight" is being added as a new subplot; read the section in the first post for details.
AS ALWAYS FEEL FREE TO WRAP UP YOUR DAY 8 STUFF WITH SOME HANDWAVES IF YOU'D LIKE.

You are reading this.Huh, this seems like an interesting one. Besides the zombies, I can see the heat being the biggest threat of the day. Lack of food isn't as much an issue for only a single day, but heat and no water is killer.
Will the ice or water people make with their powers be visibly contaminated? Or will someone have to drink it to find out?
That's the choice of the people using said item/ability, and whether they still want it to look the same or different.
You are reading this. And when things started to look hopeful too!
Question: Would the characters who have been turned into "zombies" still retain their mind and personality? Or do they act more "zombie"-like?

"A post per day keeps the GMs away!"You misread it. The character still respawns as normal; their dead body turns into a zombie, instead of disappearing like it normally does on other days.
You are reading this.Hrm.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Ahh. Got it.
And just when I thought of this fantastic idea of controlling a part of the zombie horde with Heartless/Feral/Zombie Viola acting as their leader XD
Ah well. A group of zombie followers is fine too~
"A post per day keeps the GMs away!"The players controlling them bit is about you, the player. Viola wouldn't control the zombies and you would have to keep the zombies in character and hostile.
The rule is just there so you guys can fight zombies yourselves without having to wait on me to control all of them all the time. Especially since you can autohit and autokill them freely.

You are reading this.Ahh. My bad. Sorry for misunderstanding >_<
"A post per day keeps the GMs away!"I added a bit to that rule to hopefully clear up that confusion for anybody else.
You are reading this.Actually figure I might as well ask. Is changing from one version of a character to another version of the same character considered the same as a regular character swap, and what hoops would I need to jump through to do it?
"Yup. That tasted purple."I'd consider it the same as a regular character swap. Especially if they're technically from alternate timelines and thus not the exact same person.
I would require you to make a new signup, though you could just copy-paste the old one and change whatever needs changing specifically.
You are reading this.Yeah, here it's just appearance and backstory fields.
"Yup. That tasted purple."FSKLBNREOUSBN-
I just remembered I forgot a significant thing in the day transition post. Gonna go edit that in.
You are reading this.I must say I really like this concept. It will make tensions rise in the team, force them to actively look out for food and water when it was always handed to them in a silver platter, and there are zombies! Or at least there will be.
I will post as soon as I can.

Alright, done. @Those who have already read the transition post: There's a bit more at the end of the "Somewhere..." portion now.
@Katarsus: When/if you switch to another character, there's a surprise awaiting Mary.
Anyway, with that done I'm gonna get going for tonight. Tomorrow I've got an evening shift, with again a chance albeit unlikely that I may be able to post before work. Otherwise, I won't be on until fairly late.
You are reading this.@Grimlock: Aw, crap >_< I've totally forgotten about that. Sorry!
"A post per day keeps the GMs away!"Crud, the transition happened while I was asleep!
Well, not all the characters will die of dehydration. Nick's a non-organic Synth, and Specter Knight's already dead.

Somebody once told me the world was macaroni, I took a bite out of a treeoh no oh no ohno ohno ohnohnonono
Zombies terrify the crap out of me. ._.
I will try to weather through this but this day is gonna be Nightmare Fuel for me.
Also usually I hate post apocalyptic stories. Plus aren't all the characters gonna dehydrate? I haven't seen water anywhere in the whole entire city for the entire length of the RP, and didn't you say that the plumbing doesn't work and all the water is contaminated???
Which leads me to my next question, contaminated with what? The zombie plague? Regular disease? Radiation? If it's just regular disease couldn't you just boil the water and it'd be fine??

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.I just realized the secretary pun, wow.
It's been 3000 years…Well, Jack's snow and ice might be undrinkable, but he can still generate snow and cold winds that would help fight the dehydration and heat exhaustion. Though, I'm still deciding if Jack knows from the start that any snow or ice he makes is contaminated or not.

@Firock: That's fine.
(holds pool noodle threateningly) Do you want to know what we do to artists?
