It's more of a mixture of both ED songs. And the first theme song playing during their Power Up is just as nostalgic.
This account is dead. I’ve said a lot of dumb things in the past and I wish to forget them. I’m sorry if I’ve ever hurt anyone.I know it's gonna be a while before the next season/cour, but I was wondering, do ya think characters from Tensai Bakabon will appear?
Both series do take place in the same area, Akatsuka Ward, and characters from both series have appeared in each others anime before. (Rerere and Policeman in Osomatsu '88; Iyami and Chibita in Bakabon '00) Also, Osomatsu '88, San, Bakabon '90 and '00 are all owned by Studio Pierrot, so it wouldn't seem too unlikely to get the rights.
Papa is like the Homer of Japan, so it'd be interesting how he'd interact with the crazy Matsuno Bros.
EDIT: Rewatching episode 19, I noticed this person who looked like an older Bakabon wearing his father's outfit.

Gavan, Let's get jiggy!I'd love to see this get a second season or something. Although since it follows a straight Status Quo Is God narrative, i can see that being unappealing for some people. (then again, most sitcoms follow this route and they have a big success...Well, at least we can admit everybody wants more fun A Us of the sextuplets).
It doesn't seem to be that popular where I live, but it's turned into a monster hit in Japan and parts of the USA and South America, so I can see maybe having more possibilities of being more merchandised/taken advantage of (more CD dramas, a musical, maybe an OVA or two...)
John Silver is master husbando.I watched the JRA special. Still has its charm.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"I remember the old series being popular in Latin America way back when I was a kid. How's the recent series there?
Also, the OVA was hilarious.
Gavan, Let's get jiggy!Ahh...here I am not seeing this thread until now. I apologize. Anyway, there's tons of callbacks I'd like to see in a potential season 2. Please, give me a callback to the ballet episode. And Robomatsu, oh man Robomatsu. I want Robomatsu to show up in a gray hoodie and pretend to be one of them. Let's say he springs out of Iyami's closet to seek vengeance....
Edit: Cool, a fellow fan of Bakabon? Actually that seems like a viable crossover idea given that his fiftieth anniversary is next year. It would be....odd if there wasn't a time skip, so I was kind of hoping Bakabon gets his own thing. Bakabon's an adult, Hajime, a teenager....man.... And here's a fun cameo, apparently Rerere◊ got swallowed by Dayon at one point and became one of his people. (He's northeast diagonal to Choromatsu.) Assuming he's still Bakabon's neighbor, that must mean the family is still nearby...right?

"Don't cry because it's over, cry because it happened."Oh shit, never noticed Rerere in that shot. Good catch!
Gavan, Let's get jiggy!Holy heck, I certainly wasn't expecting more of the Osomatsus care of the JRA. And of course, everyone had to die in the end, ahaha.
By the way, has anyone found where Totoko's sexy santa outfit came from? Was it from one of the manga chapters? Or the character albums? Because I as sure as heck don't remember her wearing that number in the series.
Ditto for Ichimatsu as a school doctor and Nyaa as... a JK? There's Fandom Specific Plots, but I think this pretty much came out of nowhere.

Christmas Totoko and Doctor Ichimatsu are from Hesokuri Wars, an official Osomatsu-san Tower Defense app. I've got no idea about JK Nyaa, though. Maybe that's fanon?
Speaking of fandom-specific plots (the fan-created ones anyway), the ones that I've seen are quite popular are DevilMega/ReligionMatsu, the standard Mafia! AU, and Stockholm Syndrome/Blond Osomatsu AU.

This account is dead. I’ve said a lot of dumb things in the past and I wish to forget them. I’m sorry if I’ve ever hurt anyone.Well, if any of you knew about the accidental screening leaks, season 2 has been sorta-confirmed for awhile, but there was still some uncertainty among fans. The screening took place recently, and the leaks were confirmed real. The confirmation video is kinda underwhelming since it doesn't show anything new, but having the confirmation is satisfying and exciting.
So, what kind of things do you want to see? Any arcs you want to see continued or added upon, or heck, anything or anyone from the old series you want to see back?
As much as I want to see our old Osomatsu-kun buddies Usomatsu and Robomatsu, I honestly want Esper Nyanko. Since his debut in the original manga, he was an awesome concept that was just a useless one off. Osomatsu-san's no different, he only talks in one (really awesome and effective) episode, and is then pushed to the side to be the cash grabbing animal mascot.
I kinda went off topic for a minute there...but, thoughts?
"Don't cry because it's over, cry because it happened."I too want to see the return of esper Nyanko. And more of the fish idol girl, she's hilarious.
I'm not much of a Totoko fan and I know a lot of people who agree with me. Her attitude really needs to be toned down in my opinion. Keep her, but tone her down, her personality is unlikeable in my opinion. And yeah, kind of ironic I saw this since my favorite character is Iyami who tends to be hated in some circles. As much as I kinda dislike Totoko, though, I do realize removing her would be a bad option. It's like Tensai Bakabon without Rerere: it's not affected so much, but it still feels...empty, in a way. Does that make sense?
Also, I really need some Iyami and Chibita episodes. There was really only one in season one and they're the orIginal dynamic duo, after all.
"Don't cry because it's over, cry because it happened."Aiyaiyai, SEASON 2 FUCK YEAH!
I wonder if they're gonna bring back more characters from the old series like Totoko's brother Yowai, or maybe even characters from other Akatsuka series like Bakabon, Akko-chan or Ataro!
Gavan, Let's get jiggy!Fighting Yowai? Man that sure is a character I honestly forgot about. Also, with bringing back other Akatsuka characters...that's something I honestly doubt at this point. Lately Fujio-Pro has been pretending that everything non-Osomatsu doesn't exist. I mean, Tensai Bakabon's fiftieth anniversary was yesterday, and nothing was added to koredeiinoda.net. They forgot.
I would like to see Fighting Yowai though; maybe even Iyami's daughter...
"Don't cry because it's over, cry because it happened."Another update for you guys, it's confirmed that season 2 will come this October.
The celebratory mosaic has also just went up.
If you click the magnifying glass and type in 000814, you will see the drawing I sent in!
"Don't cry because it's over, cry because it happened."Oh yeah!
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"Hell yeah, can't wait!
Gavan, Let's get jiggy! The tower game is out for English and Korean.
Actually I'm curious if South Korea has some Osomatsu fans.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"It does. The show airs on TV there, so did a dub of Osomatsu-kun 1988 a few years prior, which still airs on an on and off basis.
Anyway, what did you guys think of S 2 E 1?
In my opinion, it was brilliant. Probably the best episode of the series so far, and the future looks bright for the show.
I was hoping that the show would make commercialism jokes eventually for the second season, but they did that for half the whole episode! I was so pleased! They seemed to make fun of itself and all of the fans too! There were the Akatsuka purists who got angry with the sextuplets and were cued whenever they said KOREDEIINODA. Plus, the parents seemed to play Akatsuka purists too ("our cute little sextuplets would never do anything that vulgar!!")
I loved how it acknowledged the show's status as a Merchandise-Driven Cash-Cow Franchise. Beautiful animation and clever self aware jokes. I hope this persists for the rest of the season and that it surpasses S1.
"Don't cry because it's over, cry because it happened."Jesus Christ. And here I though The Amazing Workd of Gumball is crazy with all the meta humor and art shifts.
This was a pretty good season 2 premiere. I especially like how it is a repeat of the season 1 premiere with the Matsuno Brothers trying their hardest to be a great anime only to fall apart due to their quirkyness. Especially their attempts at trying to please the unpleasable fanbase:
- If they continue the low brow vulgar humor which got them popular, the purist will lynch them for betraying the creators vision of a charming anime.
- If they be a more proper anime that is well written and showcase character depth (namely those serious episodes in season 1), the purest will still lynch them for not being funny and up its own ass.
So basically this premiere episode is the writers way of saying: yeah we are out of ideas to please everybody, might as well just give it our best after brainstorming for 2 years. A proper start, to a properly hilarious anime.

Actually I realized, the parents are probably representative of not Akatsuka purists but the Japanese censors. The censors have complained about the vulgarity of the show many times, not to mention "no parodies!"
"Don't cry because it's over, cry because it happened."I should really watch this show. The screencaps I saw of the season 2 premiere looked like an absolute blast. It seems they don't give two shits about the incident from last season with the premiere being pulled and will continue to make the show they feel like making.
"A buddy is a buddy no matter how nutty."Holy shit, that was a fun premier! I wonder what the budget for it was...
I can't wait to see the next one!
Gavan, Let's get jiggy!
The final ED song was awesome. The entire main cast sang the ED song from the first season.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"
