I like how this episode has quite some Call-Back to previous episodes. ESP Kitty, Nyaa-chan, the Sutabaa incident.

Male Totty is also the most "normie" of the bunch, makes sense I guess.
I like how the Girlymatsus have somewhat different dynamics than normal Matsus. Like, Ichiko is more assertive and talkative, Jyushiko has a hint of being manipulative, and Karako actually gets mad.
In before the Joshimatsus turn out to be the sisters that the Matsunos meet in the mixer described in the S1 ED song.

The sheer Homoerotic Subtext with the F6 is getting too much. It was funny, but then the lotion pool scene happened and it turned to pure WTF level.
Ichimatsu part was hilarious as hell though. I'm putting it up there with "Todomatsu and 5 Demons" and "Rental Girlfriends" in terms of funniness.
Not to mention the Incest Subtext in the Ichimatsu segment.

I can hear the fangirls screaming when Ichi exclaims "I'm a Karamatsu boy!" in his head.
Apparently there's some speculation whether Osomatsu knew it was Ichi dressing as Kara or not. Like, the things he said were really specific to Ichimatsu is like. Messy hair, dark aura, etc. Then again, Oso can't read the mood unless it's serious occasion.
I can't ship Juicy with anyone other than the Country Girl after ep9.

Oh, Homura. I ship her with Jyushimatsu too, because the two of them were just so sweet. And probably because I do kinda like angsty, unrequited Ichi/Jyushi, ahaha.

So Choro likes reversible BL couple, hmm...? Great taste. Nah, he probably has an otaku circle with fujoshi inside.
Favorite skits are Choromatsu and Karamatsu's. "NON NON NON. MAI LITTLE JUUSHIMATS. AI NID JUUSHIMATS. AHNDASTAN?" Karamatsu's Engrish is off the charts.
Also, first volume sold 79k units, BD and DVD combined. Which is to say, it's fucking HUGE.
This episode shows that, while continuity wasn't strong in Osomatsu-san to begin with, we can outright ignore it as far as Jyushimatsu's skits are concerned. XD
No, I will never accept "Jyushimatsu Falls in Love" isn't canon. ;_;
Was hoping they would make a reference to the girl even only once like ESP Kitty, but I guess not...Well, she doesn't work as a character in this kind of anime anyway.

As for my matsu ranking, it's Ichi = Jyushi > Todo = Kara > Choro > Oso. Their genderbent versions, on the other hand, is Ichi > Kara = Oso > Jyushi > Todo = Choro.

The manga I've read the first chapter of. Mom gets tired of her kids being useless and goes to get a guard dog. They even let a burglar into the house who takes Choro hostage and has to be The Straight Man till they freak him out and he leaves.
It ends with her pulling out a knife for them whining and for thinking that guy was her lover.

Matsu ranking?
1st cour: Jyushi > Kara > Totty > Ichi > Choro > Oso
2nd cour: Ichi > Kara > Jyushi > Oso > Totty > Choro
Ichi gets a lot better when they start displaying his socially awkward side rather than his dark creepy side. The entire Ichimatsu Incident and the part where he suicided just because he's too nervous to be the main character really shot him up the ranking.
Jyushi on the other hand, got less enjoyable. They started playing up his lolrandom side more rather than his childish innocence, which is what I enjoyed the most about him.
Oso is gradually getting up the ranking. He doesn't draw any attention to himself, but his interactions with his brothers are great. His increased screentime helps, too.
Choro has opposite problem of Oso. He's getting less and less screentime every episode. And Totty sometimes fills his tsukkomi role as well.
Kara and Totty mostly stay the same on how much I like them.
Preeeetty sure that older watchers like me had Honey And Clover flashbacks during the "Choromatsu's self-awareness" sketch there, when he was talking about going on a journey to find himself. XD
I don't think I'll EVER look at Iyami and Chibita the same way again, with what they pulled this episode.
Oh, and poking around Pixiv, I've been introduced to a bit of crackpot fan theory regarding segment 9C. Disregarding the fact that we saw everything from the brothers' point of view the theory posits that the entire segment was the girl toeing the line of the living world and the afterlife after a failed suicide attempt. Jushimatsu allowing her to leave on the train leads to her waking up again in the real world again.
Now, if you're familiar with Osomatsu-kun Grows Up, you'll THEN remember that Jushimatsu ends up becoming a doctor...
Wow, people sure must have had a lot of time on their hands to have come up with THIS one, as it's distinctly left field even for WMV-esque theories.
