Okay so fandoms.
Video games I'm very much a Nintendo guy and also an indie guy, I generally play games that fit one or the other though there are a few exceptions (Kingdom Hearts, Bayonetta, Marvel vs Capcom, Street Fighter, Sonic, Megaman, early Final Fantasy games and probably more that I can't remember anymore) but mostly those two categories.
Anime, I like the art style but few anime really interested me. Fullmetal Alchemist (which kinda set the bar really high because omg it's so good) was the only anime that really made me stay to the end, but other anime that I like are the ones from way back like Yu Yu Hakusho, Inuyasha, Dragon Ball sorta. There were a few recent-ish anime that I liked though, the main one being Nurarihyon no Mago and that's because I'm a sucker for Japanese mythology
Books... I never read any, I'm a writer that doesn't read. RIP.
Movies I go with the typical superhero movies but mostly I prefer watching animation like Disney, Pixar and Dream Works stuff and I tend to like most of their works to some degree.

Not an anime fan either. Bear in mind I grew up in Latin America in the late nineties, everyone was crazy about Dragon Ball and Saint Seiya, I only watched Pokémon.
My list includes: Ben 10, Spider-Man (I've seen a few episodes of every animated adaptation including the short-lived one, the weird one, and the one everyone hates), Generator Rex (duh), Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Assassin's Creed, and as for other videogames just read this list
.

@Deadbeat: Yeah, I was considering Emily Miyuki myself. And some other characters before a friend of mine suggested Kouta
.
I enjoy many things, but I make it a point to not get into the fandoms of any particular thing.
I mean, I guess I do enjoy fan works some times, and I am a fan of a few things specifically, I just make it a point to never interact with other fans over the internet. That path is a dark one.

When it comes to television, most of my interest is in animation because I am a geek for good animation. I do enjoy the occasional reality show, but cartoons are my bread and butter when it comes to tv watching (when I have time to watch television anyway).
Anime is something I used to be super into but I've fallen out of love with in recent months. I wish to rekindle this relationship though.
Books...I usually only read those big fantasy novels. Rule of thumb is if it's written by Brandon Sanderson, I've probably read it.
Video games are something else I really need to get back into. I've been a Nintendo kid since birth, but there's so much more out there that I want to try, I just haven't had time to do it yet. That and I don't know how video games work on computers (the fact that I'm a mac user might be an issue).
And since I'm playing a character from one, I'll go over webcomics too. I really only follow a handful of them, usually just the good ones, so if you hear me recommend a webcomic to anyone chances are it's at least decent.
That is all there is to say, and I will say no more.Never really cared or saw any anime at all, glad that i'm not the only one with the same thought in tvtropes.
As for the things I'm mainly on, they are mainly S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Undertale, Star Wars, Dark Souls, Team Fortress 2 and League of Legends.
And since I mentioned S.T.A.L.K.E.R...

I don't quite know how to articulate this in prose, but just assume that Morty is standing there watching all of this play out with his trademark o3o face
◊.
I'm in the minority for this rp and one of those people who are super into anime with a hint of western animation/shows like Avatar the Last Airbender. Books I am okay with anything fictional as long as it's good and games are anything with rpg elements in them with my least favorites being straight up racing/shooting stuff. XD
I have way too many fandoms to list off the top of my head but you'll prolly get to know them over the course of the rp. I'll also be happy to recommend anime to people that wanna try them but don't wanna be mired down by being bombarded with fanservice/weirdness from random picks too I guess.
I'm into Super Robot Wars (and any Anime that appeared in the SRW series) and Nintendo Games. I mostly enjoy romhacks of Super Mario World. I like Futurama and Rick and Morty. I'm interested in the lore behind the cards in the Yu-Gi-Oh card game. I'll list more as soon as I remember.

I have my main list of fandoms on my tropes page - most of it consists of cartoons and video games. I'm not really a fan of either live action or dark n' gritty video games like GTA, but I love Nintendo, and I really need to watch more anime because I know there's shows that I would obsess over out there, I just need to find them. Current obsessions jumped from Steven Universe to Undertale (hard) and then back to Steven Universe again; right now, I'm on a mercifully calm in-between in terms of fandoms. I've been meaning to watch Young Justice and Samurai Jack (and Generator Rex, and Code Lyoko, and Megas XLR, and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, and the rest of Adventure Time, and Bleach, and...), since I plan on working with animation and I'm trying to get influences from a lot of different places.
Currently writing something. Currently procrastinating.@Josh: I recommend you watch Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans for a mecha person like you. It's one of the best Gundam seasons out there and it started its own splinter timeline so you don't need to watch anything prior to it.
@Syrika: Looking through your stuff, I'd recommend you try Yuuki Yuuna Is a Hero which is a rather underrated yet incredibly well-written and well-made magical girl series.
Alright, back now and gonna try to post soon-ish.
For the record, the list(s) I gave before was just about stuff I know, not about stuff I liked; I included stuff I straight up disliked. They were also by no means complete. Like I forgot that I've played the Assassin's Creed series, (though not all of them) seen a number of Pixar and Studio Ghibli movies... Also anything that Markiplier has played through starting since last year I'm going to be familiar with by second-hand exposure. (The Five Nights At Freddies series and SOMA come to mind in particular.)
Anyway, I've always been good at picking up on themes of stuff and guessing upcoming plot and plot twists, especially ever since I discovered Tv Tropes and started to understand how different tropes tend to interact and be used alongside each other. So I don't personally think it's that much of an issue that I haven't seen/played/read a lot of the stuff your characters are from; as long as there's a comprehensive trope page(s), I'll get the gist of it just fine.
Oh, and as for stuff I'm for sure not going to know? Any kind of Fighting Game; I'm not good at them and don't particularly enjoy trying to play them. I like to watch them sometimes though. And comic books; just never got into them.

You are reading this.Studio Ghibli day might be a fun thing, although it'd probably be too specific to pull off.
"Morty, climb in the *urp* cat bus! I'm driv-I'm driving the cat bus, Morty! We're gonna go on a be-be*urp*eautifully animated adventure, Morty! We're gonna ride around in this cat... bus! We'll see all kinds of crazy sup-supernatural things, Morty! Cat bus!"
"Oh jeez Rick, I dunno, I mean, uh, that looks pretty gross i-i-in there. I mean, uh, the seats are all made of... cat flesh... Rick. Is that, uh, is this really a hygienic form of transportation? Rick, that cat bus, it's uh, lookin' right at me. It's creeping me out, Rick. Why does it, you know, need all those legs, huh? I got a bad feelin' here, Rick."
"Morty, stop *urp* stop wimping out and sit your ass in the cat *urp* cat-flesh chair. We're gonna have a good time, Morty, 'cause we'll be dubbed over *urp* by r-real popular celebrity voice actors. And awaaaaaay we go... oh boy, Morty, looks like the cops are tryin' to pull me over. *urp* Okay, Morty, take the wheel, I gotta go shoot out some tires."

I know absolutely nothing about Studio Ghibli stuff.
That said, "traditional Japanese" day would be pretty cool. A sort of reversal of the Japanese characters becoming Western for the fairy tale day; the Western characters become Japanese. And they have to fight some sort of traditional Japanese beastie like oni, or yamato-no-orochi.

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither. Some of Ben's aliens could even become youkai.
...I couldn't begin to tell you what youkai, but it's a possibility. Alternatively, it could simply be like what happened when Ben got zapped into Sumo Slammers and his aliens simply wear Japanese-styled clothing. For instance, Four Arms wore a samurai outfit.
I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.Once again, I'm not really planning on doing days specifically themed around one particular franchise or whatnot, so a Studio Ghibli day is not something I'd go for.
A Japanese themed day with plenty of Studio Ghibli references though? I've put it on the "maybe" list. I'd be more up for it if I knew more about Japanese culture.
Also, everyone talking about their favorite media stuff earlier got me thinking. What would you guys say to having a little social game-y thing going on in discussion thread, like once a week or so? Stuff like, "name your favorite [insert media type here]", or, "name something you think is bad, but liked anyway", or, "name something you think is an under-appreciated, hidden gem".
I could even do something like post it up every Sunday and everyone could answer whenever during the week they think up an answer/have the time to.
Anyone else think that could be fun, or is it a dumb idea?
