I do have an alternative option if you don't want an MLP character.

As for her age, that hasn't been given anywhere.

What is this "signature" of which people speak?

I mean, I would, but it's just a personal thing.note  Play who you want to play as; if that means a character from MLP I will just deal with it.

My only personal request would be that you not spam the discussion thread with MLP memes or else I might just go insane.

Ugh... I hate people like those who give the show and its fans a bad name. (Not to mention go against everything the show stands for.)

Don't worry, I won't make MLP jokes in the discussion.

So hooray for changing characters.

  • Story: Undertale
  • Name: Asgore Dreemurr
  • Age, gender and species: Adult, male, a boss monster (the strongest type of monster) that looks much like a goat.
  • Appearance: "Would you like a cup of tea?"
    • Something to note is that Asgore is really big, as in, he easily towers over an adult human.
  • Personality: Asgore is kind to a fault to the point of being a total pushover when he's not actually fighting (which he doesn't do very often either due to being a pacifist at heart, but he will fight if he has no other choice) even though he's one of the most powerful monsters in existance. He's very soft-spoken in spite of having quite a deep voice, treats everyone with respect and hospitality and generally acts in a rather carefree way when things aren't serious, though he can be a bit awkward at times and he can struggle to contain his emotions. He's also terrible at naming things.
  • Backstory: A long time ago monsters lost a war against humans and were sealed underground, one day, Asgore's son, Asriel, came back with a wounded human child that Asgore and his wife were both happy to adopt into their family. However the kid eventually became ill and eventually died, with Asriel absorbing his soul in order to be able to bring him back to his village as his last wish was to see the flowers of his village, there, the humans thought he had killed the human and attacked him but he refused to fight back, managing to come back to his home before succumbing to his wounds. Asgore, in a fit of anger, declared war against the humans in order to bring the monster hope that they would one day be able to leave the underground, his actions, however, disgusted his wife so much that she left and was never seen again. At the end of the day, Asgore didn't want to hurt anybody and only wanted to give his people hope that they would someday get their happy ending. Eventually it happened, however, and Asgore was enjoying himself before ending up in the city.
  • Skills/Powers/Abilities: Asgore is both incredibly strong and incredibly durable, being able to dish out and take a lot of pain. Outside of it, he's able to use fire magic against his opponents in a variety of ways, such as making a stream of fireballs that homes on the opponent's direction, fire them in curvy patterns or even make a circle of fireballs around the opponent that proceeds to close in on them.
  • Items: Asgore's weapon is a crimson trident that manages to be bigger than he is, other than that, he wears armor as well.
  • Other: Asgore can only age if he has a child, but thanks to his having died, this left him in a stage where he cannot die and as such determining his age is difficult, but he's old enough to probably having been the monsters' leader during the first war.

Well I still haven't played Undertale myself, and unfortunately both of my friends who have are not available right now. I'll check with one of them some other time just to be sure, but from what I know of secondhand and some videos I've seen, this seems accurate to me.

Of course, as for his size as long as he's at most around 10-12 feet tall so he can still fit indoors, (him having been shrunk on arrival if necessary) then that's fine. As far as balance is concerned, as usual I'm just worried about there being something keeping him from spamming that fire magic all day e'rry day.

Asgore Dreemurr is accepted.

@Firock Finion: Link to Angua's profile seems to be missing from the opening post.

@Ud: I'm not even sure if I will be able to participate before summer. I have quite a lot of studying these days.

Gonna be signing up as a Steven Universe character soon, even though I probably won't be able to jump in until later this month.

  • Story: Steven Universe
  • Name: Garnet
  • Age, gender, and species: Gem. Is ageless and genderless, but is technically over 5000 years old and is referred to as female.
  • Appearance: Garnet Under the Shades Ruby and Sapphire Garnet is a bit taller than the average human male, but Ruby and Sapphire are about the same size as children.
  • Personality: Garnet comes off as one of the more serious of the Crystal Gems. She is often straightforward and practical, acting as the level-headed leader of the current Crystal Gems. She isn't exactly stoic, as she's shown to care for and respect Steven multiple times, sometimes even more that the other gems, she can be quite competitive and prideful, and she can lose her cool when something important to her is disrespected or in danger. She often acts with intuition, thanks to her future vision, but she also prefers to use her gauntlets and her strength to solve more problems. She has strong feelings towards fusion, being a long living fusion of two gems herself. Her fusees are more extreme: Ruby is hotheaded and very emotional, while Sapphire is more rational and stoic.
  • Back story: As mentioned above, she is a fusion of two gems, Ruby and Sapphire. She considers herself an embodiment of the love the two gems that make up her. While it is unknown how long Ruby and Sapphire were in love, it is clear that they love each other very much and don't ever want to stop being Garnet. Garnet's motive for being part of the Crystal Gems is that it gives her the freedom she needs to be what she is. She has been the leader of the Crystal Gems ever since their original leader Rose Quartz gave up her physical form to give birth to Steven Universe. It's most likely because of her future vision and ability to keep calm in some tough situations.
  • Skills/powers/abilities:
    • Weapon Summoning: She can summon her Gauntlets using her gems. She is also capable of summoning other items, like goggles or her Cool Shades.
      • Rocket Fists: She can launch her gauntlets like missiles at enemies. She loses her hands when she does this until the gauntlets make impact, causing her gems to move where her hands would be.
      • Weapon Shapeshifting: She's also capable of making her gauntlets bigger if she needs them to be.
    • Shapeshifting: An ability of most gems, though Garnet seems to prefer the Rubber Man variant. All her forms still share her color scheme and the gems on her palms
    • Future Vision: Her third eye allows her to see possible future events and act accordingly. Comes from Sapphire. Removed for the sake of the roleplay.
    • Electrokinesis: Can generate a small amount of electricity, but doesn't often use this ability, preferring to use brute strength where possible.
    • Superhuman Fitness: Possesses strength, speed, and flexibility noticeably beyond the average human, even perhaps beyond the other Crystal Gems, though the flexibility part could just be her shapeshifting. Justified since she is a Fusion Gem. However, her strength seems to come from Ruby, while her speed comes from Sapphire.
    • Thermo-Regulation: Allows her to not be bothered by hot substances, including being able to swim in lava Has not quite been tested with cold environments. Likely comes from her components, as Ruby can heat things up while Sapphire can cool things down.
    • Levitation: Not an ability of Garnet per se, but Sapphire has been shown to do this before.
    • Regeneration: Like most gems, if her physical form is destroyed, her components will retreat into their gems to reform and can re-fuse into Garnet after they regenerate.
    • "Bubbling": Can put items into a thin, bubble-like barrier. Is normally able to teleport bubbles containing gems or other items to the temple where the gems live. The ability to teleport items is removed for the sake of the roleplay.
  • Items:
    • Gauntlets: Her main weapon of choice. Can be summoned or desummoned at will.
    • Shades: She's usually wearing these.
  • Other: Nothing I can think of.

Yeah I don't think Asgore is that huge, he's probably in the reasonable range. As far as balance is concerned, he could have a small cooldown period between attacks to prevent him from going too crazy with fire, that and it probably tires him out to use it too much.

@Fullmoon: Sounds reasonable. Also, got one of my friends to confirm the sheet was accurate. He also mentioned something about monsters from Undertale having a problem fighting anything purely evil and maleficent because it messes with the way they're made of pure magic? Seems weird to me.

But I'm willing to just sort of let it slide unless it really matters to you. Otherwise it seems like he'd be severely crippled/handicapped during some of the major boss fights.

@Star Bee: Unfortunately my friend who knows Steven Universe is currently not available. It looks accurate to me based on the Tv Tropes character entry.

As far as balance is concerned, I'm not really sure how her future vision could be represented in game beyond just giving her near carte blanche to ghost and autohit. Also there is actually a bit of a spoiler story reason that it couldn't work anyway, so I'd prefer it to be removed in the RP, yes.

And of course her "bubbling" ability will have to have the teleportation thing removed, since she is completely cut off from her own universe.

Other than that, it seems fine to me. Garnet is accepted.

It helps if you think of it less of a "100% accurate precognition" power and more like Spider-Man's spider-sense; it allows her to react very quickly, but it's by no means infalliable (she gets punched, tricked, surprised, etc. plenty of times in the show)

...I really gotta stop jumping into these kinds of conversations, don't I?

Ah yeah that's right, Asgore would be at a disadvantage fighting something that is made of pure evil, but I think unless it's someone that's like completely genocidal I think he would still be able to hold his ground fairly well, especially with help.

I apologize for this in advance. tongue

  • Story: One-Punch Man
  • Name: Saitama
  • Age, gender, and species: 25, Male, Human
  • Appearance: Just an ordinary guy who serves as an ordinary hero.
  • Personality: Apathetic. Saitama has long since forgotten his excitement to be a hero, and now is only given enjoyment by supermarket sales. Being so strong has taken all the challenge out of his heroics, and he longs for an actual fight rather than the usual one punch affair he gets. His emotions have dulled as a result of his lack of fulfillment in life, leaving him bored most of the time. He remains a hero, but not for adoration. Saitama will let others take credit for his deeds, and will make himself a target to protect others. While he will obliterate monsters, Saitama will hold back from killing humans. He also has trouble remembering peoples names.
  • Backstory: Once a lowly Salaryman, he was walking home from an unsucessful job interview when he saw a child being attacked by a monster. Using only his wits and necktie, he defeated the beast, and saved the child. That day, he vowed to be a hero. Thus he began his training regimen: 100 sit-ups, 100 push-ups, 100 squats and 10 km running EVERY SINGLE DAY. For three years he continued this, and in the process broke his limiter - the absolute cap on a being's strength that normally is impossible to break, for that beings own health and sanity - and obtained immeasurable power, losing his hair in the process. And then... he realized that being incredibly strong was boring. Since then he's met a cyborg who now pays his rent, made friends with some elite S-Class heroes, and punched various things. Maybe someday he'll get a real fight?
  • Skills/powers/abilities:
    • One Punch: Saitama is too strong. The shockwaves from his blows can level mountains and disrupt global weather patterns, he can jump from the moon back to earth, and even city-destroying monsters can only scuff his bald head. No enemy has ever actually challenged him, so the limit of his strength, if any, is unknown.
    • Faster Than Sonic: Perhaps due to his leg strength, Saitama is blindingly fast, able to casually outpace hypersonic ninjas and complete a 1500m dash in an instant. He can jump from side-to-side so fast he leaves a thousand afterimages, which also obscures his location. He can think and react this quickly as well.
  • Items: Nothing noteworthy

Alright, sorry about that; got caught up hanging out with my friends for hours.

Anyway, I'm familiar with the general idea of One Punch Man, but I have no direct experience with it; I know that one of my friends is at least somewhat familiar with it, but they're not available at the moment.

But taking a look through the character entry on Tv Tropes tells me that this seems accurate enough.

... Of course, as I mentioned before though, he's going to have to be nerfed. A lot. I know that being too powerful is literally his Exactly What It Says on the Tin gimmick, but that doesn't change the fact that he needs to be nerfed before I would accept him. His abilities almost reads like a checklist of what isn't allowed in the RP.

He can still have insanely strong punches; he can still be really durable; he can still be really fast. But he can't to that extent. At the very least, he should be no better in any of those aspects than... Best comparison I've got right now is the extremes in Ben's transformations. (As strong as Four Arms; as tanky as Cannonbolt; as fast as XLR8) Or even weaker than that if you want to play around with him being even further nerfed.

idea

Saitama can still defeat enemies with a single punch.....but only the very first enemy encountered. Meaning, whether he uses it on the Day's Boss or on a lowly Goomba, that's it. All other enemies will progressively need a higher number of punches to take out depending on how powerful they are, the counter will increase by 1 for every enemy defeated no matter how weak they are. Meaning, if Saitama defeats 100 Goombas, each only needing on punch to defeat, anything stronger will require a max number 101 punches to defeat.

That doesn't really solve the problem that, "can kill an enemy in one hit no matter what" still pretty explicitly breaks the rules I have in place. It doesn't matter if there's a, "but only once a day" caveat.

Also, with his stated speed, wouldn't he be able to punch hundreds of times every second if not nerfed? (Or does that literally only apply to his running speed?)

Saitama's pretty fast, but not every punch kills someone. He wanted the power to achieve victory in one punch, ergo his power literally is "Win in one punch" and that could be either killing or knocking out.

But yeah he's gonna have to be nerfed. But that would only make him happy because now he can't win every fight and that means excitement.

[up]Whoops typo.

Well the interesting part is that Saitama doesn't actually violate that rule. Conceivably someone absurdly strong enough could survive his hits. He's just so strong that he's never found anyone who could take a full-power punch from him without being vaporized. And yes, he can punch several hundred times a second, so that definitely has to be nerfed.

Anyway, limits: I'm not particularly familiar with the extremes of Ben's transformations, so I think it would be easier to make his limits based on categories. Note that these aren't absolute restrictions but just his general high-end.

  • Can destroy large buildings with single punches.
  • Can withstand attacks as strong as his own.
  • Can move several times the speed of sound, and punch around 20 times a second.

Something like that. Exact limits are up to you, of course.
